The company I work for reserved the room for me. I was greeted by the front desk. When asked to put a card on file, I was never told any amount, and just assumed it was an incidentals charge. I got to my room to find that I was charged $470 on my debit card. I was told that this was the price of the room plus incidentals. When I tried to investigate further, I was told to give them an email address for my boss so they could send a credit card authorization form. I provided her email and they wrote it down and said they would take care of it. Upon arrival to 415, there was a bed bug crawling on the comforter. I went downstairs with my belongings and showed the front desk a video of the bug. I was told there were no other rooms, and “are you going to be okay with staying in that room if we go clean it”. I told them absolutely not. bed bugs MUST be quarantined and taken care of to prevent spread. The front desk told me he was completely full. I stood there with my things just ready to cry. He finally found a room? Not sure why he told me he was full if he wasn’t. I made sure to double check all the bedding in the new room. Didn’t sleep well and had to be up for a meeting at 7 am. I checked with the front desk a total of THREE times about sending the email to my boss about the credit card authorization form and the third time the woman at the desk told me that nobody ever sent my boss the email. She finally handled it for me and got it taken care of as far as switching the card on file so I don’t get charged $470 for a room the company I work for reserved for me. This has been the most frustrating and upsetting hotel experience of my life. Not only did the front desk lie to me about communicating with my boss, but I was treated like a nuisance for approaching them about the bed bug situation. I have stayed in other Marriott’s before and had wonderful experiences. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone and do not ever plan to be a returning Marriott guest. This was a level of unprofessionalism I had not experienced before.

The AC Hotel Tallahassee Universities at the Capitol is a lovely, well-situated spot: stylish, modern, and thoughtfully designed. My room was very clean, the staff was welcoming, and the location is ideal. It’s also adjacent to a beautiful park, perfect for a stroll. The details: the air conditioning is built into the wall (thankfully, no rattly window unit), and the quiet steady hum helps mask occasional street or entertainment noise. The bed and bedding were very comfortable, and the entire hotel is truly beautiful. There’s a delicious European style breakfast available for purchase. Parking is easy. Either valet or a convenient self park garage just across the sidewalk. One note: I do wish hotels would stop using bulk wall mounted toiletries. They never feel truly clean, and this otherwise well-kept room deserved better.

As someone new to Tallahassee, my experience was made truly special thanks to Allison at the front desk. From the moment I arrived, she made me feel incredibly welcomed and well taken care of. I had a lot of questions about where to eat and what to see in the area, and she went above and beyond by providing a fantastic list of local spots and attractions. Every single one of her recommendations was spot-on. Even better, the next day she followed up to ask how everything went—talk about going the extra mile! Exceptional customer service like this is exactly why I’ll be staying here again on my next visit. Thank you, Allison, for your kindness, attention to detail, and top-notch hospitality!

I travel often for work and stayed at the AC Hotel in Tallahassee for 11 days during one of my assignments. This hotel ended up being a great choice. The location is perfectly placed near Cascades Park and The Edison, which made it really easy to get out and enjoy the area. I took advantage of the trail at Cascades Park a couple of times during my stay. The on-site hotel restaurant was also very good. I had brunch there and it made for a great view. They do have valet parking which is fine, but personally, I prefer a lot so I can come and go as I please. Still, the valet attendants were always very nice and efficient. The hotel staff was also very friendly. I appreciated that they had a designated setup for deliveries, especially since you need your key card to use the elevators. It made everything feel organized and secure. The rooms themselves were great too. One thing I especially loved was the backlighting feature within the rooms. It gave the space a really clean and modern feel. So much counter space in the bathrooms and the lighting was great. Overall, it was a really solid stay and I would definitely stay here again if I find myself back in Tallahassee.

While the hotel is nothing special, the service is subpar. We came back to a made room with pillows and towels looking like someone was in the room after housekeeping and had a good time. I went to the front desk showing them the pictures and was told "Housekeeping leaves the pillows in the position you slept in the night before, to provide you with the most comfortable sleeping position". I asked why the towels have not been moved based on that explanation and was told "the towels are clearly being used and housekeeping will not touch them if they are being used". I asked if house keeping could make my room and was told "There is nobody here from housekeeping after 5pm" I requested a call from the manager which I never received, so I answered a few questions on the survey Marriott sends you after your stay and received a copy and paste standard message from the General Manager Keith Hoogerheyde this is not the Marriott standard. I guess if Marriott or their staff does not care about their service quality or their guest, then neither will I and will take my money somewhere else. I will avoid his Hotel whenever I can. What a disgrace for Mariott.

From check-in to check-out, my experience was top-tier. The staff was professional, attentive, and welcoming. They treated me like family, not just another guest passing through. The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and the atmosphere was calm and quiet... exactly what I needed after long workdays. What really stood out? The details. Clean lobby, fast Wi-Fi, solid breakfast options, and great water pressure (y’all know how rare that is in hotels). Location was clutch too—easy access to restaurants, highways, and whatever else I needed. I travel a lot for business, and I can confidently say this place is one I’d come back to without hesitation. If you’re looking for a clean, reliable, and relaxing stay with real hospitality, this is it.

Pros: The location is prime. Cascades park is special. Atmosphere is welcoming, coffee close, early or evening walks with an inviting ambience. The Edison (dinner) and Power Plant (breakfast/ lunch) to dine are within walking distance to enjoy the park. A great layout, family and dog friendly. Cons: Parking. The valet and garage are NOT the only options. 470 Suwannee has public parking. For those who are on a business trip that their company pays for parking, valet makes sense. If you are like me who is here for opportunity (child who is moving to FSU/FAMU) then why pay $40 a day? Walk 2 min through the park for free parking. Enough said. Staff was well attentive. Room service was available. Accommodations were what we paid for. Nothing more, nothing less.

Great hotel and event better leadership. My family and I stayed there in transit to Tampa and we had a small challenge however Mattie and the team went above and beyond to make things right. I will definitely be visiting again soon.
