We have encountered lower-rung Marriott hotels like this before. While the public areas of the hotel look nice, the rooms are very disappointing. It seems that when it comes to furnishing the rooms, the owners decided to economize and for some reason Marriott quality assurance didn’t notice this or didn’t care.||The bed seemed worn out, odd for a relatively new hotel. The room had one chair, although there was room for two and to the credit of the hotel staff a second chair was delivered on request.||There was a coffee machine, but no coffee.||There was a fridge but no glassware.||I don’t know why lower-rung hotels seem to think that bathroom towels should be Motel 6 grade (small and thin) but here they are. Two small and thin bath towels, two small and thin hand towels, and no facecloths. Honestly, would it really be that much more expensive to provide decent towels (and more than two of them)?||This hotel can actually be reached by road taxi, which is useful for guests arriving by train at the central (Venezia Mestre) station. In this case, a 25 euro taxi ride is preferable to transferring to another train for the short trip to the Venice station. On arrival there, the walk to the AC Hotel includes a large bridge, and note that Venice is not for people with mobility issues. Steps everywhere and no ramps.||The breakfast buffet seemed quite good, and at 20 euros per person is probably competitive with cafes. ||In summary, we are glad we only stayed 2 nights here. If the location is not important, I advise future visitors to stay elsewhere.
