This place is a mystery. It's a weird hole in the wall that looks like it's meant to exist decades ago, the menu is strange (more on that in a moment), and the food is better than it ought to be.
ABC Chinese Fast Food is likely being confused with ABC Seafood in Chinatown. However, they may actually be related (wholly speculating). The only evidence for this is this location having a delivery only menu on some apps that include dim sum. Those dishes cannot be ordered on site. Similarly, when I talked to the manager about options such as BBQ pork (which was an old combo item), I was told it had to be ordered online/in advance.
The menu is pretty small. It's pretty Chinese-American, but better than Panda Express. A few of the items are listed on the side of their building. Some dishes include beef and broccoli, spicy chicken, garlic pork/chicken, and teriyaki chicken. The only items made to order are the wonton and seafood soups. Both soups are the same except one has wonton and the other has a combination of shrimp and imitation crab.
So far, I've had the wonton soup, spicy chicken, and garlic pork. Wonton soup takes about 5 minutes to make and looks like they dumped their steamed veggies into a bowl of chicken broth and wontons. The wontons are small and spherical with the wrapper extending outward like at Hop Woo's in Chinatown. The veggies are way overcooked. Given how it's the steamed veggies that are boiled or microwaved in the soup a second time, this isn't surprising. The broth is mild but inoffensive. They provide soy sauce, sriracha, and lemon in the to-go. Adding the soy helped a lot. The garlic chicken and pork are just the protein cooked in the same sauce. The pork was bone-in (interestingly authentic) and pretty flavorful. It's mild in heat with a good garlic flavor. The real winner here is the spicy chicken. It looks like they hacked at the whole bird seemingly at random since I got dark meat, white meat, and a piece that was both! It's basically fried chicken with spicy salt. Normally we see this as pork chops, squid, or shrimp. The flavor is actually pretty amazing with the hit of heat on top of the saltiness.
Sides include white rice, fried rice, chow mein (usually ordered as choice of rice, chow mein, and entree), and the steamed vegetables. Two entree combo costs under $8.
