Ach Aluinn Guest House

My teenage daughter and I stayed at Ach Aluinn for 4 nights in early July, at the end of our UK trip. The place and the hosts definitely lived up to their 5 star rating. Angus and Margaret are the perfect hosts, full of warmth and humor, very knowledgeable and helpful about the Highlands. The street is quite quiet and residential (although many of the residences have been turned into B&Bs), and an easy walk to the center of Inverness. Our room had a double and a twin bed. I didn't find it small for a B&B, and loved having the ensuite bathroom. The room was spotless, as was the rest of the house, and Margaret's breakfasts, cooked to order, are delicious! There's also a selection of cereals, yogurt, fruit, etc., perfect for a teenager who is not into cooked breakfast. We would definitely come back and stay here again.

Angus and Margaret were very welcoming and let us check in early, allowing us to go on a Loch Ness excursion. The room was small, but clean, and with a private bathroom. The hospitality tray was well stocked and toiletries provided. Wifi was good and could steam easily.||The bed was a little small for the two of us, but we are both quite tall. Shower was good, easy to programme temperature, pressure a little weak.||Margaret gave us recommendations for dinner in Inverness and also on local activities. It was easy to walk to town and it feels very safe. ||Breakfast was good. We enjoyed a fry up, cereals and fruit, although it would have been great to have the option to have breakfast later than eight thirty.||Overall, this place is great value for money and it was a pleasure to stay here.

We stayed at this lovely welcoming B&B during our short three day visit to Inverness. Margaret and Angus were wonderful hosts in their cosy home and they made our stay a very enjoyable one. Breakfasts are great with good quality produce. Location is good - a short walk from the centre.

Margaret and Angus made the visit to Scotland and Inverness so memorable. Their beautiful home and their warmth and welcoming smiles were amazing. The room was clean and beautifully decorated and breakfast was fantastic. Thank you both for your warmth and good humour. I hope to return to enjoy it again.

Our stay in this bed and breakfast was amazing, a real Scottish experience! The house is lovely, the bedroom was cosy and warm. The hosts are really friendly, welcoming and ready to help. The breakfast was offered with gluten-free option and served in a lovely dining room. I will definitely come back again!

Angus & Margaret MacDonald have a lovely B&B in Inverness, and are very welcoming Hosts, with delightful sense of humours. The room was clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped. Their breakfast room is delightful and the breakfast itself was yum. They are in a great location, just a short walk into Inverness town centre. Would highly recommend this B&B if visiting Inverness.

This is not just an excellent guest house. It is a warm, welcoming home. We had a beautiful room with private bath, and the breakfast was outstanding. Margaret is a great hostess, and we will remember her friendliness. If you are considering a stay here, do it soon. She plans to have surgery in December 2018 and may retire then. Stay there before it's too late.

This is the most charming B&B I have ever encountered. The owners, Angus and Margaret MacDonald, are delightful. Angus has a sharp (Scottish) sense of humour and Margaret is sweet as pie. There is wifi, breakfast, an en suite bathroom, and the location is superb. You can easily walk from the train/bus station. Breakfast is hearty and Scottish (egg, bacon, sausage, toast, fresh grapefruit juice, fruit salad, yogurt, meusli, and so on). Their home is your home. The rooms are immaculately clean and the sheets are amazing. The price is very reasonable and I could not have found a better place to call home in Inverness. 5-star reviews on Tripadvisor.
