This is worth a visit just to go down to the crypt. It was 3 euros to enter the crypt, and worth it. It has a fascinating history. And the areas of the crypt are well documented and explained. It was hard to believe that there is a huge church above it.The church itself is also beautiful.

The church is beautiful, but the crypt is a must see. Marseille's past is hidden underground, and this journey to the 5th century takes you back to late antiquity and the earliest medieval period. I saw the world through different eyes after meditating on these artifacts from a distant past.

Without question my favorite spot I visited! Such an amazing authentic feel! Even a bit damp feeling, as you've likely imagined in books and movies about the period, not fancy but beautiful and again far more authentic feeling than St Peter's Basillica and the like.

Views from the top are nice. It's a good walk up there through the streets inside the castle walls

Wonderful church with even with a Sunday Mass taking place allows you to pay €3 to see the huge walk through crypt under and around the foundations. Wonderful ancient yet modern church with great history, it is well worth a visit.

Beautiful and mystic place with lovely, helpful people running it. It's the birthplace of Christianity in Marseille, set up by Marie Magdalene, Martha and Lazarus, in person. This is a real place of pilgrimage which transports you back in time. I will hopefully return one day.

It's a really old church dating back to ~410 AD. There is an underground place that you can visit from the inside of the church (near the entrance), which is really beautiful and atmospheric. In addition to that, there are many signs that describe what you actually see. I recommend to give it a visit! Totally worth it.
