Detailed review: I read a lot of great things about this clinic on Reddit and booked an appointment. I needed a facial with deep pore extractions as I hadn’t been to a professional in over 2 (!!) years and my pores accumulated a lot of gunk. I arrived 10 minutes late, but Hannah was kind to fit me in. I loved that she took her time to address all of my concerns. I also love that she doesn’t sell any skincare products, so her advice on aftercare felt honest. I ended up paying $150 for the facial and $80 for microdermabrasion - which Hannah recommended for my skin type (without being pushy). After the treatment, I was offered 15 minutes on a massage chair, which was a great touch. The downtime for me was about 4-5 days. During that period, I skipped on my actives and applied Neosporin and a thick moisturizer, followed by Vaseline to recover. You have to use SPF at daytime as well! For menstruating ladies: extractions do hurt, especially if you have a lot of impurities. It’s better to plan your visit accordingly because skin can be more sensitive during that time. Overall, an incredible experience for the price! Hannah has a very calm and kind energy. Thank you! I’ll definitely be back in six months.❤️

I have been going here for more than two years and each time has been very good! Hannah always gets everything out and my skin looks so much better each time. When I started going here, my acne was bad but after going here my skin has improved a lot. I have gotten both face and back extractions and they are done very well each time. I come here around once a month and only trust Hannah with my acne extractions! Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a good and thorough extractions! My skin has been so much better since coming here!

I have been a loyal customer here for over a year, which makes this experience especially upsetting. During my most recent facial with extractions, I briefly checked my phone afterward and noticed what looked like a remaining extraction spot. I politely asked Hannah about it. Her reaction was immediately defensive and condescending — she rolled her eyes and told me she had already cleaned everything, that she trusted her own work, and that if I didn’t trust her, I could go to another esthetician. She even said that she might not be able to continue serving me in the future, simply because I asked a reasonable question. I stayed quiet and did not escalate the situation. Later, Hannah apologized and explained she had lost her temper due to menopause. While I understand personal challenges, they are not an excuse for unprofessional, dismissive, or intimidating behavior toward clients. As someone working in the service industry, Hannah’s attitude made me feel very uncomfortable, disrespected, and unwelcome. This experience completely broke my trust.

I’ve been going to Hannah for almost three years now, and my skin has completely transformed. When I first started, my skin was generally decent, but I constantly had pimples popping up in the same areas. Through Hannah, I learned that the “acne-fighting” products I was using were actually damaging my skin barrier, and the breakouts that kept recurring were infected. With every session, my skin improved more and more, and after just a few visits, the acne faded completely. Now I see her every other month to treat the occasional hormonal breakout that pops up. If you’ve never had extractions before, be prepared—they hurt (a lot!). I recommend avoiding appointments around your period. But the results truly speak for themselves. I found this place while suffering from constant acne and a congested face. After my first extraction, there were no new breakouts and my skin looked much clearer, especially with the use of acne cream alongside the treatment. Hannah was very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain my skin condition, skincare routine, how to properly care for my skin, and gave helpful recommendations. Overall, the experience was very comfortable, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is suffering from acne.

I’ve dealt with hormonal, cystic acne for the majority of my life and this is the best facial I’ve ever had. Hannah said “I’m not here to massage your face, I’m here to clean it.” And boy did she clean! The extractions are definitely painful but she is extremely thorough. I looked busted for 3-4 days but afterward my face was the smoothest and softest it’s been. I bought every product she recommended (all drugstore + Korean) and my skin is still so soft one month post. Could not recommend her enough.

Hannah has improved my skin in the matter of three months than any aesthetician in the city and I’ve tried many establishments such as Rescue Spa to Heyday. The facial by all means will not be relaxing as it is extraction heavy. Prepare for some painful moments when it comes to deep build up cysts. I did leave red and swollen and it was very visible where every extraction was, but that’s the point. Trust the process and follow her protocol and your skin will heal on its own in less than a week. I’m so glad to have found her and trust her with my sensitive, acne prone skin. I just wish I have discovered and gone to her sooner. Her studio itself is spacious, clean, and comfy and the added bonus is the location being super close to the train station. The facial with microdermabrasion( she will let you know if your skin needs that extra add-on) is the best!

I have been here for years. Everytime when season changes and I got many acnes that I couldn't handle I come here. She is the best, very professional and experienced, and you can be assured that your skin will be dealt in a capable hand.

Hannah was very knowledgeable and friendly. She quickly diagnosed the issues with my skin and explained possible remedies in depth. As another review said, she noted the price of the facial and microdermabrasion (which she'd suggested adding) before the treatment, so there were no surprises on the final bill. I also appreciate that she didn't try to push any products on me and instead recommended things you can find at a drugstore or derm's office. The treatment was very thorough. The extractions hurt but hey, what extractions wouldn't, so I didn't mind, even though Hannah was quite sweet and apologetic about the pain! This isn't a stereotypical luxury spa facial where someone offers you cucumber water and massages your face with scented creams; it's geared towards actual effectiveness. So don't schedule it right before an event, because the post-extraction redness and marks will take a few days to calm down. The space is no frills and very clean. The price is reasonable for NYC and first time customers get a huge discount off the cleansing facial.

I've been dealing with acne for quite some time and have noticed that one thing that really helps is having my pores cleaned. Something that not a lot of estheticians do. I was tired of paying hundreds of dollars for someone to essentially wash and massage my face but not thoroughly get to the root of the infection. Hannah went straight to the point and told me this is basically not a relaxing type of facial but one that cures the face. She started by deeply exfoliating the face to remove the dead skin and then did the extractions. The extractions HURT but it's the only way to ensure the breakouts dont return. You must get the blackhead out from the root and that's what she does. She explains your skin type and what's happening to your skin and what's the plan to get you to healthy skin. She also recommends products that she doesn't even sale which to me is a green flag. Hannah also ensures you know the price of things beforehand so you're not shocked at the end and get a change to agree or not. My face looks insane right how so I make sure to carry a reusable face mask when I'm in public because it looks like I got attacked by bees lol I can't wait to see what my skin will look like in the next 3-6 months.

Hannah is the acne slayer, and her lancet level is 100. Hannah would win the Olympics of lancetting pimples. All other facialists just get me annoyed now if they are not doing what Hannah does. Hannah is the master of making my skin look like I am on meds for acne. My skin is glowing for months after seeing her. She gets pimples/bumps that I didn't even know we're not fully extracted, but continue to recur until I go see her. She makes sure those suckers are gone for good. If you have tricky pimples that you're not sure how to extract, leave it to a professional like Hannah. Actually, there's no other professional like Hannah. Leave everything to her. People will ask what cleansers/lotions/acid your putting onto your face. I just tell people to go to Hannah. GO. NOW!!!

The extractions are PAINFUL.... But well worth it. I can clearly see a difference with my skin before and after. (If you have quite active acne, then it will take about a month to really see results. Besides this, Hannah is very professional and kind. It's a joy to see her any time I book an appointment!

Hannah is a miracle worker and I cannot recommend her enough. She is extremely knowledgeable--beyond the in-office treatment, she also crafted a brand new skincare routine for me. As someone who has had clear skin for most of my life, it's been a brutal few months having to deal with extreme breakouts. Hannah explained my skin type, the reason behind my breakouts, extracted EVERYTHING, and gave me specific instructions as to how I can completely clear up my skin. She's both honest and kind. Today is exactly one week after I saw Hannah for the stubborn acne on my forehead. I had been using tretinoin and salicylic acid for awhile but still getting red bumps and clogged pores some of which I could not resist trying to squeeze out and ended up making look worst. One day I just googled for a place that did extractions near me and by chance found this location. I'm glad I did! I asked for the Deep Pore Cleaning Facial which is as described on her website and also added a green tea mask afterwards. During treatment Hannah explained what she was doing, showed me the gunk she was removing and also gave suggestions on what to buy over the counter and when to use it. It was not painless but it was worth it. The mask afterwards felt really good too.. much more luxurious than sheet masks you use at home lol Oh, just know you might be a bit red a day or two after from the extractions. (which she warned me) and there could be a few little scabs. First morning was the worst and by day 3 barely noticeable. I attached photo for comparison. Very happy with my results. Thanks Hannah!

Hannah is seriously a miracle worker. I've dealt with moderate to sometimes severe hormonal acne for years-- when your skin doesn't feel good, YOU don't feel good. It had a profound impact on my confidence and mental health for quite some time. After trying everything, from derma prescriptions and every product you can think of, I decided to try a facial. These before and after photos are from three sessions. Hannah takes the time to explain the causes of acne infection and even gives you product / routine recommendations. After taking her product advice in addition to these sessions, I've never felt better. Cannot recommend Hannah enough for my acne-prone ladies and gents!!!

Hannah was really professional and kind throughout the entire experience and knew a lot about healthy skincare. I went in for a deep pore cleaning facial and a microdermabrasion and Hannah made the entire experience very comfortable and soothing. Today was my first ever appointment with Hannah. I initially came in for an extraction facial however, Hannah recommended I also do microdermabrasion. I've been looking for a facial spot where quality matters most, and I believe I have found it! Hannah takes her time with you from beginning to end, she is so caring and knowledgeable and not to mention sweet. She taught me so much in one visit that I wish I had known of her sooner. She caters to your specific skin type. She went above and beyond and even recommended products that I would say are very much affordable and wouldn't have tried on my own due to following the "hype" and what's currently "trending". Oh, and let's not forget that she gave me the BEST extraction I have ever received, she went all the way into my hairline! I've struggled so much with acne around that area and no place I went to helped with that. I know my skin will only get better from now on and that's all thanks to Hannah. I will definitely be coming back to her, she is my new facial go to! The place itself is also in a great location, near most trains and very easy to find. It has a cozy feel to it and I loved the music choice she was playing during the facial. 10/10 experience.

Hannah is absolutely amazing! I've been suffering from hormonal acne for about a year now, and it's been one of the most difficult things I've ever had to deal with. It's an absolute confidence killer. No matter what I did, I would keep getting this horrible cystic acne that would take forever to get rid of. Also, I have dark skin, and unfortunately for me, every single time I get a pimple, it leaves a new dark spot- whether I pop it or not. I didn't realize just how depressed this was all making me; I barely wanted to leave the house most days, and makeup only goes so far when you have textured bumps and super dark spots all over your face. I read the reviews and felt confident in booking an appointment with Hannah. I was coming from pretty far, and I was running about half an hour late. I called to let her know, and she was gracious enough to still see me. We went over my current skincare routine, she explained to me what I was actually doing to my skin, and she never judged. She got to work on the extractions and talked me through every step. She showed me what was coming out of my skin ( I couldn't believe what was coming out of there!), it was a bit painful at times, but she continually checked on me to make sure I was comfortable. She educated me the proper way to care for my skin post the facial and moving forward. When my facial was over, my husband was in amazement (so was I) when he saw my skin. It was instantly so much flatter and smoother, I couldn't believe it! It's been 4 days since the facial, and I have followed the regimen Hannah suggested. This is a team effort, and if we really want to see results quickly, we've gotta do our part! My skin is already healing beautifully, and for the first time in a long time, I know I'm on the road to clear skin. I've been to other places where I've gotten acne facials ( they've cost me substantially more as well) ,and they have been nothing like this. Hannah is here to get to the root of the acne, not just make you feel good during the facial. She's educated about her craft, she has tons of experience, and her works shows just that. I originally found Hannah via a groupon deal four months ago. I've had multiple facials done by a variety of aestheticians previously--and Hannah is by far the best. I'm so grateful to have finally found someone with her talent and skillset. She has repaired a lot of my 'damage' and my acne has improved immensely. My skin is baby soft and glowing after a couple days. She is honest and respectful with her methods and I enjoy how she explains what she is doing/what she is using during our appointment. Also, Hannah does not pressure you to purchase products compared to many other places. She provides knowledge and advice for ingredients to use and watch out for. It is a very clean space and has a calming atmosphere. Her playlist is definitely a plus. I know by being "under her hand" that my skin will stay healthy and clear. Thank you Hannah!

Hannah is a very good cosmetologist, as specially if you need a deep cleaning.I went to her two times already and was very happy with my facial , my skin is very clean and moisturizer after it. You can definitely see that she knows what she is doing and that she has a good experience . Highly recommend her .

Hannah is a true acne expert. This is definitely NOT a facial for anyone looking for a massage, relaxing experience, etc...this is an extraction-focused procedure for people who need blackheads/whiteheads/millia unclogged. My results with her are totally amazing. Night and day transformation in my skin that has lasted, and I only went for two appointments. During the appointment, Hannah also sits down with you and reviews every skincare product you use and suggests new ones to add in/ones to drop. This was not in an annoying, product-pushing way at all...she just genuinely knows what she's talking about. I decided to trust her and buy the two new products she recommended for me and I am so, so glad I did. I can confirm her extractions don't scar, though you will definitely have dots on your face for 4-5 days. If you have been struggling with the same bumps on your face that have not budged after weeks (closed comedones), this is the procedure for you. My advice is to take four ibuprofen before your appointment. It was honestly so painful for me...but so effective I was eager to go back for more!

Hannah was extremely rough with my skin. She did a microdermabrasion and she knew it was my first time. She burned 3 different places of my face which have now scabbed up and has left scars. She stated the first day the skin would be pink or reddish - but this will reside within one- two days. I would never recommend her to anyone- for a professional who just becomes familiar with a new face and new skin she was not gentle at all. If you are looking for high quality go somewhere else. In addition the office is extremely small- the walls are thin and it is hard to relax when you can hear everyone else's conversations. This woman must buy her reviews because she completely butchered my face. I left my appointment with my face bleeding and 4 days later I still look like I was in a car accident or something. She literally disfigured my face and made everything so much worse. First of all, the picture of the nice desk and lobby you see in the photo is NOT REAL. Her actual office is in a dingy midtown office building. Nothing but office carpet, a table and fluorescent lights. There's not even a sink in her "Institute". Hannah performed the entire facial out of a stainless steel bowl she filled up in the hallway bathroom. I can't believe I was stupid enough to go through with something that made me uncomfortable from the start. I still have small craters all over my face from her needling and I worry that they will scar. I haven't been able to go to work or see friends it's so bad. 4 days later my face is still BRIGHT red. Hannah could tell I was uncomfortable and she got very angry and indignant and pressured me to go through with the appointment anyway. I don't understand how she does this to people yet has all these reviews. It doesn't make sense. Something shady is going on. SHE is definitely very shady. Note: the office IS NOT WHAT'S IN THE PHOTO. She performed the entire facial out of a single bowl filled with water from the PUBLIC HALLWAY BATHROOM. During the procedure - A LOT OF BLOOD WAS INVOLVED. I have redness and holes all over my face now. Do not ever go here or trust this woman. She will scar your face. Please please do not make the same mistake I did.

Hannah is amazing. She not only did a great job at clearing up my skin, but also explained what was going on in my skin and recommending slight tweaks to the actives I had in my routine.The extractions were slightly painful (as all extractions tend to be) but Hannah really made a difference in putting me at ease. She also let me know about the entire process as well as explaining each step before she did them. After a few days, my face is completely clear. I used to have a bunch of CCs that just wouldn't come to a head no matter what I did. Hannah got them all and I couldn't be happier. One thing to note: the space is small, located within several offices. However, there is soothing music and a robe, and I ended up accidentally falling asleep anyways during the steaming process.

Hannah is a phenomenal esthetician who took the time to survey my skin and then explained everything she was doing and why. She doesn't sell products and doesn't give any added pressure before, during, or after your appointment; she does make great recommendations for products you can buy on your own time and use. As someone with pretty bad adult acne I've learned that the relaxing-massage facials are not what I need and thorough, professional extractions with great products are what work best. Hannah was meticulous in her extractions and I was so pleased in the days after when my face skin was even and clean! She takes special care in making sure nothing results in scarring, which makes a world of a difference for someone who scars easily. I would recommend Hannah to anyone looking for a professional, informative, and caring esthetician who is amazing at her job!

Let me diet say I am extremely picky with facials. I'm someone who spares no expense for this type of thing. I found Hannah by fluke and will not go elsewhere. I saw a bad review on here and it is because the people do not understand what she is doing or how. She uses a lancet to open the pore in order to get out the root is pimples. This way there is no scar or bump left after the pimple heals. In normal facials there should NEVER be marks left but this is not a typical facial where a pore is just squeezed. She knows what she is doing and I totally trust her. See for yourself but she knows what's up and is so worth it. Also not badly priced!

If you have severe acnes, I strongly recommend visit Hannah for a session. First of all, she will clear all acnes and bring back a healthy skin, on top of that is your confidence. Moreover, she is able to convey all aspects relating to acne causes and consequenses. She also helps you with choices of skincare products and routines which are suitable for your condition. I would rate her acne care 10/10 for effectiveness.

Yes the extractions are painful, and not everyone will be ok with being red for a while (a few days), but I definitely did notice a difference after getting my first facial with Hannah. I was having a lot of breakouts prior to seeing her and my skin was clearer for the month afterward. She's recently moved into a new office so maybe the pictures are not super up to date. Her office is clean, simple and neat--more about functionality than cuteness. In between clients she washes her bowl and disinfects it with an alcohol spray. She takes measures to keep clean during extractions and gives instructions on keeping your face clean afterwards. Hannah specializes in extractions (going DEEP), so she might not be for people who are looking for a relaxing facial/ambience/nice-smelling oils. You can also tell her if you're uncomfortable with going forward with a treatment. If you have any concerns please email her ahead of the facial with questions.

Hannah has helped my skin so so much. I have done two rounds of accutane and still did not have clear skin Until I started coming to her. I have gone to many estheticians and I have never been to an esthetician that has done extractions the way she does and while it can be a little painful it is so worth it. I trust her so much because she tells me when I actually don't need certain treatments. Also she recommends amazing products and a skincare routine that have helped so much and helped me rather than react to my acne but act proactively to get ahead of it! I was going every month for the first three months and now I only need to once every two to three months. I used to have cystic acne a lot around my neck and jawline and clogged pores on the rest of my face and It has been almost a year now and my skin is completely changed. My skin is always legit glowing after a facial with her ! Also she makes sure you are comfortable and the extractions are not too painful throughout the entire process. Could not recommend more.

Hannah is incredible. She really knows her stuff! She has transformed my skin completely. I had cystic acne and rosacea and am highly sensitive to literally EVERYTHING. Hannah was honest enough to tell me that my skin was in no condition to go through with microdermabrasion the first time I went to see her. This really gave me a great first impression because she basically was honest enough to put my skin's health first before making a profit or even trying to sell me onon something i did not need or could tolerate. The second time around she said microdermabrasion would be fine and my skin has seriously never looked so good as when I let her care for it. Please come see her just once and see for yourself. You will keep coming back to her forever!

Hannah is an amazing aesthetician who is not only beautiful from the outside but she has a heart of gold as well. My review is based on a Groupon purchased for a 1 hour deep pore cleansing facial (tax not included). Booking an appointment: I emailed Hannah for availability and she got back to me that same day. Getting there: The building is still quite new and I got lost finding the entrance due to construction. Note the entrance is on 45th St and not 5th Ave! Take the elevator to the 8th Floor. Make sure to wait in the receptionist area instead of looking for her studio. She will come out and greet you. Overall experience: Hannah will ask you to fill out some preliminary questions about your skin so she has a general idea before starting the treatment. Once she examines your skin's condition, she begins the treatment and explains the tools and steps she will be using. I find this very reassuring especially for first-time customers like myself. We chatted for a bit and it felt like I was talking with a friend rather than "doctor." The facial itself was painful (not going to lie) but I expected that since I had a lot of hormonal breakouts and old deposits from not getting a facial for 2-3 years. After it was done, she warned me that my skin would be red for 4 days and she was right! To help the healing process, I ditched makeup for the entire week after except sunscreen. I took her advice and also stopped using a lot of products I thought were good for my skin but ending up being most harmful and can say with confidence that my skin has NEVER glowed like this before! I am a very happy customer who will be back whether there's another Groupon or not :)

Hannah is amazing! super professional. knows EXACTLY what she's doing. my skin is much better since I got my extraction facial. it is a bit uncomfortable since she's deep cleaning your pores but not unbearable at all. the scabbing went away after a couple days and honestly my skin so much healthier now. I wanted to wait to leave this review to see the real results. I got my facial a month ago. highly recommend!

Hannah is absolutely amazing!!! The first time I went I couldn't believe my eyes after all the redness went away - my skin never looked so perfect and smooth. For a very long time I was struggling with imperfections, visited many places but nothing seemed to help- and now I'm so happy I found Hannah - I go religiously every few months and my skin looks amazing. After all the masks that she applies I can even go out the same night after facial and I don't have to sit at home for a week waiting for my face to look normal so people in public wouldn't get scared. I decided to give Hannah a try after seeing a significant improvement on a friend's face. I had to ask my friend what she did with her skin to make it look like the way it did. She went to Hannah twice and there was already a drastic change. She knows how to target acne and pores and honest about any recommendations she gives. Her method is very simple but wait until you see the results. It's always important to take care of your skin after for it to go a long way of maintaining or improving your skin. I had a treatment with Hannah (deep pore cleaning facial) with microdermabrasion. Hannah was extremely thorough in cleaning out my congested pores and took time to explain the different issues with my skin and advises on how to combat them. The microdermabrasion was very light like a buff to my skin to reveal fresh skin so she could perform the deep pore cleaning facial. Right after the extraction and facial, I was a bit shocked at the result (my skin was very red and irritated). She told me that was to be expected before I did my treatment. Three days later, my skin has mostly healed and the skin has shed, I am truly IMPRESSED with the results!!! My skin is so much more even in texture and color. She also advised a serum to fade some of the scars which I purchased from her and it is an amazing product and definitely improving my results! I highly recommend Hannah and will be visiting her again.

I've struggled with skin care for a long time. I've had adult acne for a few years now but I also have sensitive skin so I've never really had any product work that well without burning my skin. I've also had a lot of experience getting facials and extractions done but nothing has ever worked the way Hannah's acne treatments do. I've been going to her routinely for a little over 8 months and now I don't even need the acne treatments and can just get regular facials! It's a very visible difference when I look back at photos of me throughout this time. She has a really good eye for spotting trouble areas and figuring out how to fix them. Her extractions are deep (and can be painful) if you have bad acne/blemishes like I did but they really are worth how clear your skin is a week after and the results really last. She really knows what she's doing! I really appreciate that I can trust her in her product recommendations, daily skincare regimen suggestions, and how often you need to come back. Every time she will ask how I've been taking care of my skin and let me know if I need to increase or decrease the frequency of certain products. She will always make the effort to explain what she is doing at every step and explain to you why your skin will react a certain way in response to products and from my experience so far she's been right every time. My skin is not only clear now, but looks a lot healthier and no longer is oily in some areas, dry in others. Hannah is simply the best.

Purchased a Groupon in August to try this proprietor, after my regular esthetician broke her wrist, after an exchange of several emails with Hannah, I received an appointment for 9/19/18 (5:00 PM), Hannah emails on 9/14/18 that she needs a credit card to hold the appointment??. Provided her the voucher #, Hannah confirms again. On 9/17/18 Hannah emails me saying she has an medical emergency, and to make another appointment, a complete waste of my time, Hannah left me with the strong impression that she didn't want my business. Puzzled, but I'm clear that I don't want to patronize establishments such as this.

My second time with Hannah! I am very very pleased with the results. My acne has gone down immensely after my first facial and using the products she suggested. Everything was very hygienic and although my face was super red, it went away after a few days. I will definitely be coming back!

I am so happy I came across Hannah while suddenly experiencing adult/hormonal acne that was consistent. I was searching for an esthetician who specifically specializes in acne and finally found one. If you have acne, look no further, Hannah is the esthetician you need to see! I have gone to other esthetician's in the past, and while the experiences I've had were not terrible, they weren't making a substantial difference in my skin at all. After my first visit with Hannah my skin progressively got better and better as days and weeks went by. I had a ton of texture that I no longer have which was a huge deal for me. I just had my second visit and I'm already looking forward to my next, thank you Hannah! *Disclaimer: Considering Hannah is an acne specialist, there is a lot of extractions and deep pore cleansing involved in her treatments. If your skin is anything like mine, you will experience redness and inflammation for about 4 days which is normal for this type of facial. Also, Hannah let's you know exactly what she does and exactly what to expect before she does anything so you are well aware. If you are unable to commit to having downtime for your face to heal, I recommend letting her know and I'm sure she will find a way to accommodate your specific needs.
