The best thing about Açai Hostel is that everyone is super nice, happy to help, happy to drink with you (or make you drinks – caipirinhas:)) or even to party with you. We were there around carnaval and it was nice that we, as two girls, could always find people to go out with or just to have a good time with at the hostel itself. We were super happy with the rooftop terrace! A good place to socialize or to take capoeira lessons.||||In general most things are taken care of. The beds are really good (lots of privacy, lots of place to store your stuff). The bathrooms are good in the sense that they’re clean and the showers are really nice; there are only two of the four toilets working though and they were often clogged.||The kitchen is alright, quite basic but most things are there. There is a fridge where you can store food and there are also some shelves for food outside of the fridge.||Most of the staff speak English and that is really nice when you’re northern European like we are:):)||Also, the location is great, you are only a few steps away from postcard-Pelourinho.||||The not so great part was that the people before us lost their keys to the lockers beside and underneath the beds so we couldn’t keep our stuff safe in our room and had to take it with us or leave it at the reception. Would be nice if that is fixed very soon.||||I had a great time with you guys! Obrigada!

We came to Acai Hostel with pretty high expectations, looking at the pictures and reading all the good reviews. Unfortunately, the hostel could not fulfill them. The room was nice, with a comfy bed plus curtain for some privacy, good ac, a locker and a plug plus lamp for each bed. But this was it already. Two out of four toilets in the bathrooms were not working and the kitchen was just not nice at all. Really dirty kitchenware, cutlery you could not use as it nearly fell apart. Same for most of the doors in the hostel (bathroom, dorm). The wifi was working very poorly most of the time. Staff did not really care about most of the things. One night, some people came in producing a lot of noise for a long time, but staff wouldn’t say anything, although they have a 24/7 reception. The location was good though and also the price. But still, we would not recommend the hostel. It might have been much nicer once, but there are a lot of things that need to be fixed right now.

We stayed 4 nights at Açaí Hostel and it was the best we had so far in Latam! First the place is quite clean (bathrooms cleaned everyday) with perfectly clean rooms. You have a looooots of space for your stuff in your bed (lockers below and lockers with plug). You have an open kitchen with everything you need to cook and even a terrace to enjoy breakfast, diner or drink outside. It’s also a perfect place to meet people. The WiFi is quite good as well and you can do laundry. But the major point of the Hostel is the kindness of the staff. Speaking a perfect English (and even French) they were so welcoming and friendly, helped us in everything we need, always ready for a chat and offers free shot everyday! Most amazing staff we’ve met!! We highly recommend you Açaí Hostel!!

The rooms were safe and clean. Each bed had it's own lock and key to keep objects safe. Camera, phones, money. Beds were very comfortable and it is located in center of Salvador. Breakfast was great and the overall stay could not have been better. The rooftop terrasse was a ideal to chill and meet people. Staff very helpful and friendly. I loved Acai Hostel. Was the best on my 2months trip in Brazil !

I had a great time at the hostelThe beds are brand new and comfortable. The staff also had great attitudes and spoke good english and made a good effort to get a night going especially Sally who was great at providing all the information . The owners are the sweetest couple I've ever seen even sweeter than the snickers bars in the hostel fridge. The kitchen is very well equipped so you can make anything from eggs and rice to eggs and potatoes, the cookers were the most efficient I've used during my travels and there was actually a good selection of pots and pans . The location is in the historical centre and has security guards 24/7 which is great coming back from. If you're still reading this review and haven't booked it yet then stop reading and please book it.

My stay was short but this is a perfectly located hostel. Staff was friendly and helpful. The laundry service is AMAZING-overnight and ready in morning and fair price of 20 real. The beds and shower facilities were really great (keys to lock big locker and small locker while your phone is charging overnight). But really, in salvador, you want a safe place to stay and this is half a block to what i consider the safest spot in salvador so thats nice and convenient to boot.

Açai is the best hostel I have ever stayed! The room is realy good and beds are big and very comfy. The bathrooms also are great... Açai has a rooftop with a beautiful view to several iconic buildings that gives you a good area to chatting with the others backpackers. The staff is really cool! I definitely recommend to stay there!

I'm glad my friend recommended I stay here for a few days. It was central and had info on all the cool things in town (must be there on a Tuesday Night to catch the Samba bands walking through the town). The breakfast options are pretty good. The best thing about the dorms is they have lockers below each bed and beside the bed and there's a blackout curtain on each bunk. Amazing!
