At first I found the AC Veracruz to be a bit isolated and “cold”, but my attitude changed. We were upgraded from a mini-suite to a full suite and the only room in the hotel with a bathtub. We had a magnificent view and were on the 1st floor, down the hall from the indoor pool. I liked the fact that the stairway was easily accessible to avoid the elevator when just making a quick trip to the lobby. I don’t typically like malls – but the one next door (3 minute walk) had multiple restaurants, including 3 outside, ranging from ok to very good.|The manager made sure we got our upgrade even though the suite needed an extra treatment after some mosquitos had visited the previous guests. Thank you Lady Lopez!|Now for the not so good – a tiny table on our terrace with only one chair. Overpriced breakfast with a buffet that was not replenished. High standard prices. While the neighborhood was fine, it wasn’t interesting. 5 miles north in the historic center of Veracruz there are numerous abandoned and for-rent apartments and buildings, even overlooking the sea. Veracruz itself is not pretty.||4 stars with an extra star for Mrs. Lopez and our large suite.
