When you walk into the foyer, it is breathtaking. Clean minimalist lines, clearly designed by someone at the top of their game. The resort is spectacular, perched above a rugged coastline, it truly is luxurious. Our room (with a private pool) was very good, great bed and very clean. The pool was very cold in September but it was nice to sit near it. Strange thing was there are dividers between the pools to provide privacy, but only on every second room. We found that a bit strange. The staff we encountered were great, yes service lacked occasionally, but overall we had nice people doing their best. The food was terrific, every meal we had there was excellent. The hotel is a fair way from the airport and is clearly the best place in the area. If you are planning on a lot of tours, it’s about 40 mins from the main city. Overall, beautiful place, just a few tweaks required.

Firstly the good bits. Lovely airy pristine reception and communal areas. There are lots of spaces to sit outside or in and staff always on hand to look after you. The smell was so gorgeous that I brought a reed diffuser and room spray home with me. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. My deep blue room looked over the sea, was spacious and fantastically decorated. Not sure about the bath next to the bed, but there is a separate shower room and loo. The pool area and gardens had masses of sunbeds available so no fight for one ever. The breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of choice including an a la carte selection. I was half board so had dinner as well. This could be taken in the buffet or by arrangement in one of the three a la carte restaurants. I ate in all and found the food very good indeed, especially Bony Fish. Service in all restaurants was super. Buddha bar, by the pool was great for drinks and also did food, which I did not try but the sushi looked good. Situated about a couple of miles out of Hersonissos center it was lovely and quiet, but walking into the town was an easy stroll. I was really well looked after by the staff and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.|Not so good bits. As the buildings all face North there was no sun on the balcony at all, but the view was lovely. Hotel supplied two vey small bottles of water each evening but any other water was charged at 5euros a bottle, not really acceptable at a 5 star hotel. There is tea and coffee facilities in the room with a small supply on arrival but I was charged 10 euros for three nespresso pods and 4 sachets of milk in the room when the first supply ran out. Again not acceptable for a 5 star resort. There is no evening entertainment so it seems most people go to theor rooms after dinner. The bar was very nice but very empty most evenings. There is really no beach to speak of so swimming was problematic. There was a jetty with a ladder into the sea but not for unconfident swimmers, A steep incline led down to a small public beach just out side the resort. Most people seemed to swim in the pool or not bother at all. The lack of accessible sandy beach was the main thing I missed. However I thoroughly enjoyed my 10 days a Abadon Island resort and spa.

Crete was our last destination of our 5 island hopping trip. We don't usually stay at such large complexes opting for smaller more intimate hotels. The site was massive and had everything you could want. The bedroom were large, well laid out and the beds were to die for....so comfy. They even offered you a choice of pillows. It had both pool and 'beach' sunbeds with the pool ones being the most popular. The buffet breakfast is outstanding, catering for everything from fish to bucks fizz! There were three restaurants on site as well as a large outdoor bar. We tried to book a meal at the meat restaurant but it was fully booked so we booked the following night. Although we ended up not eating there when I returned to cancel the booking the restaurant was half full and lacked any ambience. The steaks were hugely expensive some at 90 euros per 100 grms.|The downside to the resort is its location. Great if all you want to do is to stay at the resort but if you don't have a car you will either have to take a taxi or walk the 30 mins to the nearby bars / restaurants.|We were only there for 4 nights but our last night was spoilt by the room below us using their jacuzzi at 3am in the morning.

This is a review of the WOW restaurant. It is based within this hotel complex and shares its facilitiies. It's a nice location in thevening but the food and service are not good. Especially considering the price. You won't get a meal for under £100 a head and probably will still leave hungry and disappointed. Its seems to survive on people not seeing through the pretension. Of course as the owner states in the response we knew it was going to be expensive as it is advertised online -there is no dishonesty on the website and the bill wasnt a shock (the service was). It was based on the website that we thought it would be suitable for a special occasion. Naturally this creates expectations which this restaurant falls well short, both on food and service and so it is worth restating that you will easily spend >£$€100 and still leave hungry. This is what the owners respone still doesnt understand and so i wouldnt expect any improvement on our experience

I rarely write poor reviews, but this one is deserving. The hotel poses itself as a five star resort and it has all the capabilities to do so. However the owner needs to take 95% of the staff fire them and hire somebody who actually knows what hospitality is. From cleaning staff forgetting to change bed sheets, to beach staff literally telling us to go get the towels ourselves as none are available near them. Layers of dust that are cm thick on the air fans in the room and “considerable forgetting cleaning staff” restocking our minibar that was half empty from the previous stay just so that we end up finding extra charge of these items that were restocked a day before we were about to check out. On our hotel bill. I saw breakfast staff checking their watch 5 minutes before breakfast was over to see if they would make me a coffee and I could go on…. All in all it’s a pitty to see a project that had heart and soul poured into it only to be devastated by lack of staff training and understanding what hospitality is. Definitely a once and never again. My suggestion… Spend your money somewhere else.

My wife and I recently stayed at Abaton Hotel for the second time, and this visit was even more special as it was our first time traveling with our baby. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel itself is stunning, with beautiful decor and well-maintained facilities. Our room was spacious, clean, and had all the amenities we needed, including a crib for our baby. We were pleasantly surprised when the hotel upgraded our room, adding an extra touch of luxury to our stay. The attention to detail was impressive, and we felt truly pampered throughout our stay. One of the highlights of our visit was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were always friendly, attentive, and ready to assist with any request. Whether it was providing recommendations for local attractions or ensuring we had everything we needed for our baby, the staff's dedication to guest satisfaction was evident. Overall, our experience at Abaton Hotel was nothing short of amazing. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and family-friendly getaway. We can't wait to return for another memorable stay.

We arrived at the Abaton Hotel and received a lovely welcome. The service was excellent. Special thanks to the representative Julieta who always took care of our every request. The breakfast was perfect. The best room service there is. Thanks to the entire Abaton team. We will definitely be back again next year. 🙏🏽
