Abbotsford House Guest House

This property has new owners who have ambitious plans. They are hugely helpful , going out of their way to make even my short stay great. The house has character, so if your looking for a generic, sterile, chain hotel room this is not for you. If you don't mind something that's quirky and unique then this is for you. Lovely garden to sit in too. Check out local Italian restaurant within walking distance too; quite superb.

Abbotsford had a feel of home with wonderful staff who spoiled me rotten. My room was clean and welcoming, and Florence's breakfast was excellent. The area is also quite and I felt safe at all times. Being a walking distance to Melrose arch was also a plus. Sandton was also only 15min away. Will return on another visit

I needed this accommodation for study purposes. It was a very comfortable, peaceful, relaxed and quiet place to be at to concentrate on my studies. The dinners were real, honest-to-goodness home-cooked meals. Wonderful to enjoy - one could taste real slow food made with care and time in a homey kitchen!!! Breakfasts were good.

My stay at the Abbotsford Guest House was a short but pleasant experience.||||The exceptional service and professionalism I was greeted with on arrival was world class.||The room was well kept and cleaned regularly without interference to my personal activities.||||Also the dinning room was graced with an OTTO BACH grand piano and for me as a music lover it made my day. Every morning before leaving the lodge after breakfast I played soft music which centered me and set the pace for the day.

Being in the business just a few small things we picked up. There was a top sheet on one bed and not on the other. The top sheet is preferable as it allows the guest to sleep under something when it is hot. The amenities in the bathroom were not full so we were not able to have a really lovely bubble bath.

Very comfortable, warm room, good heating. Cristel was very nice. She even gave me a lift to the Norwood mall when she was on her way to do her shopping. Very pleasant person. I will definitely stay again next time I'm in Johannesburg. Very convenient location, near to Rosebank businesses and shopping.

Excellent stay :-) Easy to find, centrally located - home from home - super hospitality (thanks Vanessa and Flo) - great upgrade to a HUGE bedroom and ensuite bathroom! Price is very reasonable and lovely, safe, tree lined suburbs to go running in. The 2 super friendly dogs are an added bonus!

I stayed at Abbotsford House during an extended layover. The owner & staff were extremely accommodating with my late (& further delayed arrival). The house is in a great location and decor gives it a homely feel.
