Exceptional service from front desk to breakfast. I had a great stay at Academias Hotel in Greece. The room was spacious and very clean, and the service was excellent throughout my visit. The front desk staff were especially helpful and welcoming. My only caveat is that the room felt a bit dim—there wasn’t enough lighting—and it could really use more drawers for storage. Breakfast at Symposium was a highlight. Big shout-out to Maria, Antonia, Chrysa, and Bella for their outstanding service—they were warm, attentive, and made mornings feel easy. Also, the chef who made my breakfast sandwich was top notch: you could tell he actually cared about what he was putting out, not the usual run-of-the-mill, rushed breakfast station. Thank you

We had a very enjoyable four-night stay at the Academias Hotel in September 2025. This hotel has a great location and very good staff who do a great job taking care of the guests. We had a positive experience working with the concierge in advance of our stay to organize a transfer from the airport and a wine tasting and sightseeing trip outside of the city with A-Muse and very friendly and knowledgeable guide Spyros.||We very much enjoyed the on-site food and beverage options. The Plato Lounge was a great place for a cocktail or small meal. The rooftop Japanese restaurant boasts great views and excellent food. And most of all we thought the breakfast offering was spectacular with lots of variety, very fresh food, and good service.||Our room was small but comfortable. Housekeeping service was excellent and our room was well attended to throughout our stay. The shower was excellent and bed extremely comfortable.||We would seek out opportunities to return to the Academias Hotel in the future and would highly recommend to anybody visiting Athens.

Although I really did like this hotel with excellent staff, comfortable beds, fancy design, I can only rate it from the worst room which I clearly recieved. #29, no views, barely any sunlight, no tub, no seating, no desk, no luggage tray, the TV was consistently malfunctioning by asking for a reset, and toiletries were not refilled from last occupation. Now I can only assume this is a mandatory accessibility room that had to been gutted and now looks nothing like the hotel photos, but I dont understand how any person that needs this much room-gutting space would access the hotels from the beginning with 2 teired stairs in the lobby or 30cm high crumbling sidewalks outside. Although boasting amazing an restaurant upstairs, the rooms service menu is laughable at best and sadly forced me to leave to find food when feeling under the weather. Being here for business was uncomfortable working in my room and if I was a tourist I would have been upset with the contrast to what the hotels displays online as the normal room.

After a long night-and day of flights-we were welcomed graciously by the reception staff, and offered “fluffy” little tea-based cocktails, in fall colors! We had reserved a king bed, executive room, several months earlier, with the included hotel breakfast. We were very pleased with the room size and design. We did not have the Parthenon view, but had 2 windows that looked out on the neighborhood buildings. There was scaffolding and presumably construction across the street, but all was quiet enough on our weekend visit. As is becoming typical of European hotel rooms, the lighting was dim: energy-savings, imo. We brought our adaptor plugs, which helped for charging multiple devices. We always use the safe. The bath was spacious, with “wet room” with tub and shower. Toiletries and towels easily fit under the open vanity. Marriott provides robes and slippers for guests. Of course, since Athens has an ancient sewer system, toilet paper is never flushed, but put into a separate receptacle next to the toilet.|The included breakfast in the Symposium dining room was perfectly curated and surpassed our expectations. Coffee, of several varieties, including Greek, was offered; I chose drip. A menu was presented; an entree could be selected, in addition to the buffet. The charming hostess even provided me a hand-written recipe for the Greek specialty dish of eggs scrambled with homemade tomato sauce and soft feta cheese- different from the hard crumbles I can buy in USA. The buffet completed the breakfast- fruit, pastries, cold cuts, cheeses.|The restaurant staff worked so well as a team. The hotel staff was professional and friendly. Wonderful Greek hospitality!|The hotel location was an easy 15 minute walk to Monastiraki Square, a local hub for souvenirs, food and drink, as well as the meeting spot for our evening food tour. |Also, check with reception for an evening reservation at the NYX rooftop restaurant, to be described in a separate review, but in a word, excellent.|The Academias Hotel was an inspiring start to our month in the Mediterranean countries, and we look forward to another visit to this lovely Marriott.

We checked into the hotel yesterday and what a fantastic experience we have had already. My husband and I are here for three nights after spending a week in Crete - we are on a holiday without our kids celebrating our wedding anniversary. Upon check in the staff were extremely professional yet very helpful. They acknowledged our anniversary by sending a lovely cheese and meat tray along with a dessert and a bottle of wine! Within minutes of checking in they made us feel so welcomed. Breakfast at the hotel is fantastic. You can order from the menu along with a small but well planned buffet area. The chef is fantastic! Best breakfast experience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️||My stay at this hotel in Athens was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond—always warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. Their recommendations for exploring the city added so much value to my trip, and every interaction felt genuine and welcoming.||The room itself was spotless, with meticulous attention to cleanliness that immediately put me at ease. I stayed in one of the suites, and it was truly luxurious—spacious, elegantly designed, and complete with thoughtful amenities that made it feel like a home away from home.||Dining was another highlight. The rooftop bar and restaurant offered not only delicious food and drinks but also one of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever experienced. Watching the Acropolis light up at night while enjoying a perfectly prepared meal was unforgettable—a true “bucket list” moment.||I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. Whether you’re visiting Athens for the first time or returning, this is the perfect place to stay for comfort, luxury, and world-class hospitality. The only disappointment is that is slightly away from the shopping district.

This hotel is a great option in Athens. It is very well located in Kolonaki and a short walk to everything in Plaka. The rooms are nice (clean, big bathrooms, modern conveniences) and the staff is very nice. But what makes this place so fantastic is its roof bar/restaurant. We only went there for drinks (food is japanese) but the view is spectacular. Expansive view of the Acropolis AND sunset. Also all ope-air. Everyone raves about the roof at the Hotel Bretagne - I went there, this is much much better. You cannot go wrong at this hotel.

Spent two nights here. A quick review:|- Staff: excellent. They helped us, took care of us, service was very good. |- Food: breakfast was excellent. They also made a special chicken for our kids for room service. Amazing. |- Location: five mins walk to the shop, and 10|Mins taxi to the Acropolis. Wish there was more going on |- Room: Super nice. We got the king suite and it was beautiful. Bathroom was amazing and big. Two showers and a bath tub. Sleeps three easily.
