5 Must-Visit Northeast Cideries for Your Next Fall-Foliage Road Trip

"For an early start to the season, I’d head north to Winthrop, Maine, where apples are available from mid-August through the end of October (pick-your-own can finish by early November). Maine’s high latitude and rugged coast give its cider apples a bright, acidic bite—Kaiser recommends a high-acid or high-tannin cider such as Absolem’s foraged-apple Wendel—and he suggests pairing that style with Maine’s classic lobster roll." - Beth Demmon

Fascinating place. Amazing array of Cider mixed drinks beer and everything. Nice range of food trucks rotating through. Love this place. Great options for sitting outside or being in the barn. Not what you would expect in Winthrop Maine. Highly recommend this place. Worth checking out.

Expansive beverage choices. Passionate about their cocktails. Beautiful setting, and the free range chickens are a bonus. A wide array of seating options indoor and outside Very welcoming, friendly, helpful and efficient employees. Patrons were fun as well. Dog on leash friendly. Enjoyed the food truck options available. Enjoyed the destination and experience.

This is a great place to hang out, have a bite and a beverage with friends or family. They have food trucks that rotate in. Every food truck has been AWESOME! I'm not a huge hard cider lover, but that's ok, because they have great cocktails and an excellent selection of beers. The staff and owners are helpful and can answer ANY questions about their drink menu. Definitely worth the trip!

We only had the cider and beer, but the cocktail menu was amazing, extensive, and creative

Fun venue. Great cider and beer selections. Mixed cocktails are incredible. Live music on the weekends. Hotdogs and hamburgers cooked to order on the grill.

Food trucks will be there, sometimes music, all posted on the website. An amazing bar, beers, boutique complex ciders, and an array of scotch, whiskey, and other distilled choices. I loved I could bring my dog in on a cold, rainy day. Lots of space in the large cozy barn, and then there's the outside lush landscape on the farm. Happy curious chickens darting about. Can't wait to go back!

Absolutely phenomenal. The two Pilsners I had were delicious. The staff was wicked congenial and helpful. The live music-Kevin Leary-was so ideal for the venue, and his voice and choice of songs were exceptional. Great experience.

Absolem is an amazing venue with amazing ambience, but don’t go to this Cidery for the Cider. Go for the mixed drinks. Another Cidery off the beaten path in Maine. Absolem, has an amazing indoor and outdoor space. Allowing it year round service. This modern/contemporary rustic barn is great for group events and families/kids. Absolem as a Cidery. While Absolem is labeled as a Cidery and makes its own Cider, the night we visited most guests were drinking beer and mixed drinks. Our friends commented on how amazing their mixed drinks were. Absolem’s ciders have strong vinegar overtones, which distinguishes itself from the other Maine ciders. Second, Absolem’s menu, while listing cider first, only dedicates between 1/5-1/6 of is menu to cider. Give Absolem a try. You won’t be disappointed in your commitment to Absolem, with good food truck selections, and a great array of beer and phenomenal mixed drinks. Our only issue was their cider, more concerning as they are a cidery.
