Abaco On Jervois

Booked this hotel on the back of positive TA reviews and a great price. Manager was bright and friendly. Location was great. Lots of good food outlets within a few minutes. 10 minutes to North Shore for a show. We were placed in room 801 right next to reception. The room was clean but very tired and so dreary. Almost no natural light available due to small external windows which where both under cover of roof overhangs. Bed was comfortable. Shower over spa bath not ideal from a safety perspective. Not a room you would want to just sit around relaxing and reading in. Maybe pay a bit more and get something newer. Parking full by the time we got back from show and had to park on roadway.

Rather than give a poor review, I usually grin and bear it. This place could be very nice if maintenance was caught up. Our room was a good size and setup, but the DW and the kitchen sink faucet were broken. And there was a major ant infestation. We complained but nothing changed. Good thing it was only two nights.

The rooms were clean and spacious. Towels were clean and clear. Great kitchen set up. All you need to bring is salt and pepper. I will definitely stay again soon. My new place to stay when in the city.

Excellent facilities and location. Will stay here again. Carpark is right there. BP station next door and cafes across the road! Worth it and very reasonably priced.

Abaco suited me well. Travelling alone from Melbourne to Auckland to reunite with old friends, most of them residing in a relatively short distance from Ponsonby. Fifty-plus years ago, I lived a short distance away on Curran Street, so there was a nice familiarity. Sheryl, host at Abaco, was very welcoming and fielded a couple of phone calls for me, which helped greatly. As I had told her when booking, my need was accommodation clean and quiet. Perfect. And an excellent shower is a blessing for the traveller. Car parking at the rear helps visitors. Location is great, eateries in walking distance (recommend Honey Cafe on St Mary's Bay Road), views of Auckland's wonderful harbour, and the weather was uniformly wonderful during my stay (March 20-24). I would stay again.

We stayed here for a few days during our stop in Auckland. This hotel is located in a nice area, is clean, and has everything you need for a few days (comfy bed, good wifi, well-stocked kitchenette). We appreciated the amenities and the great water pressure in the shower.

Very happy to recommend to visitors to Auckland. Good room with all necessary amenities and a spa bath. Hosts are responsive and pleasant. Off street parking is ample. Lots off local shops and eateries. Easy access to the city, the harbour, motorways and the bridge.

This is one of the more modern and clean motels I've stayed at during this trip, they are conveniently located 15 min bus or 30 min walking distance to the CBD area. There are lots of food places near this location such as street food or international food court. The motel itself is cozy with a microwave and a fridge. The best part about it is that it had AC! A lot of place I've stayed at didn't have AC. The staff were nice and friendly they have a super shuttle for an affordable price that picks you up and brings you to the airport. ($46nzd for two people) the room itself is clean they provide toiletries and clean towels. Very satisfied with my stay here! The bus is three min walk away to city center and wifi is free! There's A tv with a good amount of shows and the beds and pillowed smelled clean and fresh unlike some other motels I've stayed at

What a great little motel! Located just a short stroll from busy Ponsonby (which is my new favourite suburb in Auckland) & an easy half hour walk to the city this is a great starting point for any Auckland visit. The rooms are small but well contained & they're generous with the amenities. Plunger coffee, hot chocolate, 4 or 5 types of tea alongside nice toiletries (makeup removal wipes - unheard of in a motel) & all the sky tv channels (pay tv). Everything in the room seemed quite new & really clean. The staff are lovely. My only small issue was that the walls are very thin so we could clearly hear the people next door talking & laughing when we were in bed but everyone went to sleep around the same time so it ultimately didn't matter much! The price is really reasonable so if you need a place for a quick stop off in Auckland I'd highly recommend this one!

I spent three days here and it was delightful. The owner and staff are so helpful and friendly. Very nice room. Close to nice restaurants, lots to do and see within walking distance. Recommend.
