AB 1909 Sigtuna Stads Hotell

Easy to park and enjoy a lazy walk around the historic town and lake. The room was spacious and we enjoyed watching sunrise from the panoramic windows.||The bed was old and worn out, covered by a piece of old foam and linens that didn’t fit the bed correctly. Also the bathroom is tiny and the shower impossible to use as it would have drenched the entire room— something to overlook in an Airbnb, but not acceptable in a “five star” hotel. ||We had an incredible dinner at Bathuset Krog Bar, absolutely the best view in town amd very glad we chose this when we sat the breakfast. Expecting products from the hotel’s onsite bakery, the breakfast was super disappointing, the gluten free products were all stale.||Lots of unrealized potential here.

Nice little hotel at a great location by the lake Mälaren. Friendly service and a good breakfast. Small rooms but overall clean and cozy equipped with AC. Good value for the price. Well worthy a visit!

We recently stayed at 1909 Sigtuna Stads Hotell and had a mixed experience. While there were definitely highlights, a few issues left us disappointed. We had booked a superior room, but upon entering, the room felt noticeably smaller than shown in the pictures. The bathroom was cramped, and the expected separate sitting area with a table and chairs was missing. After raising this with reception and showing the pictures from the website, which clearly included a bathtub and more space, we were eventually moved to another room that matched our expectations. The difference between the two rooms was significant, which raises the question: was the first one really a superior room? Mistakes can happen, but it’s better to acknowledge them rather than act as if nothing is wrong. The second room was lovely, with a beautiful view, and we appreciated the air conditioning. However, small details like missing bathrobes and slippers, which are usually standard in this room category, took away from the overall experience. Breakfast was pleasant in terms of quality, but when we arrived at 9:30, still within breakfast hours, many items were already gone. The hot food section was completely empty, and various cold items were nearly depleted. For a hotel in this price range, replenishing the buffet until closing time should be standard. On the positive side, the hotel has a great location, with easy parking and close proximity to Sigtuna’s charming shopping and dining street. In short, this hotel has a lot going for it, but it lacks consistency. With some attention to detail and honest communication, it could live up to the luxurious image it presents.

Perfect place, we would came in after midnight, called the hotel and they left the keys at the porch under a flowerpot, much my appreciated. Excellent breakfast. And really nice village to make a walk.

Mother’s day set menu was a disaster. The food was finger sized although advertised as a “brunch”, and the pavlova was described as served “with berries” but came out with one (1) singular raspberry - and ready-made cream from cannisters. Couldn’t even cut it, that’s how tough it was. The champagne was filled half way, and different amounts for everyone. The service was lacking. The tables around us were left dirty although the restaurant was 30% full. We were left to eat on old dirty plates when served the dessert. From what the restaurant presents itself as, I expected more. But it’s really really cheap food, things you can find pre packed at ICA. For a regular supper, this works. But don’t go here to celebrate anything. The staff isn’t trained to a (any) standard at all.

I slept there one night, the room was very hot, there was no air conditioning, the bathroom light didn't turn on and there was a bad smell, when I went to look, it was the trash that was full, breakfast had no scrambled eggs after 9:30 am

Beautiful location and nice spot for a hotel with a decent restaurant. The lady who served us was so friendly and warm and spoke very good English. Our food came on time and was absolutely delicious! A bit pricey but worth it. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take a photo of our food but it was the cod fish

The waitris recomended a dish that was not on the manuellt. |Got the wrong dish twice and when I finaly got what i ordered i was not tasty. Small portions and feels like a scam.|Do not recomend to eat here.|The only positive I can say is that the coffe was ok.

Nearly a year ago (I know, I've been lazy), we flew to Stockholm and thence to Sigtuna for our wedding. We landed that night at -15 and it got down to -22. It was mostly around -12 during the day thereafter We stayed 3 nights at the Sigtuna Stadshotell. We fully recommend it, but it was a comedy of errors - but you know what, it was so lovely, we were happy, and they did their best to sort things out I have included a few photos of Sigtuna itself - you couldn't wish for a more wonderful place to get married. Let's start with the Hotel itself We checked in - nice, friendly staff; good start. We went to our room and...it was absolutely freezing. There were 2 heaters but neither was on, nor could we get them to work. They gave us a portable heater...and then a second one...at last some warmth - and this was a huge room We went downstairs while it warmed up: they gave us some lovely snacks, sandwiches and cakes, not to mention the scotch, rum and coffees A man came the next day to fix the heaters - he did (but we kept the 2 portable ones anyway). He had to come back twice more: once to fix the (orthopaedic) bed which had jammed in a difficult position, and again when the hairdryer blew up when plugged in We were out all the next day - write ups elsewhere - and in the evening they produced some very nice cakes things for us with our nightcap Wedding day - up early and out at 9:30 to get flowers, wedding cake and oh, yes, get married and have lunch, back at 16:30. Hmm what's going on? Apparently there was no electricity for all that time; it had only just been fixed. Good thing we hadn't ordered our wedding lunch for here (we had originally - but that's a story for later) - all the julbord lunch guests were of course impacted - but they somehow sorted it all out Up in the morning for breakfast (super BTW, and see photos for the view) to check out and depart for the Waterfront in Stockholm...agggaahhh, no hot water...well no, of course not, since there had been no electricity all yesterday! We dressed, they gave us towels and passes and off we went in the snow to the nearest gym, which had agreed to let their guests shower You couldn't make all this up! I mentioned the wedding lunch - we had originally wanted to have our lunch at the hotel but they said they were only doing julbord (you get enough of that as it is...) so we booked elsewhere. On arrival, they were astounded to hear that - of course they would have accommodated us and allowed us to sort out a menu with them. As it turned out, good job we didn't Seriously, Sigtuna is a marvellous and magical place and I have put some narrative to all the pictures so you get some idea And if we go back we would stay here again - it's a super Hotel

The Stadtshotell is situated in a gorgeous old building at the end of the main shopping street. Its back terrace has plenty of seating and overlooks the expanse of water. The interiors were painted in a beautiful pale dusty green color with accents of white. The sitting room featured a baby grand piano. A very serene, unhurried place to eat and stay in Sweden's oldest town.

we had an elegant meal with friends at this beautiful period restaurant with views directly over Lake Malaren. We wished the food was more traditional Swedish but they decided to add a modern flair to the dishes. Naturally, very pricy.
