Characterful hotel in 900-year-old building with pool, right in the heart of Beaune yet also very peaceful. Room was clean, bright and well appointed and has air conditioning -- essential in summer. Staff were friendly and helpful. If you're on the top floor, as we were, be prepared for a real workout on the spiral staircase! Plenty of (paid) parking on the street nearby.

Unique hotel with medieval feel housed in a thousand-year-old beautiful building. Amazing service, clean rooms with great bathrooms, perfect AC and located in the heart of the beautiful, historic city of Beaune! A delightful stay and pleasure all around with the most personable breakfast service!

Wow! What an experience staying at this hotel is! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly hospitable and welcoming. The rooms were spacious and the history of the abbey is on full display. It is within walking distance to anything in Beaune and there was a beautiful church right down the street. Parking is a little challenge. However, if you get there in time, you can park on the street around the corner and it is very inexpensive. When we come back to Beaune, we will stay here again!

Our suite was very nice on the 3rd floor. Note: there is no elevator but it was worth it. Our room was very unique and had the bed upstairs. Service at the hotel was very good. The breakfast was excellent and service was very attentive. We highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is historic and the lobby is spectacular. The location is two blocks off the main square, a very short walk, and very quiet. The staff is professional and accommodating. My only word of caution is that there is a very steep circular staircase to rooms.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this exceptional boutique hotel. staff were really helpful and attentive and rooms comfortable and well appointed. We used the pool which was great. If in Beaune again will definitely go to Abbaye de Maizières again.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in. I hit my head on the wood beams above my bed. I was unable to get out of bed without pushing myself to the end of the bed and I still hit my head. We had to go up bizarre boat like stairs to even reach our bed. The bathroom was on the entrance floor. There were at least 80 uneven spiral stairs to get to our room. There was not an elevator. This hotel was booked in Expedia and there was NO suggestion or warning that this hotel may not be suitable for certain people. I do not know how the hotel is allowed to function as I felt that it would be difficult to leave in case of a fire. The front desk woman was rude and arrogant when I told her that I hit my head and that the stairs were difficult. I suffered headaches for three days after this horrid experience. The Abbey is creepy and smells of strong perfumes. The strong perfume is likely an attempt to cover up foul odours. Sleeping in a car would have been preferable to this place. I’m sure they have a few nice rooms but they also have terrible rooms.

Yelp
This beautiful historic medieval-building hotel transports you back in time. Photos do not do it justice. We stayed at a lot of hotels during our honeymoon, and this one had by far the best architecture. The view from our room was terrific, and we loved the stained glass window in our room. Extremely comfortable bed as well. Everything was stunning. Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. They recommended two outstanding restaurants and made reservations for us (you need them). Probably the best food we ate our honeymoon. Breakfast was outstanding! Really delicious selection. And have a drink of chartreuse at their bar! Overall, a truly remarkable hotel and lifetime experience. I hope I will get to stay here again.

Yelp
Incredible setting in a 12th century building. Food was excellent. We got 3 course price fix for 35 euro. Everything my wife and I ordered was excellent. Great service Nice wine list with fair prices. I would definitely go back again

Yelp
I love this hotel. It is unique, great architecture and the best staff! Bruno and his wife run it and they couldn't have been nicer, more accommodating, or more helpful! Their staff is just as great. Only one downside...no elevator. Normally I wouldn't care about that, but unfortunately I never travel light and my bags are always too heavy. Other than that, it was super comfortable, big rooms, nice bathroom and good beds! We had great wine and food thanks to Bruno and his staff. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Welcome to the 12th Century is how you are greeted. owners renovated this ancient abbey and offer 14 rooms that are well furnished and have updated bathrooms that still reflect the antiquity of the property. Well situated in the town for easy walking to restaurants and shops.
