I'll start with the positives in that the staff are wonderful, attentive and caring. The location is great and if you are staying over the weekend, parking on the street opposite is free. The decor is very rustic and if you like that sort of thing then thats also great. Unfortunately though the negatives outweighed the positives for me.
When I arrived to my room, I went to use the toilet and the door handle came off as it was not connected to the door, I then went to charge my devices, and found that one of the screws was removed from the bedside charging port and it was partially disconnected from the wall, also generally the room wasnt that clean, dust and little bits of grit on the floor. The bathroom was very well cleaned though. While it seems like a small thing I was also a little disappointed there were no teabags for a morning drink, however coffee and hot chocolate were available. I told the receptionist who was very helpful, and I was upgraded into a double bed room.
This room while it had a double bed was actually smaller and the bathroom wasnt as nice. In this room as well as the previous room, all the light fittings were wonky on the walls, the desk-front was delaminated and was about as dusty as the previous room. Although I did have teabags this time!
Overall, the stay was pleasant enough, the bed was comfortable and as a room to sleep in it is definitely functional, but I feel like these things are easily fixed and the attention to detail would make this an easy 5 stars.
I will also add the breakfast was very reasonably priced and very good.
