We stayed at the Academias for three nights in Athens in late August 2025, and it is a fantastic property. Its location is certainly one of its best features--it only took us 25 minutes or so to walk to the Acropolis, you can get to Plaka and Monastiraki within minutes on foot, and the rooftop lounge has a view of the Pantheon and Lycabettus Hill that has to be seen to be believed. The rooms are reasonably spacious for the city, well appointed, and impeccably clean. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always had a quick answer to any question.||One of the things I loved most about this hotel was the lobby atmosphere. I brought my journal and paper to write, and the inspiring quotes from Socrates, the books, and the general upbeat feel of the place is unique and incredibly inviting for those who love to write or just think. Even if this doesn't describe you, you'll find it such a breath of fresh air from the usual.||The gym is not overly large in terms of space, but they had nice, modern, clean equipment and I was able to get a couple of great runs in on the treadmill. The indoor pool was a beautiful touch, and the spa staff were great! The rooftop does get very crowded and busy in the evenings, but it's still worth it to go check it out.||The housekeeping staff was so friendly and always had some unique little touches every night, making it a memorable experience every time we came back from being out in the city.||If we get back to Athens any time soon (and I certainly hope we do), this will be at the top of our list for a repeat stay. It's not the cheapest option, but you absolutely get what you pay for here and it is head and shoulders above most options I've seen in one of the world's great cities.||Wishing everyone well back at the Academias and looking forward to our return!
