From high-quality paper to an extensive range of brushes, they have it all. The store is well-organized, making it easy to find what you’re looking for. The staff is exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable, offering relevant advice whenever needed. The prices are fair for the quality, and the overall shopping experience is convenient and accessible. My daughter bought me a gift of mother/daughter wine & paint night. Had a terrific time. Although I can brush up on my painting skills, the instructor was very thorough and patient and very skilled! What a great idea. Highly recommended!

Employees were lovely and helpful, the store feels a little cramped but that's not their fault. The prices were very reasonable and with the student discount they offered even better, no complaints.

This will be one of my go-to stores for specific art supplies due to the variety and pricing compared to other art stores. Also, the staff is always helpful to help you make decisions on products you are not familiar with.

This store on Dundas has lots of supplies and a good variety but the initial reaction is ....the customer is a "bother". Unfriendly and generally not interested in your needs. This is not the first time I have bought supplies here. Just a lousy, uninspired, low energy experience

Giving 1 star because I can't give 0 (yelp won't let you) Honestly WORST customer service I have ever experienced both in store, online ordering and on the phone. After month 2 of waiting and calling (the shop is literally 10 mins from me I Had a commission overdue ) I waited 3plus months for an order to arrive and when I called I was told purolator had destroyed my package (when in a call earlier that day they had said it was "on the way") Im all about supporting local but with the way I was treated id rather just order off amazon or go to Walmart. Today I decided to give them another chance in store I asked for supply on paint markers and was shown a dirty used cardboard box under the till with only white black and red available. When I asked if they would recommend anything for my piece I'm working on the cashier shrugged and said "I dunno" then went on to say I should shop somewhere else.. the neighbouring art store was closed. Would NEVER recommend anyone waste any time in this dump. I hope they go out of business.

Above Ground is a good place for art supplies, picture frames, etc. The space is tight and stacked to the ceiling, but things are organized and clearly priced. They have very good customer service here. The staff here are usually friendly and know where to find things. If they don't have it, they can order it for you or check their other locations. Parking is on the street and is usually available out front. The location is also very convenient to the Dundas and Keele bus routes, as it is located just steps from this corner. Prices are just average, but they do have frequent sales on select items.

Good spot, I picked up everything I needed for my new set of paintings. Fair prices too.

I really like Above Ground - lots of excellent products and fair prices. I have had many poor service experiences in the Junction Above Ground however. Really disinterested, not taking the time to help or show you things, creating an atmosphere that makes it seem like the customer is bothering them by being there - it's disappointing because it's such a good store. I continue to go here as it is in my neighbourhood but the service unfortunately makes me not usually enjoy the experience.

If you know exactly what you want then it's a great place. If you are dropping in to browse than expect to be overwhelmed. If you are claustrophobic then you should probably pass.

staff need to get over themselves. unhelpful until asked, responses dripping with thinly veiled impatience and condescension. if you are in the junction, i suggest Articulations instead, where the staff are genuinely helpful.
