Abaco On Jervois

Abaco suited me well. Travelling alone from Melbourne to Auckland to reunite with old friends, most of them residing in a relatively short distance from Ponsonby. Fifty-plus years ago, I lived a short distance away on Curran Street, so there was a nice familiarity. Sheryl, host at Abaco, was very welcoming and fielded a couple of phone calls for me, which helped greatly. As I had told her when booking, my need was accommodation clean and quiet. Perfect. And an excellent shower is a blessing for the traveller. Car parking at the rear helps visitors. Location is great, eateries in walking distance (recommend Honey Cafe on St Mary's Bay Road), views of Auckland's wonderful harbour, and the weather was uniformly wonderful during my stay (March 20-24). I would stay again.

We stayed here for a few days during our stop in Auckland. This hotel is located in a nice area, is clean, and has everything you need for a few days (comfy bed, good wifi, well-stocked kitchenette). We appreciated the amenities and the great water pressure in the shower.

Very happy to recommend to visitors to Auckland. Good room with all necessary amenities and a spa bath. Hosts are responsive and pleasant. Off street parking is ample. Lots off local shops and eateries. Easy access to the city, the harbour, motorways and the bridge.

Short walk to a bunch of restaurants and a few bars, along with shopping and such. Fast wifi, nice tub with jets. Friendly service had the room clean early. Room had a patio as well as a nice view from the balcony. Room was very large with a pull out couch.

I really liked the premises and location, it's close to the city but quiet and shady enough to be in a residential area.|My studio room was perfect for me, good size and layout. I liked the kitchen area, is nice and modern.|The manger and partner were were super helpful from the start and went above and beyond to help me.|I really hope to stay again next time I'm in the City, I found it peaceful and relaxing.

Needed accommodation last minute for me and my brother as a family member was taken to Mercy Hospice, Sheryl could not have been more accommodating ,we didnt know how long our stay would be but she put a hold on the room anyway,Had to stay an extra 3 days but it was not a problem. Rooms were lovely and clean , kitchen ,TV, shower, 2 separate bedrooms highly recommended. back in England now

We stayed here for 7 nights in a one bedroom suite. Sheryl and the team were super welcoming and friendly, the room was clean and perfectly met our needs. A car park is also a huge bonus. We loved our stay - Ponsonby and Herne Bay at our doorstep with fabulous food and shopping so close. We would totally recommend Abaco and will absolutely be back !! This place is well located in an inner suburb of Auckland. Good restaurants and stores are within walking distance. We had to change our reservation at the last minute due to flight disruptions and the hotel was very accommodating. The room was quiet , clean and comfortable with good beds , shower and air conditioning. The hosts were very pleasant . | I would stay again...

This is one of the more modern and clean motels I've stayed at during this trip, they are conveniently located 15 min bus or 30 min walking distance to the CBD area. There are lots of food places near this location such as street food or international food court. The motel itself is cozy with a microwave and a fridge. The best part about it is that it had AC! A lot of place I've stayed at didn't have AC. The staff were nice and friendly they have a super shuttle for an affordable price that picks you up and brings you to the airport. ($46nzd for two people) the room itself is clean they provide toiletries and clean towels. Very satisfied with my stay here! The bus is three min walk away to city center and wifi is free! There's A tv with a good amount of shows and the beds and pillowed smelled clean and fresh unlike some other motels I've stayed at

What a great little motel! Located just a short stroll from busy Ponsonby (which is my new favourite suburb in Auckland) & an easy half hour walk to the city this is a great starting point for any Auckland visit. The rooms are small but well contained & they're generous with the amenities. Plunger coffee, hot chocolate, 4 or 5 types of tea alongside nice toiletries (makeup removal wipes - unheard of in a motel) & all the sky tv channels (pay tv). Everything in the room seemed quite new & really clean. The staff are lovely. My only small issue was that the walls are very thin so we could clearly hear the people next door talking & laughing when we were in bed but everyone went to sleep around the same time so it ultimately didn't matter much! The price is really reasonable so if you need a place for a quick stop off in Auckland I'd highly recommend this one!

I spent three days here and it was delightful. The owner and staff are so helpful and friendly. Very nice room. Close to nice restaurants, lots to do and see within walking distance. Recommend.
