When AbracadaBar first opened, I felt it was a welcome addition to the BoardWalk - having replaced the generic Seashore Sweets' and filling the void of having a proper bar in the area (I don't count Jellyrolls because that place is just ridiculous). I've been a fan of it since the jump, and since we had some time before our reservation at Flying Fish, my friend and I thought it would be a great time to check it out and grab a drink.
AbracadaBar is located in a prime area between Flying Fish and Trattoria al Forno - there are actually walkways to each restaurant as well as a proper main entrance, so traffic flow is really good. This is important because the space isn't large - the interior has stool seating and then there are a few other lounge-style seats throughout the space. Additionally, they have some outside seating - though to capture the full feel I would suggest sitting inside if you can.
As suggested by the name, the bar is magic themed; the decor and aesthetics give off that feel with a darker color scheme - lots of dark Earth tones, reds, golds, etc. There are also a lot of Easter eggs in the space - the bartender was pointing some out in the wallpaper, there's definitely more than meets the eye here. I heard that the servers perform "magic tricks" but I didn't witness that during my visit. Even though the theming runs the risk of it being kinda tacky or kitschy, I applaud them for executing the magic theme in a tasteful way that appeals to the adult crowd this place targets.
We decided to get two rounds - I got the Black Manhattan which was quite good, definitely a step above a regular one. For round 2 I went basic and got an Aperol Spritz which was as good as any other one I've had elsewhere. We we seated at the bar so we got a chance to interact with the bartenders as they were mixing drinks - I'll say this is where the experience was truly memorable as the team were super engaging. They did an excellent job making drinks while also having some great conversation with us and the other patrons sitting at the bar.
Overall, I had a really great experience at AbracadaBar - the drinks were good, the aesthetics were on-point, and the service was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to return here the next time I'm on the BoardWalk, and recommend anyone in the area to check it out.
