"An Experience with Falcons A visit to the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital is worth every minute of the drive out of Dubai (about 45 minutes). This facility, the only one in the world, is devoted to the preservation and health of these amazing which play a central role in the history of the Emirates. On a visit to this facility, you'll be able to hold a falcon on your wrist, learn about the different types of falcons, watch the staff perform some "maintenance" on a bird (typically talon and beak trimming), and even see a feeding. You'll learn how falcons came to this region (they are not indigenous) and how they travel (with their own passports!). You need to book your tour in advance and while you're there, you might take a brief side trip to see the beautiful Salukis, hunting dogs that are house in a nearby facility. http://www.falconhospital.com/ Visits are easily booked through the website, the staff are warm, and they do a thorough job accommodating all visitors. Just a short drive outside of Abu Dhabi, it's well worth the trip."

"There are few, if any, places in the world where you can have an immersive experience with falcons, but Abu Dhabi's Falcon Hospital is one such place. As the world's leading falcon welfare institute, the facility offers informative tours with hands-on experiences. Tours run from two to three hours; large groups also can create customizable tours. Guides provide immense amount of information, offering deep insight into the world of falcons, including their lifespan and eating habits, as well as the history and cultural significance of falconry in the region." - Jenna Scatena

This was a highlight of my trip to Abu Dhabi. It's incredible to see close and personal these amazing birds and much more. The tour is fantastic and you'll be able to see what's going on behind the close doors - literally. Everyone was soooo friendly and willing to explain procedures and answer our questions. What a spectacular facility and very, very unique experience. Besides holding and patting the birds, I was able to feed one as well. What a great memories I'll have. Highly highly recommend visiting this place, besides the falcons you'll enjoy the free roaming peacocks as well ;)

This was a really cool experience! I wasn’t very familiar with falcons and the connection between UAE and these beautiful birds. Well, let me tell you, after spending 90 min with the staff during their tour, I walked out of there with so much respect and information, memories and things I’ve learned I will never forget! Please go check it out! What a great way to support a great organization that helps and supports so many animals in need! Absolutely beautiful! Totally worth it! Ask for Hassan being your guide!!

Such a great experience learning about falcons and what they do at the hospital you help the birds. We got to watch a procedure and hold a few falcons.

Absolutely worth the extra effort to get there. We were the only guests on this tour of a working falcon hospital. The doctors clearly want to share their love of these birds. This is not a tourist trap we spent about 1 1/2 hours on the tour and were able to hold them, and feed the falcons. We came home with a real experience and as many photos as you want to take. There is a small museum of falcon culture, accoutrements, and history. The facility also cares for a limited number of other birds of prey such as owls. Do allow extra time as the taxi driver missed the exit, but the facility has to be far away from power lines to protect the birds in flight.

While it may be a bit difficult getting to this attraction with all the road construction in the area, and detours...just allow yourself a little extra time to arrive. The tour of the hospital was really amazing, fun, and informative. It is good for all ages. Seeing these amazing creatures being cared for was insightful. The tour took us about 90 minutes and included an introduction, a chance to see the falcons in the clinic, time to hold a falcon on your gloved arm for a photo, and a visit to see them in an aviary.

I just had a very bad experience that ended by early checkout . I payed for cat boarding for a duration of 37 days , and early checked out my cat fearing about her safety and health. I gave them my cat in a very good health, and after 4 days I sent mail checking on her , they replied that there is a dry wound in her nose and they are taking care of it, I told them my cat wasn’t injured and thank god I took her a photo in the boarding room before I left her, So how after only 4 days she got injured without anyone monitoring her and rescuing her , it may have injured even more badly. Moreover they have a very strict rule that money is not refundable and not movable to any other time and cannot be used to another pet ,

Absolutely disappointed and heartbroken by my experience at Falcon Hospital. I contacted them about my cat’s blocked bladder—a serious emergency. I was driving in from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, and clearly told them I could only reach after 6 PM. They confirmed it was fine under emergency hours and said it would cost around 275 AED for the visit and possibly around 3,000 AED for treatment, which I was ready to pay. When I arrived, already stressed and scared for my cat, I asked to see the vet first. But instead of compassion, I was told bluntly by the receptionist to pay 3,000 upfront before the doctor would even see my cat. I asked how that was possible without even examining him—they had already made up the bill. When the vet finally came out, his attitude was unbelievably cold and dismissive. He told me he “sees a thousand cases like mine every day” and refused to even touch my cat until I paid. I cannot express how awful that felt, standing there holding a suffering animal and being treated like a transaction. And guess what? It wasn’t even what I feared. The condition was completely different. My cat is doing well now, but not because of their care—because I insisted on real answers and got him help. I ended up paying nearly 5,000 AED, and money wasn’t the issue—I was ready to do whatever it took. But what I wanted was empathy, professionalism, and a vet who would talk to me like I was a human and my cat was a life—not a price tag. Falcon Hospital failed me in every possible way that day. You don’t treat pet owners like this in an emergency. And you definitely don’t treat animals like that.
