Fantastic seafood with some of the best and most preferred oysters around! Our waitress, "Rachal," was an absolute gem! She was never asked for refills or anything else. She just delivered it to our tables beforehand! Impeccable server! The food was amazing, and we ordered more as time went on! There is plenty of seating to accommodate small or large parties that walk thru the door! Our food was served lightning fast! Beautiful food presentations and taste! We loved it! The parking lot was vast with plenty of parking for all! Clean inside and all around the business! The enjoyment of watching the food being prepared by the bar area was a treat to all! We loved this place! You have to try the grilled oysters!!!!

Very nice place. We went on a sunday at 3 pm. There was available tables The place Looks good to see games at the bar For the kids they give to them a sweet with games and crayons. We ordered limonades, beer, for the kids chicken tender with fries, gumbo, jambalaya, po bo of rostro beef and son fried fish. Everything was delicious. The people was nice and kind and the place was clean. I recommend here

Fantastic food as ALWAYS! CHARBOILED oysters were spot on. Fried shrimp were good and lots of 'em. Bloody Mary was excellent. Waitress was perfect.

Amazing food and the charbroiled oysters are so delicious 😋. The staff is super friendly. Wonderful family atmosphere. Highly recommend coming here if your ever in New Orleans LA. We will definitely be back.

Omar is simply the best waiter! We had friends come with us into town and they had a ton of questions. He was so excited to answer all their questions with a positive attitude. HIGHLY recommend coming in to see Omar and enjoy some INSANE food!

Their grilled oysters tastes like a salt bomb but cooked very well.. just wish they added less salt. Their crab sandwich was delicious.. and also their shrimp appetizer as well

It's one day before our cruise and my Niece recommended this restaurant and it's chargrilled oysters. So off we went with our party of 4. We were seated right away when we went in as the restaurant was not too busy at 2 pm on a weekday. Our server was pleasant and efficient and we were able to order our food right away. OMG! My Niece did not lie! The oysters were topped with this amazing herb butter sauce and cheese. It was outstanding and seasoned perfectly. The grilled shrimp was fresh and flavorful. Matter of fact all the dishes were amazing. From the po-boy sandwiches to the gumbo, simply delicious. I will definitely be visiting here again for those their amazing food.

Y'all may have heard how much I love this ACME location. No? Lemme tell ya! I've been coming here for over 20 years and have yet to have a bad experience. Heck, I've yet to have a mediocre or just ok experience! Most recently, some long-time friends and I came here for dinner and they were just as impressed as I, but maybe for different reasons. I'm telling you, I've had fried seafood at this restaurant probably 15 times and never once was it not perfect. Always hot and fresh, perfectly crispy, and never once has the oil tasted like it was anywhere close to needing a change. A good restaurant has good food, but great restaurants deliver good food every time - this ACME is a GREAT restaurant. We've come just for oysters, racking up an impressive 10 dozen on occasion, stopped in for a beer and some gumbo, or just came by to enjoy some fried shrimp on a Friday afternoon - every time I'm here, there's smiles, laughter, great smells and terrific food. If you're in from out of town and looking for some amazing food, let me recommend a dozen char-grilled oysters and a bowl of seafood gumbo. If you're hungry, holla for that captain's platter, you won't go away disappointed, but you will be oh-so-full. I know, "but Drago's has the best oysters!" Nope, these are better; more butter, less cheese = the best grilled oysters you're gonna find.

Came here for the first time and This place was packed on a Saturday night, parking wasn't hard to find and the staff were super professional! Shout out to my server CALI she was so great, accommodating, considerate and went the extra mile to make sure I enjoyed my food and time here! I had the chargrilled oysters and gator bites and a voodoo Mary it was all delicious! The ambiance was super New Orleans style also and all the people eating here were pleasant as well. There was a police guard at the door idk if that helped but I had a good time over all highly recommend!

Let's not sleep on Acme! My preferred location is on Veterans Avenue in Metairie. I often dine alone here but came for a business lunch and as always, love the service and food! I'm a foodie, so I'm picky. My oysters were perfect and delicious They were chargrilled just right, buttery, and the French bread was soft! This was the first time I tried the onion rings and I truly enjoyed how hot, fresh, and large! You definitely have to share this appetizer because the serving is huge and they are filling! I highly recommend you try them too

Gumbo was under seasoned and red beans were dry. But boy do they make a good poy boy and hush puppies. Which I tried from others plates. Chargrilled oysters are also wonderful. The service from the server Paris was excellent!!! Along with the front hosts great service. Ambiance was great and welcoming. Great for families.

Chargrilled oysters were on point!!! So worth the wait!! We sat at the bar and Mike, the bartender, was our server. After a week in NOLA, Mike was the best hospitality and best service we received in all of New Orleans, even better than the fancy 5 star restaurant we went to!! Service was friendly, attentive and FAST... the food was also fast and delicious!! The chargrilled oysters were the BEST, the shrimp was just ok but the fish was really good. Their seafood etouffe was also delicious!!

Raw seafood is not my thing, but give me a dozen Acme Chargrilled Oysters in Metairie, and I won't say a word for 15 minutes. Fifteen years later, it is still the best I've ever tasted. Entree: I ordered a 1/2 & 1/2 Shrimp & Fish platter to share this time. The food came out hot, in nice portions, and perfectly fried. Service was excellent, as usual. My family and I enjoyed our dining experience and, of course, will return soon.

My husband travels to Nola every quarter We had the best chargrilled oysters I've ever had, so juicy and flavorful. They were gone. Fore I thought about a pic. Service was awesome and quick. We will be back soon.

Easy walk from the Hampton where I picked up an order of jambalaya. The food was good. Friendly staff in the bar area took care of my order.

I haven't been to an Acme Oyster House in years, but those Chargrilled Oysters...why did I wait so long?! Delicious, with just a bit of that chargrilled flavor. The shrimp poboy was good, although fairly standard. I had mine with a cup of the seafood gumbo and that was a wonderful combo of flavors. Tasted exactly how a gumbo should taste. Our server was very nice, quick to check on us, but we also never felt pushed along.

These are the BEST oysters in town. The line is super long though. The next time I am in New Orleans I will not be trying them anywhere else.

Love love love this place, the wait was a little long but that's to be expected on a holiday weekend. I had a half dozen oysters with crawfish tails on top, a perfect patron margarita and a bowl of gumbo. I thought they would have to roll me out of the place. Everything was so delicious and fresh, you can't go wrong! It was packed and the restaurant was still clean and the staff was nice and gave us updates on our food.

So yesterday I visited again since my last review. Much better service I must say! The oysters were a nice size, the fried alligator was fresh and hot and not gamy! I happened to see a jar of pickled okra in the bar which is typically used in Bloody Mary drinks. I asked the bartender if I could have a free and she graciously obliged. The only complaint this visit is that the rest room needs a deep cleaning and frequent checks. It smelled like old rotten seafood and a cows pasturer all in one. There was urine in the floor and just was overall nasty! I went twice and each time there was someone else with their nose turned up and complaining about how nasty it was. It was worst than a gas station restroom.

Visiting New Orleans for my birthday and Mardi Gras & my sister recommended we go here. All I can say is BOMB! Everything was delicious! The crawfish dip was so cheesy. The grilled oysters were on point. Red beans & rice was thick how we like it & etoufee was excellent

Pulled up at 9:30 on a sunday night and got stopped in the parking lot saying we're sorry we're not seating anymore tonight!!!! At 9:30?! This is absolutely absurd. In Texas, They would neverrrrr close a huge establishment 30 minutes early just because employees would rather party. Never end the day short. Everything should run until closed and actually a little after.

Where do I even start !!! ACME OYSTER HOUSE HAS THE BEST OYSTERS IN NEW ORLEANS/METAIRIE !!!! Service is Always awesome ! Food is excellent definitely try the grilled oysters !!! Nice atmosphere also there's seats in the back by the windows that provide a nice view & there's the bar ! & the dining floor !

The oysters are really good really flavorful dip the bread in the sauce. The tartar sauce is really good!!! I like the way the waiter left for some time and gave me some time to enjoy myself.

Acme is my go to place when I want some quick chargrilled oysters. They are amazing. I usually go to sit at the bar and enjoy some oysters, a lemon drop and the red beans and rice meal. It simple hits every time! I always feel comfortable at the bar. The bartenders are always nice and accommodating and the food comes fast!

This place was so good! The charbroiled oysters were EVERYTHING! So good! Drinks were good too. I will definitely return if back in the area

First time coming here... this place gives a nice homey diner feel. our waitress was super cute she was very attentive and answered all our questions. She even made some really good suggestions. I live in Los Angeles but if I lived in NEW ORLEANS would definitely come back.

The line for this place was super long but I will preface it with it being the best oyster's I've had in NOLA! Came with my girlfriend at night. It was a roughly 45 minute wait to come to our turn. We had other oysters in the same night so it was good to compare them between eachother. We ordered the hurricane drink (not pictured because we destroyed it) and it was pretty good! I can't compare because we didn't have another one but I enjoyed the sweet taste. The oysters were *amazing*. Very nice sauce on them and their chargrilled were the best I had in NOLA while here. And I had a lot. That being said, it's only slightly better in my taste than the other ones I had- all of the chargrilled I had were excellent. But this one was more to my palate. Definitely stop by and give it a try!

Friday late lunch with Husband. Seated immediately and still plenty of tables available. Not a loud environment in spite of the sports games on all the TVs. Tables spaced so you're not on top of each other. Love the huge windows for added natural lighting. Jeannine G. greeted us promptly and took our drink orders. Husband's Acme Sunset ($7.25) hit the spot for him. I had the doz raw oysters ($21.99), asked for no cocktail or horseradish, just crackers and hot sauce, and that's what I got. (So glad; hate wasting food.) Oysters were huge and were easily scooped from shell. While I was eating mine, two more bags of oysters were delivered. Obviously doing some good business with them. Side of hush puppies (6-7) was YUMMY and quickly demolished. Husband's 10 Napkin Roast Beef Po-boy ($16.49) lived up to its name. It's not served with any sides, but that's fine; there's plenty of food. I had to try it - delicious gravy and tender meat, no cheese. Just loved Jeannine; she was around to the table probably every 4-5 min checking on us. Check out was quick and at the table. We'll be back.

Some of the best oysters in the city for sure. 10/10 for the oysters. I can't vouch for anything else on the menu although I've tried quite a bit like the gumbo, wings, & brownie sundae. Wouldn't recommend any of those, personally. Also not a fan of their drinks. But definitely go if you're looking for some good oysters. The ambience is also nice, very retro. Service is pretty good.

This place was so hyped up but kind of fell short on my list. I was expecting the food to be better. It was not bad but could definitely do better with taste and especially prices. Service was friendly and cool looking place tho :)

First stop with my trip to New Orleans. I was brought here as soon as I landed to try charbroiled oysters, and I have to say they were so delicious! We were sat right away as soon as we got there as it wasn't super busy, and we were a party of four. I tried and oyster shot for the first time as well, it was interesting. I enjoyed the shrimp, but I found them a little too salty. I think it's just a Cajun flavour that I'm not used to, not to say I didn't finish them. I definitely did.

Not shown: fresh oysters, boo fries, meat pies & New Orleans medley The best thing that we ordered was probably the meat pies!! The dipping sauce was so good & creamy and went very well with the savory meat pies! Everything else was okay - your usual fried food, nothing too special to rave about. One thing we all disliked was that the cocktail sauce was already mixed w horseradish. The horseradish was almost too much that it was overpowering and cleared up my nostrils! You couldn't even ask for just plain cocktail sauce for the shrimp!

Not fresh, salty , over rated. Maybe back in the day they were good but not today. Generic, mediocre.

We were a good size group of 7, six months ago. It was memorable because it was so busy. We knew there would be a wait. It was just difficult for a 12-year-old with an empty stomach. We waited an hour for our food. When it arrived, everything was prepared beautifully and it was all delicious. Everybody had a good time and enjoyed their food. We had the fries with roast beef, gumbo, roast beef poboy, fried catfish, oysters on the half shell, chargrilled oysters and fried oysters. We had a time finding our waitress in the big crowd because her tables were so spread out. I'm sure she gets over 10,000 steps in every time she works. Acme is good restaurant with a comfortable dining area. It's simple and uncomplicated. We like the old pictures on the wall.

Let's start with the service...1 Star. Food was 2 Stars. Trust me when I say this place is a tourist trap and don't waste your money. Find a place that is local spot that the locals go to. After all NOLA has a lot of them. The Hungry Hardhat has BLACK LISTED Acme for several reasons. So let it be written... So let it CLOSED!!

The service was okay. The Raw Oysters were good. The grilled oysters, not so much, unless you like to chase them with a spoonful of salt. They were way too salty. I also ordered a soft-shell crab platter. I asked if I could have it grilled. The waitress looked at me and told me a "firm" no. It was by far the worst-tasting softshell crabs ever!!! If you think I am exaggerating, go and spend your hard-earned $32 and try it for yourself. For me, this one is off of my list.

Acme treats you like you are family. From the moment I walked in I was immediately greeted and sat. My waitress was absolutely amazing and attentive even though she had a few large tables. My waitress continued to make rounds and check in on me. This place is very laid back with a decent sized drink menu. Very clean restaurant, and all the staff were pleasant. The food was absolutely amazing. The quality,temperature, and serving size were all spot on. The food is made to order and it's definitely made with LOVE! Acme will be one of my new go to spots. Try the fried alligator bites!!!

Food was great and service was excellent. There was a lot of patrons which I felt was a good sign as my friend and are from out of town and in New Orleans for work.

I ordered the Fish & Shrimp Platter, and the only thing good on the plate were the hush puppies and shrimp. The fish was rubbery swai, the sweet potato fries were undercooked, and the bartender did not know how to make any of the drinks on the menu at all. Drinks were served in the wrong cups also. I asked for a skinny margarita , the bartender didn't know. I asked for a regular margarita with less sugar, I got a a cup of syrup and tequila . I'm a cocktail girl and it's gotta be right or I will send it back and review it. This place has definitely gone downhill, and I will not be returning.

We stopped at Acme Oyster House for a quick,but nice meal after leaving New Orleans. I have to say,our experience was nothing short of amazing! Our waitress Destiny was a rockstar. She met us at the table as we sat and got our drink orders. Within 10 minutes we had our chargrilled oyster appetizer on table. The oysters were delicious!!! For our dishes,we had marinated shrimp platter and a the fried fish Pontchantrain. Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked. We will definitely be back!

Wow, I was very glad I got to try this restaurant! It has a cheerful / bustling vibe and shares a name with one of my go-to grocery stores up north. The char-grilled oysters were so delicious--the shell is like a cast iron and keeps them hot for a really long time, and it's fun to pick at the melted cheese with the tiny fork. They are very filling but worth it!! I had only had raw oysters before but think I like these more! I also tried the soft shell crab po boy with gumbo on the side (wanted to try all the classics while visiting!) They were both delicious. I wasn't sure how I felt about soft shell crab but wanted to try something new and was glad I did :) It was fried very nicely, and the soft shell didn't bother me as I thought it might. The gumbo was flavorful and homey--very good too. I'd get these dishes again if I came back! Might want to try a different po boy for variety, but definitely the char-grilled oysters!

Chargrilled oysters, drinks, & service always on point. Each bite is a perfect blend of flavors that leave you craving more. The freshness of the oysters is evident, and they are cooked to perfection every time.

This location is much better than the other. There was absolutely no wait here and our server was amazing. Gave helpful recommendations and super friendly. Also really fast service. We ordered a lot and everything came out so quick. Easily five stars, just for the chargrilled oysters. It was our first time trying and I'm still thinking about it.

The food is always great. I am never disappointed. The Chargrilled Oysters are so delicious and the Crawfish Etoufee is too.

My absolute favorite restaurant to get oysters. I love them charbroiled, well done, with extra cheese and it was perfectly cooked for me as always. The staff is friendly and they were super attentive.

So this is definitely one of my favorite seafood restaurants. Everything is always fresh and extremely delicious. The service here is always on point. Everyone is so pleasant and greets you when you walk in. Tables can be too close at times but if you are seated in the back of restaurant you may feel like you have more space.

We've been in the area four days. On day one we were told to try Acme for dinner, specifically for fresh raw oysters. We were warmly greeted by the hostesses and shown to our table. Our waiter Manny promptly took our drink and oyster order and gave us time to peruse the menu. The oysters were plump, cold and succulent. Our entrees, Etouffee and Gumbo were flavorful and satisfying. Manny was attentive and made us feel like regulars. We told him and the hostesses we would be back. We returned two nights later for dinner and again today for lunch. We started each meal with raw oysters and different entrees each visit. All were worthy of five stars. Although Manny didn't have a table available our second night he made sure to stop by our table a couple of times. Brianna was our server and she was just as attentive and personable as Manny. She was our server again today at lunch and again we were greeted like old friends. You must experience a meal here. There is no better food or staff in the greater New Orleans area.

I always enjoy the Acme Oyster house food In Metairie, La, when I'm in town to visit my parents and fam. In Slidell, LA. The service and ambiance is always gr8!! I love the Charbroiled Oysters, gumbo and the New Orleans banana bread pudding dessert & ice cream. Keep up the great work!

One of the better overall New Orlean's style food restaurants with a few locations. Consistent and good taste at a fair price. Best to eat at out of French Quarter restaurants to get more bang for your buck. The Roasted Oysters were very good.

Stopped at Acme Oyster House following the Endymion Mardi Gras parade. The parking is pretty difficult, as the parking lot out front is fairly small. If needed, you may want to park next door at Rouses and walk over. When we arrived we added our name to the wait list and were seated in about 30 minutes. I order the Killer Buzz cocktail (Sugar Island Rum with Hiram Walker Blue Curacao, Sierra Mist and pineapple juice) which was very smooth. We also shared a bowl of the seafood gumbo that had a nice level of spice and contained mainly shrimp. Also, if you come to Acme Oyster House you definitely need to order the Chargrilled Oysters. Oysters that are drenched in butter, garlic, and cheese are just out of this world good. For my entree I ordered the jambalaya that had some chicken and sausage mixed in. I would definitely recommend Acme Oyster House if you are looking for some good classic Cajun food.

First Time Upon Recommendation of this specific location. Casual, home town dining feel with friendly service. The food overall was really atmosphere that is a relaxed with some great tunes playing to enjoy with your meal. I love the chargrilled oysters! I'm new to this oyster movement, lol, so I eased into it with a 1/2 dozen. No regrets!! I unfortunately I wasn't in love with the gumbo. I felt it was only okay. I would definitely return upon my next visit to New Orleans.
