Abyssinian Maritim Ethiopian Traditional Restaurant

The quality of both the food and service was fantastic, I really enjoyed my meal here. Prices were reasonable too, so no complaints on that front at all. The house white was also incredible. The atmosphere, however, was a little unusual. The staff themselves were very friendly and welcoming, but at one point it genuinely felt as though I’d walked into a party I hadn’t been invited to. The restaurant seemed to double up as a local social hub, If you’re a confident traveler, you’ll probably enjoy the lively energy, but if you’re less comfortable in unfamiliar settings it might feel slightly intimidating.

Food was great but we had an issue where people in our group dropped out and the restaurant forced us to be served with the extra portions. That said, not sure if we actually received them but we certainly paid for them... It certainly was an experience but don't recommend walking through the fish market beforehand. Provide a bit of extra time (and maybe money) for the food to arrive even if you order early.

Amazing atmosphere, friendly staff. But personally our group didn’t liked the food, looks nice but the sour taste of Ethiopian pancake was not for us, but this is subjective.

We have been visiting this restaurant for 10 years in a row. Wonderful cuisine and friendly staff. I recommend everyone to visit this place.❤️🍸

Awesome food, best flavor, and best coffee in zanzibar, with traditional serving and good decorations, stuff is so helpful they even helped us to book a tuktuk for the aeroport

Very tasteful dishes and amazing juices. The place has a nice setup, though portions are a bit small for the price. The waiter wasn’t very enthusiastic, but overall the service was good.

We ordered a vegetarian combination for two people. Spicy food was not spicy, but the taste was great. Very nice restaurant
