Interesting little place with great cafe downstairs and a wonderful bookshop upstairs. Locally made cakes and slices in the cafe. Highly recommend the carrot cake. (They only keep one slice in the display fridge but there is always more in the kitchen). Goooood coffee! Cosy seating available inside or if its a lovely day, there is seating outside in the pretty garden. Friendly staff and a wide variety of books to choose from catering for all ages and most interests. Old workings of the mill still on display and very pretty location.

Nicely situated bookshop with cafe downstairs which also has a lovely outside seating area good range of teas too. Nice place to sit though lunch menu is quite limited. Though better to do a few things well than over stretch yourself!

Bookshop excellent. Food looked good in the cafe but we never got to try it. We waited as instructed by the fireplace for a table. They led the people directly Infront of us to a table so knew we were next. The next free table came free and they completely skipped us in the queue and led the people behind us to the table. We were too polite to kick up a stink so just left. The young lad did it and i think he might have been oblivious, the lady clocked it but didn't say anything. Neither did the rude people behind us who knew exactly what happened. I felt really embarrassed. It's worth a visit I'm sure it doesn't happen often. But kind of ruined our little visit. We were really looking forward to it as well.

Lovely selection of books - both fiction and non-fiction. Nice to see different and quirky Scottish books for sale too. The gallery is worth a look, though prices are quite expensive. The cafe is also lovely. Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed inside the bookshop or cafe, so we were unable to stay as long as we'd have liked.

A story of two halves. The bookshop is fab, a real treasure trove and terrific for browsing. The cafe food was good but even though it was quiet the service was abysmal. Sadly this means I won't be back.

Wonderful selection of books, fresh sizable scones, and charming dogs. They kindly request you do not let your dog foul in the garden.

We have always made a point of visiting the Watermill Bookshop & Cafe when in Aberfeldy. You can always guarantee that you will receive a warm welcome in a very warm atmosphere. Not just because of the wood burner, but because the staff and building make it a great place to provide this vibe. We ordered tea and coffee with gluten free chocolate cake. We couldn’t have been more happy, everything was great and the chocolate cake was massive ! The book shop is amazing with a huge selection of books from Scotland which is a passion of mine and something that we Scots should not be ashamed off. Why does Scotland not do this more and stock just stuff from Scotland? The artwork was interesting with some amazing etchings , other work, well not so much. A great place with great staff in a great building, see you soon.

Yelp
Located in a refurbished, modern, 3 level watermill in the small rural town of Aberfeldy, The Watermill is a coffee shop, book shop and gallery - 3 in 1! The book shop, split over 2 levels is really quite extensive for such a quirky place, with popular fiction, non fiction (including lots of local reading material), a childrens' room and an interesting travel section in the coffee shop area. The coffee shop is by far the best in Perthshire that I have found, boasting a small but delicious menu of homemade cakes (try their granola bars) and soup. In 2002 Aberfeldy became Scotland's 1st 'fair trade' town and this is reflected in the list of coffee that is available. Seating is available outside on the terrace in the warmer months and the wood buner glows in the coffee shop when it's chilly. The gallery showcases well-respected artists and is usually of a contemporary nature. Plenty of parking nearby, clearly signposted, helpful, friendly staff and above all a very relaxing place to sit with a newspaper in one hand and a latte in the other.

Yelp
A wonderful, charming bookshop/cafe/exhibition space oozing with character. I can't recommend this place enough if you find yourself at a loose end in Aberfeldy - it's wonderful. The bookshop is amazing in its own right with a range of books that far exceeds your highstreet bookstore. There's also a huge emphasis on local talent, with Scottish authors at the forefront of each section of books. The cafe is brilliant. We had a light lunch of a roll each. I punted for the goats cheese and beetroot combo and truth be told, it was one of the best sarnies I've ever eaten. We also received a huge pot of fresh mint tea - just delightful. The cake selection was also impressive with numerous gluten free options however we didn't have room leftover. I can't wait to get back to this place!

Yelp
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent at the Watermill yesterday. We were in Aberfeldy to visit the distillery and decided to stop in at the bookstore in the town -- glad we did! It's a beautiful building and a great place to browse for books and art. There is a wide selection of books to choose from, with plenty of local interest, along with a range of music and a lovely gallery space on the top floor. We didn't have time to sample the food and drink but we may well be back. Congratulations to whoever was responsible for the design and conversion of this old mill.

Yelp
This is a great place to stop for a snack or lunch if you're in the area. There's not a huge choice (perhaps a few more options would be good, including more vegetarian dishes) but what we chose was excellent, freshly made and delicious. The staff were very helpful and happy to alter a couple of things on the menu (I wanted to have cheese instead of ham and extra salad instead of bread). My husband loved the soup and the coffees were gorgeous too. If we'd had more time on our trip the other day we'd have tried some of the cakes on offer but that will have to be on our next visit!! The bookshop and gift area are nice to browse as well and the whole place is laid out most attractively. I'm sure we'll go straight there when we're in Aberfeldy again during the next month or two.

Yelp
I always try and stop at the watermill when in Aberfeldy. The cafe/book shop is situated in an old watermill (as the name suggests!) and is always very cosy and welcoming. The lower floor is where the cafe is and the tables are in amongst all the books which means you can browse the books as you eat a nice slice of cake. While on the subject of cake I recommend trying a slice, they always have a different selection when I've been in and they've always been really nice! I highly recommend giving this place a visit!

Yelp
Great wee place tucked down a side street, so easily missed as you drive through the town. The bookstore has been set in the old mill and much of the original features and character of the building remains. There's a gallery upstairs that has some pricey prints on offer and a very nice coffee shop downstairs. Would give it 5 stars but wasn't convinced by the king prawn plate with grapefruit salsa I had for lunch! Well worth a visit.

Yelp
Great bookshop with loads of local authors and tourism titles. They also have a really good little gallery with different artists showing regularly. The coffee shop is okay but the coffee took quite a while to arrive and was okay. Their range of cakes was quite limited, mainly in packets and the only food they had was soup although it was quite nice.
