Jake is a 5 star waiter and has great suggestions for first time customers. I was absolutely amazed and impressed at everything that he suggested for us. I will be coming back for sure and I would recommend that you call and make a reservation now if you are looking for quite possibly the best Italian food in the city!!♥️

We just had our second dinner at Acero and it was an incredible experience. Both times we’ve done the chef’s grand tasting menu, which is entirely worth it! The food is beyond belief and the service is always fantastic. Our waiter Harris explained each dish which made the experience even better. We also got to meet Chef Nick, who created these amazing dishes. My favorite from the menu was the skatewing, which was unlike anything I’d ever had and just a perfect bite. My fiancée’s favorite was the mushroom risotto. Ultimately, everything was fantastic and we will be back! Highly recommend!

10/10! WOW! First time dining at Acero and will not be the last. Possibly one of the best restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of dining at. We did the 4 course tasting menu - well worth the money and left us more than satisfied. We arrive right at opening and were one of the only people in the place, that quick changed as it filled up quick! Don’t miss out on this place and don’t miss out on the tasting menu! Everything from the service to the ambience to the food - phenomenal! Shout out to our server Kieth (I think), he was great and so helpful!!

Google
Family get-together in the Lou with the suggestion of this unique restaurant. We tried the 4 course approach with the wine service which together hit a culinary high note! I was not aware of crudo as a dish, but it was excellent! Chicken Milanese was choice for me, but a little lemony for my wife. Walleye was an excellent morsel presented beautifully artistic, surrounded by veggie morsels. Lamb chops were stated to be the best cut of meat my son ever had. A note in the wine pairings. This may seem a little steep, but when are you going to get pairings from 4 different $50 to $100 bottles curated at your table on the fly? What do you do when you're eyes beg you to order the whole menu? Return soon is the answer!

Google
Our group recently enjoyed a seven-course Grand Tasting dinner at Acero, and it surpassed all expectations. Every detail—from the attentive service of our exceptional waiter, Jake, to the beautiful plating and thoughtful explanations from the chef—was impeccable and elevated our dining experience. Each bite struck a perfect balance of flavor and texture. Known as the “GT” by regulars, this blind tasting offers no menu in advance. The chef curates each course based on the freshest available ingredients, both on and off the menu. While you might be encouraged to step outside your usual comfort zone, rest assured, it’s a decision you won’t regret. We also opted for the wine pairings, which perfectly complemented each dish. In short, Acero has quickly become one of our top St. Louis restaurants. We can’t wait to return for another unforgettable meal. Thank you, Jake, Chef, and the entire Acero team!

Google
Wonderful Northern Italian meal and experience. The only thing approaching the quality of the food and the experience were the people also in attendance.

My husband and I love this restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is phenomenal. We have tried quite a lot of the menu over time and haven’t had one bad meal. Everything always exceeds our expectations. Highly recommend!!

Google
We took my son here for his birthday. The food was absolutely divine. A great culinary dance for your taste buds and olfactory senses. our server absolutely killed it. We did spend $100 ahead. Would we come here again? Especially if I impress somebody or it’s a celebration.

Yelp
Service and food were amazing. Has a very nice ambiance and great wine selection. One of the better Italian restaurants in the St. Louis area

Yelp
My second time here and won't be my last! Such a gem in the STL food scene. From the moment you walk up you see this gorgeous awning with flowers and then you step in and feel like you're in a little Italian restaurant. It's small and intimate setting but get ready for a filling meal! You can do a tasting menu where you get small servings of the menu or you can do Al La carte and get the full serving but do me a favor....just get the tasting menu! You can't go wrong! So many freshly made Italian food! There is a 4 and 7 course tasting menu and you can do wine pairings as well. Highly recommend this as it just adds to the meal. The waiters and bartenders really know the wines and pair perfectly with your Choice. There's not one thing on this menu I wouldn't recommend but if I have to tell you one dish to get: Egg Raviolio. May even be better than anything I've had in Italy! Service is outstanding. The waiters are very knowledgeable on the menu, wines, digestivios. They are the best at assuring your dining experience is 10/10. In the heart of Maplewood this is a great place for date night, girls night or to show your out of town guest what St. Louis has to offer!

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place and would recommend it to anyone and everyone! I typically don't choose Italian for a fancy dinner, but Acero changed my mind. We did the 4 course tasting menu and it was more than enough (but I finished everything anyway hehe). They did Italian food in a way I have never experienced before. There wasn't the classics on the menu, which I appreciated, it made me branch out and try new things. The egg raviolo was spectacular, it was so fresh and the sauce around it had such deep flavor and really elevated the dish. Our server was friendly and told us all about the menu and even some recommendations which were perfect. Acero is perfect for a date night, or any celebration. For the quality, taste, and experience, this is definitely one of my new favs in St. Louis

Yelp
Went here for my birthday dinner and I'm so glad I chose it! What a great spot for a nice dinner out! The staff was very accommodating. I had a reservation for six people, but we ended up having seven. They were very kind and let us squish seven into our table. Service was great and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and had excellent suggestions. This place isn't the biggest, and I'm not sure how they accommodate large parties. But for small groups or a cozy dinner, it's a great place! I do recommend making a reservation. We went on a Saturday night and it was fully booked with reservations. It shows just how good it is!

Yelp
We went in the other day for dinner and had an amazing time. We did the chefs tasting menu which was great! It was actually too much food (they put their egg yolk raviolo in and it's a huge dish) our server was great and had some nice wine recommendations. We enjoyed getting to try a little bit (or a lot) of everything.

Yelp
We recently ate at their sister restaurant so we're surprised when we walked in that they had the same owners! We thought their other restaurant was the best food in STL so we were excited. We did the four course which we did not realize we got to pick what we wanted! It was a nice surprise. I got the beet salad, Raviolo, steak, and chocolate torte. My husband got the crudo, bolognese, lamb chops, and tiramisu. Everything was fantastic. They know how to do sauces and flavors, it's amazing. The raviolo specifically was so rich and filling, it was SO good. I did the wine pairing which was awesome and my husband had an espresso martini which was great. Definitely one of the best we've had. One note - the service at both their restaurants is AMAZING. I'm talking the best we've ever had. They are attentive, helpful, and an experience everyone should see. They have top notch servers at these restaurants, truly. Our server was Keith and he and his team killed it. It's a beautiful space, easy to get to on the main Maplewood strip. We will absolutely be back to try their grand tasting menu.

Yelp
Top-notch service in an intimate dining establishment - what's not to love? Our waiter was attentive, thorough and very knowledgeable - issues with a dish were promptly resolved. He pitched the four-course menu, and we were sold! I'm torn on the apps - the mixed green salad was an herby, nutty delight, but the burrata was divine! The tomatoes were bursting with flavor, well-paired with the crusty, seared grain bread. My 2nd course, the tagliatelle al funghi was rich in buttery, nutty notes, and the 3rd dish, the lamb chops? Amazing! If you dine here, try the Lemon Semifreddo - as found in savory dishes, basil and lemon play very well together in desserts too.

Yelp
Delicious food! Highly recommend doing the tasting menu to get to try from each section of the menu. Generous tasting portions. We especially enjoyed the house-made bread, Raviolo, and Scallops (special). The staff was extremely friendly. We loved Simon the bar manager.

Yelp
We had a party of three for a very last minute get together on a Tuesday night. From the outside it is a very unassuming building on the corner of Manchester and Southwest in Maplewood. However, once you enter, it is a culinary adventure. Fine dining at its best. Our server was Keith, and he was kind, funny, and made really good suggestions on the menu. The service all around was impeccable, and the food was outstanding. The mushroom pasta was the best! First time here, so menu a little confusing= Keith guided us through the 4 course tasting menu. It was excellent for the price. We were all "stuffed" and the food was excellent. Open, airy, friendly atmosphere that can accommodate a romantic night or a full family (of which we saw both). The pasta is homemade, and the premise is farm to table. I highly recommend this and will definitely be going back.

Yelp
Amazing Culinary Experience! Acero provided an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. My husband made us reservations here to celebrate my birthday. We had many recommendations from foodie friends to try this place! Our waiter, Jacob, demonstrated remarkable expertise in wine selection, guiding us to a perfect full-bodied white from their diverse Italian selection. The 4-course dinner presented a delightful challenge with its array of tempting options, each dish showcasing fresh, seasonal ingredients and homemade pasta. The wild mushroom pasta was a standout. The thoughtful touch of a birthday card and candle-lit warm chocolate torte made the celebration truly memorable. Service was impeccable, food phenomenal, and the ambiance, undeniably romantic. A definite must-visit for those seeking a culinary journey infused with warmth and sophistication.

Yelp
OMG!!!! The fact we were lucky enough to get in here after visiting the Maplewood Art Fair; so lucky! Great ambiance...sat on the comfy patio and was impressed with the exceptional service. Very attentive and great recommendations! Did the 4 course meal and highly recommend. The Gnocci, as an app, is a must have! Had the chef special and pasta bolognese...perfect portion size and extremely flavorful. Wrapped it up with dessert, the chocolate torte is another must have!! Great place...will be back and recommend you do the same!

Yelp
Acero is our go to Italian restaurant in St. Louis! The food and service is always top notch and the ambiance feels like you're in Italy! We usually order the 4 course tasting menu, but if you want to go all in they offer a 7 course menu as well. Also, their wine selection is amazing! They have many DOCG wines to choose from and if you can't choose they offer wine pairings or will suggest a bottle based off your preferences! I would highly recommend Acero to everyone and anyone!!

Yelp
Seriously, one of the best dining experiences I've had in St. Louis! I went here with a couple of friends for one of their birthdays, and I couldn't recommend the four course tasting menu more! Personally, I chose to have the Barada bruschetta, the mushroom pasta, the Duck special with roasted brussels sprouts and acorn squash purée, and Tsuda finish it off. In total, this was $58 plus an up charge for the bruschetta and duck. My total bill ended up being about $74 with tax included. Each dish just seem to get better and better, and I Could taste every single flavor coming through in each of them. I feel like they combined the flavors and ingredients so incredibly well and the meals were so well balanced. I truly feel like the course menu is the best deal you can get as well for such high-quality dishes. I think this is the perfect date night spot, or even just nice night out. The staff was so incredibly helpful and even brought my friend out some cake and champagne on the house for her birthday. She also had a happy birthday card waiting for her at the table after she made the reservation. The inside is very cute and intimate. It is a little small if you have a big group, but they have a back room as well as a patio. Overall, I couldn't recommend them more!

Yelp
We really like Acero. The food is terrific and last weekend we had a very good waiter, Keith, who tried exceptionally hard despite difficult circumstances. , We were trying to celebrate an early Valentine's Day and were seated in a quiet spot in back. After our first course, two young men came in and were seated directly next to us. They proceeded to play a conference call on speaker on full volume right next to us for most of the remainder of our meal--probably 45 minutes. Keith did what he could to get them to stop, but he had limited power. Knowing that our dining experience was compromised, I would have expected management to acknowledge it in some way, but they didn't. I reached out very nicely the next day and submitted a form on their website and never received a response. I followed up with an email several days later, and still nothing. For a restaurant of this caliber, I expected a reply. We are disappointed.

Yelp
We did the chefs tasting and absolutely loved all of our courses. Our server Jacob was amazing and pointed us to some delicious wine and food. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back!

Yelp
An incredible meal, surpassing my expectations. If you can make it out to Acero, please do. My boyfriend took me here for a dinner date and the 4 course tasting menu was honestly perfection. The inside of the restaurant is pretty nice, and feels upscale but not pretentious. Our server started us off with bread and oil and this already was a great beginning. The bread was warm and soft, with a very open crumb. The oil was also very high quality, super flavorful and perfect for dipping. Here's what I tried: -Gnocco Frito: 10/10 - I didn't really know what to expect but this blew us away. The gnocco are like these sweet, buttery, flakyish fried pieces of dough and their richness is perfectly cut through by the salty, tangy proscuitto and sea salt on top. The proscuitto was ridiculously good, and the waiter mentioned it was the most expensive one they could get imported. -Egg Raviolo: 9/10 - Wow! When I cut into this huge raviolo it just started oozing with rich egg yolk. It was also chock full of delicious cheese and was swimming in a buttery, garlicky sauce. Absolutely delicious. My only notes are the richness could have been cut with some sort of citrusy or fresh herby addition. -Duck confit: 8/10 - The duck itself was so well cooked and the skin was intensely crispy yet not too fatty at all. I didn't love the squash puree but the sauce made up for it, as it was sweet, tangy, and delicious. -Chocolate Torte: 9.5/10 - A top tier dessert. The gelato was smooth and creamy, and the torte itself was so rich and fudgy. The chocolate flavor was beyond perfect and the contrast of temperatures was perfection. I also tried my boyfriend's mussel pasta and chicken Milanese. The pasta was average but the chicken Milanese was out of this world. So thin, crispy, citrusy, on a bed of beautiful broccolini and topped with capers. I did not expect such well executed and delicious plates, but Acero is a new favorite here.

Yelp
Everything here was so delicious. The wine selection is great, the foot is better, and the staff is very helpful! The scallops may be the best I've had and the mixed greens salad is very creative with the pistachios. The mushroom pasta was delicious and well presented. It's not too loud but the venue is lively. I highly recommend and is a new favorite for when I am visiting.

Yelp
Friend was in town so one of the girl made reservations at this local Italian place. They have a pre fix menu for $58 that includes 4 courses. The place is bigger than it looks since it fills to the back of the restaurant. It was crowded at 7. My friend had raved about their pre fix menu. I do think it is a great deal but I was not hungry so my friend and I shared pesce crudo and scallops as an entree. The two other girls got the pre fix menu. The pesce crudo was fresh, perfectly marinated, and just tasty. The scallops were so salty... I had to take off early so I didn't complain to the waiter,

Yelp
The food was amazing. We did the tasting menu and it was a good choice. I started with the gnocco frito which was like a beignet topped with prosciutto- it was as delicious as it sounds. Then I did the pici Cacio e Pepe for my primi. This was okay but not on par with everything else. I tried someone's at the table tagliatelle alla bolognese and it was so much better. For my secondi I did the trout and it was perfect. My dessert was the caramel pan a cotta. The service was good and the atmosphere very nice. I can't wait to go back again.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! The four course menu was fantastic and has something for everyone! The service was incredible! We never wanted for anything. Super nice atmosphere. Loved it!

Yelp
My current favorite restaurant in STL. So good I went twice in 5 days. The standouts are for sure their pastas and their fish entrees!! The egg raviolo, happy to report, is worth the hype. But all of their pastas are equally delicious depending on your personal taste and preference. But yeah, I was also blown away by their branzini and trout entrees. In the Midwest too - a sign of a great caliber restaurant. I've done the tasting menu each time and it's been a great time and portions are perfect (with room to take some leftovers home). Service is very friendly, patient, and accommodating. This restaurant can be for group dinners, date nights, business, and I can see this being family friendly as well - so versatile. It has been a few months since my last visit and I'm already inkling to come back by writing this review. Side story: we had the most accommodating and kind server who definitely elevated our meal and experience here. At the end, we were so oblivious that we were dining beyond their 10pm close time and not once did he mention it or even tried to rush us. When we finally paid the check and left, the entire restaurant (including all staff) was empty! In fact, the entire street was also empty. Like a zombie apocalypse had happened under our oblivion type of empty. When we got to the front door, the manager was there to greet us goodbye with a smile. So embarrassing on our part but grateful for the accommodation/hospitality.

Yelp
Been 3 times. Pricier, fancier place good for special occasions. But compared to other expensive places it is honestly better priced than most. Delicious food. Never had anything bad. Changing menu gives you new things to try. You can get Al la carte but I've always done the multi course meal. It's amazing.

Sneha G.

Yelp
Excellent food, service, and ambiance. Highly recommend the 4 course tasting menu -- cannot go wrong with any dish.

Yelp
Food was pricy but decent, but very unfortunate experience with the waiter when I he realized I had a gift card. (For a small amount of the total) I don't know if this is restaurant policy or just bad manners on your servers part but the tip line was aggressively crossed out to make sure I did not tip short because of the gift card. Considering the cost of the meal and how much I spent over the gift card amount I was offended. This is something I would have expected at Applebees..... Maybe I did not look like I could afford it to tip.... Either way I won't be back. Worth noting I sent a message to the restaurant and they read it but chose not to respond.

Yelp
We had a wonderful birthday dinner at Acero! The service was amazing!! So professional, quick, and efficient. We tried the chef's tasting menu which gave us a small portion from each of the 4 menu sections. It was perfect! The food was delicious and presented beautifully. We were seated in the back room which was appropriately lit, nicely decorated and very pleasant.

Yelp
We visited Acero for my partner's graduation from residency because we wanted to do something special and show his parents what a tasting menu was. We opted for the 4 course (though the 7 course one also sounds awesome). It was $58 plus some up-charges for certain items. The price was well worth it. Each course was amazing! I added morels to my pasta which was exciting because I've never had morels. It was so good. That was my favorite dish with the beet salad as a close second. The entree was good but I wish they had a vegetarian entree on the menu - we had a mixup because I had no idea that "brazino" was a type of fish and the menu didn't call it fish, it just listed the vegetables in the dish. I asked the server if there was any meat at all in it because I'm a vegetarian and he said no. I was super embarrassed when I received a plate with fish on it and had to send it back, but it didn't seem to be an issue because they came back with the same dish minus the fish part. It was a good dish, but definitely not the highlight of the meal like you'd expect of the entree. I'd like to see what the chef can do with a purposely all-vegetarian entree. I got the cannoli for dessert which was good but I would have liked more cold (it was room temp). Our server was very kind and enthusiastic. We enjoyed his service and assistance a lot. The ambiance inside is upscale, dimly lit with simple but very nice decor. We were a little dressed up and felt in-place.

Yelp
Amazing project on every front. Great drinks and wine, amazing food, incredible service, and the desserts are too fabulous to describe. Thank you thank you thank you! We will be back!

Yelp
This is one of the top dinner spots in STL. It delivers consistently high quality menu items along with an expansive wine selection. Mixed drinks like the Old Fashion are top drawer as well. Atmosphere is ideal for a relaxed dinner with conversation. Service is catered to your desired timing.

Yelp
This is a two-visit review. The first visit was AMAZING. Seriously, it was the best restaurant food we'd had in ages. We swore we'd come back many times. The second visit was for two birthdays, which they knew via the reservation. The primary reason for the 4 stars over 5 is the lack of "qualifiers" on the menu. We picked this restaurant for our birthdays because we wanted to experience the 7-course, chef-pick menu, which is one of our favorite ways to dine. Upon being seated, we immediately let the server know that we wanted the 7-course tasting menu. The server, the same one we had on our first visit, immediately stated that we couldn't have it because it is only offered after 7pm on the weekends. He then told us that he needed to turn the table over more quickly than the 7-course dinner would allow. 1) The menu doesn't state any restrictions on timing for the 7-course menu in any way, 2) The server has no business telling us that he needs to scoot us out the door quicker than the 7-course would allow. The server asked if we would be allowed the 7-course. The chef agreed. We had several wonderful dishes for the dinner (8 courses, not 7). Our favorites were the off-the-menu pieces, especially the tuna. The unknown of the dinner, simply being left in the hands of the chef, is one of the best ways to dine. If you haven't tied it, do - it's a great adventure at any restaurant. We were out the door in less than 2 hours, the time allowed for the regular dinner.

Yelp
We went to Acero for dinner last night and thoroughly enjoyed our food, service, and the whole experience! With both of us being first-timers here, we weren't too sure what to expect but by the time we left, we were SO happy that we went. We had reservations and our request to sit outside was accommodated with no problem. Got a few drinks to start and the Milan was a fantastically light cocktail that I really appreciated because whiskey cocktails don't always pair well with summer. However, this one did and I loved it. Next I got the roasted beet salad - the mixture of texture and flavors were perfect. The marcona almonds really make this salad special and also dang tasty. My dining buddy ordered the gnocco fritto and oh my goodness this was SO delicious. This dish was like having savory beignets and boy did it work well with the prosciutto and the dusting of sea salt on top. Finally, we split the linguini Nero and it was a good thing we split it because the portion sizes all around were pretty healthy! This was also a delicious dish not lacking in flavor, protein, and presentation. Exquisitely done! Our server was wonderful and this was a dinner to remember for sure. I would highly recommend Acero if you are looking to give your palate a joyful experience. I really loved this place and will likely be back for more!

Yelp
Tried out Acero last night to celebrate my mom's birthday with a small group of her friends. It's an assuming corner location in Maplewood, next to Schlafly. Nicely decorated inside without being over the top or too faux-italianate. I waffled a bit on going a la carte or with the 4 course tasting option, but after our server explained that the portions were smaller on the tasting menu, I decided I couldn't pass up the opportunity for the 4 course. The first standout for me was the zero proof elderberry spritz - it tasted like a delicious wine spritzer, but no alcohol, which this pregnant mama really appreciated. Everyone in our party of six ordered different options and passed around bites to taste, so I can honestly say everything was fantastic. I started off with the Gnocci Fritto, which was a perfect little fluffy pillow of dough dressed up with salted prosciutto. A lovely starter, and so nice of the staff to box up any extras after each course for you to take home. Second up was the pasta course - I had the taglioni, a thin pasta with wild mushrooms cut into chunks and slices that you could easily identify and appreciate the taste and texture, with a beautiful mushroom sauce and shallots. I inhaled this course, forgetting that it would be a great lunch. It was the highlight of dinner. By the time the third course rolled around, I was pretty full. But I thoroughly enjoyed the Chicken entree, nice and thin with a cheesy breading on a bed of yukon potatoes and broccolini. It leaned a bit toward the salty side, but otherwise was excellent. Once again, the staff immediately whisked away my half empty plate and boxed up the chicken to go. I finished up the meal with a basil coulis topped with sliced strawberries. It was a dense panna cotta style custard covered with a savory basil sauce and fresh strawberries. Excellent! I'd like to send another 5+ stars on top of the food and general table service to our server Zurn, who helped accommodate the needs of a table of six 80+ year old ladies. They aren't the easiest group to handle, and he did so with humor and charm. A couple of split checks on top of us all having separate checks can be a challenge, and he handled it so well.

Yelp
If I could give this 6 stars, I would. We saw Acero on the Post-Dispatch list of the best Italian restaurants and decided to go for my wife's birthday. From the focaccia at the beginning through all four tasting courses including (between the two of us), a butternut squash soup, gnocco fritto, egg raviolo, pici cacio e pepe, a porchetto entree, a beef tenderloin entree, a warm dark chocolate torte, and pumpkin cheesecake, everything was incredible. We will be back!

Yelp
This is an intimate classy restaurant with great service. Reservations is recommended and sometimes hard to get on short notice. The $50 4-course tasting menu is a great option, but you can also order ala carte. Love the complimentary bread served prior to the meal. Beet Salad $12 - Refreshing, great flavors. Spinach Egg Raviolo $29 - Interesting dish, one giant ravioli, as if a ravioli was an over easy egg as you cut into it. Tagliolini (wild mushroom) $24 - Simple but delicious. Acero Cheesecake $10 - Good dessert, topped with amarena cherries and syrup, and toasted pistachio. Closed on Sunday and Monday. .|\---/| | o_o | .\_^_/..2021

Yelp
Got a last minute reservation here for us and friends on a Friday night. We all opted for the tasting menu since it was our first time here which is a 4 course menu for $58+ (if you decided to get some options that have an extra cost). I appreciated them being up front about all the cost, such as adding on $x if you ordered something specific for a course. Most options on the tasting menu didn't have an added cost. I got the soup of the day which was a bell pepper and tomato soup which was great and perfect for the cold weather. My husband got the prosciutto and my friend got the tartare which were great as well. For the 2nd course we all tried different pastas. My husband got the egg ravioli which is unique and a must try. It is a giant ravioli which has a runny egg inside when you cut into it. I got the tagliolini which was great, flavorful, and light. For my entree I got the halibut which I recommend and my husband got the lamb which he loved. Both are worth the added cost. The desserts were all amazing- we tried the Panna cotta, cheesecake and torte and while you can't go wrong our waiter said the Panna cotta was the best and he wasn't wrong. Highly recommend the Panna cotta. Overall the tasting menu is worth it for your first time. For my next visit I will probably opt to order a la carte

Yelp
Acero is a quintessential, "traditional", Italian restaurant that offers amazing service and excellent food. They offer a $50 4 course tasting menu that is an outstanding value. Some of the options do require a small upcharge, but they are definitely worth it. Additionally, there is typically a wine special on a couple of bottles of wine. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate. Acero offers a front and back dining room and a few bar seats. Service is outstanding, with professional wait staff that knows how to take care of customers without being obtrusive. As great as everything else is, the food is the real star at Acero. On my last visit I enjoyed the beet salad, gnocchi, ribeye, and panna cotta. However everything is outstanding. And if you don't save room for that tasty dessert, they are happy to wrap it up to take home for later. Bottom line--you can't go wrong with a dinner at Acero. I highly recommend reservations!

Yelp
Wow. Was recommended to go here for a date night by two of my friends. After going, I will be recommending it to everyone for an upscale meal! We did the 4 course tasting menu for $58 and everything was delicious. I started with the shrimp bisque (soup of the day), then the tagliolini, halibut main, and acero cheesecake to finish. The only tiny drawback was everything I ate was super rich (other than the cheesecake which was surprisingly light) so I was feeling veryyy full after the meal. Likely could avoid this by starting with a salad like my boyfriend did. Service was great. Spent about 90 minutes there total but the time flew by--could easily spread dinner out over 2-3 hours here. Will definitely be going back!

Yelp
4 course tasting menu was phenomenal! Highly recommend. The service was great! Looking forward to returning for the 7 course tasting menu next month.

Yelp
Phenomenal elevated dining. Perfect for a special occasion. You can let them know ahead of time and they may just do a special menu for your occasion. The tasting menu is the only choice you need to make. Every dish is just so good. Recommend x1000

Yelp
Dynamite, seasonal and reasonably priced tasting menu in a cozy little joint. Parking is easy.

Yelp
What a lovely evening. The restaurant looks small from outside but has lots of room in the back. We did the 4 course dinner tasting menu (starters , pasta , entree and deserts) and had the most wonderful relaxed experience. Our server was attentive and friendly. The tasting menu came with half portions of food and was pretty flexible . We could include specials and some of the more expensive dishes with a small up charge . We were so full that we packed desert to eat later. It was lovely and quite a memorable evening. I am glad we went with friends and whose company we enjoyed because otherwise the dinner would have been really really long. Jokes apart it's a lovely place with great food !

Yelp
One of my favourite places to dine at in St. Louis- fancy enough but also family-oriented enough that our friends and I could bring our little ones. They have an amazing menu- 4 courses which you can pick your own specifics- all very delicious and rich in taste. Wine pairings also possible. Prices went up over the last year due to cost of ingredients but still definitely worth it. The salmon crostini is my go to appetizer. I always love their desserts. The staff all are extremely welcoming and friendly. The lamb is one of their best dishes. My favourite pasta is the tagliatelle. A little on the pricier side but worth every penny.

Yelp
Phenomenal service to accompany a phenomenal meal. The tasting menu is not only excellent in value, but the best way to try to their menu. This was the perfect date night spot. Authentic Italian food with locally sourced ingredients.

Yelp
We went for my mother's birthday and had an excellent time! The food was delicious, we got the 4 course tasting menu and were absolutely stuffed afterwards, and the service was lovely and attentive. They even left a card and put a candle on the dessert for my mom! She is also a pretty tough critic of food but she left the restaurant pleased, which says a lot. A great place to take family and for special occasions!

Yelp
I don't know how I didn't know about this place. It was delicious! The service was absolutely wonderful. What we ordered: Egg raviolo Tagliolini Trout Warm dark chocolate torte Panna Cotta To repeat what everyone else has said, the egg raviolo was so good. I LOVED the tagliolini. And the desserts were to die for. I absolutely love panna cotta. But the most amazing part was the service. It was an oddly cold day for May when we went, and it was freezing inside the restaurant. The waiter, I'm not even kidding, brought out a space heater and placed it next to me to warm me up. I mean, I've been to some extremely nice restaurants in my time, but I've never had a server do that. And I'll never forget it.

Yelp
Beginning with saying that this gem of a restaurant was absolutely fantastic would be an understatement and not do the quality of service and food justice. Everything our party of six enjoyed was exceptional. Jesse (our server) was dynamic. His recommendations for each course was on point. I was uniquely impressed by his ability to listen to my young son and determine exactly what he would enjoy was great. The five adults participated in the four course tasting menu, which was incredibly delectable. The vibe of the establishment was warm and welcoming. We will definitely return. Our compliments to this amazing team and outstanding kitchen staff. This place definitely gets it!

Yelp
Tldr; Bad service experience, great food. The kitchen did no wrong. Stopped in for quick trip into town and my boyfriend had been here before and loved his experience. Sad to say it was definitely not the same one. We had an 8pm dinner reservation, arrived at 7:53pm and were not able to place our food orders or get our initial cocktails until 8:28pm. When our server, Jerry, first stopped by to take our cocktail orders, we mentioned we were actually ready to place our orders. He pushed back, saying that there were certain ways to order, specifically a tasting menu, (which we already knew we wanted to do and told him that), and off-menu items that he wanted to talk through, and that he'll be back in a minute because he had so many orders to put in. Twenty-five minutes go by, and no cocktails and no orders had been taken. Once the first course was server, all the food came out promptly, brought mostly by other servers. We got almost no table touches until after we finished each course. I had no silverware after the starters for the pasta, and nobody stopped by to check on us. I ended up just using my boyfriend's appetizer fork. We weren't offered fresh ground black pepper, like other tables were for any course. For entrees, steak was supposed to be medium rare, it was not. Nobody checked in while we were eating, so guess that didn't matter. The other waiter who brought us our entrees saw that we had no silverware and brought some out promptly. I wish we had him for our service. The cherry on top was that I had asked for my three-bites eaten pasta to be packed to-go to save space for the entree course. My boyfriend had his three-bites eaten, not-medium-rare steak to-go and we asked for the desserts to go. They forgot to pack the pasta. Disappointing af for a supposedly nice dining experience. For a fair review, there were positives: 1. amazing wine list with everything sourced from Italy. We got the Casetta Barolo, and it was my boyfriend's favorite. 2. Nice buildout and decoration 3. Food was generally good. Highly recommend the trout, the mashed potatoes were top-notch. Ate that entree up, the quality of that made me less upset about the whole thing Would i come back or could i recommend this for my friends who visit STL? Nope. Go to The Tenderloin Room instead, I should have.

Yelp
A weeknight dinner for three recently. We all had the 4 course tasting menu and the flexibility within that structure allowed for 4 very different meals. Great food, attentive service, overall very nice experience for each of us.

Yelp
Had an awesome family dinner here! Waiter was exceptionally knowledgeable about wine selection, many different dinners were chosen from steak, chicken, pasta and sea food. Everything was perfect. Thanks for a great meal!
