Incredible space completely covered in painting and decoration, with a unified feeling to it unlike many of the large churches. A highlight is the wood carving in the choir, and you can get up close to see all the animals and people - said to be some of the finest in Italy.

What an amazing church. Went for my hosts choir at night (hench the blury photos), and the inside took my breath away. Waited a while before being allowed in. All the details and colors must have taken AGES to paint. The feeling of being inside was unreal. The organ was gourgous as well.

The Abbey of St Peter is the most richly decorated church in Perugia, even exceeding the cathedral. It was completed in the 17th century in Renaissance style.

Beautiful basilica in a calm environment. The frescoes are really something else! Worth the trip from the city centre to me. Once you're there, I recommend visiting the gardens and its view at the other end of the closter.
