A great university in the UK. The environment is nice and healthy with beautiful scenery and mountainous walkways. Their rooms are classic and their security is second to none. I love the artwork and the art center. It was open throughout my stay. Kudos to the leadership for maintaining higher standards over the years.

Fantastic venue, really good. The Frank Skinner show was brilliant. Had a great night.

Aberystwyth Arts centre is a marvellous place to visit the cinema and theatre or attend a concert or comedy show. There is a new website giving details of all performances. The box office there allows you to buy tickets and book in advance. The cinema film experience is particularly good. There is also a cafe serving food and drink with a great view over Aberystwyth and the sea from the elevated position on the Aberystwyth University campus on Penglais, the main North road out of Aberystwyth.

Lovely large bright place with lots of helpful staff and a great art exhibit by John Hedley when we were there. We also had a great hot lunch in the cafeteria at a very reasonable price.

Haven't been here for nearly 40 years. The bell tower hasn't changed. Coffee was good, staff good, some of the student customers half soaked... clean cafe.

As a venue I was nicely surprised, parking, access etc were good, toilets also...auditorium seats seemed comfortable enough, but we did leave at the interval....we saw Sara Millican, the tickets were a gift from my step son and his girlfriend, who had seen her last year at a different venue...I was expecting her to be, as usual, crude and totally uninhibited, which she was...I also expected her to be funny...which she wasn't...we weren't shocked, been around the block a bit, just didn't find her funny...I'm guessing half the audience felt the same...

Went to see Queenz, what a fabulous evening!! The Arts Centre is an amazing venue. Love that it has a gallery to display art and even a cinema! The show was absolutely amazing! Queenz had you up out of your seat singing and dancing with a positive message.

Regular visitor over the years always call in to the cafe and shop. Seating in the venue has plenty of legroom (6'1") with no restricted views.

Yelp
Provincial little Aberystwyth punches well above its weight, culturally speaking. The Arts Centre is its solid left hook. Aber's a small town, and the single-track railway and the windy roads can make it feel even more remote than the map suggests. But it never feels small-minded or "towny", largely due to the presence of the university. And the Arts Centre is a huge part of the university (though all the Arts Centre facilities are completely open to Joe Public). Here are five things which make it worth the trek up the hill: 1. The cinema. It generally shows more arty fare than you'll find at the Commodore, and in a more luxurious - if less charming - setting. They even have some impressive 3D facilities, which are regularly put to use for matinee performances of Pixar and the like. 2. The theatre. It hosts some surprisingly big names of music, stage and stand-up comedy. Though it's a small venue, so get tickets early. 3. The photography exhibits. To my untrained eye, these appear to vary wildly in quality. But definitely look out for the annual Wildlife Photographer of the Year collection. Amazing stuff. 4. A cute little arts/crafts shop. It's slightly over-priced, but it serves well for that emergency gift when you've forgotten your Mum's birthday. Again. 5. The coffee shop. This may be last on the list, but it's the real highlight for me. The coffee's great. The selection of cake is extremely impressive. The prices are pretty good. But the real kicker is the view - while you sip your espresso you can take in some of the finest vistas Aberystwyth has to offer. And if you time it for sunset, you're in for a real treat.

Yelp
The art centre has plenty of things to offer, from a great cinema showing the latest films, shops selling gifts for everyone and a theatre which reagulary puts on shows/ The art centre is also a great place to meet up and have a good sit down, weather to sit chat, work together or enjoy the food and drink on offer. With hot meals, freshly made sandwiches and fresh cakes at really cheap prices it makes it a prime location for people to meet up. With a great view overlooking most of aberystwyth, and freindly staff, it makes a great place for grabbing lunch.

Yelp
Bringing together 'town and gown' in a pleasant arts environment has been one of the key successes of the Arts Centre. Situated on the University campus, it also appeals to the local community, hosting fantastic exhibitions, theatre productions, orchestral and choral performances. It also has a cinema for those not wanting to visit the slightly grubby looking one downtown! Their hot chocolate is to die for, and it's the perfect place to get together with friends, read your book, swot for exams or just hang out in a wonderful environment. Their food and cakes aren't half bad either!

Yelp
If you can get up the hill, it's not a bad place to be. I tried to walk there but soon decided that the map in my head was not good enough, when back to the Station and got a cab. That at £3.50 was well worth it after seeing the hill I would have climbed in the time I had. The Arts Centre is a lively place with what seemed a lot of things to do and with a cafe and a bar you need not go unwatered. The exhibition I when to see was well put together.

Yelp
I love this art centre, it has it all. Good gallery spaces, coffee shops, bar, outdoor area, shop, and a cinema. It is right by the uni and becasue of this has a great young vibe about it, full of life. They always have great exhibitions on, ceramics paintings photographic etc. There is a lovely carfe overlooking the front of the building and the sea. There are rooms where classes like ballet are held, not that ive taken part in any classes. The cineam shows a wide range of films, from art house, to blackbusters. A realy great place, its a raly cozy cinema, just how they should be, not this massive corporate madness, of massive cineworlds etc, selling you extorsionate popcorn that taste like crap just becasue thatas the only way they make their money.. with managers running around, with walkie talkies! give me an art centre anyday. The bar is near the enterence to cinema so you can enjoy a realxing drink before going in. there is also a gorgeous outdoor area whit rasied balcony area where you can take your drinks. In the summer times they have events out on the lawned area, with various things including colourscape, my favourate of them! the big inflatable colour dome thing you walk around inside of!! truly breath taking! they also hold many great film events for example the ffresh film festival, of welsh gradate films! This is brilliant event, and show cases the best students films from around wales every year

Yelp
At the top of Penglais Hill, looking down to the seashore, sits the Aber Arts Centre. Nestled amongst other buildings on the Aberystwyth University campus, the Arts Centre is the cultural hub of this stretch of Mid Wales coastline. The cinema shows the most up-to-date programmes, including some off-mainstream films during the annual Wales One World Festival. The dance and theatre programme is innovative and the auditorium attracts the biggest name acts to come to these parts. Regular art and photography exhibitions are always worth checking out, especially as they often include the work of local artists. But, if you're not up for much culture, check out the book and art shops, go to the bar for a drink, or the café for some coffee and a sandwich.

Yelp
Don't go on a Saturday or a weekday between 3.30 and 5pm. Full of kids running around screaming. On Saturdays the cafe is given over to being a changing room for little girls. Surprising the Centre puts up with this. Little girls running around scantily clad in leotards at best. Then they strip them off and stroll about the cafe bare topped or at best in pants and kiddie 'bras'. How is this allowed? Shocking really that the mums do this and the Arts Centre allows it. Also the 'hot' food was served lukewarm and by the time we had queued it was cold.

Yelp
Nice cafe and little shop, especially at christmas when there are some lovely craft stalls, but worth a look at any time of year. Nice views from the cafe too, especially at sunset. I love a wander around one of the exhibitions and then stopping for a drink - a lovely way to spend a free afternoon! Great cinema for film too, I've seen some really unusual stuff that I would never normally have seen.

Yelp
The Art's centre is a fantastic addition to both the University and to the town itself because it has a cafe, cinema, shops and a fairly big theatre room! The staff are a very mixed bunch and there are a number who don't seem that interested, but for the most part they are polite and helpful. The cinema shows a very eclectic mix of films but be sure to keep an out because they show some absolute classics as part of the film club. I saw Rambo their and it was a great experience. The only real downer in the whole building is the shop, which has a good selection of cds and dvds at what quite frankly are ludicrous prices.

Qype User (YAWSmi…)

Yelp
The cafe was a bit messy, lots of plates and cups that had been left out and it wasn't that busy. But the coffee and cakes were cheap £8.95 for; 2 teas, 2 coffees, caramel slice, muffin & pecan slice. Really nice little shop near by loads of random cool gifts, but they were selling a random old DVDs for £20

Yelp
Great little shop and really nice cafe with yummy home-cooked food and sandwiches. They have some great events throughout the year. This includes cinema, music and art exhibitions.
