Acacia Cliffs Lodge

Absolutely stunning location & accommodation. The views are absolutely breathtaking — but that’s not even the best part. Stephanie and Neil are exceptional hosts who make the entire stay unforgettable. From their warm welcome and homemade cookies to afternoon wine and appetizers — and, if you’re smart enough to say yes, a delicious home-cooked three-course dinner — every detail is perfection. Breakfast is beautiful too with lots of choices. This experience is not to be missed. Do yourself a favour and book it.

We spent 2 nights at the Lodge and had a wonderful time. The room was well appointed and very comfortable. Stephanie and Neil were terrific hosts and provided great service and meals. The views from the Lodge are spectacular. We highly recommend Acacia Cliffs Lodge.

Neil and Stephanie are the perfect hosts. They run a Lodge with beautiful rooms and comfortable beds that look over the lake. They serve food that observes ingredients, customs, and presentations of|Local and Asian traditions. Their wine list draws from the finest local productions presented with their own label

We stayed here for 3 nights a few days after arriving in NZ after a very long overseas trip. It was pure luxury! Perhaps we didn’t read the reviews or website throughly enough, but it was over and beyond what we expected! Neil and Stephanie are not only the owners but chefs too (Neil is a trained chef) and you’re welcome to have a 5-star dinner (separate rate) nightly and breakfast is included daily. The FOOD is spectacular! It is fresh and they prep for hours to get ready for you. My husband is celiac and they made sure he had gluten free bread and meals. The view from our bedroom was stunning and although we were resting a lot, it felt like a vacation just watching the sunrise over the lake from bed each morning. They also do turn down service nightly and left cookies and chocolates for us — the room was also equipped with a bottle of wine & luxury teas. I could go on and on but it’s more than a B&B, it’s blissful, peaceful and just what we needed. We left feeling ready for our big hike in the South Island and continued travels! Thank you for a wonderful time!

Wow! Just wow! Incredible views, spotlessly clean, very very comfortable and a brilliant welcome from Neil and Stephanie and the meal Stephanie cooked was totally delicious. You have private space but also lots of room on the deck and in a shared lounge to mix with the other guests if you want to. And the nighly wine/canape hour was very welcome to. What an amazing place!

Wonderful stay at Acacia Cliffs Lodge, huge comfortable room with fabulous bathroom and lovely private courtyard. We so enjoyed the position of the lodge, with stunning views over Lake Taupo, and loved meeting and interacting with the other guests and with Neil and Stephanie, who are great hosts. Dining at the lodge one evening with the other guests, the delicious meal expertly cooked by Neil and Stephanie, was excellent. Would 100% recommend Acacia Cliffs Lodge, especially if you like meeting and socialising with other guests.

This Inn is absolutely stunning the innkeepers were fabulous hosts with a lovely breakfast and also a social hour with wine samplings and delicious appetizers. The room was immaculate and the views from the living room took my breath away of the lake and the lovely sheep on property. The Lodge offers dining prepared by the hosts and the guests we met said it was the best meal in all of New Zealand I will have to return and make certain to try the sampling. This area is picturesque with the lake a short drive. I definitely recommend.

Acacia Cliffs Lodge is a boutique lodge on the cliffs overlooking Lake Taupo. The current owners, Neil and Stephanie are great hosts. Soft-spoken, but affable, they stayed up to receive us when we got in late. There is a continental breakfast of yogurt, granola, and fruit. They offer a cooked breakfast, where they just cook you your eggs or pancakes. The facility itself is basically their home, but is structured like a lodge. There appears to be 3 rooms on the first floor off the foyer: 2 with a lake view, and the one on the right is a "garden" view. To get to breakfast, you go up the stairs. To the right is the amazing living room area where we had wine and appetizers. To the left is a small living room and the dining room. The dining room had amazing views. Down the hall are the other rooms. The dinner was amazing (see pics attached), and the hospitality was generous. If we ever come back, we're definitely staying here.

Gorgeous views and great host! We loved talking to Rick and his wife, Linda. They were gracious hosts and served us wonderful canapés and wine and cooked us delicious breakfast every morning. Our bed and room were super comfortable. Everything was lovely! Rick was great to offer us recommendations on where to eat for dinner and activities in the area.
