Lack of communication. ||No one speaks English Micromanagement- The manager penny pinches everything. She felt us a long message complaining about us needing extra towels, when we asked for a handtowel and soap that the house keeper did not leave. She only gives you one towel per person every three days. She wanted to charge us $1usd every time we needed to use another towel . I felt that it was unsanitary to use the same towel all over your body and face for 3 days. I felt that the staff watched every move and got annoyed when we asked for simple things like an extra blanket ,because she has a small thin hard throw on the bed that is not large enough for even a child. The hotel does not give you the basic needs for you stay , especially if you are long term . This place is not equipped to handle long term clients. A day or two here is okay . Ants are in the room and bathroom and crawl all over everything. Shower pressure is too soft , but it does get warm The TV does not offer any channels in English, nor subtitles. The hotel we moved to had atleast American CNN. The staff makes you feel unwelcome when you need extra things , due to the lack of basic needs that they provide . Only one staff member made us truly feel welcomed ||No elevator for the elderly. Only stairs ||Do not even think about asking for extra pillows. They are flat and outdated and only want to give you 2. They complained that they do not have enough The building is outdated and need renovation , decor is ugly, windows make loud noises, our bathroom doorknob was broken when we arrived and it locked my mother inside the bathroom . Took them 3 days to come in to tighten it. Only saw one hammock hanging up , and never saw any guest use it. Website states she has a gift shop and it's just a curio cabinet Rooms are small and basic. You would do better off getting a hotel a little further in( Garra) and catching a uber to the beach. Ubers are cheap in Brazil||The Garra area is upscale, near downtown and barra beach .

This pousada is in a good location and is decently priced. The neighborhood seemed pretty safe. The staff, despite not knowing English was very nice and helpful. They always had the google translator up if you needed to communicate. Good wifi. Good hot water and water pressure in the shower. The breakfast was pretty good and I think they changed it around a little each morning so you're not always eating the same thing. I think someone else mentioned this, but the windows were a bit noisy when hit by the wind. That didn't bother me much though so I'll still give them 5 stars.

This was a simple Pousada, don't expect high end boutique bed and breakfast. But it was clean, perfectly located, safe and the staff was super friendly. Staying here really made our trip enjoyable. The breakfast every morning was amazing- fresh fruit, breads/ cakes baked the night before, yogurt. Again, the rooms are basic but clean and well maintained. We saw other pousadas in the area and were horrified. This is one of the best- even nicer than some hotels. The problems- the phone line is always busy because a staff member is always on it talking. This was a nightmare for us when booking and the taxi driver bringing us in could not reach them to get the exact directions. Otherwise, we were happy during the week we spent there.

The pousada is very well located. The room we had was classy and sober, clean and quite big, with a nice shower. The persons that work at the pousada are adorable, they almost consider you as family, even though they don't speak english, but we used Google Translation and it was funny. The breakfast is really good. Really don't hesitate to go !

The room was large enough with private bathroom. People were friendly. Breakfast really nice. Location is close to the beach, rather good I believe. Negative is the fact that we have to pay cash. It's annoying because withdrawals at bank are limited so I had to use almost 2 days of full withdrawals to pay a 4 nights stay. All in all, I enjoyed the place and recommend it.

I opted for the Pousada Acacia primarily because the good reviews on tripadvisor. Thus, my expectations were rather high since usually the ratings and feedbacks on tripadvisor are helpful and spot on. The Pousada was nice (not outstanding but nice) and centrally located. The staff is indeed very friendly and the breakfast (which is included) is outstanding. I found the price at the upper end though for what it offers. I have to admit though that I stayed during the world cup season and all hotels were overpriced during that time, but you can certainly find similar accommodation for less the price. The only thing, however, I did not appreciate is that they do not accept credit cards but ONLY cash payment. I don't remember having seed that information on the Pousada's website or elsewhere (but I may be wrong). In general, however, I find Pelourinho more attractive to stay. It is easy to go to the beach by bus, but at night, Pelourinho is definitely more fun.

Very good pousada! Staff very nice and friendly. The room clean. The breakfast very good!||They accept only cash, that was the problem because when I booked from trip advisor didn't say anywhere was only cash payment. Also I had to filled up all credit card info, so I thought they accepted the credit card. ||For sure, there's a problem on trip advisor, on web. I don't know who should solve it. The pousada, booking or trip advisor.

I was apprehensive when I first entered the pousada, it's quite basic and rustic in design.||||Negatives||- Found it very hard to sleep, the windows are old style, none double glazed, and wooden and the winter wind in Salvador is vicious, it howls all night and rattled the rickety windows non-stop. I slept on the last night after stuffing the 3 doors and window with card.||- It was cold at night in the room, with a thin sheet on the bed and when I asked for a blanket, I was given one that would be too small for a child.||-Bed was uncomfortable and they didn't change the sheets throughout my stay||-Towels are changed every two days and mine were dirty before I'd used them.||-TV screen was tiny and not flatscreen in Room 2, I peeked into the room next door, room 1? They had a bigger flatscreen.||-20 minute wait at check in.||- They told me I'd been overcharged then made me pay the price for two people anyway, essentially ripping me off.||||+ Good location, walking distance to buses, the lighthouse, restaurants and Barra shopping centre||+ Free filtered water, so you can buy a bottle and fill it up at breakfast.||+Room itself was clean ( bring your own sheets and towel)||+Fantastic breakfast, with a wide choice of homemade food, fruit, yoghurt etc..||+ Minus the fact they ripped me off at the end, during the stay I felt like part of the family, it was an authentic bahian experience.||+ Very safe area for a lone female traveller, I walked everywhere day and all times of the night and felt fine.
