Chose this hotel due to its location and it didn’t disappoint. Was located one block from the beach and very close to lots of shopping, bars and restaurants. Very modern, new hotel. Very clean and comfortable. I had a 2 queen room and was plenty of space for 2 people. Bright, roomy bathroom. Loved the pool deck and rooftop deck with beautiful views. Great, friendly bartenders at all of the bars with great cocktails. One piece of feedback about the pool towels. They were super small, thin and felt like sandpaper. Elevate your pool deck experience by spending a bit of $$ on better towels for your guests to use. Will definitely stay again if I’m in the area.

The room was wonderful. Bathroom, 10! With a large shower for two. King sized bed with four, very fluffy pillows. We requested two extra pillows and they brought them up almost immediately. Large flat screen TV on the wall with full set of cable channels. We were told this hotel is only 4 years old. Would recommend. Staff is friendly, everything very clean. $22 for breakfast was a bit much but we found breakfast other places.

First and foremost, I am grateful for the hospitality and the customer service at this location especially since I ended up ill when we were supposed to check in and the manager was kind enough to assist with check in so we didn't lose our reservation the second night. While my husband was pleased with the hotel, for an avid Marriott fan like myself, a reward member for over 20 years and a newly Gold Hilton Honors Member, I was very unpleased with this hotel. Never once did we come back to a room where the room was tended to and we did not have the privacy door hanger on. The one time we were approached by housekeeping, we were getting ready to leave for the beach and stated we did not need service until after we left. We stayed three nights. Never did we have replenished towels. The shower was not clean as hair was found on the shower floor before we even took a shower. The trash was not emptied, so we kept bags from shopping to ensure trash was adequately taken care of. Coffee and condiments were not replenished. The rooms paint was horrible. Honestly, it was very disappointing as it was more of a self serve vibe. We live in Orlando and went to the AC Orlando for a brunch on their rooftop and it was amazing. As Marriott is pretty consistent with their branding, I wanted to stay here specifically because it was a newer hotel but honestly, I felt like it was a big dent in the pocket rather than something that was well worth the cost. Service was very nice, valet guys were amazing but definitely not usual to a true Marriott experience. Although I was super grateful we were able to be choosey about our stay, I would not stay again.

I have stayed here before in the past and the service was great, but this trip was not the same. The front desk girl was extremely nice when I checked in but she was new and did not add my late check out in, which later caused me to be locked out of my room. The manager was not kind(middle aged, dark hair, Asian), she looked very angry and not put together all three times I visited the front desk. During our stay, there was a hurricane that came through, not allowing us to leave the hotel or enjoy any of the pool area or rooftop that we were so excited for. On our second day, I visited the front desk to ask if we could be refunded for the last night because we would rather go home than be stuck in a hotel room all day again, and we were lucky to find a new flight that could get us home before the next storm came through. The manager said I should have came before 3pm to ask and offered nothing but a rude glare on her face that made us feel extremely uncomfortable. The next morning when we were locked out of our room and I needed help getting my room key fixed, she was quick to blame me because I “only have gold status” and I shouldn’t have ever been granted a 3pm checkout anyways, even though the other employee confirmed we had a 3pm checkout. I would also like to point out we were soaking wet from being rained on and had to sit listening to this manager blame us for getting locked out when it was 12pm and we just needed to get into our room to get our luggage and out dry clothes on. During this, she still had a awful attitude and never apologized for us being locked out of our room due to her employee not checking me in correctly. My partner and I were physically uncomfortable to visit the desk once again when we checked out at 12:45pm to ask to change our payment method. Because of this manager causing multiple uncomfortable encounters, I will no longer stay here. To be clear, my team and I stay in a Marriott hotel every week and have never been treated this way by a manager and I hope it does not happen again.

Location is everything for this hotel. Right across the street from superior beach access. It is far enough down from the large hotels that the beach is much more private. Easily accessed cabanas each day. The pool was open dawn to dusk everyday and offered a view of the bay and the beach. There were 3 bars with friendly bartenders at each one. We stopped by often. We had a rental car and valet was quick and efficient. The fastest valet service we have had in a long time. Our favorite part was the quick walk to local restaurants and other shops while also staying in a clean, modern hotel. Front desk ladies at both check in and check out were inviting and friendly, which started our experience out smoothly.

Our stay at this Marriott Beach hotel was absolutely perfect from start to finish! The location couldn’t be better—just steps from the soft white sand and crystal-clear water. The views from our balcony were breathtaking, especially at sunrise. Da’Naasia and Betsy went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and helped us with everything we requested as well as recommendations! This hotel is the perfect mix of comfort, luxury, and Florida charm. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Clearwater Beach!

This is the average hotel and the service was horrible. The lobby is super modern and fancy, but when you get up to the rooms, it is made very cheaply. The bathrooms are constantly getting dirty and the room service wasn’t that great in the cleaning. Also, the service was unacceptable. We asked for towels multiple times and they never came. The front desk ladies weren’t friendly at all and unprofessional at some point. The only positive thing about this hotel was that it was walking distance to the beach, But keep in mind you are not waterfront. There is a whole other line of hotels in front of this hotel so you don’t get a clear view of the water. But it’s like a five minute walk to the water, which is great and there is plenty of restaurants that you can walk to also. But in my opinion, I won’t be staying here again

The hotel has the potential to be a very nice place for guests to enjoy beautiful Clearwater Beach, but the cleanliness and customer service is in need of some serious improvements. One day prior to our arrival, my husband used the messaging app to request extra pillows because he just had rotator cuff surgery and had to sleep completely propped up. When we arrived the following evening (late) we asked if the pillows were in the room….the front desk lady indicated that didn’t really use that part of the app and she would have security bring up the extra pillows…the pillows never arrived. The next morning on our way out, we stopped at the front desk and again requested the pillows. Again…. NO pillows were delivered after being told they would have housekeeping put them in the room…after a third request, we finally received the requested pillows. The room was not clean when we arrived and the shower door would not close properly. There were goldfish crackers, hair and dirt on the floors…the room clearly had not been vacuumed or mopped after the last guests. I totally get the rooms not being perfect because it’s a beach hotel and it’s going to have some sand etc…. But it should be mostly clean. The room was serviced each day which was nice but it was not swept or vacuumed. My husband is a titanium elite guest and used points for the stay but was charged a $310 deposit. When my husband called to inquire about the charge, the lady was not helpful and just kept saying it’s a deposit that that would not be refunded and just said we would have to talk with a manger…not helpful at all. We have never been charged a non-refundable deposit and have stayed there 2 other times using points. We are still working on that issue and hope to have a resolution on Monday when the manager is back. We will not be back to the AC because there are other Marriott and Hilton properties in Clearwater Beach that offer better customer service and clean rooms.

Yelp
Initially I read the reviews and made up my mind I didn't want to stay here lol. BUT! Thanks goodness for experiencing without judgement. The staff were so friendly and Morgan was a very nice waitress. My guy made friends with the valet staff. The room was gorgeous spacious, glass shower, spacious bathroom, and comfortable bed. Only complain is housekeeping arrives every other day but you are alerted about all services prior to check-in. There are two separate elevators to access rooms because the hotel is located on the 5th floor. The pool closes at dusk :( I kept reading that guests feet were black after walking in the rooms. We never experienced this.

Yelp
This hotel is a nice property. Love the AC Brand but this hotels cleaning staff does a lousy job at cleaning the sand up from the room floors. There was sand on the floors when I arrived. I could not fully get comfortable daily because they did not sweep or mop. I reported it to the front desk but the same thing happened daily. I love that the hotel was one block from gulf view street which is really close to the beach. The pool is small but functional. Front desk staff was nice. I was greeted with a smile. But clean those floors. Overall decent stay.

Yelp
One of the worst Marriott stays ever. Do not stay here. The reviews are so accurate. We booked a king size room. Well, the room was supposed to have everything listed on website. The room has no robes, no water, and no iron. The floors are dirty in room. Do not walk barefoot or come out of shower unless on towel. Disgusting. The rooftop bar also closed with no signs or anything. They advertise it on the website but don't expect to use it, never open. Also, our shower had no water pressure. Complained two days in a row and no one seemed to care. Also complained to corporate and they r like oh well. Well,if you want to stay at a hotel who doesn't care about their guests, you should stay here! But if you are like most people, you want great hospitality and clean rooms so please don't stay here until they change their ways.

Yelp
An Apple Air Tag tracker was taped to my car on the premises while parked in the valet on my first night (they do not let you park your own car). My iPhone notified me that I was being tracked after picking up my car in the morning (there was no indication of being tracked earlier than that). Later that day, I found an Apple Air Tag taped to my wheel well. I brought my concerns to the attention of the manager and he acted as if he had never heard of anything like this happening and allegedly they do not have camera footage they can check in the garage. He never offered to call the police or do anything to help the fact that he had a guest who was extremely uncomfortable in his hotel. I asked politely if I could check out and get my remaining nights refunded and the manager made a call to his "boss" saying "The people who found the tracker on their car want to dip out early" giving no other context. He was in no way helpful at all. I spoke with a manager the following day and I got the same run around that they could not refund me, but they can offer me 1,500 points..... which is about $18. Until my boss called and ripped them apart, they refused to cooperate. When I went in for a receipt showing my refund, they complained that they wouldn't be able to turn the room that night (after asking 3 times to check out before 11 AM). This place is a joke, do not stay here unless you want to deal with shady management.

Yelp
Very disappointed! No conditioner in shower , bed was awful and housekeeping tried to get in room several times with the privacy sign. Marriott Gold Elite and won't be back .

Yelp
Came here for my honeymoon. We had booked a room with a single king bed. We check in and head up to our room. When we get to the room, there are two queen beds. We head right back downstairs to ask them if they could switch us to the room we had booked. They tell us "ohhh i see what happened. this is our busy season so we don't have that available". There was no apology or attempt to make it right. We brushed it off. Then, there was hair in the shower and just walking around the room for a couple of minutes barefoot, our feet were black. My husband went down to the desk and informed them of these issues. THEN they offer to upgrade us to the room we PAID for, even though it "wasn't available" an hour prior. We declined moving since we had already cleaned up the room ourselves. They did give us some vouchers for the bar, however. Then, while showering, the conditioner was completely empty even though we hadn't used it yet. We called down to the desk and they said someone would bring it right up. After 10 minutes of waiting IN THE SHOWER for said conditioner, my husband got dressed and had to go down to the desk to get it himself. Some of the bar staff were very rude as well. This place is not worth the price tag AT ALL.

Madeline G.

Yelp
We prepaid for our room and when we showed up they said they have it away and only had two queens available but that this room "had better amenities" which was a bold face lie. They put us in a handicap room which was not nearly as nice as what we had already paid them for. It had an open shower that drains into the middle of the bathroom and a plastic shower curtain with a foldable plastic chain in the shower. I'm actually not sure how that shower was genuinely handicap accessible because it was much smaller than what we were supposed to have. I went back down and told them that wasn't going to work and they said that we should feel lucky because they completely kicked other people out because they oversold the hotel but kept our reservation because we had prepaid. They said there were wedding blocks in the hotel but as we were actually there to celebrate US getting married, I know that wedding blocks are made a year in advance from the wedding and have a certain amount of rooms that are added by contract so it was no surprise to them that they were giving people rooms they didn't have. It was their choice to oversell the hotel and they made it mine. Eventually they gave us another room with two queens which had a balcony so they pretended they were "upgrading us" which is what they should have done initially instead of being deceptive about the first room. They still did not understand that two people to a smaller queen bed was not the same as a larger king bed that we had prepaid for. They offered no reparation or compensation to fix the issue and were even rude and defensive when we brought up that we were not happy with the situation and how they handled it. There are many other places to stay that I'm sure easily have better customer service. Also being a long-standing Bonvoy member and having made a Marriott wedding block booking ourselves for our wedding this is extremely disappointing. Honestly considering pulling the Marriott blocking and moving it all to Hilton now so my wedding guests don't have to deal with this.

Yelp
I would do anything you can to stay away from this hotel. I'm a lifetime platinum Marriott member and I've been staying at Marriott hotels exclusively for over 20 years. This is the first time I've ever written a negative review for a property before. This hotel is the worst, we checked in, our room had hair all over the bathroom, shower and just in the general living areas like the nights stands and desk. Called first thing in the morning to have the room cleaned and they never came all day. Called downstairs to remind them, still never came and by the time they did (8PM) we were getting ready for dinner. Then we scheduled another cleaning through the app and called the front desk the next morning. Nobody came. We're thinking by the third day they would get it together, nope. Came back 8PM on the third day and the room hadn't been touched. Second day we were there the pool area was closed for a "private event". The last night which was a Friday, the rooftop bar was closed. Every night, the elevators that have direct access to the guest floors were wide open and no key card was necessary to gain access. This entrance was maybe 15-20ft from the public sidewalk. The staff doesn't seem to even care. I guess they think this place will just get booked due to the location. I won't be staying here ever again.

Yelp
The Family and I stayed at AC hotel by Marriott, Clearwater Beach. Very nice newer hotel across the street from the beach. The hotel being new was clean and rooms were modern. Staff, although appearing friendly not very helpful. There were several things that I was disappointed with. First, there was a new hotel across street under construction, which resulted with a constant noise issue and a temporary construction path walk to the beach. I realize that's not the hotels fault, but this should of been relayed to us upon booking, with the premium price I was charged for this stay, this construction made me feel that I extremely over paid. Second, room was advertised with ocean view, that was only technically accurate. I had to essentially press my head up against the window in my room and contort my neck to get a glimpse of the ocean. Third, bar prices and for that matter the extra charge for amenities of any sort were outrageous. Fourth, had prepaid for reservation, but when checked in, my credit card was hit with a $100 extra charge with no explanation, still don't know if that charge has been removed and it's been days later. Needless to say, will not go back to the AC hotel on my next visit to Clearwater.

Yelp
Well, it all started with the valet parking, they told me it would be $31.00 a day to park even though we already had reservations! I asked the valet is there a deal for someone that is staying at the hotel and he said no, unfortunately not. Okay, fine what other options do we have.... So we check in and I ask the front desk, and they say yes, it'll be $19 a day for staying with us! Then when i checked out they tried to charge me the $31 when i was already told it would $19 a day! Under protest they gave in and granted me the $19. But if I wouldn't have mentioned or argued it they would've charged me full price. Another situation happens with the towel narc! We've been to hotels in the past that allow us to take towels to the beach! So we were in the lobby trying to figure it out while a Karen/towel narc was listening to us discussing getting towels. She let me go through the whole process of going back upstairs to grab some towels while my kids and wife waited in the lobby, when I got back down and we were ready to head to the beach, she stopped us and went out of her way to take the towels away from us and embarrass us into giving them back to her, not allowing me to take them back up to the room! Mind you, she actually stopped the elevator doors from closing when apprehending us! Then asked us for our room number to send up more towels since she was taken them, I assume cause she didn't trust that we would! Very condescendingly, But never ordered us new towels cause when we got back to our room later that day, there were no towels in our room. This is was all just day two... I definitely will not be coming back to this hotel just cause of her! I wouldn't even had posted this review if it wasn't for her! It's not about the policy with the towels it's just about the way she approached us! Like if we were criminals attempting to steal her towels! Like as if she caught us red handed and she had to feel superior and take them away, like if we were her children who got caught doing something wrong! Just be careful if you visit this place, she might be lurking watching you from the side listening to your conversation to then pounce on you if you're thinking about using the towels for the beach!! Mrs Karen the Towel Narc!! You work at a hotel where it's about customer service! Learn how to approach people! There's a difference between being condescending and real and genuine! You could've handled it completely differently! But no you decided to be a detective handling a crime.

Yelp
Went here in my honeymoon. Booked the room 2 months before the wedding. Got there and they put us in a room we didn't pay for with smaller beds. When we went to the desk they told us there was nothing they could do because "it's our busy season." Their busy season being memorial day weekend (we were there the Monday before Memorial Day weekend and stayed all week and through the weekend so someone got our room that just came for the weekend riddle me that.) Had to go to CVS for shampoo and conditioner because when I called the front desk and asked for some they never came. Also had to go to CVS for TOILET PAPER. Went to the desk to ask for some, the lady couldn't find it anywhere so she told me she would send someone to our room. That never happened ether. Oh I almost forgot. The first 2 hours of our honeymoon we spent scrubbing the floors with Clorox wipes because my wife's feet turned black from walking bare foot in our hotel room. This place is a dump and a money grab. The pools dirty, the bartenders at the pool are rude (talking to you bald guy) You couldn't pay me to go back and stay in this hole. If it wasn't for the pure joy that my wife and I just got married, it would have ruined the whole trip. Do not stay here. And if you're reading the bad reviews after already booking the hotel and seeing if other people are having fun the same experience as you, I'm sorry. I was in your shoes too. Sucks to get fooled like this. Spend the extra couple bucks and stay somewhere else, or better yet, go support one of the funny little mom and pop places on the back street. These big hotels buy out these properties and have completely changed clear water sense I was a little kid. If that's not your vibe and you want something more luxury, pass on the AC it's horrible. Yelp
The lobby and amenities are nice. Clean hotel. Staff are friendly. Hotel rooms are small. Modern and minimalistic. The shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel dispensers in the shower were empty. We asked for refills but never received it. We asked for extra towels one night, and no one showed up. We were poolside one day, but the waitress never checked on us once. We eventually left and bought food and drinks off-site. Not as customer-friendly as I would have expected. The location is great and central to a lot of activities on the beach. We stayed at the AC for 6 days.

Yelp
I am very impressed with my stay at the AC Hotel in Clearwater Beach. We had a group of 14 individuals stay for a special weekend together which Tracy Norwood, their Dual Senior Sales Manager, helped us organize. The hotel is conveniently located with the beach right across the street and there are tons of shoppes, restaurants, and things to do nearby. My favorite part has to be the beautiful sunrise that you can view from your room depending upon which room you have. This hotel, like many AC Hotel locations, has an impeccable modern design and feel. The staff was very friendly and helpful for all of our requests. The room was spotless and had everything we needed. An adequate amount of towels, pillows, and sheets for the bed. The balcony was amazing and I was able to have an overlook of the pool and skyline view. Some of the individuals from our group utilized the gym and said it was a good place for a quick sweat but they didn't have a ton of variety. All in all this was an incredible stay and I am considering returning. If you are planning on bringing a group here I would suggest reaching out to Tracy Norwood! She will ensure your stay is as enjoyable as can be!

Yelp
Checked in today. Nice hotel great location. Room is nice except once again NO DRESSER for clothes. Not sure what the idea with this style really is but I am not a fan at all! It makes zero sense except to save money on building dressers. There is no extra room, but still no place for my clothes. Next stop was pool and it was very disappointing! Besides the lack of space around the actual pool, only 10 chairs. The pool had garbage in it which I actually used the skimmer to scoop out a paper cup and paper receipt from the bottom of pool. The pool itself was also very dingy. Extremely disappointing! Also a large amount of bugs in the pool area, may want to spray often. The topper to the stay was the notice received that there would be no water in morning due to a City problem . The hotel offered bottled water and hand sanitizer . Nice gesture but regardless who is the cause of the inconvenience the hotel should have offered additional incentives for the inconvenience. Minimum extra Bonvoy points or parking fee lifted. But when I asked the desk they were adamant that it isn't THIER fault so no compensation. Well I find that insulting. This huge hotel chain can clearly afford to compensate its customers with something more then a bottle of water and hand sanitizer for this major inconvenience. As usual staff was very cordial and helpful !

Len R.

Yelp
After a long day at work, my coworker and I stopped at the lobby bar for a drink before heading up to the room. After one drink, the presumptuous bartender declared that we were intoxicated and refused to serve us another drink. I have never been refused a drink at any Marriott property in the 40+ years I've been staying with Marriott. Needless to say, this is my last stay at any Marriott property.

Yelp
The AC Marriott was one of our greatest experiences! We stayed at the AC for December 18, 2022 through January 9, 2023 and I cannot say enough kind words about the staff, the entire staff was truly amazing, from Eric, Natasha, Kelly, Paul, Jamie, Jolita, Lena, and Reece to the valet guys, all amazing and made our trip awesome (in spite of several days of cold weather), all we truly the best of the best! Everyone went above and beyond to make us feel at home, Kelly even made my wife a birthday cake! This is truly a remarkable group of people.

Nancy M.

Yelp
Excellent service. Very nice, new, clean rooms. Only 2 concerns. Do not get a room near the fitness center on 10th floor. Too noisy. The valet was not organized, left our keys in the car overnight and then could not find out car. Other than that, I would definitely return.

Zee S.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay!!! The staff was very friendly and helpful!!! The view was great... The hotel is in walking distance to everything you'll need... I will definitely be staying at AC Hotel in Clearwater again!!!!

Jenny J.

Yelp
One of the best hotel we have ever stayed at! From the amazing customer service to the amenities. Everything was worth the price.

Yelp
I stayed here with 3 friends on a short summer trip. The AC hotel is nicely renovated and has a great atmosphere. However, I have several complaints. The hotel asked for a card to have on file (per usual), and began charging the card for over the amount of the entire stay, even though we had already paid the balance prior. They overdrew my friends bank account and kept having to talk to management: who said they would fix it and it seemingly is not getting fixed. Also: it is noted that housekeeping is supposed to come every other day. Throughout our 4 night stay, they did not come once, even though we requested it at least 3 times. It is also worth noting that we called one morning to let them know that we would be out of the room all day so that they could clean and were told that they would be cleaning at 7 P.M. We returned at 9 P.M. to a dirty room. The pool bartender was also very condescending and rude as my group returned from the beach with our cooler and wanted to stop at the pool before heading up to our room. We were told that we had to remove the cooler from the pool deck because "no outside food or drink was allowed" even though nobody opened the cooler and there were plenty of other guests drinking out of their yeti cups, drinking sodas, etc. I do want to thank the valet men for being so kind all week, y'all are great!

Yelp
Great new hotel walkable to Clearwater Beach, 1 block from the sand. Helpful staff, excellent food and bar offerings. Will be back and highly recommend.
