I love coming to this location. The chips are always fresh!!! The flavor of the food is always fire! I am a regular here because I cannot get enough. Look how delicious the food look. We need more locations around the world. lol Please don’t ever change the recipes.

First, try to the Sunday brunch. Breakfast, mariscos , dessert bar, taco bar, omelet bar, bar bar 🍹. So you get it, food options are great. The reason I’ll be coming back though is our server Juan Herrera. Not only did he hustle multiple tables but he did it with top notch service. Can’t wait to come back

It was my birthday meal and it did not disappoint! Juan H was our waiter and he took SUCH good care of us! Delicious meal (combo meal, chicken fajitas, and Mexican Caesar salad--yummm), great service, and friendly staff. Juan was amazing!

This is a great brunch option, $29.99 buffet and bottomless mimosas. It's a strip mall anchor, booths and tables, attentive wait staff, lots of parking, casual. Buffet has EVERYTHING: traditional breakfast, Mexican favorites, fruit, tons of sweets and a great pineapple cocktail. The churro pancakes were awesome!! I'll be back.

Juan H was our server today and he was excellent! Super attentive, funny and knowledgeable! We come here a lot and our first time with him and very happy and satisfied! Thank you Juan!

Came for the first time today for breakfast and was greeted incredibly! Eliodoro provided excellent service. He was very attentive, consistently refilled our drinks, and made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal. Overall, he made our dining experience wonderful.”

Had dinner here with my mother and step father. Had a nice experience. I ordered the Asada Burrito. I highly recommend everyone to check this place out if you are in the area.

I used to come here years ago and it was so lively every day. Years later, on a Tues, I visited and it seemed dead. The were people there but it was not a lovely atmosphere. The staff was ok, the hostess had a small attitude. The manager is nice. The waiter was nice. I ordered the pick 3 and pick 2. Pick 3 had the soft carnitas taco, it has lettuce and tomatoes, never had that before but it was very good, although not a lot of meat, score is 7.1/10. The shredded chicken enchilada was not shredded, just cut up chicken, kinda tasty, 6.7/10. And the chicken taquitos were not worth it. Over cooked, meat had no flavor, 2.3/10. Location is clean, the outdoors is a gem but they wouldn't let anyone sit out there. Overall, there are better places to visit but not a bad place to go.

Beautiful restaurant, a variety of energy throughout...The hostesses were lovely and sat us within 20 minutes. Our server was really nice, and made us feel welcome. My sister and I shared the pineapple frozen margarita. TO DIE FOR! 12/10, amazing. we shared the nachos with the picadillo beef, and I had the burrito gigante with carnitas. I haven't had carnitas that tender before, i was enchanted for sure. Last night was such a great treat, thank you to everyone

I went here this past weekend, for my birthday. Am truly disappointed by a waiter with black hair, tall, light complexion,young with an accent. He was yelling political words like "Viva Donold trump" . I can't Express how uncomfortable me and my family felt especially in this time of crisis. I enjoy coming to to this restaurant, but won't be returning soon until I know the waiters or Services has been resolved.

We do not have any near me so when I saw this location I had to check it out. Chips and salsa as always were fresh. Food portions were a good size. The chicken and rice were delicious. Service was awesome!!!! I will definitely be back.

I came to Acapulco on a Wednesday evening in March to celebrate my birthday. Since I love tacos and margaritas, this seemed like the perfect spot--and it didn't disappoint. We sat in the cantina area for happy hour and caught the Laker game, which added to the fun atmosphere. I ordered the margarita flight, and it was delicious--definitely had me feeling a little buzzed (don't judge me!). Service throughout the evening was friendly and attentive. For food, I had the carne asada tacos--one hard shell, one soft. Both were tasty and satisfying. My friend went with the birria tacos and enjoyed them as well. To top things off, I had flan for dessert. Great drinks, good food, solid service, and a fun vibe. I'll definitely be back!

Nostalgia to the core! I thought all Acapulco locations had been closed, but lo and behold, there's one in Downey!! Eekk!! They have happy hour specials and Sunday buffet brunch like the good old days. I came in during the week after a doctor to visit to the Downey Kaiser and stumbled upon this finding. Great service and atmosphere. Great food and drinks. I can't wait to be back!

We had a retirement party with about 40 guests and Juan Herrera was awesome. He was very attentive. He had great customer skills and even though it was a large party, he was able to take care of all our needs. We will definitely be back

Acapulco has the best fajitas! I always go every year on my birthday because I get a free entry! I got a fajita with chicken, shrimp, and beef! The flavor is always delicious and made fresh! The waiter was very sweet and attentive! The ambience is cute and I heard they have karaoke nights!

Enjoyed a good time celebrating my mother's birthday! Service was great, considering we were a large party. Jose H was friendly, courteous and helpful with all that was needed. Unfortunately, the buffet wrapped up 1/2 hour after arriving, the pozole was no longer available (sold out). No one in our party was able to sample it.

Eating here was a pleasure, the waiter Vianey was very attentive! The service was excellent and the food was so good!!

Juan H. Was our wonderful server today for lunch! We had the sizzling fajitas with steak and shrimp, chips and salsa, and the black diamond margarita! I love the salsa here, it is think and chunky and mildly hot (so my partner doesn't cry hahahaha), and the chips were hot and crunchy! The fajitas were so good that I forgot to take a picture of them.m! LOL But I am adding a picture of the leftovers in a tortilla, like a burrito for later! The restaurant is spacious, comfortable, with nice padded booths and chairs (y'all know how I hate hard chairs!) We enjoyed our conversation with Juan, who has a sparkling personality and a great laugh! Thanks for making our Saturday brunch even better!!

Juan catered to all of our needs. We went on Wednesday for the lunch buffet. It was fully stocked and the food was amazing as always. We try to come at least once a month. Juan H was the best server. He is helpful and so funny as well. We enjoy when we have interaction with our servers, but you have come to Acapulco come on days they have the buffet and the night life at the cantina is great as well!

I like Acapulco's for their enchiladas. What I do is order a combo plate where you pick two or three items. I pick three and make it two enchiladas and a taco. Ride and beans are included. I've never been disappointed. The fajita plates are also very good and come to your table sizzling. They always start you off with complimentary chips and salad to munch on while you wait for your order. Nice crispy chips and medium heat flavorful salsa. There's seating inside and out with booths and tables. The setting is comfortable. Service is friendly and attentive.

My family and I arrived and were seated, I immediately went to the restroom, only to find it in a truly unacceptable state of uncleanliness. It was so bad that I couldn't use it. I informed the hostess, as I understand that restroom maintenance is often the responsibility of the host/bussing staff. While she initially agreed to address the issue, I observed her neglecting her duty, remaining at the podium absorbed in her phone for an extended period. This was concerning, given the restaurant was not particularly busy, indicating the restroom's condition was likely a result of prolonged neglect. I subsequently requested to speak with a manager to our server. Our server proceeded to the hostess and told the hostess, the hostess walked over and stated she was the manager. My complaints regarding the restroom's appalling condition were met with indifference; her attention remained focused on her phone. This response not only highlighted a severe lapse in management but also raised serious questions about the overall hygiene standards of the kitchen and other areas of the establishment. Feeling incredibly dissatisfied and concerned about potential health risks, my family and I decided to leave without ordering food. We were extremely disappointed, as the uncleanliness of the restrooms significantly impacted our experience and led us to question the restaurant's commitment to providing a safe and pleasant dining environment. We do not recommend dining here.

I hadn't been to this location in years, but an old friend suggested we meet there for lunch. We worked in Norwalk together before retiring, and this was our after work spot! Well let me begin by saying how pleasant the atmosphere was as we entered. The mariachi band was playing and guests were having a good time. Our waiter, Juan H., was the best part. He was so pleasant and greeted us with a big smile. Although we were there for a long time catching up, we never felt rushed by him. He was very attentive to our needs and even offered to be our photographer for our group picture. Thanks Juan H. and the rest of the staff for making our friends date, an enjoyable date.

Great Sunday Brunch service with Juan H! We almost never saw the bottom of our mimosas!! The food was great and fresh. We love the sweet corn cake and veggies here. The omelette bar is good. It's cozy and close inside, kinda feels like a family parrty. Wish there were mor outside seating or food serving like other locations but it was good, especially for our big party.

We celebrated my mother's birthday at Acapulco. Very grateful for Juan Herrara for the great service he provided. He was on top of everything and made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks to Juan we enjoyed our gathering. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. Quality of food could use improvement.

This review is for the Christmas Brunch. At under $40 a person it includes champagne, juice and coffee. On arrival we were greeted & given 15-20 min complimentary coffee, hot cocoa and sweet bread.the Buffett had made to order omelets, waffles, hand made tortillas a variety of meats including roast beef and ham, Cheese enchiladas, chicken tamales, chili Verde, there was a children's Tavel with chicken tenders, Mac and cheese, mini corn dogs , cereal cups with milk. Fresh fruit , salad and a selection of mini desserts were also provided. Service was friendly and efficient, the restaurant has Ben remodeled and is modern with indoor and outdoor dining as well as fire features parking is ample. Given the price would definitely consider doing it again

We love the lunch buffet at Acapulco! At 15.99 the food is always hot..homemade tortillas for tacos, soup, enchiladas the list goes on and on! It's everyday and perfect for a quick lunch!

We came today for an early Mother's Day Brunch and were a party of 10. We were initially greeted by a warm and accommodating hostess staff that set the tone for a great dining experience. The ambiance was festive, bustling, and very energetic. It appears that the restaurant was recently renovated since the last time here and improvements were esthetically pleasant. Our lead server, Juan H was amazing, he was so attentive, friendly, and polite. He made sure our drinks were always filled and removed used plates. Just great service that added another layer of enjoyment to our dinning experience. As for the food, I'm not a huge fan of buffets but this one was surprisingly very good. The food I had was flavorful and delicious with many great options to choose from. I had an omelette made with fresh ingredients at the omelette station. In conclusion, the restaurant succeeded our expectations, we had a great dinning experience and were provided amazing service.

Ambiance: When I got there, it was a light crowd, no complaints here. There was music playing and a few tvs with different games playing. Overall, the place was pretty chill... could use a few upgrades. Service: My server was really sweet, was friendly, and gave me time to hang out without just leaving me alone completely. Made sure I got what I asked for. Food: I enjoyed my food and drinks overall. Drinks were tasty and kind of strong, I didn't care for the sopes, and I usually like them. These were just a bit bland, unfortunately, and the tacos were just ok. Will be back to try other items, though. Parking was great!

Our family celebrated 3 birthdays with the buffet brunch at Acapulco. The restaurant interior is spacious and bright. Buffet food selection was great. And Juan H. topped off our experience with a smile and bottomless mimosas!

My family and I absolutely love coming to this location for brunch. On 10/21/24, we pre-celebrated for my brunch and had the opportunity to be helped by Juan H. He was such an amazing waiter. The food was good, as always, & we had a really good time. Very reasonably priced and family oriented as well ! I'd definitely recommend going for brunch.!!

I haven't been to Acapulco in many years. I attended a women's brunch with my church today and we were waited on by Juan H. He was the best. The food was great and the restaurant was nice and roomy. Will definitely come back soon!

Great service and a wonderful selection. Our food and drinks were ready quickly, portions and prices are very fair. They have a good happy hour as well as other daily specials available. I enjoy their tacos, my husband, the Fritos. They are able to cater to large groups and birthday parties. The chips and salsa were delicious as well.

10 Years of Marriage and Acapulco's Still the Best!" Story: 2014 Jerry & Paco ( me ) got married and had our small reception in Acapulco Restaurant! It was amazing time with my family and friends! Today 9/6/2024 we came back to Acapulco Restaurant to celebrate our 10th anniversary! We love this place! We live in Oceanside, CA and every time we visit Downey we eat here in Acapulco restaurant! Food: is always delicious! And great drinks! Husband love his margarita flight ! Service: ten years ago it was super good and very friendly to us and today the same experience very friendly to us ! Love it here! We had a great server JUAN! Make us feel special! Ambiance: very relax and family atmosphere! Is like a little piece of Mexico ! 10 years and still same feeling of family and friends Hopefully we will be back for out 20th anniversary
