I was on the hunt for a pressie for me best mate's birthday, and let me tell ya, this store is a hidden gem! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm Aussie welcome and a ripper selection of gifts to choose from.

This is the best place to buy gifts in Woolloongabba. A large range of gifts for both men and women, house and children. Although inside the shop it’s not wheelchair or stroller accessible. The old store is cramped packed with wonderful eclectic gems

I honestly expected a place named after a British comedy show to be a little tacky, but absolutely fabulous is far from tacky. There's weird and wonderful knick-knacks, toys, books, and gadgets to delight and entertain even the dreariest of company. There is choice everywhere you look: For that morbid friend you have, there is a guide to hypochondria; for the friend that won't trade in their old wallet, there's a range of vibrant colours ad luggage to match; for the friend who's trying to make their place more homely, there are countless pillows and kitchen utensils with a twist, pant-shaped egg cups, and china sets; and for lovers of jewellery there is a vast array of wooden styles to add an earthy feel to your outfit. There are just bits and pieces of everything littered around this store, in a good way of course. Everything is almost retro-modern, especially the furniture they have sitting outside the door. Absolutely Fabulous is that place where you know you'll find a birthday or Christmas gift for anyone, because their range is far too widespread for anyone to dislike anything.

Absolutely Fabulous is one of those stores that will impress even the grumpiest person in your clan. I have seen all sorts of people happily walk through the Ab Fab doors ...and really why not? This place is one of the best little retro/gift stores around. A haven of quirky goods and trinkets, this place has everything from bird key holders, pug bookends and novelty shower caps to art cards, beautiful gift paper and vintage ornaments. This store is in my arsenal of places to go to when a person is annoyingly difficult to buy for or is someone I don't know very well. (I can guarantee you will find perfect gifts a plenty here.) Ab Fab is worth a definite gander when out and about in Woolloongabba!

As well as selling gorgeous mid century furniture and pieces, AbFab hosts intelligent, gimmicky gift ideas. It's put together beautifully - with style, smarts and a sense of humour. As well as selling great stuff - if you have something mid century of your own you want to sell - they'll purchase or sell on commission.

I enjoy going to unique shops if I do need to go shopping because it takes some of the boredom out of shopping. Ab Fab is one of these unique shops and it hard to pin point it exactly, it's like a retro antique shop slash jewelry shop. I do have to use the term antiques quite loosely because im not entirely sure that all the stuff is actually old. I think it's quite good though because you can get items that were around ages ago but that are new at the same time so you don't end up paying crazy prices. I particularly like the range of things you might use every day but with a clever twist like ice trays in the shape of the titanic and giant cupcake trays. If nothing else I think that the shop should just be mentioned for its name which is taken from a British comedy series of the same name.
