Abby By The River Hotel

Stayed here during trip to Ipoh Very strategic location and nearby to the places we wanted to visit I specifically like the way the room was designed- the stairs at the entrance very convenient to put the shoes that we don’t step into other parts our room with that when it’s at the same level. Spacious dressing table, lower bed and the view outside the window is a flowing river Seeing that especially early morning really calming The room and bathroom was clean and comfortable The deco in the room was simple and creative A TV was available in the room but we did not watch it. Definitely will opt to stay here during next visit

Plenty of parking space while I arrive, week days around 6pm. Staff is friendly while check in, I book superior king, but they give me family triple, the room is spacious, cleanliness is acceptable. I see ironing station and water dispensor machine at the corridor. Waking distance can also reach the famous chicken rice stall, yet at night, that area a bit dark and not merry. The only cons is my room facing main road, very noisy vehicle noise, and even until mid night. If you hard to get sleep with noice, request for room that not facing main road.

It's ok. Not amazing value. Not very clean. Quite run down and basic. But great location and staff were nice.

I don't really understand how this hotel can be rated as a 3-star hotel when it would be better described as 1-and-half-star. As an example, they force you to turn off the AC each time you leave, and in our room it literally took hours to lower the temperature and humidity to a comfortable level. The bathroom was half-broken as well.

The general structure of the building is very old and you can see the effort they put at the beginning but wasn’t well maintain through the time even though is really worth the price you pay. There is an incredible rooftop I hope they will fix and value again because it has a lot of potential, it would be just great to keep it neat with an outdoor kitchen available for customers. The noise of the cars from the street is very audible and yeah… noisy Overall… We liked the location very close to the old town and river park We have appreciated having a boiler for making coffee and tea The elevator was working well The receptionist was very human and smiley The aircon was working properly Wi-Fi always at the top Our stay at Abby by the river was okay for a couple of nights and it’s great for backpackers passing by. Service might need improve in this hotel. We come check in on 4pm but we was notified that the room is not ready due to late check out by previous guest. The receptionist also a house keeper. He need come up and down for administration task and room cleaning at the same time. It is a management problem. Location is ok as it is located in the old town of Ipoh. Air condition need service, we found dust stuck on the inner of air cond and it blade. Lead to slow cooling in the room. Cleanliness of the room so far we feel need improve, perhaps due to rushing task and short of worker, cleanliness unable to be catchup by them. Here provide a common water dispenser, not a water dispenser with hot and cold water.

Best nights sleep we have had in Malaysia. The room stays so dark as windows have shutters. SILENT air conditioning unit that’s powerful when you want it to blast. Super comfy bed. Lovely river view. Extended our stay here as we loved it so much. Saw otters and herons in the river from our room. Staff are so nice 👌🏼 Rooms are so clean 🧼 Lovely roof top chill area to enjoy 10/10 would highly recommend this hotel 💖
