Accademia Carrara Museum

A relatively small art gallery for one that is so important. Fascinating old masters and religious paintings primarily from the 14th to 18th centuries. Temporary exhibition of art works on stone (eg slate, alabaster) was very interesting. Was also delightfully quiet but then it was a Thursday in December

Spent the best part of a day here, enjoying many wonderful paintings and sculptures There wasn't enough time to see everything in detail but we felt that we'd had our money's worth. There was a restaurant, small cafe and a green space (PwC gardens) open to the public so keep your tickets hand if you go there as you need them to get back into the museum.

gorgeous art by the old masters. mostly religious art. small exhibition (only the permanent exhibition was open during my visit), but worth seeing.

We visited the gallery on a Sunday and it wasn't very busy. The staff is very friendly and offers explanations about the museum's tour and the main works of art. There are some interesting paintings by Raphael, Boticelli, Canaletto and other well-known masters, but there are also other spectacular paintings that are less well-known. This gallery is worth a visit if you are in Bergamo.

It was a surprise! The gallery is extremely rich with invaluable exhibits and represents all the art eras. 10/10 fully recommended.

The museum shop also offers a nice selection of books and design objects inspired by the collection, making it a good place to pick up a tasteful souvenir.One of the highlights is the impressive selection of works by masters such as Botticelli, Bellini, Raphael, Titian and Moroni, which allows visitors to appreciate different regional schools and styles in a very clear way. The layout makes it easy to follow a chronological or thematic path, and the lighting and spacing of the works give each painting room to be enjoyed properly. Information panels are helpful and concise, offering enough context even if you are not an art expert.Overall, Accademia Carrara is a must-visit in Bergamo: a high-level museum experience in a manageable size, perfect for a visit of a few hours that leaves a strong and pleasant impression.

A visit to the Accademia Carrara was a must for me. I had a lot of fun, I saw interesting things I had never seen before and learned lots of information about such old works of art.
