Abington Depot

I was so impressed with this restaurant! We did takeout and it was done quickly. The inside of the restaurant is so cute. I can’t wait to dine in. I got the bbq chicken wrap and it was great! The fries were so good too. We also got a pizza and really enjoyed it. The crust is thicker and buttery.

It's the best place to eat in Abington. Comfort pub food with some above average entrees. Nothing fussy here but whats done is done well. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the ambience is charming. Great place to have a beer and watch a game or to just have a casual meal in a fun pleasant and peaceful place.

A cozy sit down restaurant with bar. Came for dinner and ordered 2 drinks each; Cranberry Mule, Pomegranate Martini, and beers. The Depot Sampler and Clam chowder was a good start to our meals. The Depot Sampler came with a choice of 3 items, we chose the loaded Nachos, Beaver Skins and Fried Pickles. Definitely recommended. The Clam chowder was hearty and had clams in each bite. The drinks were well balanced but only thing missing was the cranberry flavor in the Mule. The entrees were a little disappointing considering the appetizer was good. The steak and risotto was a little bit salty and when we told the waiter, they nodded their head and went to serve other tables. The rice bowl was pretty standard with the highlight being the house made sauce that was also used in the Depot Sampler. Wednesday nights they had live activities which could be enjoyed and they also have Touchtunes to select your own music which was a nice touch. Overall would come back for certain items and the drinks. They also have Touchtunes to select your own music which was nice.

Stopped in for lunch.. our first time.. sooo good! Cutest little bartender ever named Jessie.. she was spot on with service and running her bar. Our food was wonderful.. the clam chowder was outstanding.. not all potatoes like many other places. We both opted for the Philly cheesesteak. His on a sub roll mine in a wrap and both so yummy. We will be back for sure.. so many things on the menu looked FAB. Thank you to the entire staff for making our dining experience the best.

Wow what an awesome gem we found. Never been before so we were out and about and decided to give it a go. I am so glad we did! From the moment we stepped into this friendly cozy atmosphere we felt ready to dive into the food and test this place out. We sat at the bar and we're promptly made to feel right at home with servers Matt and James. Matt immediately took our order when we were ready. Friendly conversation and lots of laughs were had throughout the night. Reminded me like a Cheers environment..definitely someplace we will definitely be visiting more often. Now the food! I ordered the margarita pizza as it's my favorite and I've yet to find one outside the original Pizza Regina (north end original)...BUT this pizza smashed it out of the park with a grand slam over the wall. Perfectly cooked crust...fresh tomatoes...plenty of basil and the cheese mix was perfect!! Do not mess with this pizza recipe...it's the best all around!! My hubby ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich...again another delicious masterpiece. Steak cooked to perfection...proper amount of cheese and veggies! The toasted roll it was on was heaven...I forgot to ask what type of bread it was but it tasted like it was made on premise in house. So with our taste buds quenched and full belly's. ..we sat to enjoy some convo , play some keno and enjoy a fresh cold draft beer. We met some awesome people there such as Peter who listened to our reviews on this place and how we had such an amazing experience...we learned so much about the history behind the place and how it's family run environment listens to their patrons making them feel part of the family. Matt and James were the dynamic duo behind the bar...thanks for the laughs but most of all your impeccable service to your patrons. Bravo Abington Depot...you deserve a 6 star review...so here it is 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 We'll be back to try out the rest of your tempting menu and amazing specials menu!! Margherita pizza was awesome. They are trying to work out the kinks on all their other pizzas though... Philly Cheese and Fries very good too. Great Service, great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

This pic was an eggplant caprese appetizer that we got. I could have eaten 3 of these. It was really good. The Cajun steak tips were unbelievable. Cooked perfectly and just enough spice. Haven't been in in a while, but I will be back soon.

Well it was our first time here and it was wonderful. Sat at the var with the sweetest, cutest little bartender Jessie.. she was as pleasant as could be from the moment we sat down. We started with sharing a bowl of AMAZING CLAM CHOWDER! Asked for it piping hot and it was just perfect.. not loaded with potatoes like most.. and so very tasty!! We both opted for the Philly cheesesteak.. mine in a wrap and his on a sub roll! We asked for red peppers instead of green and the kitchen was more than happy to accommodate us. Both were delicious and had FF and a great pickle! We will definitely be back.. the bar was fun with lots of people all chatting and having fun! Thank you to all those who made our lunch a memorable one.

The Depot is back baby! I'm so glad this place reopened after closing a while back. It's a really cool spot that used to be a train station and all of the old architecture of the building has been preserved. My friends and I came here the weekend they reopened after we went bowling in town. They gave us complimentary appetizers (buffalo chicken tenders & potato skins) after they made too many in the kitchen. They were a nice treat! For my dinner, I ordered the greek chicken wrap. It was delicious! Good portion size, fresh ingredients and an ample amount of good greek dressing (I hate it when there's not enough and you can't taste the dressing). The fries tasted like they came from fresh potatoes, not frozen. I have a feeling we'll be frequenting this place often!

Hi, why is EVERYTHING SO SALTY OMG. I keep giving you a shot and you kill my cholesterol. Please lay off the salt I'm begging you. I can't come here again. It's been a year since I came last hoping it would be better and my lips are dry and shriveled from the salt.

Bar food, it is as good! Good for families. Ok beer selection. Chicken Cesar wrap and as yummy! Clam chowder was pretty thick.

Love the Depot, I've been coming here since childhood and it's such a comfort place. It's under new ownership, so glad it's living on! The inside is all redone and looks great. I got a lobster roll to go and it completely hit the spot. Service is always so great, definitely recommend

We have been going to this neighborhood restaurant regularly for a while now. Tonight was my typical Caesar salad- just perfect, and a cheese pizza with extra cheese, delicious. Hubby had the special - prime rib, and it was truly wonderful! Delicious, and a huge portion of perfectly cooked meat! We are bar people and the bar staff are terrific! Prices are very reasonable too! You won't be disappointed!

Great neighborhood bar with friendly staff. Cool old train station...so close to the tracks the building shakes once during your dinner! They have a varied menu and it is kid friendly. My husband loved the tips and chicken combo and my chicken quesadilla was excellent. Decent prices for wine. All in all a great neighborhood gem!

Hadn't been here in years. Hopefully not years before we go again. Service was excellent and server super friendly. Food was good especially App platter. Drinks were very good. The only real negative was it was very loud and difficult to have conversation. Keep in mind we were in the bar section as that's where our reservation put us. Maybe quieter on other side. Went to dinner but would like to try brunch

The depot is a great place for the kids and family. It is very friendly and my son runs into his friends a lot there. The service is great and the food like the burgers, fish and steak tips are very good. Over all it's not some gordan ramsey resturant but it is very cute and clean. I have gone their many times and there is a bar but everyone know what to do and keep their distant from the people really eating.

The Carbonara with Chicken is amazing . Enuff for two meals ! The cream sauce with bacon just smoky enuff !

Was on my list to try. It was nearly a year ago now since we went & never went back. I ordered the Shepards pie & I received a dinner plate with fried ground beef with a few peas & a side of mash. That is what it was, fried ground beef. The chef didn't even try to make it look any different than what it was. He just threw ground beef into a pan, fried & served it like that, no gravy, nothing. I didn't write a review as we were thinking that it looked like the chef may have left early & the bar guy was trying to cover for him. It was an hour before closing on a Sunday night and the place was ptetty empty, Well obviously we never went back after that.

Pizza needs a lot of work. More and better options in the area. Very greasy burnt cheese that is under cooked.

Went for dinner with friends and kids. The service was good, the food was good but the hostess / manager was very rude. At one point she came to our table and took the ketchup bottle out of my kids hand and removed it from the table. She said "he's had enough ketchup". When I asked to speak to the manager she said "I am the manager, and I don't want your kid wasting my ketchup." We will not be returning. depot

Don't believe the options provided it clearly states TAKEOUT but if you actually try and call for take out the very rude unprofessional staff will literally just hang up on you. This has happened to me over 5 times but I just call back cause F YOU do your job a-hole but tonight I was hung up on and then they just let it ring until I gave up. Aside from that I went in there couple weeks ago with my gf. I ordered a med well burger and got a burnt patty that was pink on the inside and my gf ordered a fried chicken sandwich and got a grilled chicken sandwich which apparently was awful so she ended up just eating a lettuce sandwich. Never once have I been disrespectful or rude and still gave a %20 tip even though all our food was bad... So yeah pretty eager to watch this place go under with this toilet bowl service cause I literally live across the street LOL Talk about a business crapping in its own sandbox...

Really cool spot by the railroad to grab a drink. I love the atmosphere of this place and the bartender was a lot of fun. I'd definitely return for drinks and to try the food.

Got a prime rib sandwich and it had two slices of beef jerky like meat. My husband got a BLT wrap and it had one slice of bacon. What a rip off!

Was very impressed with the pizza. We got a small sausage and jalepeno. Good spot for non bar pizza.

Was hopefull to try the filet mignon and was served with 2 disappointments I asked for the steak medium and was served with well done at first then was served a med well by the time I got into the steak it cooked touph hopefull for a round 2 maybe just a bad day for the cook because everyone else's food was on point this was just a sad experience for a filet and until round 2.

I don't know what happened to this place but my husband and I decided to eat there this evening after finding out that D'Anns was closed. To say that our meals were sub par is an understatement. It was one of the worst meals I've had in many years. He picked the scallops broiled with bacon and cheese. He was still hungry after eating his tiny portion of food which was so so. I ordered the evening "special" which was Prime Rib cooked medium rare. What I got was a piece of shoe leather that was so difficult to chew I had to concede after my first bite. It was medium and so tough. I sent it back for a filet mignon. What a joke. Chefs, don't offer foods on your menu if you don't know how to cook them. $80+ later we left. I feel like I've been robbed! Not sure I'll ever go back

First time here. Very cute atmosphere in an old train station. Had nachos and cosmos so I can't speak for the rest of the menu but those were good. Train comes by right behind the bar which is kind of neat. I'd go back for sure!

Finally got to try one of the Abington dining spots that I've been wanting to go to both here and the Abington Ale House . They have a good outdoor patio . I had one if the best clam chowders that I've had in a long time other than the Seafood chowder at Fresh Catch Mansfield which is tough to beat . For dinner I had an incredible Meatloaf and Garlic Mashed . The portion was so huge I had to take it home . The only negative were that the Baileys on the Rocks I ordered was hardly existent in the plastic cup . I definitely will return .

Ate there two weeks ago on a Saturday night , ordered the tips and chicken. I must have misunderstood the waitress because my chicken came out grilled with no sauce, it was very dry, and all I got were 3 teriyaki steak tips. I didn't like the sides so I ordered French fries, which were skimpy too. I left most of the dry chicken, the 3 steak tips were amazing, their fries crispy. Next time I'll order the steak tip dinner. I'm sure I'll enjoy it more .

Loudest restaurant I have ever been to. I don't mind a party atmosphere but when my husband can't hear me speaking across a small table, it's too damn loud. It was only 6:15 on a Saturday so we weren't hitting the big drinking crowd yet but people were literally screaming at one another across the bar. We couldn't wait to get the hell out of there!!!

Worth going to just for the steak tips and loaded mashed potatoes. They come BBQ, Teriyaki or Cajun. The Cajun are!

The serice was fanastic, the quality of food was low and the noise level on the high side. This is with only two tables used and 1/4 the bar full. At 1/2 full on bar and 1/2 full on resturant this place would not be bareable with the noise level. They definately need noise canceling tiles on the ceiling as having a conversation with anyone who talks at a normal converstation level would be unheard sitting 2 feet away.

This is one of my top favorite small Mom and Pop restaurants/bar. Everything they serve is fresh and the portions are huge. Specials are delicious. Drinks are always made perfectly. Warm and cozy. Always feel at home! Love it!

Went to dinner here for the first time on Friday night. Wished I had come ages ago!! Got the Prime Rib and my GF got the Steak Tips. Everything was delicious. Strong & tasty martini's. Cool old building, fun bar area to hang and play a little keno.

I love the Depot! Drinks are poured strong, food is served with a smile, and all my good girlfriends are waitresses and bartenders there!!! Very cool old train depot building and when the train goes roaring by it scares the crap out of you. Check it out if you are in the area. You won't be sorry.

My Dad and I stopped in for a little late lunch on a Saturday, probably around 3:30 or 4:00 PM. The place was dead as a doornail. There were about 3 people at the bar (and later on, what i can only describe as some sort of hillbilly bachelorette party... but that's for another time). The service here was good, nothing outstanding, but they got the food out quickly, refilled the drinks. No complaints, so that's more than most restaurants. I went with a burger, given the look of the place, I figured it'd be the safest bet. My Dad went with the cup of Clam Chowder. His Clam Chowder was great, my burger was hit-or-miss. It certainly wasn't a burger I'd run back to get in the near future, but it was good enough to finish. The whole place just left me with a really meh experience. I loved being next to the track, especially when the train rumbled by, but wouldn't it be neat to actually be able to see it? Ya... so... nothing wrong with the place, but nothing to write home about either.

Wife and I moved to Abington a little over a year ago. Since then, we haven't been lucky with the local restaurant scene with most hitting on the bar scene and missing on the food, or the other way around. So, when we stopped by the Depot yesterday afternoon for lunch, we were thrilled to find a place that nails it. It's located in a beautiful, historical building with stone walls and high, wooded ceilings. It used to be a train station, way back when, but has since been converted. The railroad tracks behind the building are still active so when a train rumbles by (when the T is working), the whole building shakes. Pretty cool! It was just about luppertime, 2 PM. We got there and were seated immediately on the bar side in a comfortable booth. It wasn't crowded, but the bar was full. The menu isn't huge and offers your typical bar fare: apps, pizza, burgers, sandwiches. Even though we didn't opt for the daily specials, they looked good with fresh ingredients. The waitress, Kathy, promptly came over with a smile and took our drink order and came back in a short time. Wife had ordered a bottle of Bud; she delivered draft. No biggie, beer is beer. I got Sierra Nevada, draft (good, not great beer selection). She then took our food order: cup of cream of broccoli soup, grilled chicken sandwich w/ fries, buffalo chicken sandwich w/ onion rings. About 10-15 minutes later she brought the food over. No soup. But Kathy realized and brought over a cup immediately. We both agreed the food was delicious. Definitely fresh, delivered hot and tasted great. The soup was creamy and and made with fresh broccoli. Both chicken sangies were cooked perfectly. Nice sear on the grilled and nice crunch on the fried. Both rolls and toppings were fresh. After we finished, Kathy came over and apologized for slightly missing our order. At this point, the food and service more than made up for the errors! She gave us the bill and we realized she hadn't charged us for Wife's soup or beer. UNACCEPTABLE Kathy!! We gladly paid for the entire meal and handed the bill directly to Kathy on our way out. The Depot is a local joint with typical fare, but the excellent customer service and casual atmosphere will bring Wife and I back time and again. Thank you, Kathy!!

One of my favorite townie, local hangout type places. This is definitely a townie bar, but everyone that comes in receives friendly and attentive service. Its a warm, cozy, welcoming place and you can't help me reminded of what it was in its earlier life as trains will occassionally go wizzing by. I can understand some of the less than positive reviews on some of the entrees. They can be hit or miss. However, for pizza, burgers, chili and appetizers it never misses. The nachos are fantastic (probably some of the best I have ever had), the beer selection is really great and they make a heathy (strong) cocktail! One of the best things about the Depot is how much they give back to and support their community. They are a fabulous business and I am happy to park my butt on a stool and support them (with nachos..)

In a few words .... Don't eat here In detail. I went here since I'd only been here once many years ago, and didn't have much opinion either way. The building itself is nice, inside and out, and me and my family went in on a Sunday night and were sat right away, with what seemed like 20 or so locals hanging around watching the football game. There was what appeared to be only one waitress, so service was slow. I will say however, she was nice, good at her job and while we had to wait for attention, she checked in, and was good at what she did, so I tipped her well as a result. The FOOD poor, cheap, disappointing. I ordered friend haddock, garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. My haddock was clearly something out of a freezer bag and slapped on a plate, my mashed potatoes were closer to soup, weren't even edible, and my "steamed" broccoli was raw. I paid $16 for this meal, and that's why my review is so poor. It's too bad because I'd like to have another local place to mix into the restaurants I visit, and it'd be nice if I didn't have to frequent the chain restaurants as much, but after that meal, I won't be back.

Went to the depot for dinner this evening with my wife and 88 year old mother in law. My mother in law sort of has a hard time getting up and down sometimes so while she was trying to seat herself our waitress rolled her eyes. our waitress was very short with my mother in law and that right there bothered my wife and I. Our waitress took our drink order and my mother in law ordered her dinner as she was very hungry, we ordered an appetizer. our waitress didn't come back to check on us for about 15 minutes. when she finally did, my wife and I ordered our meals. Our appetizer and my mother in laws meal came and both were eaten and once again, no sign of our waitress. after waiting for almost 45 minutes for our dinners, they came out as we were getting ready to leave so we told them to take them off our bill and we paid and left. My wife and I had first come here just one week ago and had a delicious meal, don't know what happened in a week but tonight was awful!

Good wings, pizza and other pub food, for sure...but food waits are hit or miss here for some reason. A couple of times I've had a long wait on "not too busy" a night.

Things I like about the Depot are the comfortable atmosphere & it is in a very cool building. It's a nice place to meet friends for drinks and perhaps an appetizer, but I would go elsewhere for a fancy dinner, since they definitely serve bar food there... but hey, the drinks are great, the staff is very nice & friendly, they have a Trivia night, Keno and are open until 1 am.

Gone to the Depot 6x in the last 6 months, each time the food was worse than the last time. Not sure who the cook is but everything is overcooked. We have tried the fish (rubbery) the pork chop (not even edible/burnt) steak (ordered med/rare) came out med/well. Sides are always the same - if you order a baked potato, your meal ends up coming out with rice. The staff is young, however very attentive and polite. Certainly not the servers fault the food is bad. The drinks are about the only thing good about this place. Better a Pub than a restaurant.

Went today well I guess I'm not a regular so you get treated differently guess that's why they won't get my return business. We weren't offered a bread basket. I don't know maybe the waitresses were late so the bartender served us and we sat in the restaurant food was mediocre extra charge for onions really.

Fine if you're stopping in for a brew and some bar food (their pizza's not bad and the bartender is a nice guy) but don't make the same mistake I made and order the fish. Inedible. It was a holiday and maybe they don't serve it regularly or something, but it was just plain bad.

Great atmosphere. Steak tips are a must order. Pizza is great. Hot rolls. KENO is good but I have yet to have a big casher...oh well...the big one will come some day i hope...great onion soup too

We have been here a couple of times, and order take-out about once a month. We just enjoy it. My husband loves the cajun chicken sandwich! I've had the fish and chips which were great one time and dry one time. I really liked the buffalo chicken sandwich the first time I had it but the second time it was horrible! The greek salad with chicken is good too. The service is always good, but the last time we were in our food took forever and the place was nearly empty. We love the fact that it is in an old train station.

Good food, great drinks, friendly staff! I will be back. The pretzel stix app was great and my burger was delicious.

I'm never impressed. The staff is nice but always seems rushed, the food takes so long to come out, & it's always never that good, underseasoned and overcooked. I've gone back a few times to give it another chance & try something new & I'm always disappointed. The bacon on the potato skins is actual bacon bits.

Great local food! Deals on pizza on certain nights, friendly atmosphere, great service. I've tried many different items on the menu and have yet to be disappointed.

We live a little more than an hour away and were in the area for the Zombie Apocalypse event (highly recommended by the way) and wanted to find a local restaurant/pub for dinner and drinks after and with the help of Yelp came across this place. We had a group of 7 on a Saturday night and they were able to seat us within a couple of minutes. The waitress wasted no time gathering our drink order and then our food order shortly after. Our food arrived within a reasonable time and was very warm and good! It had a "home style" presentation and the flavor to match! We all enjoyed our meals and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a welcoming townie bar. Good food, good drinks, and friendly people. Oh also the building is on the list of protected historical structures and is a really cool old train depot. Lots of character all around!

Service and bartenders were attentive. I was embarrassed that they had to bring me the food they did. Pizza was soggy with olive oil, and the quesadilla lazily made. I don't use the adjective "horrid" much. Clearly the cooks just didn't care about the food. I'm disappointed that I paid for the meal that I received. I left my doggie bag with the Bartender.
