This was such an excellent choice for us, booking the “sea view” room was a bonus. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff could not have been more friendly, helpful, professional or attentive to us, and to all guests I should add. Placed as it is in full frontal to the beach, sea and mountains, and only 4km from Keem beach and convenient to driving around the island , the hotel is absolutely the base to choose for your visit. The restaurant open only in the evening provided a varied menu ; being a pescatarian, the “catch of the day” was an exciting variation for me. Breakfast was similarly varied and the chef was always happy to accede to any requests.|This is a family run hotel, it has that feel and also that as a strength. The place was spotless, the rooms serviced every day, and the bed was so so comfortable.|We most highly recommend any visit to Achill should include a stay here. It also serves an excellent pint of Guinness as a bonus.|Thanks to all the staff, Kate and Theresa especially for making our stay such an enjoyable one.

What a treasure. Starting with a complimentary tea and biscuits on our arrival and onto the meals, this place is quality 100% . The staff are courteous and know how to treat guests right. The food is excellent, well prepared and presented. No cutting corners here. Everything about this place spells quality. The bed in our room was a double and a bit snug but very comfortable. My only teeny tiny reason for a teeny tiny whine was someone forgot to turn the heat on the first night. Once I whined about being chilly, this was rectified. Thanks for a marvelous stay on Achill. You're a national treasure and a fabulous representative for irish hospitality.

We were taken for an early evening meal at the Cliff House hotel by our hosts. Bright airy room with lovely views, friendly staff and a typical hotel menu featuring lots of local produce. Food quality was very good and portion sizes enormous. A very enjoyable experience and would certainly go again.

Ate here twice over the season and both times the food was excellent. Clean plates for all three courses and I was stuffed by dessert! Lovely service from really friendly staff. Beautiful location.

Reviewing the restaurant - best of local produce used! Had the salmon parcel for starter and lemon soul for main! The fish was delicious and so fresh!!! AMAZING! Really good service also! Shout out to the young chap learning the hospitality trade last night! Lovely drinks also and the view of the cliffs were to die for with the amazing blue sky! Great restaurant!

Stayed here over the weekend and would highly recommend. Staff are lovely & very friendly. Rooms are quite basic, but have everything that you need. Bed is large and very comfortable. We eat in the restaurant on the Friday and it was gorgeous, we wished we had eat there both nights. Steak & salmon were 10/10. Location is perfect, about a 2 minute drive to bars such as Amethyst & the Annexe and about a 10 min walk. Large car park also. Perfect spot if coming to Achill and price was quite reasonable, especially for the location. If you aren't staying here, I would highly recommend to pop in for your dinner reservation!

Called in by chance for dinner as our first choice was full. A friendly welcome, great views of the bay and lovely food, especially the scallops and sea bass main courses. Service was excellent. Overall a great evening and a place well worth a visit.

Good big size room, location is excellent as it is so close to Keel beach. Very close to bars, restaurants and coffee shops which was really good. |Dinner is the restaurant was nice.|We didn't have a sea view but were happy with the room as I heard someone with a room at the front say that they were woken by a car going over the cattle grid on the driveway next door.

Yelp
This review is for a restaurant that is part of a local hotel on Achill island. We booked in advance for 30 people and showed up with extra but the staff had no problem accommodating this. on arrival we waited in the reception of the hotel for a few minutes while they sorted out tables, we took this time to look over the menus and by the time we were all sat we pretty much knew what we wanted. we had three friendly waitress's serve us, they were efficient and had no problem making alterations to meals to suite a few different food allergies and a strict vegetarian. there was no delay with ordering or getting our food although there was a delay with the drinks at our table. otherwise the waitresses were great at their jobs. the food was very nice, very well presented, good portion control and very tasty. I had the Pollock which was so fresh and flavoursome. my waitress even pointed out the window to the sea a few meters away when I ordered and said 'it was caught right there this morning'. everyone at my table complimented their meal. all three types of fish, the beef, chicken, lamb and vegetarian option were all well received with no complaints that I heard of. our deserts were also loved! with plenty of options all of which were freshly home made. our only issue was when the bills came. they were very good to accommodate us by billing each of our three tables separately but on our table we were overcharged by quite a bit. on pointing it out they realised they hadn't cleared the bill from the meal before us on the till. but this was quickly rectified and overall we were so pleased that they got a very decent tip! I would highly recommend this restaurant to eat in you are ever visiting Achill Island.
