AC Hotel Algeciras

Stayed 1 night in June on our way from Algarve to Marbella since we wanted to swing by Cadiz. Good: Location is ok. Nice boardwalk by the water, el Corte Ingles and Hipocore supermarket close by. Parking is free but confusing to get to. Was upgraded to a suite with a view of the Rock of Gibraltar|Bad: The room and hallways smelled of old smoke. Must have allowed smoking before. The breakfast is 15.40 euros and was a total rip off. Surprised since previous AC Hotel stays in Barcelona Forun and Valencia had an amazing breakfast.|Info: You must get hotel key to enter parking garage. So you have to check in. Unfortunately it's hard to find a place to stop.

They have taken a few parking spots in an underground parking lot just a short block away so keep that in mind. The hotel is awesome and the ferry terminal is at a 20 min drive.

Conveniently located & close to port & city center. The room was spacious but bed was not comfortable. Room was warm & AC is on heat mode only. If I open window for fresh air the traffic & port noise

jan 2024: Nice hotel if you wait for the ferry to Morocco, right next to the harbour. Nice restaurant, not so practical parking. We were there in wintertime but the rooms were far too warm, we could not sleap even with the open window !

Well the low rating is only because they have a centralised temperature control system. Even though it's February, forthe last few days the temperature has been quite hot in Algeciras. But instead of having their AC on the cooling mode they have still kept it on Heater mode. The room gets really hot and it's very uncomfortable to be in a room without proper temperature control and air circulation . The staff were very polite and courteous though, but the higher management needs to understand that the guests need to be comfortable in their room. I had to literally keep my windows open just to feel comfortable. Not to mention such situations inside your hotel room affects your sleep and comfort. I would rather prefer to stay in a hotel where the heater and cooling systems are independent of each other. Like separate systems so that the required temperature setting is at the customers discretion.

One night stay here very clean comfortable and friendly parking was in garage under cover and free not sure there are than many spaces though all good value and would stay again |Reception staff very helpful and friendly |Room very quiet as it over looked central well of the building so not a pretty view but as we were only there one night it didn’t matter

This is a very nice hotel with a great view of the port where ships are unloaded. There is a very nice restaurant. The only complaint that we have is about parking. The hotel advertisement said there was free parking. When my wife was checking in the desk clerk informed her that they only had a limited number of parking spaces and he had just given the last one out. He said that there were paid places in the same area that we could use but we would have to pay for them or we could park out on the street. He did not offer to cover the cost of the paid parking or to give us a discount on our hotel room. Extremely poor customer service from a Marriott. Very disappointing.
