Academias Hotel, Autograph Collection

I had an amazing stay at Academia Athens, Autograph Collection! From the moment I arrived, the friendly and welcoming hotel team made me feel right at home. Their professionalism and attention to detail truly elevated my experience. The rooms were impeccably clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay. Every detail was carefully considered, reflecting the hotel's commitment to high standards. The location is perfect—just a short 5-minute walk to Athens' vibrant downtown area and surrounded by luxury shops. Whether you’re exploring the city or indulging in some high-end shopping, everything is conveniently close by. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Athens. It’s the ideal combination of comfort, excellent service, and a prime location.

We came to this hotel after we left the previous one because the room was too small. The Academias has larger rooms, quite spacious, with a coffee machine and a reasonably sized TV. The rooms are clean, with most amenities available in the room in advance (such as vanity kit and slippers). However, the A/C cannot be turned on during what is treated as winter (14•C when we arrived and it is not cold, but beautifully cool). Because of the hot atmosphere, I couldn’t sleep. I asked the front desk if they could help, they brought a fan… wasn’t good enough. The previous hotel had A/C, hence the surprise! It was very disappointing, but not as disappointing as the glass window of the shower! It supposed to be shaded with a click of a button, thus ensuring privacy… however, I could see the person showering and had to leave the room for a little privacy. So, I would not recommend this place if you have a kid with you sleeping in the same room. I was also disappointed with housekeeping. The beds looked like someone was jumping on them before we came, I thought no one cleaned the room, but it appeared later that that’s how they do the beds at the hotel. Overall, with no A/C, it wasn’t a good choice of hotel. They asked if we could open the windows although it’s noisy, but it only opens approximately 10 centimeters… with no wind, nothing changed. I do not recommend this place, there are plenty of brilliant places in Greece.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Academias Hotel for a Marriott Autograph hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful with answering our questions. Even though we're Bonvoy members, we ended up booking through Amex's Fine Hotel + Resorts to take advantage of our Platinum card benefits. ||The hotel location is great, walkable to everything around the city center, specifically the Acropolis, which is about a 25 minute brisk walk. Also super close to all the high-end stores if you're looking to shop. We love to walk when we're in a new city so Academias served as a great basecamp for us. ||We stayed during off-peak season so in general the hotel was quiet and we did not experience any noise. In fact, I commented that I was surprised how quiet it was for the city...only heard the ambulance once or twice and no honking or loud music from the 4th floor.||We didn't have a drink at Plato Lounge, which looked really nice, but we did head to the rooftop NYX bar/restaurant for drinks and dinner. Pricing was typical for an on-property restaurant, food was great, but the view of the Acropolis was the highlight!||Breakfast was included in our rate and was served in the Symposium restaurant. It was fantastic with an abundant continental spread plus a limited cooked to order menu. We enjoyed everything offered and the service was perfect.||If we visit Athens again we will certainly stay here again!

This was a great place to stay. We were able to walk to the Acropolis and other great areas from here. The staff was great. The bar in the lobby was fun. Our room was great. It was clean and quiet. The rooftop bar was great. The service was quick, and the bartender was very nice.

This hotel pays attention to the details. The design is chic and modern, with high end finishes. Diptyque products are offered for the guests. There is a nice spa and pool in the hotel, but rather small and the gym could be bigger. The rooftop restaurant has great views and food. Front desk service was superb and extra perks were granted as Bonvoy members

The hotel itself is very comfortable and the neighborhood is safe to walk around at night. ||Rooms are spacious and clean, including illy coffee makers and free bottled water. ||Breakfast buffet and staff are wonderful. ||My only complaint is with one of the housekeepers. We were in our room with the service room light turned on. The plan was to go downstairs to the lobby bar for a drink when the housekeeper arrived. When she arrived, she opened the door and yelled at us in Greek for being in the room. I tried explaining that we just needed a minute to put on our shoes, but I don’t think she understood. She was furious with us, which I don’t think was an appropriate reaction. Especially when we leave a tip for housekeeping every day.

The staff were incredible, but paying extra for the rooms with a view is not worth the money. The rooftop restaurant played house music starting at 9 pm that shook our whole room until 1 am. Even after asking them to turn it down it was not an environment conducive for sleep. Not worth the money, and unbelievable a place for you to sleep in makes it important for you to sleep

My stay at this hotel was exceptional, thanks largely to the outstanding service at the front desk, especially from Manolo. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with a warm smile and a delicious house drink, which immediately set the tone for a fantastic stay. Manolo was incredibly quick and efficient with check-in, but what really stood out was how he made personal connections and genuinely made me feel right at home. He didn’t just go through the motions—he went above and beyond to ensure I felt important and well taken care of. It’s rare to find such a combination of efficiency and warmth, and it truly made my stay memorable. I can’t recommend this hotel enough, thanks to Manolo
