Phenomenal food and even better service! Stopped in for a holiday dinner with the family. MAKE RESERVATIONS if possible! Large menu with plenty of options. Most of us got the porterhouse special and it was off the charts! 10/10 would recommend, cooked to perfection. Our waitress Lexi was amazing, very friendly and kept our drinks full. It’s hard to get a good waitress like her nowadays, very friendly and hard working. Everyone in the building was friendly and out going.

Amazing food, service and drinks. When we came in there was a 15 minute wait but two seats were available at the bar. So glad we made that choice. The bartender was eager to please and friendly. He even let us try a couple things including one of their mussels and a speciality cocktail. His service paid off because I ended up ordering the cocktail and my husband said he would be back again and order the mussels. Turns out we found out why our bartender was so impressive....he is the owner but he was the working his tail off with his employees, impressive!

Found this place while traveling to go see lights . The service was good and the food was great . For a non chain restaurant I would highly recommend checking it out. I had the wings with there hot sauce its very good . And the prices are very fair

Exceptional!! Once again, you did not disappoint… after we drove from Columbus, Ohio, in this snowstorm … just to eat here! Ohio, 10oz serloin were delicious! The wait staff remembered us from our last visit, and surprisingly to us the manager comped our meal! You guys are amazing thank you again! If you’re driving through Wheeling, we highly recommend you stopping!

Passing through and someone told us to go here. Was not disappointed!! Server was awesome. In fact, all staff were very friendly. Prime rib was great, baked potato too. And salad. Try the cinnamon roll cheesecake! So good!

Great old school neighborhood Italian restaurant. Upscale food, but not "fancy" by any means. Lots of wood paneling and mirrors-looks right out of 1976. If you want a big ol'steak done just right, or standard Italian American pasta, then this is the place. Heavy wine pours, big martinis. Fresh bread, old school hoss's style salad complete with pickled beet slice. No hipster stuff here, no crazy fancy sauces-just good neighborhood food and very friendly fast service. Surprising amount of seafood-this place cooks shrimp better than most in particular. Think savory; butter, cheese, red pepper, mushroom, garlic. I go there every time I'm in Wheeling. Very affordable for what you get and very cozy. I usually get the shrimp stuffed NY Strip. You will leave full, happy, and with minimal damage to your wallet. What more could a guy ask for?

Delicious fresh prepared food in a fine dining atmosphere with stellar service priced right. Best kept secret is Thursday and Fridays open for lunch!

Yes this place is a valley favorite, but I'm not really sure why...I believe it's more because of the bar, crowd, and location rather than the food, as it's average at best. I do like the rotisserie ribs and chicken, but they are hit/miss. Salads are just iceberg lettuce, Often only 1 veggie per night available, Always out of desserts. I personally don't care for the steaks here

Best place to eat in wheeling. Huge portions, very reasonable prices, and great service. They've been in business over 30 years. The food is delicious! The ambience is retro style with a 70's vibe. In conclusion, this place is an amazing place to eat.

Great, comfortable atmosphere and very attentive service. Three of our party enjoyed Lebanese salad with salmon. Another had the shrimp Alfredo which gloopy, heavy, and tasteless.

Loved the food and service here! Waitress was warm, inviting, and patient with explaining menu items. The salads are the secret gem of the island that can be found here. Highly recommend for either a date with your loved one or a family dinner.

We had original wings zing, and the fried vegetable combo, consisting of mushrooms, cauliflower, and zucchini. The servers are very nice and the ambulance had the Olympic Games in the background with the sound off and still able to have a conversation.

We have passed by this place a bunch of times and never knew anything about it especially because looks can be deceiving. Well don't judge a book by it's cover. We read a review on a social media and happened to be in the area and stopped. The parking lot was packed and the wait time was around 45 minutes. Normally we wouldn't wait but I'm glad we did. The wait time was less than that. The menu was so overwhelming with choices. We went with the rotisserie rosemary rib sampler as an appetizer since that was something new. So delicious and tender, won't even need the sauce. My husband had the prime rib (which could have fed a whole family). I chose the shrimp scampi but asked for a side of the homemade alfredo Yum. I'm just sad we didn't get dessert, they only had carrot cake or an apple option.

Had been wanting to stop here. So last night with 3 other friends my wife and I made reservations and are very glad we did. This place is crazy busy. Yet we were seated at our reserved time were given drinks and bread fairly quickly and our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. She said she'd been there for twenty years. You must get the house dressing with your salad and adding blue cheese crumbles was also extra special. All the pasta and meatballs are excellent. My friends NY strip on toast was amazing to behold. Oh the stuffed peppers were unbelievably great, however be prepared they have a kick! Then I tasted my other friends blacked tuna steak....I can only say OMG. We will most definitely be back!

Great local restaurant that I tried (I'm not a local). Very good service and food. Massive portion sizes that will sku your diet if not careful.

Sat outside in the tent due to Covid crap. Inside, well the whole place was packed so service was slow, and the prices were pretty high by WV standards. The drinks were right sized, cold and good mix/flavor. 4 us and not a complaint at all. Shrimp, Mussels, fried pickles, salads, hamburger and sausage sandwich, lobster ravioli were all very well done. Fresh bread, sides and apps all good. Nice onion rings too, but ours came out cold due to the slow service. Worth a shot...just go when it's slow.

Tried calling to make a large group reservation for my dad's birthday but the phone rang busy for 2 days. Then at 920pm it rang, but no one picked up. Any business who takes the phone off the hook isn't focused on customers and I'm happy to spend my money elsewhere.

Best surf and Turf. Steak was cooked to perfection!!! First time trying. Definitely recommend, will definitely eat here again.

My husband loved this place he was ready to move to Wheeling by the time we left. Our waitress had worked there for well over 20 years. Service was great. The Italian food was excellent. It was packed - lots of very happy regulars. Desserts made on premises also very good. Highly recommend.

Don't let the outside fool you. This place has absolutely divine Italian wings and delectable salads with fresh chopped bacon. Fried shrimp was also very good. The coleslaw was a bit different than expected (we are from southeast PA).

We stopped in Wheeling for a layover on our way home to Pennsylvania and tried Abbys for dinner. What a wonderful surprise!!! A very friendly atmosphere with wonderful food in our waitress Angie was awesome. Reasonable prices and the biggest lobster tail I have ever had. I highly recommend this place to anyone stopping through.

Just left this establishment. Made a reservation for 6:30 and when we arrived were told there wasn't a table available for us. Meanwhile they ushered others without a reservation right on past us. I don't believe they understand the concept of a reservation. The hostess was just a complete @ss even though it was their fault.

The restaurant was very busy however they did as great job sitting us down and ordering our food. We ordered the wing ding wings with side of Buffalo sauce. They were above average. For our main course we had the rotisserie chicken and Ribs. Very good. The chicken was very larger and moist and the ribs were soft and tender with. BBQ sauce on the side. Also for one of my sides I had the tossed salad with hose Italian dressing. Awesome can't await to visit again

Called 5 hours ahead for a party of 7. Show up 10 minutes before our Reservation time to be told they just seated two tables and that we would have to wait another hour. I understand 15 minutes but an hour? Why even bother with reservations? Been 10 years since we have been there and I can see they have gone downhill

Abbey's is a fantastic place to eat or just hang out at the bar.It is a family owned restaurant and I guanantee that you'll meet Abbey on Friday and Saturday nights . The food is consistanly great and the service is always outstanding. I eat here at least four times a month and have never left disapointed. You will enter a patron and leave a family member with a hug from Joey and/or Abbey. My husband usually gets the "Joey's Jumbo Tail" while I love the Old Bay spicy shrimp. See you there

Great service, dive bar, and fantastic Italian food. What more could you ask for? I had the ravioli and the pasta and the sauce were both amazing. Other places try to hard...this is a great blue collar stop with delicious immigrant food. If I lived in the area, I'd eat there at least three times a week.

Great stuffed pepper soup tonight! Very friendly staff, warm and welcoming and the food was terrific!

Nice quiet place with friendly staff. Their food is excellent, and I find myself ordering their stuffed peppers every time I go there.

I went there on the way home from spending the day at the hospital with my mother in the hospital ICU. I really needed to relax and have a good meal as I had nothing but chips and water all day. That was not to be. I ordered steak which I had been told was wonderful. Not my idea of wonderful ! The steak was tough, very thin, and quite overdone. Baked potato was cold, and salad was just iceberg lettuce mix from a bag. Won't go back. By the way Rick B. travel a little further down 70 off the Ogelbay exit and go to Wild West. Nice selection of draft beer and excellent food!

We came for dinner but they had a special night, I am handicapped, no one knew what they were doing. Said there was only a short amount of time to order by the time we were able to get an answer about seating, of course it was full the time dwindled down to not being able to order. VERY TERRIBLE management for this night.

Order dozens raw oysters, Couldn't believe it took 20 mins, than i was told their were frozen, that's why i had to wait. 10 oz. Burger needs flavor!!!!! Kinda tired of premaid at a premium price, Only bonus is they are the only Bar i can find all the way to Shady side that offer Drafts, Majority of customers are over 50.

The location is not the best part of town, but I would say it is one of the few bright spots to Wheeling Island. Some menu items are like good home cooking, while others could be improved upon. This place can handle groups and does have some good deals overall. I have no problem saying give this place a try, but can't say it would be a weekly spot for me to go to.

Food was pretty average except the Mediterranean Wings were amazing. The outside signage makes the place look like an adults only establishment, but it is just a normal restaurant bar. I would eat here again, and try other dishes.

The food was good. The server was okay. I ordered the chicken salad. It was a bit dry. My drink was empty quite a bit - a big deal to me. Not a bad place to eat, but I won't put it on my favorites list.

I can't believe that the staff would think their ribs was good. It was very, very hard, almost like wood. Also the rub that was on it was not tasteful. Who ever said these ribs were good. Of about five ribs I ate one, rest went to my dogs and even they hesitated eating! Lousy food!!!

Abbey's is a great place on Wheeling island to meet up with friends and grab a bite to eat. It's also a great alternative to eating at Wheeling Downs if you want to avoid the casino crowd. The drinks are impeccably mixed and the service is top notch. Their menu hasn't changed much in a while, but you can always go back get your favorites (of which there will be many).

Good food, great service, exceptional servers! Hubby loved the prime rib with housemade horseradish sauce. Blackened tuna over bed of romaine/spinach salad was yummy and healthy! We would go back again!

I had dinner there last night with a friend,and sent my dinner back. Pasta,how can you screw that up? Their meatballs tasted frozen,served on over -cooked pasta.Possiably it was a jar sauce? I'm tired of premade food at a premium price...I think this place has seen its best days a long time ago.

My boyfriend, our friend and I all ate here last night. The food and atmosphere was great! Our waitress was very nice and made our experience even better. The Mediterranean wings were some of the best wings I have ever had and the Abbey's Special pasta was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the Prime Rib and A Lobster tail which was beautiful, succulent and sweet and the meat was seasoned very well. Our drinks were great also! Really enjoyed the place, highly recommended and we will definitely be back! Best place to eat on the Island by far.

Went there for Xmas and had the steak special..don't waste your money!! The steak was thin, over cooked and had no seasoning. Steak sauce couldn't even help this steak. The cut looked like they had purchased Cheap roasts and cut it into steaks. Never again.

Love this place. Joey and Abby treat everyone like family. Food always delicious and the wait staff are awesome . Our favorite place to go on Friday or Saturday ( or sometimes both).

Really good vibe here. Had dinner and sat around for a good 30 mins after paying my bill having conversations with people and still received great service from my waitress. I recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

I cannot say enough about this place! It has the best prime rib ever! The kind you compare all other prime ribs with, only to be disappointed. Hands down, best food anywhere! All the steaks are wonderful, I've never had a bad experience here. My other favorite dish is the rigatoni! Oy! To die for!

steak is fatty, way overpriced, always get ice cold potato, I can go to Texas roadhouse and get wonderful meal, lower price.

We found this place on Google maps on our way home from New York. Excellent service and the best sirloin steak we've ever had!

We LOVED Abby's. We were leaving the casino and didn't like any of their choices. Their staff recommended Abby's. It was perfect! It was St. Patrick's day so it was extra lively, but not in an obnoxious way. The staff was SO friendly and helpful. My husband got the steak special which was, I think, $12.99 for a BIG ribeye (I'd say 10-12 oz), that came with a big baked potato, salad, and bread. It was delicious (there was enough that he shared!). Also, when we mentioned we were going to share the salad they brought it on 2 plates. Plenty for each of us! I ordered the mussels. If you like garlic, you'll LOVE these, in a white wine garlic sauce. LOTS of mussels for ~$10.99. The whole experience was great and we will definitely go back next time. We're in the area!

I worked in the restaurant business for more than 25 years and this is by far the most disappointing experience I've had or witnessed. I ordered a hot sausage sandwich. I took a bite of it and realized it was red and severely undercooked. The server took it back. She brought it back to me and it wasn't any better. She told me the cook said they cooked it longer and the red was the seasoning, but the other end of the sandwich was not beet red inside and looked done. She asked me if I would like a burger or something else. I decided on the burger. The burger was fine. I have never been to or worked for a restaurant that a manager didn't visit a table where the same dish was sent back TWICE! By the time I got the burger the other four people in our party were done eating . By the way, one of our friends also had to send back her steak because it was too tough. To top it all off I was shocked when I got my bill. The sausage sandwich platter I ordered was $10.99 and the burger platter was $11.99. Any other place I've ever been to or worked for would have taken the meal off our bill. Not Abbey's, they not only didn't take it off my bill, they charged me an extra dollar for their screw up. I think you need to hire a management staff that cares about the people who pay their salary, THE GUESTS WHO WALK THRU THE DOOR!
