Great team and service. Beautiful town. Very high quality breakfast. The restaurant had an amazing dinner as well.

The basics of a brunch menu were not met: no ingredients to make a Bellini, semi-raw eggs, a Croque Monsieur steeped in fat. The service as usual, could do with improvement, especially when a patron is providing constructive feedback.

This hotel has certainly seen its best days. The paint is flaking and you are left with a feeling it is not very clean - specifically in the public restrooms. But the absolute worst experience is the food. For dinner we were served an over cooked and totally dry halibut which was so salty it was barely eatable. Adding to this the 'chef' had burnt the fish on the grill so that one side of the fish taste like roast chicken. For lunch the day after we were served a tasteless cod reminding us of a white piece of rubber in a sauce that looked lie sewage water. I am not totally down rating the hotel experience, apart from the cleanliness and need for renovation, but the restaurant is horrific and should be avoided at any cost.

This hotel was a new experience for my wife and I. It was such a delight to be treated almost so well. The staff were superb -- friendly, helpful and very considerate of our needs. When we arrived and entered our room it was quite a surprise to find our luggage already in our room. After a short walk in the very Swedish town of Sigtuna we took an afternoon tea in their beautiful lounge. Again, we were surprised by a 3-tier serving tray with a very tasty selection of small "goodies" for our tea. Later in the evening, we were seated in a pleasant dining room with a fantastic view over lake Mälaren. We had a three course meal that was just delicious and the service was first class. Our room was very comfortable and our request for extra pillows was handled immediately -- another "star" for the staff. The breakfast had everything we liked with a bonus of making our own waffles.

Got stuck in Arlanda for 10 hours and was offered this hotel - absolutely worth the unexpected layover! Sigtuna is an adorable city and nestled at it's heart is one of the most wonderful hotels I have ever stayed at! The staff were very accommodating, the room was gorgeous and the view breathtaking! SAS are welcome to rebook me in the future if it means staying here!

Lingonberries, mashed potatoes, gravy, and meatballs is a perfect flavor combination the Vikings must have pillaged from Valhalla itself. I understand you can find this dish other places in Sweden but you shouldn’t. You should have it here at the 1909 Sigtuna Stadshotell. The food is excellently prepared and the staff is more than capable to recommend a wine pairing from their vast selection. After a few glasses of wine, why not stay the night? My single room is small but comfortable and has everything I need. I have been treated like their most important guest by all the staff from the moment I walked in. I highly recommend this hotel and restaurant. Today I am here for business but next time I will stay here for pleasure.

The hotel was lovely situated with great views. The hotel was cozy and we had a nice couple of days in Sigtuna. In general the experience was delightful but a few things did not live up to the expected standards, which lowers the rating from 5 to 3 stars. More details below: The service: - In general the service was great (especially in front desk, during breakfast and at the bar), but with one significant exception. The 3 course dinner that we hade to pre-order was totally inflexible, even though we decided weeks ahead and was less than 10 people we all had to choose the same three course dinner, which resulted in half of our company having to eat dishes that they did not at all prefer. In addition to this the service within the restaurant was below expectations, especially considering the 5 star status. Orders were misplaced and people were forgotten when taking drink orders. Regarding the rooms: - In general the rooms were nice, however the quality differed a lot in terms of size, views and equipment depending on what room you got (even though they were all the same price category). Our room did not have an AC (which we would have needed given the temperature in the room), but some of the rooms did. - In a five star hotel I would expect the rooms to be cleaner (we found hairballs in the corners, an dead bugs that was stuck in the blinds) Apart from this, a great place to visit.

We chose Sigtuna Stadshotell for a Friday-Saturday stayover with friends because we had heard that the restaurant should be something extraordinary. The hotel itself is really nice and the staff is very friendly and the attention to details is very good when it comes to the accommodation - e.g. staff visiting your room in the evening settings your blinds etc. ||||Unfortunately the restaurant didn’t really meet up with our expectations. The food was good, absolutely, but not extraordinary. The sad part about the dinner though was that service wasn’t very attentive and didn’t live up to the ambitions that the hotel itself seems to have. Dinner started off really good and we were surprised with a little “snack” and bread&fennel pollen butter served on a warm slate stone. But between the dishes and after dinner we were pretty much left alone. No service refilling the wine glasses (of course we can manage ourselves but unusual at an ambitious establishment to have to) and most of all at the end of dinner when asked if we wanted coffee but not e.g. if we wanted an avec with it. And after dessert we weren’t asked at all if we wanted something more or payed attention to for almost a full hour after finishing. Very odd as the restaurant wasn’t busy at all at that time. So - great hotel but the restaurant experience wasn’t really anything special. If this is normal the restaurant probably miss out on quite some opportunities for additional sales (and really happy guests).
