ACE Adventure Resort | Whitewater Rafting West Virginia

We camped at the campground on site and took the Upper Gauley trip during "Gauley Season". The trip was TOTALLY epic! Peter was our guide and I would totally recommend requesting him! We seemed to be hitting the best lines and we were the only boat on our trip that got all the paddles to touch the top of Pillow Rock! The facility was extremely impressive sporting 2 restaurants, excellent wifi facility wide, large gift shop, huge outdoor covered lounge area, as well as all kinds of excursions to choose from. All the staff seemed so friendly. Zack was supper cool as the overall trip guide. Definitely going back for sure!

We did the Half day Lower river trip and had the BEST time. Great trip for a beginner like me, perfect mix of fun and challenging. Plus the incredible views the entire time. The entire staff was amazing! Super knowledgeable & safety oriented, but also so down to earth and fun to be around which made the day even better! Big shout out to our guide Laney B. she was awesome!!

We had the BEST TIME with our raft guide, Scotty O, during the lower new river half day trip. He was very knowledgeable and made us all feel very safe. We also had so much fun with Scotty. He really is the best guide ever. Had so much fun and will definitely be back and request him again.

We started coming down to Ace in May 2004 with four guys for the first trip down for Summer Gauley with the infamous Scotty O!! Little did I know that trip would lead to going the following 21 years on the Upper, with a few Lowers mixed in (ALWAYS in a 12 footer). Ace never disappoints on the river!!! We have done the Upper 22x and I think 2x on the Lower, ( 3 of us also came down in June for a kayak "lesson" on the New with Andrew!!!! He was an awesome instructor!!!) with at least 60 different friends that we have dragged from NJ the 530 miles to introduce them to the best WWWV has to offer!!! Not to mention the year 12 of us came down only to have Susan tell us the river was CLOSED!!!! (Meadow was too high)| Usually make it a point to track down (security) Jimmy, and Jerry for a catch up every year, but with the new cabins (501-504) we were a little off the beaten path to flag anyone down. I prefer the Chalets, probably because they are seasoned. The new ones are very rough walking even in flips with all the 1-1/2" stone. But the 4 cabins comfortable fit the 20 people we brought!!!|You guys always seem to take suggestions well and adapt to the surveys well!!! (GF options on the bus ride home) For that I thank you!

Hutch, Ryan and the rest of the team were knowledgeable, upbeat, and made sure everyone—from the more adventurous to the cautious—felt comfortable and included. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and the mix of thrilling rapids and calmer stretches gave us a perfect balance of excitement and time to enjoy the views. Great for families—our group ranged in age from 9-68 and everyone had a blast. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable outdoor experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Our first white water rafting trip was an absolute blast, exceeding all expectations! From start to finish, the experience was incredibly well-organized and thoroughly enjoyable. A huge part of what made it so special were our exceptional guides. Their expertise and enthusiasm were infectious, immediately putting everyone at ease, even those of us who were a little nervous at first. Fox was our raft guide and his knowledge of the river was impressive and he ensured our safety while maximizing the thrill. Beyond the adrenaline rush, the trip was surprisingly informative. Fox and Tammy shared fascinating insights about the local ecology, geology, and history of the area. Our children (ages 7 and 8) absolutely loved it! Fox was fantastic with them, making sure they felt safe and engaged throughout the trip. He even taught them some fun facts about the river. It was a wonderful family bonding experience that we'll cherish forever. And let's not forget the lunch! We were treated to a delicious and satisfying meal. Overall, our white water rafting trip was an unforgettable adventure and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, educational, and memorable outdoor experience!

Had an amazing first experience rafting the Lower Gauley! These guys are a blast. Our guide was Nick R. and he gave us an awesome trip. We had a couple of inexperienced people in our group and he did an excellent job guiding us and the provided lunch was top notch and definitely exceeded expectations! The entire staff was friendly and entertaining and they definitely make sure you have the best experience. Highly recommend using Ace and request Nick as your guide!

We did a zip line tour with guides Stevi, Davey, and Ryan. I cannot say enough wonderful things about them and the experience as a whole! WV is so beautiful and it’s thrilling to see it this way. Our guides were funny, kind, and very knowledgeable of the area. They also made the experience feel super safe. We could all enjoy the adventure with peace of mind. Highly recommend!
