Excellent hotel. Firstly, we arrived a little early and was able to check in which was a great start. The room was absolutely lovely, very spacious and the bed was really comfortable. There was a fridge in the room, plenty storage and the bathroom was perfect with a nice shower and plenty space for storing your toiletries and doing your hair. The location of the hotel is spot on for hockey at the Amerant Bank Arena and perfect for shopping it's literally right beside it and plenty options for food nearby too. An additional bonus is Walmart is a 5 minute walk also. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay in Sunrise.

This is a really nice hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is large and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom is also large and had a great shower. We appreciated having a refrigerator in the room as well as a huge TV! |My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that it was expensive. The hotel is next to a huge mall, very suburban, not in the center of a city. But we paid city prices.

We stayed at this hotel twice in the same month—once pre-cruise and once post-cruise—and overall had a positive experience.||Pros:|The location is excellent. The hotel is just a few meters from Sawgrass Mills, which made shopping incredibly convenient and meant we didn’t need to drive at all during our stay. If shopping is your main focus, this is a major plus.|The staff were friendly, professional, and welcoming on both visits. We were also pleasantly surprised to have our room available before the official check-in time, which is always appreciated after traveling.||Cons:|Parking availability can be limited and seems to depend heavily on how crowded the mall is, which can be frustrating during peak shopping times.|Cleanliness was another minor issue. After walking around the room in white socks for a few minutes, they were noticeably dirty, suggesting the floor had not been thoroughly cleaned.||Despite these drawbacks, we would stay here again. The pros outweigh the cons, especially for the location and service. Next time, we’ll just make sure to wear slippers indoors.

I had to come here and show my gratitude and appreciation for Aaron, bar tender here at Marriott. What an admirable guy. When I tell you that he’s not only very professional and friendly but so personable! My husband and I had so much fun just enjoying his recommendations and talking about life. What an amazing human being. I wasn’t even going to do a review here wasn’t thinking of it, better said. But Aaron was impressive. Make sure you stop by here and enjoy your time! Have a chat, have some wine or a Moscow Mule like I did 🥰😌 good food, good service, take my word for it. And he took a picture for us 🥲🤭🫶🏽

Here’s a quick review you can paste: Stayed one night at the AC Hotel Fort Lauderdale Sawgrass Mills to squeeze in some shopping before my flight, and it was perfect for that. The location can’t be beat—just a few minutes from Sawgrass Mills—and parking/check-in were fast and easy. My room was modern, spotless, and quiet with a super-comfortable bed and strong Wi-Fi, exactly what I needed for a short stay. I appreciated the stylish lobby/bar area for a quick bite and the early morning coffee before heading to the airport. Great value and convenience—I’d definitely stay again for a shopping/airport stopover.

Google
Great place to stay for Sawgrass. But it was quite cold ain November nd there is heating in rooms just AC that works very well. Parking is horrendous, the big joke is vallet parking for shops has blocked of area in car park the hotel doesn't+ only 3 handicap spaces. It's fine before the mall opens and later in the evening just don't go out if you have a space mid afternoon. They let you park in the loading area with a dashboard sign, however we had an employee shouting at us for trying (we had the sign and handicap badge, once we said reception said we could he calmed down. I had a handicap tub room and as usual all the soap/shampoo was 1/2 way up the wall. It's an accesible bathtub room. Please put them lower or have 2 lots. Finally the desk staff were lovely and agreed with parking issues that have the same problem. I don't think I would stay again just because of the parking issues, unless that gets sorted. It would be cheaper to stay 10 mins away and use Uber to the mall. You pay quite a premium for the location.and as I have mobility issues thought it would be ideal. No PS you can't use Sawgrass vallet parking as they only work in afternoon and evening and keep you keys. Unless you bail your car out every evening with them. .

This hotel doesn’t have heat. I know it’s Florida, but it can still get cold. Our room was 63F and there was no way to get it to warm up since there was literally no heat. The warmest it got was 65F, and it wasn’t even cold outside. Make sure to never stay here when the temps are below 90F outside.

I’m extremely disappointed by the treatment my husband and I received during our recent visit to AC Hotel by Marriott at Sawgrass. We arrived with a confirmed, prepaid reservation (#90316627), only to be told our room could not be honored due to “overbooking.” The front desk clerk was rude, dismissive, and claimed to be the supervisor, saying no manager was available. To make matters worse, another family was checked in at the same time without issue, which made us feel discriminated against and completely disregarded. We’ve stayed at this property many times since it opened, but this was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had. Thankfully, the Hilton DoubleTree nearby welcomed us with professionalism and kindness — a stark contrast. As a longtime Marriott Bonvoy member, this experience has made me seriously question my loyalty to the brand. I hope management at AC Hotel by Marriott at Sawgrass takes this feedback seriously and provides proper training so guests are treated with fairness, empathy, and respect.

Yelp
I've visited the bar inside the AC Hotel previously and found it to be just okay. However, I decided to give it another try on a Saturday night for my birthday, joined by family visiting from out of state. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing due to the lack of bartending expertise and communication. We were at the bar, and stood for about 5-7 minutes before any bartenders arrived. There was no one behind the bar, only two other guests, almost finished with their drinks. When a female bartender eventually came, we placed our order. We asked if she knew how to make a spicy margarita and ordered two of them, and a pineapple cava from their specialty menu. She told us she didn't know how to make it and had to wait for another bartender to do it. After another 2-3 more minutes wait, someone who knew how to prepare the pineapple cava finally showed up. From the time we placed our order to the last drink being made, it took about 17-20 minutes. We sat down to have our drinks, the bar lights were suddenly turned off within a few minutes of sitting, and the staff left without saying anything to the patrons, including us. It was confusing, as there was no communication indicating whether the bar was closing or if they were just stepping away. We continued our conversation and finished our drinks, but when we were done, there was no one around to collect our glasses, so we politely left them on the bar and exited. Our original plan was to visit the rooftop bar, but we were told by the front desk that it was closed, so we settled for the lobby bar instead. Given that this establishment is located in the popular Sawgrass Mills Mall, which attracts visitors from all over the country, I believe they could improve business if their bartenders had more experience and if there was clearer communication with guests. The drinks themselves were okay, but nothing special or worth returning for. The hotel itself is quite beautiful and offers reasonable rates for overnight stays, which is a plus for people who need accommodations. However, improving the bar experience would greatly enhance the overall appeal of this location.

Yelp
Modern, new hotel. Located in the sawgrass mall perimeter. Premises boasts a beautiful rooftop deck and bar as well as a well appointed gym. As with other AC properties, there is an on-site bar and lounge. Staff were friendly and housekeeping was seen round the clock during my 4 day stay. Loses two stars primarily due to the lack of dedicated hotel parking which will be a major issue during the holidays for anyone staying there - sawgrass mall is a major tourist destination - as well as the fact that the property seems to have no water fountains (not ESG / sustainability friendly) for drinking water (not even in the gym on the first floor and that there is a major issue with low the bathroom showers are grouted and sealed (that dreaded pink mold was persistent event though housekeeping definitely cleaned the shower).

Yelp
Stayed there the weekend after Christmas with my fiancee after our cruise. We were there for 3 days and it was amazing. The hotel was clean, the staff was attentive and professional and gave all the needed insight for food and drinks. The happy hour was also great. The drinks and food hit every single day. Special thanks to Lenox. He was there our first day ti check us in and even got us in a bit earlier than expected so because we got off the cruise so early. Will always recommend this hotel and this staff.

Yelp
I'm still in disbelief that I paid so much for such an exhausting, substandard stay accompanied by poor customer service. I checked in at 3:45 on this past Friday afternoon after flying from the west coast. The desk clerk asked if a handicapped room was ok and as I have health issues that necessitate such occasionally, I agreed. It was also mentioned there was an event that evening, but at the time I did not realize the significance of this. I drop my things and get some shopping in, heading back towards the hotel around 8ish - only to discover that the "event" referenced was an 18th birthday party on the eighth floor rooftop complete with DJ and karaoke AT DEAFENING VOLUME. I ordered food (just an aside, the dust staff apparently has a huge issue with allowing delivery to your door despite your agreement to such. I was told "this is not your apartment.") In any case, I put my headphones on to deal with the noise, eat my dinner and try to rest. Once the music stopped, then the noise on the floor I was staying started. There was running up and down the halls and doors slamming. I assumed that most of the kids from the 18th birthday party were on my floor so again I put on my headphones and unsuccessfully try my best to sleep. It was when I undressed for bed that I realized how filthy the floor was. Walking across the floor barefoot, my feet picked up a disgusting amount of dirt and particles. I woke the next morning to try to take a shower, and realized how narrow the shower was. I am not a large person and could barely shower as there is a very small amount of floor space to stand where the rainfall shower comes down, and the drain starts. on top of that, the shower curtain is at least 6 inches too short and the ledge is not tall enough to stop any water coming out of the shower. Since it was so narrow, as well, I got the decidedly unpleasant experience of the shower curtain continually sticking to me throughout the shower. Needless to say, water covered half the bathroom floor. I used towels to clean it up as I am in a rush for my day's plans. When I return that evening, I am looking forward to getting cleaned up to meet friends for dinner. I take another shower and again, half of the bathroom floor is puddled in water and I step out onto the shower mat and promptly slip and fall. It is at this point I called the desk and let them know how miserable this stay has been. The desk clerk was very polite and apologetic, and offered to have the supervisor call me. This supervisor called and was decidedly not apologetic and not helpful whatsoever. She literally asked "what is it that you want me to do". Although she did say she could have someone come clean up the water, she also argued about the birthday party and the volume and denied any running up and down the hallways and doors slamming. All in all, she could have easily avoided this review by just listening and understanding how scary that fall was to someone that had recently had spinal surgery. She then asked, did I want to speak to the general manager tomorrow, and I said yes. I never received a call not surprisingly. As I was checking out, the desk clerk asked how I enjoyed my stay. I said I did not at all enjoy it and was very unhappy. at that point, he put his head down and finish the checkout and handed me the receipt. I travel to Fort Lauderdale frequently and this is the first I've stayed here - but will absolutely be the last. If you enjoy spending a lot of money for very little service, please stay here. Also, please enjoy the picture attached of the washcloth. I had to continual used to clean my feet in my expensive room with crappy shower.

Yelp
What could have been a wonderful experience unfortunately took a turn for the worst mostly due to the lack of hospitality with staff and manager Scott. We paid for a high floor ocean front room. At check in, the unfriendly attendants tried to put us in a low floor with a poor view. We had to go back and forth several times just to get a mid level room. The second day, the air conditioner went out in the room. They wanted to put us in a standard room with no view...luckily the maintenance man was able to fix the air conditioner. At check out, I spoke to the manager Scott. Normally Marriott stag is friendly and accommodating, unfortunately Scott was not. Not only was Scott unfriendly but he was also condescending and speaking to me in a derogatory manner while I was polite.

Yelp
I have been a loyal Marriott customer for over 12 years and hold a Lifetime Platinum Elite status with Marriott (879 stays/nights). I made a reservation at this location for a two-night stay (October 24th to October 26th) over two months in advance. My experience has left me utterly disappointed and questioning the value of brand loyalty for Marriott. Points of Concern: Overbooking: Despite my reservation with a confirmation number, I was informed upon arrival that the hotel was overbooked. Even though I was checking in at 6:00PM. Lack of Accommodation: I was then sent to another hotel a few miles away, which is inconvenient and unacceptable as I have to check into this other hotel while preparing for business meetings. Note: they did pay for the other hotel. But this causes me to check in, unpack, pack the next morning, check into the AC, and unpack again. The coverage of the one night is not worth the inconvenience. (Not to mention it was not credited toward my Marriott Stays or any of the other amenities provided to their Elite members.) Elite Membership Ignored: When I mentioned my elite membership status, the staff said my reservation did not have my elite number listed. The fact that this was not even considered at the time of the check in conversation of their overbooking mishap is very disappointing. I was basically told I could check into the hotel tomorrow. As a Lifetime Platinum Elite member, I expected better service and more thoughtful handling of this issue. This experience has severely impacted my view of the Marriott brand and Marriott's customer service and makes me rethink where I will spend my future travel dollars.

Yelp
A lot of my company's clients are in Fort Lauderdale and I come here on business trips one or two times a year. I stayed at the AC Hotel Fort Lauderdale on my most recent trip. I have stayed at many Fort Lauderdale hotels and this is by far the best one. The location couldn't be more perfect. Located in Sawgrass Mills. The staff are all lovely. The room was very clean and spacious and the beds are comfortable. It's very basic but very nice. The closet and the amenities are all in one little section together but it works. This is the only hotel I ever want to stay at when I need to come to back to Fort Lauderdale again.

Yelp
Its affordable, great location, clean, spacious and safe. I loved everything about the room- the rainfall shower, the fridge, the TV and the bed. OMG the bed was so comfortable. The staff in the front desk are friendly and helpful. Great location if you are going to shop is in the same location as the Sawgrass Mills Shopping mall and so many restaurants options. Thank you for an amazing stay.

Yelp
AC Hotel by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Sawgrass Mills/Sunrise is a great place to stay when you are in the area. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have everything that you need for the best stay. Great experience every time I have been here.

Yelp
This is the new AC at Sawgrass Mills - the hotel is very European designed and looks pretty amazing from the inside and outside. I had some issues with my first room with some water leaks at the sink so I was able to get another room in short order. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Some of the dining options are expensive but it is line with this tier of hotel. The bar had some delightful drinks.

Yelp
Stay elsewhere. Blood and hairs on bed, white drips on chairs and headboard, unswept floors and dirty showers and walls. Round 2 cleaning ...exact same, the bed was redone fresh towels and toiletries but, NOTHING was cleaned. See pictures want to stay here? I don't think so. I stayed in a double room one bed had hairs on it, I was tired after traveling for 2 weeks internationally so I just slept on the other bed. When I woke up the next morning I pulled the comforter away and saw it was stained with dried blood. The front desk sends the housekeeping supervisor and I send her 8 images of all the filth and show her the comforter. She said she is shocked and can't believe it and sends someone to clean the room. Imagine how pissed I was to find the same blood stained comforter had been remade on the bed! I call the front desk furious and they sent another housekeeper to change the sheets and comforter at night - she came in literally video chatting with a friend. Only put the phone in her pocket once she got to the bed, which requires you to walk all the way onto the room. What kind of mickey mouse operation is this?!?! Anyways, she changed the bed, I tipped her since it was late and cancelled my other nights. I planned on staying 4-10 nights and left after only the 2nd. Just no! You deserve better. Here's the short list as to why not to stay here. Not a Marriott brand standard at all staff needs professional hospitality training. 1. Unsanitary rooms 2. No private parking, you park along with shoppers in the crowded Sawgrass Mall 3. They charge you $20 / package received 4. Twin size pillows in double room vs standard Queen size. Two of the pillows side by side do not even reach the sides of a full bed. More like a euro throw pillow. If you turn your head at night you're off the pillow.

Yelp
This is a truly stunning and fresh property. Staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful, and the rooms themselves felt very modern and refreshing. The location is great, within walking distance of the Mall and Outlets. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
I booked this hotel as it was close to the FLA Arena where I was attending a concert. Upon arrival, the reception desk was busy, but they were able to help guests quickly and efficiently. We were assigned our room and it was easy getting to the elevators. We weren't too far away from the elevator, but I honestly didn't mind as the doors are a bit thin with regards to noise. If someone was walking in the hallway, we could hear everything. However, it was quiet with regards to the adjoint rooms. The room itself was clean and the bathroom was well stocked with toiletries and plenty of towels. We were able to use the Freebee ride app as well to get around Sunrise, FL for free! The front desk provided us the brochure and they picked us up from the hotel to the concert venue in a Tesla X. It was a nice amenity to our stay and would recommend others to this hotel as well. The hotel is also a short walking distance right next to the outlets as well to go shopping.

Yelp
Decided to do a stay caution and was pleasantly surprised to find this little hidden gem. very new modern feel. Very boutique hotel feeling. direct views of the beach. simple and to the point. spacious rooms and good vibes, BUT the rooftop pool is what made the BIGGEST impact. Robert the bartender is so passionate about making everyone feel like family. He goes out of his way to make his own syrups for the drinks he makes. He was so cool that we created a drink together and the next day the pool was filled with them. These details so often go over looked to the point that i had to stop and write. If every hotel has a robert at the bar the travel industry would be in a better place! Kudos to who hired robert.. Great team member that is doing all he can to make sure each guest he comes in contact with has a memorable and fun day experience... I mean isn't that what traveling is all about? We will be back for sure.... ask him about the Tropical Lemonade and the hibiscus ginger margarita!!!

Yelp
The AC Fort Lauderdale is a great place to do some shopping with nice rooms and a great staff. I was here for work as my office is nearby and I am a remote worker. The check in staff was the best, the rooms are big and comfy. If you need a drink, the bar is cozy and well stocked, and CJ is the best. She was so much fun, chatted with us about the area, and tuned a hurricane watch into a party on a Wednesday night. All in all 10/10.

Mimi S.

Yelp
The hotel is beautiful, you get what you pay for. The bartender(bald middle aged, white, and tall) however, needs to go back to bartending school. Not to mention his unfriendly, condescending and dismissive demeanor. Bad attitude aside- the drink was wretched. I got a lemon drop martini- maybe he heard me say simple syrup martini. While I love this hotel, I can easily walk to one of the many other bars in the sawgrass loop for the same overpriced cocktail but with a much more pleasant bartender. The hotel get 5 stars, the bartender gets 0.

Jessica W.

Yelp
If I could give no stars I would. Run away, the only thing the hotel is missing are bugs, but I'm sure it won't be long before they come. Housekeeping is a joke! I had to change rooms three times and it still wasn't clean just tolerable. 1st room had used toiletry items in the trash and shower. 2nd room was worse, private hair in the shower and toilet, the shower floor was almost gray and not white. There was trash and dust all over the floor and corners of the room. 3rd room the shower was discolored from water stains that I was easily able to wipe away with a wet wash towel. Multiple staff just simply apologized as I played musical room. I had to get the GM involved and he reassured me I'll have a full clean everyday but that didn't happen. The housekeeping simply picked up. I have pictures time stamped, I will be adding the photos. You will see the wash towel used to wipe the shower, the trash on the floor, one of the used toiletry (the other was a female product), the hair in the shower in toilet. Picture I didn't get.. white spots on bathroom wall by toilet (I didn't want to think of what that was)

Yelp
My husband and I had such a pleasant stay at the AC! It is walking distance to the mall and the hockey arena. The view from the rooftop is lovely. Both the bartender and the patrons of the hotel bar/happy hour are awesome! We had a great time chatting with everyone. Quality amenities for an affordable price. Would recommend to others and/or visit again! Only thing that could be better if there was a pool and/or if the pool was on the roof!

Peichen F.

Yelp
The hotel is pretty new, and the rooms are very nice, as most other reviews have mentioned. The area is very safe at night, and during the day there's plenty of restaurants and food courts within walking distance. The hotel Wi-Fi is very disappointing. Streaming, gaming, zoom call, backing up to your home office, or connecting to your own/company VPN is almost impossible even with the $4 per day premium Wi-Fi. If you are here to relax or have some family time, I surely would recommend AC, but if you also wish to get some work done or have some fun with friends elsewhere, welcome to early 2000s. *edit: I ran a few tests on my computer, turns out I'm being kicked out of the Wi-Fi when I try to upload large files, play online games, or having a virtual meeting. Certainly do not recommend this hotel for if you wish to work/play virtually during your trip. (changing my rating to 4 stars)
