The location is good, close to Achmelvich beach which is really and indescribably beautiful beach for me personally. Now I understand why people say Scottish beaches are beautiful! The good part about the room that you can have some privacy by closing the curtains in front of your bed. The mattress was uncomfortable. But overall the hostel was good!

We actually went July 2022 but the date wouldn't change to that.|Staff were friendly and helpful. The room just as you would expect basic and somewhere to sleep. Showers and bathrooms in next corridor but always clean.|Beautiful views.|Right at the beach.

Lovely youth hostel. Friendly staff, nice clean rooms and a good, well-stocked kitchen. Also really nice how they had towels for us, never seen that before. Really close to the beach, and it has some spectacular sun sets, I highly recommend. The wee breakfast was amazing too, so all round, 5 stars. Would definitely go back!!

All was fabulous . Beautiful place, very clean and well maintained hostel with attentive, helpful staff. |We stayed in a twin room with shared bathroom and could not have wished for a better experience and would definitely recommend and want to return there. Kitchen was well equipped and well labelled.|Ben and Sally (staff) made our stay a breeze with their kindness and local knowledge.

I absolutely love this place. The hostel is located on a wee hill overlooking the bay and surrounded by lush green hills all around. Time disappears as you sit by the bay, or on the rocky green peninsula (as I did), watching the sun slowly set in the distance. The water in the bay is crystal clear, and the sand is so white. The common room is large and cozy, and the kitchen is well-stocked. There is a yard in front with benches where you can relax and listen to the neighboring sheep. The rooms are clean, and split with curtains and walls for every 2 bunk beds, which was nice. The gentleman that was working there was very friendly and helpful. This is the place to go if you want to get far away from the rest of the world and enjoy the quiet and peaceful beauty of rural Scotland.

This is as good as hostelling guests. Friendly welcome, comfortable dorm bunks with the bonus of privacy curtains, excellent showers, cleaned to a high standard, a warm spacious communal room - and in a beautiful remote part of Scotland where accommodation is scarce and expensive. Good sized family rooms also available and all reasonably priced - definitely one to recommend and return to visit!

My lovely wife and I spent four nights at this little hostel when bagging some nearby Corbetts. It's cool place to spend a few days. There are some private rooms but we booked at the last minute so ended up in an 8-bedded dorm. This was more private than you might expect as each set of bunkbeds is tucked away in their own corner and curtained off from the rest of the room. The kitchen is small but well equipped and the showers steaming hot. The staff are lovely and do their best to encourage guests to be eco-friendly. There are some nice touches like fresh eggs from the hostel's own chickens, herbs growing in the garden and an iPod for playing music in the kitchen. A big thumbs up to Jorine the hostel manager for making the place so welcoming & homely. The only downside is the lack of a drying room which is a must after a soggy day on the hills. That's the only thing stopping me from giving them 5 stars.
