How to Have the Perfect Winter Vacation in Maine's Acadia National Park

"Located in the heart of Bar Harbor and a five-minute drive from Acadia National Park, this property is open year-round with plenty of room options to fit guest needs. Back in 1880, long before Acadia Hotel opened its doors, the property was home to a local ship captain." - Travel + Leisure Editors

The hospitality here was exceptional. Attention to detail. There was an inviting feel different than most hotel experiences. The nice woman at the front desk gave us a tour and showed us to our room! Any time we entered the lobby they asked if we were enjoying our stay. Complimentary coffee, tea, at all hours, and made to order omelets in the morning just gave it an extra touch. Highly recommend!

Our check-in experience was delightful! Jodi made sure that our rooms were ready when we arrived and checked to make sure we had everything we needed. ||Bernard made us delicious omelets full of fresh veggies and protein every morning. ||Everyone else we encountered was also pleasant, welcoming. ||As an unexpected added bonus I had the misfortune of having my tire pressure light come on. While stopped at a local gas station I happened to ask a gentleman named Bobby and asked him for help. He jumped right in and helped me! Turns out he is also an employee of the hotel group!||A++ experience in every way!!

This is a cozy small hotel with excellent sound proofing in the rooms. Despite being right downtown, my wife and I heard almost none of the hustle and bustle outside. Annie’s delicious made to order breakfast omelets are neatly prepared works of art! The staff is also helpful and friendly. This is our third visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Previously, we stayed farther away, due to the cost. However, it’s worth it to have walkable access to all the shops and restaurants down town. Take the plunge and stay downtown. We will come back to the Acadia Hotel!

I love this place. Perfect location. We came for our honeymoon and it became our home for the week. Nice touches like cold water, popcorn, gear for hiking, constant hot coffee which my husband loved. Wish the room had a bigger bathroom/a tub, and normal sized king pillows for the king bed but we got used to it!! During the day Nick was our guy. Always happy to see us and helpful with any questions we had. At night Miss Jodi was THE BEST!!! Smiling and cheery always, so sweet, a joy to be around…I miss her already. We are already planning a trip back in October.

My husband and I enjoyed our long weekend staying at Acadia Hotel. It was the perfect, quaint spot to be one street over from everything in Bar Harbor and close to loop road Acadia National Park. Our room felt like home. Island Trolley stop was across the street. My husband loved the made to order omelette each morning. We both enjoyed the hot tub each evening after enjoying hikes in the park.

A lovely inn! We were greeted with a glass of bubbly and a warm smile. The room was spotless and well appointed. Breakfast was delicious, with an omelet station! Beautiful bar with great service. The location in the heart of Bar Harbor was ideal - we walked everywhere, except to Acadia NP. Highly recommend!!

Google
A wonderful place to stay! Felt right at home and Jodie helped us with everything. I will be recommending this hotel to all my friends and highly suggest you choose here to stay. Great location, clean rooms, and a ton of amenities. It even had a cute bar with delicious drinks, open patio with a view of village green, and a super friendly bartender. Thank you so much!

Google
This is the nicest most helpful staff at a hotel that I have dealt with. The hotel is located right across from the village common/green where the national park buses are located-so it is super convenient. There are dozens of restaurants & shops within a short walking distance. The rooms are clean, neat, & tidy with daily housekeeping. There are multiple amenities-sparkling wine on check-in, hiking equipment to borrow if needed, a popcorn machine, extensive coffee bar, and more-all with very reasonably priced rooms.

Yelp
We had the most beautiful valentines weekend at Acadia hotel. The attention to detail and costumer servers was phenomenal. They had snow spikes and other gear we were able to borrow for our hikes which saved us so much money. Everything was perfect here

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE The hotel is old, dated, dirty, damp. Their pictures only show what they want you to see. Carpet throughout is filthy. The carpet in our room was always damp and disgusting to walk on. Sheets and towels were stained. Sheets are the cheapest quality. Pillows are old flat and hard. We had nobody clean our room the first morning and had to go ask for new towels. The second morning housekeeping came but they didn't not clean up the leak from an old crinkled up refillable bottle of hand soap used by countless guests. There was a pile of wet dirty towels outside our room on a chair in the hall. Completely unsanitary. There is a drink station in the lobby for coffee etc. I picked up a wine glass that had old lipstick on it. One morning after housekeeping had already come, a hotel employee walked into our room while we were there without knocking.

Yelp
Fresh off the car after a long but fun 4-hour drive from Georgetown, MA, we felt relieved arriving here. Acadia Hotel seemed like the best of the bunch (to me) in Bar Harbor. This hotel offers simple accommodations, free WiFi, parking on site, light complimentary breakfast, bikes, etc. But the emphasis is definitely on the downtown Bar Harbor location and how close this hotel is to many shops and other businesses. Enter from the main Mt. Desert St. entrance or from the back by the parking lot. These folks almost (key word- almost) thought of everything because signs are clearly labeled. For instance, if you park out back, signs will lead you to the Lobby, Elevator, etc. Lighting in our room was glowy even in the evening and bed was comfortable. Our getaway was peaceful, front desk ladies were all super pleasant, beds are done in crisp white sheets. And even if the cool weather didn't let out, we took advantage of our balcony facing Bar Harbor's Village Green. Our stay was affordable. But my major concerns where the slow (clogging) water flow in our bathroom sink, the odd yellow discoloration on the toilet cover lid (didn't bring up these 2 issues with management as we didn't want anyone in our room- so wrapped a towel over it), the bathroom curtain wasn't ironed and the ill-sounding HVAC system was annoying. Thank goodness we could regulate it ourselves. Affordable or not, expensive or not- issues like these can't and shouldn't happen anywhere. There are several pluses and minuses here- but I want to feel comfortable in my 'home' away from home in every sense of the word. But decided to cut our stay short. I know it takes a lot of moving pieces to maintain a hotel- but damn- wouldn't you want your hotel to run like a well-oiled machine so patrons are satisfied?

Yelp
This hotel has the best location in Bar Harbor! You can walk everywhere from here! Nice clean room with great AC and water pressure!

Yelp
It may have been the 4 previous days of camping and excessive rain but Acadia Hotel was amazing. We stayed here our last night on vacation as a treat before flying out and I regret nothing. The staff was very nice and accommodating. They even let us in an hour early with check-in once the room was cleaned. Acadia Hotel has a lot of amenities from coffee and lemonade in the foyer to bfast included which also included a hot omelet and you pick the toppings! They have 2 hot tubs outside and off street parking. We used their bikes to venture to part of the carriage road(make sure you inflate your wheels!). We also borrowed an umbrella to walk to dinner and they even have some really nice equipment to borrow for the day in Acadia ( Hydroflask backpack coolers, hiking poles and such). The room was clean and the King bed was comfy. Didn't use the porch area due to rain but was a nice touch as well. I would def recommend this place to future visitors of Bar Harbor and Acadia. Thanks for the stay!

Yelp
Our family of four stayed 3 nights in the Sargent Mountain Suite. Plenty of space for us but the room had a musty smell so we left the windows open most of the time. The breakfast was good...omelets, fruit, oatmeal, bagels, muffins. Having 24 hour access to tea, coffee, and ice water in the lobby was nice too. The gym, although small, was perfect for a rainy afternoon. Plenty there if you know what your doing. Staff was pleasant. Great downtown location too. Kids wanted a pool and more breakfast choices but no regrets staying there.

Yelp
Stayed here in June, '21--super time, happy staff, omelettes come with the room, you pick up the breakfast downstairs. Bikes were free--such a great time and so helpful. I think they even had free lemonade in the lobby, ice-cold was my recollection. Comfortable big room. I loved the place and the location was in the middle of town close to everything, including the shuttle buses to the National Park. Highly Recommend.

Yelp
This old lady has had a nice facelift and it shows. Fresh paint and updated features made our two day stay comfortable. The two problems we encountered during our stay was a non-functioning television and terrible in- room coffee. I Just can't understand why these hotels such pathetic in-room coffee...is it the cost? We do have a very special shout out to Gerald who went over and above his duty to find us a functioning television and then a functioning remote control. Thank you Gerald!

Yelp
Had an awesome stay here in room 10. Loved: The private entrance to our room The boxed breakfast every morning The jacuzzi The comfy beds and clean linens The fluffy towels The size of the room and bathroom (spacious) The service (the two ladies who I met who worked the front desk were awesome) The cleanliness Easy parking Lots of amenities: bikes, etc. Location**** this I cannot stress enough, absolutely PRIME location to all the restaurants and shops in Bar Harbor and also 5 mins to the national park Can't say enough good things about this place. Would 100% recommend to friends and stay again!

Yelp
We booked the Acadia Hotel for two nights in September as part of a multi week vacation in several locations on the coast of Maine. Seems that Mother Nature had other plans because our check-in day was the day of Hurricane Lee. Once the forecasters were fairly certain and hurricane and tropical storm warnings were going up I called to cancel the reservation. I understand their policy on reservations and refunds but it wasn't like we simply changed our mind about going. We obviously could not drive to the location the day we were scheduled to do so. The governor of Maine had also declared a state of emergency. Tried calling the hotel several times and left a message on voicemail. No one every returned my call. Eventually I got a woman who laughed when I tried to cancel and said no refund. Tried to explain the situation but she didn't care. Told her I could just dispute it with my credit card and she hung up on me. I tried calling repeatedly before I called credit card company. Ended up filing a complaint with Better Business Bureau. Arcadia Hotel never responded to this either. If that's the kind of service that is the norm I'm grateful we didn't stay there. We were able to visit Bar Harbor for a day after the storm. Rode by Acadia Hotel and the pictures on their website don't accurately depict this dump of a hotel. So, thank you Mother Nature for saving us from a bad experience!

Yelp
Location location location! Exceptional hospitality! For example, our room (Cadillac Mountain Suite) was a little warm upon checking in and we let the front desk know. The Acadia Hotel made AC adjustments immediately and then the next day (on a Sunday morning) we saw the owner Peter hustling toward the Acadia Hotel and he met us outside with a smile and a fuse in his hand to permanently fix the AC. Housekeeping was flawless and we were so grateful for all of the spoiling. The Acadia lobby had games, refreshments, local books, maps, hiking gear, and cold brew coffee. Additionally, continental and made to order omelets were available from 7-10 in the morning. The linens were excellent quality. There are cozy areas around the property with gas heaters as well as quality bikes available for use. The Acadia hotel made us feel so welcomed and at home. We decided to checkout at 0100 to start our drive and miss NY traffic on the way to Florida. We pulled our vehicle under the covered area connecting the lobby and the Captain's house to load our luggage while it was raining and a friendly Acadia Hotel voice came out and asked if we would like to check out and wished us safe travels. Just another example of the hospitality of the Acadia Hotel.

Julie Q.

Yelp
Clean, quaint, updated hotel. Comfy beds, new sheets+pillows, fluffy white towels, updated lighting+decor. The location is amazing-beautiful view of Acadia Park thru sun splashed windows. Free breakfast but coffee shop is 2 minute walk away (for lattes etc). From its central location, strolling around town or taking the short drive into the park is easy. The hotel provides free hiking poles, water bottles, board games, bikes, hot tub and so many books. The staff is responsive+pleasant. On the off season, it a quiet, lovely place to get work done.

Yelp
Great location. Super hospitable and knowledgeable staff Rooms are cozy and clean. Walking distance to all restaurants and a activities.

Yelp
Beautiful and cozy hotel with fabulous staff! We visited last spring and had reservations for one night, immediately we realized we wanted to stay longer since the room/hotel was so cozy and the town so cute. They happily accommodated us and we had a wonderful experience. Lots of helpful recommendations and complimentary tea/coffee which we took advantage of after a chilly wander around town. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and loved it. Great location in the center of town and a short drive to the park. Rooms were clean and cozy. They had staff recommendations for activities and restaurants hanging on the wall which was easy to view. Also, some pastries, fruit and cereal is in the lobby for breakfast.

Theologia K.

Yelp
Great stay. Perfect location with good size room and shared balcony and porch access. Free parking on premises. What I appreciated the most was that we stayed during COVID times and the staff did not use this as an excuse to not provide the included breakfast. Instead they provided boxed breakfast which was considerate of their guests. There is coffee and tea available 24/7. Although we didn't use the bikes, they are available to use as you please with an honor policy. There were also umbrellas and various hiking accessories available to the guests at no added cost. The only downside is that our room had poor WiFi connection (room 6) which became frustrating at times, particularly when trying to plan hikes on an island that is basically a dead zone for carrier based internet.

Yelp
The Acadia Hotel is a great value. What made our experience so great, was the friendly and knowledgeable staff. We stayed in the older part of the hotel (in room 8) and while very clean, it could use a few updates - particularly in the bathroom. Changing out a few finishes would update it a bit. The place of the toilet paper holder was odd. It was a long reach from the toilet to the opposite corner of the bathroom. The bathroom is super small. The rooms are super small. We used the closet and the drawers and managed to fit our suitcases in the closet - we could have also put them under our bed, but there's not a lot of room for anything else. Bed was comfortable for us and the linens were soft. The towels were a bit scratchy. They had a very small breakfast every morning - coffee, pastries, and bagels. I didn't love that they used plastic spoons, forks, etc...not very environmentally friendly. I also noticed our towels were changed out every day even though we didn't put them on the floor. Location cannot be beat. You can walk to everything and take the bus to the park, which is good because parking is tight and getting in and out of the lots isn't easy. There are a lot of places to sit outside, water, coffee and tea are always available which is nice. The hot water heater did break while we were there, so there was one night when I had to take a cold shower, but I get that it happens and they handled it well and quickly. They did offer me a 10% discount for that day, which was nice.

Yelp
Amazing stay! My husband and I just stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. Very nice staff and the rooms were impeccable. I will say the best part was the breakfast every morning!
google avatar

Hong K.

Yelp
Great location, walking distance to everything in Bar Harbor. They provide complimentary umbrellas and bikes for your day trips. Rooms were clean and so were the bathrooms. Comfortable beds. Super cute place to stay with lots of common areas to sit and eat your breakfast or ice cream. The only complaint is the bathroom was a little small and I don't think there was an exhaust fan in them (my towel would still be wet after 8 hours on the rack)? Would definitely stay there again on our next visit to Bar Harbor!

Al J.

Yelp
Great location and if you can get a front room you have a great view of the park and buses. But you gottta book early.

Yelp
First time in Bar Harbor. Stayed here one night while exploring on a road trip. It is a very quaint hotel with nice rooms. The front desk people are kind and helpful. I stayed late November of 2014. Good price and excellent location for walking around town. Not too many places were open at this time of the year but we enjoyed our stay.
google avatar

Cate M.

Yelp
We had such a nice stay here. The room was updated and cozy. Most importantly to me, it was CLEAN. The staff was friendly and present when needed. The location was perfect. Walking distance to all restaurants/shops/waterfront. This will definitely be our first choice for lodging whenever we return to Bar Harbor.
google avatar

Yelp
This boutique hotel FAR exceeded our expectations! My wife and I spent two fantastic nights there, and were so impressed by their attention to detail. It is right in the heart of the village, with everything in walking distance. Elizabeth, General Manager, was an absolute joy. She was helpful with sightseeing suggestions, walked us to our room, and provided customer excellence at every interaction. Carniela at the front desk was also very kind and competent as she served us. The decor, aromas, shampoo, all showed attention to detail. This is what travel and customer service should look like! The owner of this hotel has figured out the formula for hospitality excellence! Thank you for a great experience in Bar Harbor!

Yelp
This was such a lovely place to stay. We had been staying out of town, and decided to stay here our final night in Bar Harbor, I'm so glad we did. The room was just beautifully decorated, and the bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. It was a quiet and cozy place to stay. The staff was super friendly, and it's right in town, convenient to restaurants and shops. I love this place and definitely will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
A beautiful hotel in downtown Bar Harbor Maine. The room was modern, well decorated, and cozy. The bed was really comfortable too. The staff was polite and friendly and ready to entertain any questions. They gave restaurant ideas and evening activities. I was there off season so alot of things were closed, so their knowledge led me down the right path. The only complaint was the heater/ac in the room was really loud. It did a great job keeping the room at a comfortable temperature, but it woke me up every time it kicked on. Light sleepers beware.
google avatar

Amuse B.

Yelp
My King room was a little small but I LOVE that it was right off the porch and easy to access in/out. Love that they have cereal and tea and whatnot 24/7 and served lemonade upon arrival. The porch really is a gem, they even have heat lamps if you need them. There's a hot tub and bikes you can use. Very cute and the most perfect location with all the shops and restaurants right outdoor.

Yelp
We got the Cadillac mountain suite through air bnb and got a good weekend deal. The suite had 2 rooms - loving room with a twin and a main bedroom with a. Queen, fireplace, deck looking out at Cadillac mountain (partially obscured by the museum next door) and a bathroom with shower and jacuzzi. Here is what I loved: the location in bar harbor cannot be beat, cozy and clean accommodation. The queen bed was really comfortable. The twin bed not so much but the privacy and the space could not be beat. The amenities: strong wifi, good coffee and tea, orange ice water outside (though I think the oranges weren't changed over 3 days that we were there and the water tasted a bit stale to me - but that's just me), fire pit outside for chillier nights and plenty of parking. Didn't like: no extra toothbrush or paste for the demented like me who forgot this stuff. No hairdryer in the bathroom. Extra towels were not added to the room for the extra guests. The people in the room next door, talking on the phone at the top of their voices at 5am (I guess more signs to please respect others sleep) and the couple on the deck below us smoking and blowing their cancerous waste towards us. Smoking should be prohibited on the premises. Period. Overall, I'd give it 4 star and would come again but I think k the amenities were lacking a little for the price. Adding hairdryers, having some extra toiletries for the forgetful and a strict no smoking policy would be great.

Alexandre W.

Yelp
Excellent location, good service, clean rooms. The rooms are on the smaller side, but close to all Bar Harbor main attractions. Stayed the week ending with Labor Day weekend, and the value proposition was just OK.
google avatar

Shamik T.

Yelp
Very quaint, clean, and convenient hotel in the heart of Bar Harbor. Awesome staff, and all the more -- a very good price, considering you're literally a 2 minute walk from all the shops of Bar Harbor. This is a great place that carries the atmosphere of a bed and breakfast, but without the forced mingling that typically follows with such a stay. I had a very good stay and will stay again when I'm back.
google avatar

Vanessa M.

Yelp
The location of this Hotel is perfect. It is right in the middle of everything. Our bedroom was clean. The service was wonderful. The price was right. I warn you though, I have never seen so many flowers in my life. Flowered wallpaper, flowered duvet...It was funny. I added a picture so you can see what I am talking about.
google avatar

Yelp
I can't express how much my wife and I loved Acadia Hotel. Walking distance to pretty everything in Bar Harbor. Private parking! It's the best. Acadia hotel and bar harbor will probably be my wife and I yearly visit vacation. Thank you so much for everything
google avatar

Yelp
Room 11 has a mini room with space enough for your baby! Low ceiling but spacious. If you are over six feet tall, this room isn't for you. The prices were excellent and the room was nice. I went with family and we stayed in three rooms - the farmers porch on the side of the house is fantastic.... especially since it rained nearly the whole time we were there. One weird and disappointing thing about the place is that they will not clean your room unless you leave out the sign that says "service please". That's fine, but they didn't tell us. when I went to ask the front desk the next day to please remember to clean my room, she informed me of this policy. just post a sign!! It's different from every other hotel in the world, so just post a sign in the room. I really felt like they were just being stingy so they didn't have to pay someone to come in and clean the room. Not a reason not to stay here, but important! They were kind enough and honest enough to mail my cousin a set of very expensive headphones that he left in closet. They could have kept them and they didn't. I go to Bar Harbor every year and I might stay here again, I might not. But I probably surf for a new place either way. Love Bar harbor!!

Aileen M.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I decided to visit Acadia National Park for a little weekend getaway. Acadia Hotel was absolutely perfect and made our weekend that much more enjoyable. The room was super spacious, clean...and the bed was SO comfy. The staff was super helpful in recommending restaurants and hiking trails. All together it was very charming and I will 100% come back to visit again.
google avatar

Erin S.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here 3 nights for our first visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Great location to everything. The staff is very kind and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I love the reading nook and porch- and those fresh breakfast muffins! The only thing we noticed was that is that the bathroom in our room was INCREDIBLY small and our room looked directly onto the porch, so unless we had the blinds 100% closed there wasn't much privacy!

Carly M.

Yelp
This weekend my husband and I came to stay for three nights to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We booked several nights in advance and relied solely on location and reviews to figure out where to stay since this was our first bar harbor trip. We were greeted by Elizabeth upon arriving, she was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean, comfortable and had a fridge. The hot tubs were nice to enjoy at night, the bikes aren't in pristine condition but were available to use and allowed us to get in a 17 mile bike ride around Acadia. Helmets were also provided. They offered a light, basic continental breakfast that we didn't take advantage of but was available (frosted shredded wheat cereal, Cheerios, almond and regular milk, apple juice, apples, coffee and pastries. We weren't in town for an hour and immediately fell in love and already looked into booking our next stay. Project social is a nice little restaurant with tapas connected to the hotel. The only complaint we had is the sheet didn't fit the bed well so it was constantly coming off. Otherwise we LOVED this hotel! Thank you and keep up the GREAT work!

Yelp
I stayed here in May 2008 for 3l nights. Rates were reasonable as it wasn't the summer season yet. Room and bath were clean and comfortable. It has that inn feel about it so it feels like you're staying in Grandma's guest bedroom, but I'd certainly stay there again.
google avatar

Lj M.

Yelp
Loved this place. Great location, great staff and the Cadillac Mountain Suite was beautiful. Wish we could have stayed longer. Cool vibe with live music on front porch in evenings.

Jacki S.

Yelp
The location is fabulous, the staff very nice & helpful, and loved having private parking. We also liked the 24 hr coffee/tea, cereal and muffins. The rooms are nice but we found ours not very functional. Only one tiny trash can, just one chair to sit in and no flat working surface to look at maps, etc. The bed was nice & comfortable but it was ruined by very cheap linens that did not stay on the mattress and horrible pillows (easy fix).
google avatar

Mali P.

Yelp
I'll definitely be staying here again and would recommend it to everyone. It was in a great location, clean, quiet (even though it was on a busy street). I didn't spend much time in my room since I was visiting the park, but the staff I briefly interacted with was friendly. I was glad for Peter's Things to Do list posted around the hotel and their recommendations for breakfast and dining spots. Since it was late in the season, a lot of places were closed, but the staff knew and updated me when I checked in. The value for the price was spot on.
google avatar

Yelp
Perfect stay, hands down! Fantastic downtown location with awesome, friendly staff and lovely décor. Super comfortable atmosphere and privacy. Come and go you as you please and enjoy all that Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor has to offer! Best hotel, hands-down!

Yelp
Fall in BarHarbor is fabulous. The Acadia in is located far enough from the cruise ship travelers and located at the end of Main street - conveniently to 2 of my favorite eating spots. The staff are super friendly and very helpful in helping pick a trail at Acadia Natl Park. I'm not a big B&B fan but this is kinda like a B&B - i fell like i was staying in my home - with games and books and a back and front porch with a fire pit. So relaxing on a cool fall evening. The room was about the right size for a bedroom. The bathroom was a bit tight - the shower stall was claustrophobic and you really need to be skinny to not touch the walls of the shower. This was not too bad for a 2 night stay. Room was well equipped with a nice size fridge and parking right in front. I highly recommend this place as the price was very reasonable and it felt like a home away form home. I will definitely check out the vacancy here upon returning to Bar Habor.
google avatar

Greg G.

Yelp
I stayed at the Acadia Hotel for four nights in late May 2012. If you're looking for a finely decorated inn or B&B, you should look elsewhere - but if you're looking for a clean comfortable bed, conveniently located, and fairly priced, the Acadia Hotel is for you!
google avatar

Yelp
Stayed here for 2 nights in April. Front desk staff was friendly and able to suggest restaurants and trails in Acadia. Hotel is fabulously located- within an easy walk to everything in downtown Bar Harbor, and a short drive to the park. Our room was very clean and quiet, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was a little small and quirky, but for 2 nights, we made it work. Would certainly stay here again.

Yelp
We stayed here for our honeymoon. Were there for 6 nights. Rooms were small but very clean and nicely decorated. Inn itself was quaint, comfortable, clean and cozy. Staff was very helpful and warm. The location of this hotel cannot be beat-- walking distance to downtown Bar Harbor and across the street from the bus stop to Acadia. On the first night we noticed our toilet was leaking pretty badly (clean water from base) and Peter (the owner) fixed it immediately. He was extremely helpful in recommending interesting and fun things to do and actually offered to drive us into the park with our bikes one morning when there was a long line for the bus and we were crunched on time for a reservation later that day. There are ample shared porch areas/ decks to sit on and relax in the mornings and at night. The only thing I would have done differently was to book a room with a private porch. We would definitely stay here again-- highly recommend.

Yelp
Love this hotel! Stayed in the new addition in a spacious room with a balcony that had expansive views of the village green and the upper town. My room was super clean, and the king-sized bed was sheer heaven. This is the PERFECT, peaceful place to stay in Bar Harbor in the winter because all the cozy, good eating and drinking places are nearby as well as a fantastic eat-in movie theater across the street. It's the perfect get away--you should go! Oh, yes, there are also lots of great hiking trails nearby if you're not into all-day indoor comforts as much as I am!

Yelp
The Acadia Hotel is in a perfect location. We were able to walk to shops and restaurants and visit our favorite Irish pub, Leary's Landing. This small, personal hotel is immaculate. The new owners have updated many features, adding a new lobby to welcome guests. The new Cadillac Mt. suite is spacious with a beautiful view of Cadillac Mountain from the bedroom window and private second floor deck. We look forward to visiting often.

Yelp
I couldn't be more pleased with these accommodations. The room was lovely and the bed was comfortable and huge. Front desk had amenities like coffee, tea, water bottles, and (best of all) cookies! Staff was very pleasant. Minor quibble is that although the thermostat heated up our room nicely, the bathroom remained quite chilly. Overall, great location and intimate, charming hotel.

Yelp
Booked last minute through airbnb. Perfect little hotel, friendly and accommodating staff. Right in town, so super convenient. Had a great stay!

Yelp
We stayed here for two nights recently. The central location and the front porch are the star. You're right in the middle of things - quick walking to everything and right across street from the bus which will take you anywhere. The room was OK, and clean. We were in the basement room which had very low ceilings and one window which was above the bed with the AC. The AC was blowing onto our heads while we slept. Not ideal. But overall, highly recommended. We ate dinner and breakfast around the corner at "Cafe This Way" which was outstanding.
