I recently dined at this incredible Italian restaurant, and it exceeded all my expectations. The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful—elegant yet inviting, setting the perfect tone for the evening. The management staff was attentive and professional, making sure everything ran smoothly. Our server Gaby was knowledgeable and friendly, recommending dishes that turned out to be nothing short of delicious. The fine selection of wines perfectly complemented our meals, and the bartenders (The Sarah's) crafted fabulous drinks that were both creative and refreshing. Overall, it was an exceptional dining experience. From the impeccable service to the mouthwatering food and stunning ambiance, I can’t recommend this place enough. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

What a great place! Definitely go! Where do I start. We were very hungry, the moment we got to the table, we were approached by very nice bubbly server, we order everything at one time. Cocktails came and oh boy, so delicious. And the pasta.... the pasta was soo good. We ordered 3 different kind and each one was so tasty. The service was amazing. Just try it for yourself. Highly recommend! 5 star

This place has a pretty decent menu of Italian dishes, primarily pizzas and pastas. For starters, the grilled octopus had bright and fresh flavors all over the plate and nice crispy octopus. It's a dish I'd happily eat again. My entree was the spaghetti and meatballs -- the meatballs were so tender and juicy, I can't say I've had many in my life that were that good.. great plate overall! Service was all positive on a busy evening. I definitely recommend making a reservation. It's a pretty classy vibe, but not fine dining attire; it can be casual, but don't go in hiking clothes. There's patio seating for a nice day, too. This was the best place I ate in my 3 days in Whitefish!

I had the truffle gnocchi. Best $40 I’ve ever spent. They were generous with the fresh truffle and it was delicious. I loved the roasted cauliflower as well. My husband had the calamari and mushroom rigatoni. The cocktails were superb as well. Can’t go wrong if you decide to eat here. We were in Montana on vacation and this was a great find.

Wow. I travel a lot and been to Kalispell and whitefish a few times and this is my first time here. It was based on a recommendation from a local and I’m glad I trusted them. The pasta I got was their freshly made spaghetti and meatball and Caesar salad and it did not disappoint It gets busy here for sure and I can see why. Parking is free if you can find it. Come early or try to make a reservation if you got a group. I came solo and next time would be okay with takeout but I wonder if it would still taste the same. Anyways hope this helps

Eliska is the best waitress that we have had in a long time, but only wish you had attentive, but she was really fun, and funny and very witty, we adore her. Anyway, last night I ordered the Bolognese that was made with pork and peel, and then I added the fennel sausage everybody at my table and the table next to us who we made friends with was very jealous, it was delicious. it was absolutely cooked. It’s one of the best sausages I’ve had in years. Love the outdoor patio. I had no idea that that was even there until this visit. I WOULD RECOMMEND

Google
Amazing pizzas and pasta! We got the mushroom pizza and the carbonara and both were awesome. Our server was great and friendly. The specialty drinks were really good too. Be sure to make a reservations because this place fills up fast.

Don’t miss out on your opportunity to experience Abruzzo Italian Kitchen when traveling through Whitefish. We made reservations and good thing we did. The place was hopping. Great seating inside and outside on the patio. We ordered the Beet and Burrata salad to share. It was phenomenal! I ordered the Pesto Pizza and my wife had the Wild Boar Ragu. What a treat! Thank you to the entire staff for the great meal experience!

Yelp
This was a recommend from our wedding site visit and it did not disappoint! Celebrated here saying yes to the vendor and could not have been happier with our choice!! Staff was super friendly and never made us feel rushed at any time considering they were due to close soon after we arrived. From the host who was very welcoming and offered a preference of seating choice, to our server and bus person and runner - all made us feel at home. We shared apps a salad and entree with a bottle of champagne and two specialty cocktails - so perfect! And let's talk about their made in house bread .... WOW! We almost fought over the last piece lol. Everything was so delicious and made to order (so be prepared for a lengthy stay). Our server coursed everything perfect and again, didn't make us feel rushed at all. We chose to sit on the patio to enjoy the weather, it was such a beautiful day and even though there wasn't a view of the surroundings, it was still such a pleasant experience. Just like sitting in grandmas backyard while she whips up her homemade recipes from Italy! Highly recommend making time to enjoy this incredible little restaurant!

Yelp
Very charming Italian restaurant in the heart of Downtown Whitefish. We visited due to celebrating a birthday and we got a little bit of everything. For starters, my favorite was the cauliflower and fresh baguette. Do not miss out on trying their olive oil and balsamic glaze with the baguette! For dinner I got the pear pizza and the cesar salad, the cesar salad was overly salty and the pizza was lacking in sauce. Others in my party got pasta dishes and said theirs was delicious so, I recommend getting a pasta if you are dining with Abruzzo. Lastly we finished with desert, do NOT leave without getting a desert. We had the fresh strawberry sorbet and another lemon cake item. I'm not typically a man of strawberry flavoring, but loved this sorbet, it was super fresh! One thing I did not understand though is if you split a meal they will charge you extra? So, just ask for a separate plate. Our server Hannah was a sweetheart as well! She was attentive and made sure we were taken care of especially since we were celebrating a birthday.

Dawn D.

Yelp
What a lovely and unexpected treat! The restaurant was utterly charming! We started with drinks and had a house special margarita. I'm not able to do it justice so I won't try. It's tasty! Tonight's special was the halibut with fingerling potatoes, a sauce that had olives and capers in it, along with pine nuts and eggplant. It melded together beautifully, so delicious! For dessert one of us had tiramisu and the other a butterscotch crème. I preferred the butterscotch but both were well done. Katie was our server, she was excellent, very knowledgeable about the wine list. She and the rest of the staff we had the pleasure to interact with were pleasant, professional and helpful. Next time we are up this way we'll be back!

Yelp
This place was packed and has quite a wait, reservations are recommended here. Nice ambiance inside with bar and dining area. The service was friendly and attentive. We tried the calamari, sausage and fennel pizza, carbonara pizza, gnocchi truffle pasta and lasagna. Everything was really good nice Italian restaurant in whitefish.

Richy O.

Yelp
Amazing Italian restaurant and their pasta are delicious and their pizza's are also some of the best pizzas I've had. Service is always fast and the restaurant is nice. We came here 3 times and loved it every time.

Yelp
Awesome restaurant located on the Main Street of downtown Whitefish. We showed up on a Monday night shortly after opening with no reservations and were able to get seated right away. The interior is dark and moody, perfect for a date night. We got the Wild Boar Ragu and the special that night which I believe was a salmon dish. The ragu was delicious and I am still thinking about this dish more than a month later. The parpadelle noodles were perfectly al dente and chewy with a nice thick texture. The boar added a deep flavor and overall the dish was a very hearty dish that was perfect for the rainy evening. The Salmon was so fresh and you could definitely taste it. It came with a tomato salad and some cauliflower and corn throughout. It was a very fresh and light dish that was a great contrast to the ragu.

Yelp
Our family came here to celebrate my father's 70s birthday and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The food was amazing, the service extraordinary and their gluten free options were top notch! Our waitress Katie was incredible and made sure we had everything we needed before we even low we needed it! She was one of the best waitresses I've ever had! She's quite the gem!

Mai L.

Yelp
Downtown Whitefish is super cute area and this restaurant is on the strip where there is street parking. We did not have a reservation but we're sat pretty quickly. Our server was super nice and helpful. We got the baguette starter and it was delicious bread. I ordered the seafood pasta. Very tasty. Lots of seafood was in it. I was iffy about the creamed cauliflower but it was a good add.

Amanda M.

Yelp
This is a must stop if you're ever in Whitefish. The ambiance and service let me know right away this was going to be an amazing meal. Our server made some recommendations on drinks and food and our table decided to split the cauliflower and a pizza as appetizers before ordering our own entrees. When the entrees came out, we ended up passing them around so that everyone could enjoy the flavors. Every dish was made with care and tasted amazing. Will be thinking about this meal for a long time!

Jess B.

Yelp
What could improve?! Well you could stop with the shit food. Steak undercooked, fish over cooked and the drinks like a 10 yeah old made them. Trash

Sarah W.

Yelp
We had a reservation here while on our girls trip to Glacier... after that dining experience, we decided to come back twice more before our trip was over! Their pizza and pasta are extremely hard to beat. Service was always great, loved the ambiance. Conveniently located in downtown Whitefish. The perfect spot to hit up after a day of hiking in Glacier National Park!!

Yelp
Respectable modern Italian fare... We've been to Abruzzo many times while vacationing in Whitefish... My wife prefers Ciao Mambo, but I prefer Abruzzo (both are Americanized Italian). The restaurant is elegant Montana-chill, solid and consistent customer service, and good/well thought out cuisine. The menu is small and seemingly specialized, yet has a good variety of multi-region Italian fare w/ an American spin. We really like their elk tartar, salads, and pizzas (which are a cross between Neapolitan and Roman style). Abruzzo is expensive however (so know ahead of time), as a dinner for two will run you around $150. All-in-though, if you want a good modern Italian meal, Abruzzo is a place to checkout while in Whitefish.

Sydney S.

Yelp
Such a delicious find in Whitefish! If you're a fan of Italian food, this is a must stop. Definitely recommend getting a reservation in advance. The inside is rustic, but still upscale and modern - love the large bars and visible pizza oven for the ambiance. Their patio also looked nice, but we sat inside. I started with a Bees Knees, which was cute and delicious - love that it was purple from the empress gin. We also shared a Cesar Salad & the Fruit Arugula Salad. Both were really tasty, but our group preferred the classic Cesar. I shared the Prosciutto Pizza & Pesto Pasta, both were rich and delicious. We both preferred the pasta, it's fresh and unique flavors made us just keep wanting more! Quick tip, ask for the noodles softer if you don't like Al Dente. All is homemade in house, and you can tell! My only downside is that at 7:45 they were already out of Lasagna, so we couldn't try it. But the wonderful service & staff made up for it by letting us know early so we could order the pizza instead. Overall, I wish this was in my town because I would eat here all the time!

Melody K.

Yelp
The menu was enticing, and the food did not disappoint. My husband got the rustic baguette and the Amatriciana. I got one bite of it, and immediately regretted my choice. The Amatriciana was absolutely phenomenal! I cannot recommend it enough! I got the Truffle Gnocchi. Unfortunately, the Gnocchi were chewy and dry. The sauce was good, but there wasn't enough to save the dry Gnocchi. The price was too high for the quality in my opinion. The staff was wonderful, very helpful, and very quick. The restaurant was very quaint and charming, and it was a very nice experience overall.

Selah C.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing meal! The wild boar ragu was out of this world! The fennel sausage pizza was also delicious as well as the tre latte for dessert!

Paul G.

Yelp
Best italian resturant in GLACIER area. Worth the 20 minutes from Kalispell. Service was outstanding from the moment you enter. Real Italian ambiance. Menu selection is ample and will priced. Wine list is extensive. This is must when in the area.area.Dont forget the desert..Gelato, it devine.

Yelp
Valentine's Evening in Whitefish, Montana brought us and extended members of the upcoming wedding party to Abruzzo Italian Kitchen. I had found Abruzzo weeks ahead while doing some research for our first night in Whitefish. I suggested to my extended family the idea of all eating at one restaurant on Valentine's Day for dinner. They agreed to the idea. Unfortunately, most restaurants (anywhere) would struggle to host a party of 12 guest on Valentine's Day. A day where most tables are set up for couples or a party of 4. We booked 4 reservations over the course of the evening to get everyone in to Abruzzo that evening. There would likely be some cross over of parties coming and going, no big deal. We arrived on schedule and 2 of the 4 parties were seated and some were already finishing their dinner. We were seated in the front window and had the wonderful Sienna as our server. She was great at getting us a settled, updated us on the evening's specials and took our orders for beverages. 2 members of the party ordered the small steak special, I ordered the Bolognese pasta and lastly one ordered the veal T-bone steak. We all split a Caesar salad and enjoyed a bottle of wine. We chatted with the table next door and ended up buying them a round of drinks. Next, the future bride and groom stopped by our table and the other table of wedding guests. Our food arrived and all were pleased. The Bolognese was a great choice for me and the small steaks were very well received. The veal T-bone was the disappointment of the evening. It was super thick and lacked flavor. Additional wedding guest arrived for their reservation but ended up joining the 2nd party at their table. Once the table next to us emptied that group asked and was moved next to us to further continue our dining experience. Much laughter, chatting and reminiscing occurred that evening. We all finally, left the restaurant after paying our bills. Sienna, the manager(s) and host team were very accommodating to all the shenanigans and chaos that our large group presented to Abruzzo on a very busy night. Whitefish may never be the same but Abruzzo Italian Cafe was a great location for so many members of our extended group and should we find ourselves in Whitefish again we would absolutely visit Abruzzo again.

Sarah N.

Yelp
Amazing food, amazing ambiance, great service by our waiter. Unfortunately, as soon as we signed our bill the hostess came and told us we needed to leave b/c people were waiting. Super rude and insulting. Not necessary at all.

Kevin B.

Yelp
This was a nice restaurant! We came here back in August and we really enjoyed our meal. We sat in the back dining area and we had good service throughout our meal. We enjoyed a nice cocktail and glass of wine and we really enjoyed our entrees; my wife's salmon was cooked perfectly and she loved it and my NY strip was also delicious and cooked well. We would definitely come here again the next time we're in Whitefish.

Gavin B.

Yelp
My wife and I decided to visit Whitefish last week to see the Christmas decorations before they come down. We arrived a bit before the restaurant opened, so we walked around the shops and reacquainted ourselves with the many restaurants in downtown Whitefish. We live locally, but don't get to Whitefish much, and decided to try Abruzzo's since my daughter said it is a favorite of hers and we were craving Italian food. The food and service were good, but I am only giving 4 stars for the lack of complementary bread with the meal. You can order it as an appetizer, but given the cost of the entrees and medium size of the portions (at least for mine), I was disappointed that the restaurant chooses to charge for bread, rather than offer it as a complementary side, as do most of the Italian restaurants I've visited. It just put a bit of a damper on the experience, and I wanted to let others know so they can know what to expect.

Dira G.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great service! Presentation on point, all the experience of this place was on point

Susan M.

Yelp
Delightful Italian Restaurant off of the Main Street downtown Whitefish. We placed an order over the phone and picked it up in 30 minutes. The staff was sweet and friendly at the desk and made sure our order was complete. I took a quick photo of the bar and a few once it was plated at our AIRBNB but the pictures don't do these entrees justice. The atmosphere inside was charming, family friendly and gourmet. It was packed so I was so glad we ordered to-go. We had the following: Traditional Bolognese-nice portion of pasta covered in white sauce with a pork/garlic flavor. Devine! Cauliflower-fried to softness on the inside and crispy on the outside. Yummy! Lasagna- HUGE portion and layered with lots of red meat sauce and cheese. Not dry or tough. Would come back again and again!

Aditi G.

Yelp
Good food and service! Butterscotch budino 5/5 I wish they didn't skimp on the portion size though. Cacio e pepe 5/5 Very well done! Margherita pizza 3/5 It was quite fresh, but I wasn't impressed with the red sauce (it was sour and could be more flavorful!)

Shreya S.

Yelp
After a long day of hiking in Glacier National Park, this place was just phenomenal. The food, vibe, drinks were really good. The staff was friendly and service was quite fast as well. The meal comes with a complementary bread; the pasta is homemade; the ambience is fancy and location is also great. It is slightly on pricier side, but I feel its fair for the food and service provided.

Johnny R.

Yelp
Stumbled across this place while in town for the Last Best Ride & let me tell you, amazing. Started with the Elk Tartar & Italian Wedge Salad. Both very good. Then had the Wild Boar Ragu for dinner. This dish is amazing. I had the Barbera and first, it was OK. Second glass I had the Super Tuscan, THIS was a match made in culinary heaven. 100% recommend.

Gabriella M.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambiance were excellent. We came here twice on our trip and left very satisfied both times. It's a scratch kitchen and you can taste the difference. Get the carbonara pizza and bolognese!

Alexis M.

Yelp
Stopped in after a long long day of hiking at Glacier National Park. This place was busy but we were okay with sitting at the bar. Service was friendly and our bartenders went above and beyond to make sure we were having a good time. Their bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar were delicious and all the pasta is homemade. I ordered this veggie pasta (no cheese) but my friends tried the basil & arugula pesto rigatoni and wild boar rigatoni and said good things. They were sadly out of the elk tartare but that was highly recommended. It is slightly on pricier side, but I feel its fair for the food and service provided.

Noelle A.

Yelp
Food and ambience were amazing... Service was a little slow, but that may be because they put us outside and gave us a server whose section was inside. She tried her best, but we sat there a long time waiting for our food, drink refills and our check. would definitely go back.

Kris C.

Yelp
Best Italiano in the area. My #1 favorites here are the beet salad and 12 oz steak. Sometimes, I'll opt for one of their delicious firewood pizzas. Their balsamic vinaigrette and olive olls are a must try.

Tori C.

Yelp
We decided to come here to celebrate after our elopement. It's very nice and upscale The food was INCREDIBLE. We ate until we couldn't take another bite. Our server Jeiven was great! Our food came out fast and hot and everything was correct. We could hear him with his other tables too, he goes over the menu with you and gives great advice. He helped me choose the truffle gnocchi and it was one of my favorite dishes I've ever had actually.

Melissa W.

Yelp
This restaurant is on top of their game! We were greeted warmly at the host desk, they found our reservation with ease and we were whisked off to our table. This, at the height of the season, during a heat wave. The server was fantastic and the meals and apps came out promptly and with precision. It has been and will continue to be a favorite!

Zenia Z.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Compliments to the chef, that was the best halibut dish I've ever had. Our only complaint was that I had made reservations for the dining room. When we got there we were told the dining room was full but we could sit at the bar. Being 8 months pregnant that was not an option. They sat us at the lounge which I preferred for ambiance, however, the temperature in there was way too hot with the fireplace on.

Sarah B.

Yelp
We came twice and Josh was our server. Easy going and quick server! Y'all run a tight ship there and know how to get the food out hot! Quite impressive in a small town of Whitefish.

Tammy B.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by Abruzzo by a recommendation. We are so happy we did! We started off with the grilled octopus. It was amazing! Tasted almost like the octopus we ate in Greece. So good. I then had their lasagna and my husband had pizza. Both were amazing! I wish I could take this restaurant back with me to Florida :)

Jim H.

Yelp
Very tatsey itallian in a downtown area. Parking was a pain in ass but not the restaurants fault. It was so busy we had to sit at the bar. Bartender was friendly. My wife and I split the meatball appetizer which was good but pricey for 3 meatballs. We split the itallian sausage pizza, it was one of the best wood fired pizzas I've had. Left very full and satisfied.

Ella G.

Yelp
This restaurant was absolutely fabulous. All staff were friendly, attentive, and had excellent suggestions. Our glasses were never empty, & our food was absolutely DELICIOUS. The vibes were also fantastic.

Ellena K.

Yelp
Very good pasta! Recommend the burrata and corn ravioli. The piccata and cacciatore were also good but the ravioli really stood out! Service was fast.

Shirin P.

Yelp
3 stars for food and 4 for ambiance and service. One of the few finer dining options in Whitefish. We were not too impressed with the food but we also didn't have high expeditions. Our bar for Italian food is pretty high so it's hard to meet it. Started the meal with beets and Burrata salad and ordered the wild boar ragu and lasagna for main meal. Ragu was better than the lasagna. Server was courteous but a little slow. Overall a decent experience.

Michele L.

Yelp
The Calamari was expensive but some of the best I've ever had and I travel a lot, so well worth the $18! The restaurant was well kept up & servers were attentive, helpful, and answered my questions and gave me suggestions to what would like or should try! I also had the Wild boar Ragu....It could have been a bit warmer, but still was good & had great flavor...I will be headed back there tonight, as I want to try something different! I liked the bar atmosphere & ambiance! Great job all!

Alina R.

Yelp
Discrimination!!! I came here on a Monday night (8/19/24) for dinner and it was pretty packed. Two brunette hosts told my partner and I there would be a 45-minute wait. We decided to put our name down because we were already there and the host asked if we were sure that we wanted to do that.. that's weird but yes... we're hungry. We ended up waiting for something at the bar to open up. The girls stared at us and spoke under their breath the entire time we waited. We were seated within 5 minutes of us putting our name down and 15 minutes into our meal the restaurant was half empty. I'm not sure why the host tried turning us away or didn't want our service but it seemed like they had a problem seeing an interracial couple. I normally wouldn't even give this another thought but I truly hate a mean girl, it's toxic and has no place in the service industry. Our server Katie was amazing and so kind, nothing like the attitude of the hosts. I guess since most people here in Whitefish are white, it doesn't really matter to them that the establishment discriminates.. but watch out if you're from out of town because I've truly never experienced anything like this. Also, check out Jalisco Cantina, better service, better food, a better environment, and friendly staff :)

Adrianne A.

Yelp
Where there are many great options to choose from In the sweet town of Whitefish, Abruzzo captures all you could want and more! Amazing establishment with great service and every bite was amazing! This will be a staple every time we visit! Highly recommend.

Hank H.

Yelp
We stopped in on a Saturday night for the first time. The restaurant has a cool vibe to it with a good amount of space. We got the Margherita pizza and a fennel sausage pizza. The fennel sausage pizza was pretty good, but the Margherita pizza was kind of lacking. Their lasagna looked amazing. If I went here again, I would try that for sure. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and the food didn't take too long. This place is worth a check, but the pizza is nothing too special.

C H.

Yelp
We've been to this restaurant many times over the years. It has been our place. However, it seems the business side of the house is getting greedy. First difference is they now charge for bread where before it used to be included. I'm used to it being included at fine Italian restaurants. Secondly, they now assess a credit card fee-who carries a couple hundred around in cash these days at the end of the day. For the food, the fried cauliflower was really salty and not edible beyond one bite. All the other food, pork shank, Pesto and seafood entrees were spot on. Overall, the food is good, but turned off by the nickle and dime charges. There are other new places on the scene to check out next time, which is sad to say.

Katie Y.

Yelp
Very good restaurant! The calamari, bread, pasta was all very good! Service was ok. A good mix between a nice restaurant without being too fancy.

Dawn C.

Yelp
The food and service was fantastic Beautiful garden setting I would definitely recommend this restaurant

Nicole M.

Yelp
Great place! Food is fantastic. Hannah, our server, was wonderful, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. We loved it!

Maggie A.

Yelp
Took no photos, but when I tell you we went here 3 times in our 7 day trip... SO good We had a reservation our first night, but were walkins the two times after that. Depends on day of the week - we were able to grab a drink at the bar while waiting one night, and grabbed a drink down the street another night. Of all the food - hands down the favorite was the Fennel Sausage pizza... I would get this every night if I could. Other fan favorites are: Caesar Salad - very light, loved the dressing Lasagna Bolognese Rigatoni Marsala Wild boar ragu Staff was friendly - inside is so welcoming and cozy.. can't wait to return!

Debbie T.

Yelp
Excellent food and wonderful customer service! Very quaint! The pizza was delicious! Tried octopus which was very nicely cooked and served! Wine choice recommended by the server was excellent! Highly recommend!

Bill B.

Yelp
Better make a reservation! Came to Whitefish for a place to eat as we wanted to eat somewhere other than Kalispell. Tons of great choices in Whitefish. Felt like Italian and came here. Boy, is it popular! We had to wait about an hour, so we sat at the bar, had some local craft beers and bided our time. The meal itself was great. Among all the choices I got spaghetti and meatballs and was not disappointed. Looking forward to coming again.
