A good brunch venue with a unique flavour profile that was delicious. We were the first here on a Wednesday morning, and the service was good. We had two flat whites which were very tasty alongside the eggs and bacon on toast, and the French toast with bacon. The chef had forgotten the bacon but this was cooked and corrected within minutes. This had been recommended both in a blog and a visit New Zealand book, and we certainly would recommend a visit. The French toast came with coconut yoghurt and homemade compote which had an Indian spice taste. These were great additions to breakfast!!

Cute cafe! A separate vegan menu stole our hearts. Plenty of options! Delicious food and good value for money. Our dishes were really generous. Lovely staff and ambiance♡♡. Has a deck very well protected from the cold, with heaters and see through plastic curtains. The owner clearly put thought into every little corner. Yummy but still healthy, smoothies, mains, salads and cabinet food. Will be back!

Staff were lovely and sweet. Our food was so yummy and the presentation was 10/10. We went back again next day for drinks for our drive back home and would definitely go back again. Lovely people and service, very welcoming.

Such quick service and some of the best South American/ Mediterranean style cuisine I've had EVER. Waitresses are very friendly and host quickly. The food is very reasonably priced and they give Huge portions. NZ Must Do check!

Really nice. Can't believe how cool the bar down the back is, and to have the enclosed areas outside at the back - great to bring kids. Coffee is good as well. Check out my photos- they had a ridiculously giant sausage roll for sale in the cafe...

We ordered entrées for dinner, it was a first time here. The Jalapeños were quite spicy but to my liking. We weren't really fond of the Chilli prawns. The meatballs and baby ribs were nice. The garlic cheese bread was YUMMY! I also enjoyed the Coconut Green Tea, good size pot.

Pretty nice food, good service and nice atomasphere. They cater to dietary requirements and have loads of gluten free options. 4/5 stars for the bitter coffee, other than that it was good.

Yelp
This is definitely a neighborhood/community family oriented place. As a traveler its always nice to go somewhere that locals like. This was evident by the multiple birthday parties that were dining there. We felt like one of the locals! They have all kinds of seating for everyone's taste: inside, outside, the quieter front room, and the slightly busier bar area towards the back. There are more rooms in the back that I did not explore. But certainly no shortage of tables. We had the chermoula calamari salad ($24 NZ) and falafel salad ($25.5 NZ). Both were terrific. The salads weren't too big where you might feel wasteful to not eat it all. The calamari was nicely crisp and the falafels were flavorful. They have a wide ranging menu to cover everyone's tastes. Service was efficient and friendly. They even have a bin of toys for restless little tykes. All in all a terrific spot to dine.

Yelp
I'm calling this Rotorua's best kept secret! Moroccan and Mexican inspired food on a quaint 1940s house with a balcony. Food was delicious, full of flavor and piping hot. Homemade corn chips and not too salty. Dessert was also not too sweet, will definitely be coming back here!! Staff were friendly and smiling in an authentic way that can be so rare, I loved every moment here.

Yelp
I had bookmarked this place before I even flew to New Zealand as it looked like a cool spot to eat brunch. On our last day in Rotorua we did just that, splitting their California burrito and "Sweet as" cinnamon brioche. Both were bomb. I don't really know what to say beyond that. Great plating, great taste, decent portion size. Prices are standard for New Zealand, I guess, which means pricey. But totally worth it. There's a front and back patio and all these different places to eat inside. I'd love to see it on a weekend night as it looks like it could be an interesting place to drink. Wifi kicked ass, too! That seemed to be a rarity in Rotorua, so do NOT overlook that. :)

Yelp
Came to this place for lunch/a late snack; my husband and I split the California burrito and a side salad (huge portions). I know my burritos and this was very delicious with toasted flour tortilla, French fries, free range roasted chicken, guac and side of salsa and chips. Wifi is very good and so is the drink selection. I'd recommend this place! Pretty healthy options available if you're into it.

Yelp
Little family friendly gem with outdoor seating. We ordered sharing dishes- all were very modest portions but all excellently prepared and tasty. I gave 5 stars for friendly service, decent food, and wonderfully relaxing setting.

Yelp
The breakfast options are good, I really liked the Moroccan twist they put on some of the meals. They have a garden bar in the back that's a really cool spot to hang out. Unfortunately, the service and drinks are subpar. They were not willing to make even small changes to orders. The drinks all tasted like hot water mixed with cinnamon. I couldn't tell the difference between some of the drinks.

Yelp
I feel sorry for having to post a negative review because I believe that the food had good potential at this Cafe. We went for brunch on New Year's Day and ordered pretty standard fare (Eggs benny and french toast with grilled bananas...sort of our idea of benchmark menu items in a NZ cafe). We were the only customers on the front porch and it appeared that a few tables were filled in the back seating area. After waiting 35 minutes, we finally asked the waiter to check on our food. She commented that she had noticed that we had been sitting for quite some time with no food. After some time, she came back and said that our order would be up soon. After at least another ten minutes, my husband lost patience and asked once again after our food. After about 8 minutes, two plates were delivered, one bearing way overcooked eggs benny at room temperature and the other cold, dried out french toast. Obviously, the waiter or the Chef decided to just send out the food that we had ordered 45 minutes earlier, food that no doubt sat on the counter or under a heat lamp for much of that time. There was no attempt to apologize or ask if we wanted a refund or a chance to reorder. Perhaps our American accents (though we are New Zealand citizens) made the employees think that we didn't matter or wouldn't be likely to return or be in a position to recommend the cafe to friends. This position is most unfortunate at a time when any and every tourist should be treasured and appreciated. CoVid seems to have provided a convenient excuse for people to lose sight of what good service and excellent food should be. The Cafes that allow this slovenly approach will join the graveyard of failed businesses, already too abundant in New Zealand.

Yelp
This was the little gem I was looking for! Always a sucker for a cute and yummy cafe, Abracadabra had it all. They offer delicious food, great coffee, delicious smoothies and a lovely environment. The staff is pretty friendly but the most engaging of all are the owners. You can tell that they care so much about the vibe of their cafe and the quality of food that gets served. I got the feeling that they are just genuinely good people and they didn't even have to try to be nice and cool because they just ARE. If I lived in Rotorua this would be much go-to spot and I will always return when I am back in town. I wish you great success and may you stay open thriving as long as you wish to be! Aloha!

Yelp
This place is my absolute favourite! The interior and exterior of the cafe is so inviting and I love how they have decorated the inside with plants and hanging lamps etc. Feels like a clean fun environment with plenty of outdoor seating and indoor seating, there is even rooms to book (for free). The food is amazing, I highly recommend the chips with aioli, open chicken sandwich, nachos, sliders, mocktails, and shakes! Always lovely service and such a lovely place to go for lunch with friends of family. Great for big groups.

Yelp
This place would've received a 4 star for decently good food and ambiance, but I got a lecture for them putting jalapeños on an order that I loudly and repeatedly requested no jalapeños on. Don't tell me how to order when you messed up! So you get 2 stars because your service sucks. *The sucky service was from one seemingly male identified staff member only. He just didn't get it even when we explained to him how rude he was!

Yelp
Great food and awesome atmosphere (house plants are a nice touch)! Service was good and plenty of vegan options. I'm in town visiting from the US and tempted to stop in one more time before leaving.

Yelp
Impeccable !! After an experience that no one should even have at Nuvolare ( wasn't served for 25 min!!) I phoned Abracadabra to see if there was an available spot for 2, and although it was fully booked they managed to come to the party with a table! It's totally as it sounds, MAGICAL ! Mouth watering flavours with each and every bite! The service was 1st class, the food 1st class too. And the bill... Abracadabra ..... Inexpensive ! Dine in and try it, I hope you have the same experience as we have had. I'll let the food do the talking on this one

Yelp
This is a find!!! One of the best restaurants in Rotorua in my mind. Has two outdoor areas with a small indoor area. Moroccan feel but has Mexican on the menu which is a hell YA for me since its been forever since I've had Mexican food. They had a drink special called the New Yorker thought I would try since I am from the states. It had Malibu, pineapple juice and strawberry liquor. Delish!!!! I had the tres tacos they were great. Also at the table was ordered the grande burrito. Wow it was huge but so good. Also had chirps for dessert with chocolate sauce. Yum!! I would so recommend. Jesse was great and service was great.

Yelp
Great meal in Rotorua at Abracadabra! It's a big place with lots of different seating options, including a terrace, backyard and different indoor rooms. The food was excellent- we had the lamb salad, couscous salad, and a kumara and haloumi salad. All very flavorful and well presented.

Yelp
We loved this place. We tried the falafel, chicken w mushrooms, and the fish of the day. Also took a cheesecake home. Everything was very tasty and their service was on point.

Yelp
Excellent food, service, and ambience! We were there for brunch and ordered their gringo nachos, cinnamon brioche, and garlic bread. Absolutely delicious, with the brioche as a must eat!! Would highly recommend this place for brunch, lunch, or dinner!
