This place is a joke. Almost got turned away bc my shoes didn’t have back straps on them (apparently it’s the policy due to safety). Which is a laughable... Bc once you go in you’re crammed like sardines and there’s no where to move. Which is a bigger safety hazard than no backs! A watered down well drink with double shots was 38 plus dollars. The owners need to take a hard look at themselves before something happens. Is it rlly that hard not to oversell tickets? Be for real. You are the safety hazard and will only have yourself to blame. Avoid this venue. I left early, and felt like I wasted my night, even tho I love the artist I tried to see. If the show is sold out, go at your own safety.

We went there as my partner was playing there and it was fantastic from this point of view! Nice venue with great vibes and zn amazing sound system!

I wouldn't have ever expected it back during the Vanguard or Create years, but Academy is quickly taking over Exchange as my favorite club in LA! The building itself isn't as nice and the bathrooms are crowded, but the updates to production, service, and vibes are unmatched. Really well-balanced sound system that fully envelops you, absolutely beautiful screen and lighting design, plus killer air conditioning that is close enough to actually make a difference. Top that off with a big open dance floor that isn't oversold, great layout with nice bartenders, and a sweet back patio area with seating and lights. My only complaints are the poor value for the money when it comes to drinks (mostly ice), and the parking being a bit steep at $20 when garage reservations near Exchange are only $12. It is convenient to be able to park there though!

Academy was hosting LA Art Battle which was an epic event sponsored by Sharpie. The venue had plenty of outdoor space and the interior had great lighting and lcd panel graphics running the entire length. Super cool atmosphere. Drinks weren’t that impressive and cost nearly $20 for a boring drink that took all of 5 seconds to make. Other than that, it was pretty awesome.

I had to share this review and it’s specifically for the owner so he can make some changes there. I used to go to this place back in the day when it was called Vanguard. It was the hottest club in Hollywood now not so much the last time I was there was last year May the DJ was off the hook. I could’ve had such an amazing more time if their staff didn’t keep pushing us like chickens into the dance floor together when on the sides, there was plenty of space you could barely breathe or dance. It was just so frustrating to be there , when everything could’ve been so great as the vibe was happening, but the staff members treated us like animals there was plenty of space on the dance floor, but they just wanted to compress us into a small circle which was ridiculous. Also u could not even stand by the bar even after buying a drink u were forced into the crowd again. I had never seen anything in my life like that . I will totally not come here again even if the DJ is my favorite. I rather wait for them to come to Avalon because that place has always been amazing and never do such stuff there. You can actually have your space and enjoy your night, but the staff here has been trained to make you feel very uncomfortable , I almost had a panic attack because was so close to everyone all night. It was absurd. I would suggest you don’t do that because you will lose clientele. We did not enjoy our time after paying 100 bucks for tickets with all kind of services fees included, which is absurd too by the way when you’re buying directly from their website .

I’ve lived, traveled and partied all over the world and this is the WORST venue to see any show. If you want to enjoy the artist you’re going to see please save your money and do not go here. You’ll be so irritated it won’t be worth it or enjoyable. Basically, they oversell the floor. But then rope off about 5 feet from the bar and walls that you can’t stand by walk by only if you’re ordering a drink or walking into your VIP section. So imagine minimum a third of this space is roped off where no one can stand. so if you are in GA, you are sardine into a “dance floor “which there’s so many people you won’t be able to move. You are literally asked to back with hundreds of people. You can’t dance or really walk anywhere. You are literally just standing completely still. Like someone threw up and we tried to move out of the way and they kept pushing us to go back onto the dance floor, although there was about 20 feet of space on the other side of the rope with no one there. And this is not a situation where the VIP is roped off. It’s just copious amount of space roped off for no reason. And then the VIP section is behind that. If they didn’t have everything roped off unnecessarily, they would have enough space for people to move freely and dance. Please save your money. I promise you it’s the worst

Academy is a always a good time! The led panels are fun and I like how much outdoor space there is. It would be nice if they had a better sound system outside so the artist could be enjoyed while out there as well.

The terrible “bottle service” and the way they up charge you for bottle service is hilarious. Never come to your table. And when you are ready for more drinks you can only buy a bottle…but only 30 min left in the night. The math is definitely in their favor. And when you tell them about how terrible the experience was, they tell you it’s because it was busy. So you agree you provided terrible service because it was busy, but still want to charge full price. Go somewhere else and spend your money.

This is so close to being 5 stars, because the atmosphere is very cool, and there is a wide range of types of events that happen here, so I do love this place. However, I'm knocking off one star because I believe they oversell tickets, similarly to concerts/festivals, and that really impacts the enjoyment of the crowd. It feels awkward, unsafe, and uncomfortable to dance when we are all sardined together. Moreover, not only was there not room to dance, there wasn't even room to stand comfortably, everyone was just pushing past each other. However, they did blast the AC and it hit some spots really well, so good if you prefer a range of temps (I liked it). As pictured in this video, I attended the Space Yacht 2 Year Anniversary event, last Saturday night. There was house techno on the first floor (seen in the video posted), and hard techno on the second floor. Here are some more details: Pricing: The event was free before 11PM if you RSVP'd ahead of the date. That means you'd have to be lined up and make it to the bouncer before 11PM, no exceptions. Otherwise, the pricing ranged from about $10 early bird to about $35 last call. As for drinks inside, standard Insomniac prices. A well cocktail was about $15-$20, and a specialty cocktail was around $20-$30. They also had a coat check (nice, more clubs need this) and sold Insomniac merch. Parking: There's a huge open air, fenced lot right next to this, which cost $20 for the night. Very convenient. Otherwise, you can try your luck with metered parking, street parking, and other lots on/around Hollywood Blvd. Anyways, love Academy, it has a lot going right. Just hoping that the next events aren't overcrowded, is all.

The bouncers are anti-black. I recently went there for the Todd Terry house music event with a friend (who's white). I'm in late 40s and my friend is in her 50s--just chill, professional "older" women. My friend was wearing a puffy coat because it was cold at night. She barely got searched or patted down, even though you could hide so much in her coat. When my turn came, the bouncer was searching me like I was a criminal. I had l small crossbody purse meant for going out to events like these, with only two small compartments (just big enough for a phone, keys, and wallet). She was opening and searching it with a light, as if there'd be any space to hide anything. At one point, I jokingly asked her, "Does it look like I could hide something in this?" (My purse probably costs more than what she makes over several nights combined. And normally, I wouldn't say stuff like this. But her behavior was vile.) She then asked me to take my keys out of the pocket of the light denim jacket I was wearing and looked over them as if I had some type of weapon on them. I had a pen whose outline you could see in another pocket and she asked to look at it. She finished off her ego trip by patting me down from top to bottom, putting her hands inside my boots. Meanwhile, my friend is standing to the side confused as to why I'm getting searched so heavily. I was the only Black person coming through the line at that point. And everyone else was barely searched. So it was obvious. I'm a house head and old (and fortunate) enough to have danced along to the best house DJs around. I certainly won't be returning to this low-level, mediocre EDM club with terrible acoustics

I used to go to this club when it was Vanguard. Pasquale Rotella, owner of Insomniac, known for raves like Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), Dreamstate, Nocturnal Wonderland, HARD and more, bought the club and revamped the place to make it an immersive electronic music experience. There's just one main room, but it's spacious with a banging sound system and high quality lasers and lights. There are plenty of booths on the sides of the room for private parties and a large outdoor patio with seating in the back. Drinks are typical LA prices (expensive). I was with a private party, got a couple of bottles and the service was decent. Parking is surprisingly free too, which is nearly nonexistent in Hollywood! Check the calendar on the website for upcoming events!

I love EDM, so naturally I find myself at Academy often, especially when my favorite DJs are playing. I'll be honest, I used to feel a little "meh" about this place... but after experiencing nightlife in other states, I've developed a whole new appreciation for Academy. Truly, distance makes the heart grow fonder. One of my favorite things here is the convenience factor. There's a parking lot adjacent to the building that's usually around $20 cash or $22-23 with card. The lot isn't always available, but even when they redirect us, the price stays similar. Parking in LA is usually a nightmare, but Academy is one of the rare places where it's relatively painless. The club is pretty small and it can get pretty crowded as a result. It's especially crowded at the front (of course), but sometimes roomy in the back. Oh and shoutout to the AC. There's a big vent back there that has spiritually healed me more times than I can count. I'll be sweating for my life at the front, then casually drift to the back to stand under my emotional support air vent. It's a whole journey, and I appreciate having that option!! Security and staff have always been chill, and overall the vibes here are consistently good. The drinks are grossly overpriced (as expected at any LA club), but everything else keeps me coming back.

Do not go here if you're a person of color. They will not serve you drinks and they want to capitalize on the Latino culture but not play a single Latin song. Only a certain type of women win... no one else... I'm light skinned and after hearing my group had a hard time getting drinks while I didn't and staff told them to just wait while helping others is shameful.

This past Friday we got tickets for an event. Get in a long line, walk up to security that pats you down like they were TSA agents. I had a vape pen and they wouldn't let me in, told me I had to get it confiscated or put in my car, I Ubered it there. So we left. So I lost out twice, on the Uber ride and the tickets...You suck Academy!!! Weed is legal and it's a damn dance club...chill out!!!

First time and we did VIP seating and the service from the beginning to end was stunning and treated like royalties. We sat upstairs overlooking everyone and the DJ, we got some nightlights and foam lights. The alcohol was alcoholing non stop and they checked in with us frequently and continued to provide great service. Good music and energy!

Ti'moni bibbs was the best security guard I've ever dealt with. She made me feel so safe. I haven't been here in 10 years but just because of her I will come here every weekend. She should be supervisor or get a raise. 10 out of 10 stars would recommend because of her. Rick was the best bartender ever had he should be the manager at this point because he really took care of me and made me feel safe and secure 1010 so Rick deserves a raising promotion

Wtf lol I clearly wrote a review for this in 2023 and now it's no longer here. So either the business deleted it or Yelp deleted it lol. So I'll repost my review that got deleted. This nightclub is adequate, there is a lot of space to dance and vibe to the music. However, the limit on just EDM music and no other genres playing is lame. Also, of course drinks are extremely overpriced but that's expected for nightclubs.

I was so excited for Jai Wolf tonight, but the experience honestly fell flat because of the sound system. It was way too packed, and most importantly, the audio was horrible -- you could barely hear anything. This is a top-tier artist, and the fact that the sound was so muffled and low completely ruined the vibe. Everyone around us was saying the same thing -- literally every person in our section complained about the sound. I ended up leaving halfway through the set because it just wasn't enjoyable. The only good part was the crowd itself. The people had great energy and made the vibes way better than the venue did. I just wish the sound quality had matched the level of the artist. Super disappointing overall.

I was there for the DJ Imanbek show and the energy was great. The visuals and sound were on point, the crowd was fun and the whole place had that big room vibe you want for a night like this. It does get packed fast and moving around isn't the easiest, but overall it was a solid night and definitely worth checking out.

i've been here plenty of times for different events. It's very spacious. I love the outdoor patio, great music and DJs. It's a spot I recommend! last night I was there for an event and one of my friends was a little intoxicated and security didn't allow him to leave the venue until he found me or someone else he can leave with I don't know if this is an Academy rule or this particular security guard just decided this, but I thank you so much I can't remember your name, but I appreciate this.

I had my daughter's 21st bday here. The club is a lot of fun the Dj was really good. It had all the vibes. Good crowd mostly Asian and hot hot girls, no problems or issues with crowd, everyone there is nice. has a beautiful outdoor area. Easy to use restrooms. The manager or promoter Michael was on point, very communicative, I canceled our table at Warwick to come here because of his quick responsiveness to questions. But Our waitress was a blond girl mostly non existence. Will come back the lights are incredible the screens make the night. Def recommend.

It was 50 dollars to get into this club which is a ridiculous amount of money to pay for any kind of club, and the drinks price even worse 25-30 per drink INSANE. The dj was playing bland beats and the audience was not moving an inch! I stayed because again I spent 50 DOLLARS on this, I was hoping they were gonna start playing better music but I was completely disappointed. The only good thing about this place was the venue. Overall NOT WORTH IT! Go anywhere else :/

The drinks and service are top notch here. All the bartenders are super polite and sweet. I have never had a bad experience at this venue, and all of the security guards are also courteous despite the usual crowded chaos. I love the ambiance here because they have screens on the ceilings, and it adds an extra dimension to the entire audio-visual experience. I've met great people here and I always enjoy coming back.

I love that they keep this club cold inside. The patio is a huge plus to chill out. The bartenders outside are always so nice and helpful, especially Rick. We've seen him multiple times and he's been nothing but hospitable and making us feel welcome. Jose helped us too and was great as well. Check out Academy if there's an artist you'd like to see and you won't be disappointed.

Mitzi was an absolute angel she went above and beyond today in service to us! I've honestly never felt safer at a club about my drinks and just overall making sure we were okay as women.

Edm review: Coming in was easy, security was chill and the tickets were just scanned. Bathrooms were always free and the attendant did a really good job keeping it clean. There's an emptier outside area to wait for ppl and a large space inside for the floor. Parking lot beside is $20. The attendants guide u into a spot and the parking lot for tailgate is friendly. I do agree with the dollar signs of the club as it is on the pricier side (16-$20 for a drink). There's a lot of space for a warehouse club and lines on the side to easily go in and out, you're able to get to the front pretty easily. The air flow was good, I felt a little hot but not sweaty. I didn't see any confetti but they do have the misters. My favorite part was the visuals projected on the ceiling, it made the sets so pretty. We left a bit early so not sure how the exiting was but it goes well beyond 2am.

It's always a great time at Academy. Awesome vibes beautiful people and the staff is amazing always accommodating.

What I liked about the place is that they had a good amount of room with different areas that people can gravitate towards. Usually bathrooms at venues are tough to get into but this venue has two different areas for bathrooms! One by the entrance and one by this grass field outside in the back. They had this outside area and at the beginning of the entrance too. They had three bars: one at the entrance, where the DJ plays past the entrance and one where the grass area is if you need to chill out or like I said use the bathroom. What I also liked was the parking structure next to them which is pretty pricey at $20 per spot but it's gated and literally right next to the venue. Another aspect about the place is that most venues usually are hot but the whole night they had nice cool AC blasting. To end off, I mainly took videos of the place but it was nice!, I would come back again. :)

As far as EDM clubs go in LA, Academy is solid. They've been hosting great lineups lately with Insomniac's Night Trip events and in the summer they hold Day Trip on the patio. Dress code is more casual but that might just be the nature of clubs these days. I've seen plenty of girls in shorts and jeans and it's more rare to see club dresses in here. I highly suggest buying your ticket online ahead of time and arriving before 11pm. The line gets long but they keep it moving pretty quickly, and the check-in/security process is smooth. Once inside, you'll see elevated bottle service tables on either side of the dance floor and a table on each side of the DJ booth. The dance floor gets extremely crowded and they have roped off walking paths on each side but it feels impossible to get to the front so I just stay toward the back. The bars are card only, no cash accepted. The coolest thing about this club is the LED ceiling which gives a really fun vibe. All in all, the vibes are good here and I always enjoy myself. Don't wear any shoes you love because everything becomes very sticky and multiple drinks were spilled on or near our shoes. I also appreciate that it closes at 3am.

I haven't been to Academy in YEEEEARS! It's way different from what I remember. I have to say, usually clubs are a 2 because of TOO many factors. But I was a little surprised by my experience. Showed up around 11P... it was so easy to get in. The security was very nice and there wasn't much of a line. Dress code is very lax, which is always a plus. The visuals are really cool and drinks are average price. I was very surprised that when I had to use the bathroom, the ladies had no line! They have all the VIP tables on the side while everyone else is sectioned right down the middle. That's what I don't like. The layout: There's not much space width-wise so you either have to fight to the front, packed like sardines, or you'll be stuck all the way in the back. I was towards the back and I was constantly getting shoved by people trying to get up front. There's just no escaping it. I thought the sound system was just okay as well. I don't think it's set up so you get the same experience everywhere. Overall, the venue is pretty standard--- without the mean security and long lines.

Came here for Afrojack over the weekend and he was amazing! The event was sold out! Diverse crowd. Came around 10:30pm and the line was pretty short and empty-ish. The club opens from 10pm to 3am. Headliners perform around 12:30-2pm. There's parking next to the club ranging from $10-25. The cocktails were on the expensive end around $20 each, but the bartenders were really good! Definitely had a blast here! It was really cold inside, I'll recommend bringing a light jacket.

Really cool venue in general. I've been here a couple times on different occasions and each time I've come it's pretty cool ambience since it's set to different themes. There are two bars, one inside and one outsides They have an awesome outdoor space that I much rather prefer because the speakers inside are so intense the music sometimes rattles my brain if I'm inside for to long. The parking garage is right next door, and fluctuates with price but very clutch to have it so close

Litty titty night club with well-made, fair-priced alcoholic drinks especially in the city of Los Angeles, CA. Really like this place because it's such a big venue and there's a huge patio in the back for people who want to smoke or just chill until the main event arrives. The Hola Mother F*ckers were really strong, tasted really good, and I would probably get them again if and when I come back here. The damage was only $20 each, not so bad when compared to other club prices, haha.

This is now The Patio at Academy, and they serve lunch and dinner on the patio among 2 large screens and a bumpin' dj! Of course, due to covid, they have to pivot in order to stay afloat, which I di think is creative! My friends and I booked a table for 4 for a Sunday evening on OpenTable. Before entering the alley (that leads to the patio), out temperatures were checked by a security guard. The hostess was not wearing a mask (which I would like if they did), but all the servers were wearing masks and face shields. Upon walking in, we liked the atmosphere of loud bass music and flashing lights -- really made us miss clubbing! Since it is loud, it is a little hard to have a conversation, so don't expect to do that. But do expect to be dancing in your seta throughout the night. Dinner menu was simple and straightforward: burgers, fries, chicken tenders (food you would get at an event haha), some apps and drinks. I thought it's cute that they named their drinks after Insomniac Events! Lol But don't expect anything crazy, they taste like your standard club drinks. Prices were okay, and I understand you're there for the vibe. Service was good, though. Apparently, you can book a cabana for $500 (eek) for a table of 6. They are only doing max of 6 per party, FYI, to keep things limited and socially distanced. Overall, was a fun night. I would recommend this for a birthday, or some kind of celebration night!

I'm not sure if I just went on a good night or what, but I had a great time. $20 cash parking next door with plenty of parking attendants and well lit. $9 beers, $14-$18 well drinks... Security guards were respectful and nice. The only person with a slight attitude was this one chick that was bartending in the main room... she told me where the patio was but had a little snooty of an attitude as if I was bothering her. Dress code: people were wearing heals, ummmm I would personally not wear heals unless you want excruciating pain / to not dance your heart out. A cute casual outfit idea for women who want to dance: comfortable pair of shoes (nice newish vans, Dr martins, Hokas etc), stretchy comfortable black 4" lululemon shorts, fresh black tee, dress it up with an oversized button down dress shirt unbuttoned, put some cute graphic liner or jewels on your face, and boom you just got into the club with comfortable but stylish af causal athleisure. Thank me later when you're dancing all night comfortably.

I went here to see Madeon, I bought VIP tickets ! it was such a wonderful experience, two words to describe every staff member that night, totally amazing ! From the moment i stepped in till when I stepped out at the end of the show! I went to the restroom before I left and a kind lady was handing out the hand towels and telling everyone to have a great night. It was pretty crowded but that's to be expected ! The only thing that almost ruined my night were the people moving me and pushing me from my spot, but that is also to be expected and I held my ground haha. My photos are from being right at the front, I was there for about 4-5 hours, no regrets !! Fantastic place and fantastic show.

I came here to see DJ Mitus, and the venue was smaller than expected. The area for dancing was quite crowded. People were right next to each other, touching basically. There was an outdoor patio that was nice for a breather. It was very open and spacious on the outdoor patio. There's a lot of tables available in Academy. Overall, my experience here was okay, and that is probably because of the people. The dancing area was crowded and a girl close to me started puking, which was the most horrid place to puke in. A lot of shoving and people in the way at times. The cool part was when fog was sprayed; that felt nice and cool.

What better way to start off a new year on Yelp than with a New Year review? For my first real clubbing experience, Academy LA gave me a really good experience. There's decent air conditioning, good vibes, and a nice big dance floor. I came in to see Oliver Heldens on New Year's with just a GA pass, so the experience might vary on different nights. This review is just based off of my experience on New Year's. There's a parking lot directly next to the club for $20, or if you turn the corner to go behind and then to the left of the nightclub, then there's a cheaper parking lot for $10. It was only one block away so we went with the cheaper option. We got there at 10 pm and there was literally no line getting in. When we got inside, there were barely any people in the middle, so it was really easy for us to get to the front. I think the crowd started to pick up once it got closer to 11 pm. By midnight the entire front of the dance floor was packed and it was getting a little hard to move. There's a lot more space towards the back of the dance floor but of course it's always more densely packed towards the front. The people we were dancing around were really nice and gave off really good and friendly vibes. Of course though, there are always some jerks that will be aggressively pushing anyone around them. We got a couple of those bumping into us. And towards the end of the night the floor started getting really sticky from the spilled beer. We got a whiskey sour for $14, which of course is a lot for a drink but our bartender filled up our cup with like 2/3 whiskey so we still got a good buzz out of it, even split between two people. If you want water you can get it on tap for free at the bar in the back. Dress code is pretty lenient compared to other places I've heard. I've seen people with the typical clubbing outfit/dresses, and then there are others with a simple t shirt and jeans. But no matter what you wear, PLEASE wear deodorant before you come here! I kept getting a whiff of some armpit stink throughout the night. I also kept a really small purse with me and since I'm always super paranoid about pickpocketers I tried to hide it a little bit by strapping it crossbody underneath my outerwear and then rolling up my sleeves when it gets too hot. There was a line for both the women's and the men's bathroom, but they move pretty quickly. There were a lot of stalls in the women's bathroom and they were kept pretty cleanly in the couple times that I've been there throughout the night. Visual effects were fun, there are LED screens across the entire front, ceiling, and sides of the venue, along with strobe lights and smoke cannons. It can get pretty bright in here so I don't know maybe bring sunglasses? It might also be a good idea to bring earplugs because especially at the front the bass gets LOUD. Once I left I could only hear muffled noises for a few hours after. I had a really good time here. I feel that if you plan your trip and prepare yourself a bit, and go with the right people, everything should go smoothly. If another DJ I really like it headlining here again, I'll definitely be coming back.

This club is a big hit or miss. Music was house style when I went with a group of my friends, and it wasn't my type of music, but I don't hold that against them. The one big thing though is that cover is very high for a 21+ club, at over $20 even if you are on the guest list and come before 11pm. They say it's $40 after, so you're really not saving money by being on guest list vs paying the tickets in advance. It's a big shock considering that most clubs are usually free cover before 11 and you pay a hefty cover thereafter. Also, the crowd control people are extremely rude. They literally did a measuring tape thing and told us to move a few inches even though there was a large spacious opening for people to walk up and down. Another occasion was we were just turning around for a second and then the crowd control people are yelling at us, like please, it's just a second, patience. Now onto the positive (otherwise this would go lost as a 1 star review). Amenities, on the other hand, were amazing. In the men's bathroom, they had someone to hand you towels as you wash your hands. There were candy and mints on one plate, a tip plate (wow they must trust people well!), and a very wide selection of perfume and cologne to freshen up. Besides, the restroom is really spacious and clean. The dance floor is above average size, and the lighting definitely is on another level compared to the clubs with free cover. There is a set schedule of when each DJ is performing, so you get a sense on when you expect what music. All in all, if it weren't for the steep cover and the guards working there, I definitely would come back, but as a college student, the best option would still be Arena.

Aggressive (Mike) and mean bouncers who don't know how to properly search and de-escalate situations. I felt extremely uncomfortable when asked to stand aside, and then he turns back around after letting a few people in to yell at me that I wasn't standing exactly where he wanted me. So embarrassing. They also were idiots and don't know how to properly search you. Go anywhere else. I won't be back at Academy.

Came here last week with a big group, table and bottle service was ordered so based on the line for entrance (for bottle service) it was short and quick! The workers were friendly and treated us efficiently. We were seated next to the dj booth (best seat in the house for sure!) and ordered the "el jefe" 1942 Don Julio, p.s. watch out when trying to chug that thing unless you do it often LOL. The bottle service girl was beautiful and efficient, serving us drinks and shots in a timely manner. I enjoyed the LED screens on the celling, and it was an overall fun vibe. I felt like the bathrooms reminded me of middle school lol but they were clean at least.

If you are into EDM music this is def the new restaurant for you! After the pandemic this place transformed from a club to an outdoor restaurant with EDM music and it was a fantastic idea! You can have some drinks/ food and enjoy your favorite music with your friends. The food is definitely overpriced and not very good so I do wish they would have better food. The drinks are ovenpriced we well but I'll give them the benefit or the doubt that they are super cute and rave themed! I ordered the edc drink and it was super cute! They have many drinks to chose from. They also have a live dj which made the experience so much fun. There is a limit of time you can be here for which is unfortunate but understandable due to high demand. Will def come back.

Academy LA is just a reboot of Create Nightclub that was bought out by Pasquale Rotella. There's a big giant A on the exterior of the club as their brand and the interior ALMOST looks the same except the LED screens on the ceiling, sides of the walls, all throughout the club give you massive Tomorrowland trance stage vibes. TICKETS / GUEST LIST I highly recommend buying tickets for the club unless you like subjecting yourself to guest list and being there SIGNIFICANTLY EARLIER THAN 11 (it's not arrive by 11, you have to be inside the club before 11). There are several promoters out there willing to give you a promo code to reduce the cost of your ticket, but if it's just a group of ladies it might just be worth it to get on guest list or ask for a comped table. PARKING The club itself has its own parking lot but I like to park just a little bit further down at the public parking lot at the intersection so that I don't have to deal with the traffic of everyone leaving once the club is closed. Depending on the night, the lot can cost $10-20 since it is also a shared lot with The Fonda Theater. DRINKS Drinks aren't extremely cheap here but they aren't very expensive. They do serve Fiji water bottles here for $7 each if you're trying to stay sober. DJ RESIDENCY Overall, there are a lot of great, talented artists that perform here since it is part of Insomniac. The most recent experience we had was with my favorite DJ, Audien, and despite it being NYE Weekend, we easily made it to the front and had ample space throughout the night. CLUB FEATURES There is a second floor to this club that overlooks the stage and dance floor. Since the renovation, the tables above are on the railing so if you're up there and don't have a table then you won't have the best view but it will still be a lot less packed. Note that there is also a bathroom up here and a bar from what I can remember. There is also now a much larger outdoor patio which they use for their dayclubs. Overall, the renovation was very well done and I was very impressed. BATHROOMS There are 3 bathrooms in the club: one in the very back of the club, one at the outdoor patio, and one upstairs. Choose wisely! -- Overall, I loved my experience here and am glad that it was renovated to Academy LA. I definitely plan to come back here for another show. (3/100 -- 2019)

Not sure why this is rated so low but this place was really fun! We got two cabanas on Sunday for brunch. We got three bottles of tequila and each bottle comes with a platter. Platter came with chicken, calamari, and tater tots, and curly fries. The staff were very attentive. The bouncer was very kind to my sister, she wasn't feeling well, so he was giving her water and pistachios outside. Very fun environment, definitely rent the cabana, for two cabana we paid $1400 including tip and gratuity. Will definitely be back, actually cannot wait to be back!

ACADEMY NIGHT CLUB IN HOLLYWOOD This place will keep you dancing threw the night non stop no breaks in between . This place is crazy fun security is great JAY JAY was the last security bouncer I met working there two years ago before the COVID 19 out break I hope he is still there when I start going again The place has a smoking section also has easy to find restrooms too say hello to MELROSE the boss if you run into him . Grab a beer enjoy watching people dance , check out the live entertainment on stage , take pictures , lots to do , lots to gossip about the next day

Love it here. Staff is always nice, and fun. The club can get extremely crowded, but I love it lol. Bouncers can be kind of harsh but I guess it's part of the job

Had a blast at Day Trip! Everyone I met was super chill and looked out for each other! Forgot places like this existed. I'm out of town but will 100% be coming back. Thank you Fidel and friends for making sure me and my friend were making it home safe at the end of the night . 10/10 would recommend

Been to this club many times when it was Create. Still dark, still crowded, still has a cool patio in the back. I enjoy seeing changes to club when a new one arrises from an already existing club. From what I understand Insomniac and Exchange partnered up to open Academy LA. Some things inside were moved around to allow more people but what is amazing is their LED screen. Forgetting the technical light shows, Academy LA has a set up I've never seen in a club were the display behind the DJ curves and extends over the crowd's heads. Not only do you want to watch the DJ put in their dirty work to bring out the good vibes, but I must say that it is hard not to look straight up at times. Parking: There are multiple lots in the surrounding area. No street parking available during clubbing hours. VERDICT: Rinse and repeat

We came here to see LiL Texas. The venue was packed, the outdoor area is really nice, and the sound was good. The staff was friendly, the bathroom line was insane (per usual) and it was a fast easy entrance. Why 3 stars? The drink prices. I ordered the exact same drink at both bars (double shot of vodka -not top shelf just generic, with soda and a lime). Somehow the price was different at both bars. $30 at one and $35 at the other, which really is insane that it costs that much to begin with. I paid $24 for the same drink at EDC Vegas (and it came with a souvenir cup). Yes I would come back again if a Dj I really want to see is playing there (btw thank you for booking lil texas, I know hardcore is not as popular so I do appreciate it). But I would stick to beer which was normal price $7.

This venue is very well ventilated and the AC is actually blasting inside which is great! BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THE STAFF HERE ARE SO KIND!!! I've never been treated with this much care at any club/event by any type of staff at these types of venues. I wanted to write this review to give a shoutout to the amazing staff for helping me calm down when I was having a panic attack the other night. They were very warm and kind towards me and made sure my friends and I were treated with the utmost respect. Thank you specifically to the kind and attentive security guard on Friday night who escorted me to the med tent, as well as to the awesome manager (I think he mentioned his name was Rockson-- I apologize if I totally butchered that ) and to the wonderful med tent employee, Isaac, for both staying with me for a very long time to make sure I was feeling better. You guys all made sure I felt safe after the incident and I cannot express my gratitude enough-- thank you!!!

What are you looking for in a night at the Club other than a good time an awesome sounding mix played over a killer PA and a radical light show that's putting other places in LA to shame with what they have going on here! Coming here I wasn't sure what to expect but what we found was an awesome new club as last night was grand opening of the club with Krewella playing their songs for everyone to dance and sing to! The venue is pretty much a huge room with a stage right in the middle and a bar along the backside with a good size outdoor patio that's backstage so there's plenty of room to find your way about. The sound was awesome as well as perfect but the light show here is really where it's at as they have some on both walls as well as a huge display on the ceiling with numerous lights flashing about as everyone dances to the beat of the music. The venue had a decent sized line out front when we walked up but that went away quickly as we made our way inside I really liked how dark it was here until one of the headliners came on and the whole room for crazy with lights and more music creating a super fun vibe! Overall there isn't a ton of things to say we came here we danced we lived it all for the night and everything turned out to be just that much more right. With that said who knows when I'll get back here but it's definitely worth the time as the club it self was a lotta fun just check online a few days before it might save you some money

I came to this pace for the first time to see Henry Fong last week. Having no prior information about the space, my friends and I were in for a real treat! Before Henry Fong came on, we didn't get much of the lighting special effects that blew my mind, but definitely was worth the way for when Henry came on. The ceiling is decked out with LED lights that help project different imagery, everything from clouds to Henry's portrait. My only real dissatisfaction was the drinks. What we wanted to order for the night was $18 for a single and $34 for a double shot. I think this is only because Grey Goose was the only vodka that was offered. I personally think it's too much! Perhaps this is a way to offset the sometimes low-priced or free entrance? Parking is easy, there are 2 lots close by, and it's $20 to park in the lots. There might be other options close by, but this parking lot is well lit, there are tons of attendants, and is very spacious. I would come back to this space, just don't know that I would go for the alcohol again.

Went to see Phase 1, pickpocketers everywhere. Caught one trying to steal my glasses but I managed to grab them and shake them till they dropped it. Security was indiscriminately kicking people out for moshing but then letting others mosh. Killed the vibe. Vip looked sad, nothing really creating an exclusive vibe about the place. The security didn't let us get our coats on in the lobby and forced us out into pouring rain. Also not a lot of lasers, not much to look at during shows even when they have ceiling screens. Beware of pickpocketers, I didn't even tell them off b/c I had a feeling the security would try to kick me out for the confrontation(all the while letting pickpocketers run around and sneak to the vip area).
