I really wanted to like this spot as there is a large gap for Indian cuisine in this area, but there were just too many issues... We placed our phone order at 6:45pm and were told it was going to be a half hour. Got there around 7 just to do a little shopping and asked if the food was ready at 7:15. Was told very shortly. In that time, there were very few other customers, and anyone that did show up was able to pick up within minutes of arriving. We didn't end up getting our order until 7:45, no reasons or excuses or anything. On paying, nearly every item was upcharged an extra dollar. Doesn't sound like much, but it adds up. This includes items as part of the grocery shop, not just our food order! When I asked, they told me that prices have gone up. Goat prices, cauliflower prices... Their menu is very recently printed and clearly spelled out prices but they were unwilling to honor it for us.
As for the food, the portions are very reasonable, even for the extra cost, but at this point, I would prefer just going to a sit down restaurant since it would have been quicker and the same price. The gobi was mostly chewy batter, overly salted rather than the sweet, tangy, spicy flavor I was expecting. The butter chicken was legit good though, and I wish I knew how they cook that chicken so tender. The goat was ok - something was missing in the flavor and I was tasting more bitter than anything else. Just wish I got some pieces of meat that wasn't just cartilage, tendon, and bone.
I'll be back for groceries, but I'm avoiding their takeout next time. Hopefully this was just a one off experience for them.
