A unique place for its setting, but truly beautiful. We ate with other people. The service was excellent. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and even speaks Italian. I personally had the paccheri with eggplant. The pasta was very good, and the eggplant was cooked perfectly. Other friends had the sea bass baked in foil with baked potatoes. Highly recommended.

Nice restaurant close the the station with outside seating away from cars. The food was Italian with a twist. The starter (sweetbread) came with some tough brown crackers which didn’t taste very nice and were a bit tough. The octopus for the main was nice but the portion of rice was a bit missing flavour. Service was friendly, atmosphere was relaxed

Amazing service, friendly, good recommendations, always checking if we needed anything. Octopus antipasto was amazing, the sea bass main dish was food but lack a bit of more flavour. It was also very small.

I visited this wonderful place last year. I recommend coming in the dusk/evening as the place is beautifully set out and atmospherically lit. The food was fantastic; I had scallops that were cooked to perfection, then rabbit, which was melt in the mouth. I can't recall the wine we selected but it was excellent. If anything, it's a little bit pricey, but it's a wonderful place to go for a romantic meal or special occasion.

Amazing food, very friendly and smiley stuff, speaking italian for fun with us and I loved it. But the food was amazing. Oh, I already said that 😉 interesting interior and lovely lovely garden, hope that life brings me back here!

We came here on our last night in Basel for our anniversary. Really great atmosphere, they sat us next to the fireplace (very romantic). The staff were great , food awesome! We had a great night that we will not soon forget! Thanks Acqua

Although I only sat at the lounge and didn't try any food here but I absolutely adore the ambiance!!! Situated inside the old industrial building, the interior designer did a great job integrating rustic beauty of the brick walls, opulent chandeliers, and slick modern furnitures to create a posh and romantic space. It's quite shi-shi & frou frou, I love it!! The decor deserves 5-stars, it's worth visiting if you are in Basel. It's an ideal place for a romantic date, you will definitely impress your BF/GF. I hope to return there to try food one day!

Very nice and very well decorated place. Very good service and food. I was very happy with everything until we wanted to pay with our cards as the credit card machine did not work. But the manager handled it very well and sent us the bill instead. Great place. You should make a reservation

Trendy place, where the people in Basel meet. Restaurant, Bar and lounge. Italian food, excellent quality, small but good choise. Nice wine italian selection. Thursdays "the place to be in Basel" having a radio program live. "Living room FM". One of the must have seen places in Basel. Park at the Zoo parking or take the Tram. Book a table in advance or else you will have no place. After dinner: There is a night club just beside the Aqua called Annex. Different electrosounds depending on the day. 50mt away is one of the most traditional places in Basel for music and dance called "Die Kuppel". Different music (from house to salsa) depending on the day. Good for jeans os suits. "Legére" atmosphere.

A cool restaurant and bar at a great space. One of the best social venues in Basel. The drinks are good, the food varies. The Italian-inspired menu is creative, but the execution can be unpredictable. Sometimes it's great, other times you'll wonder what the fuss us about! A 'see and be seen' place so don't go there if you are looking for a quiet romantic place for a date! Look good and you'll feel like a million bucks.

Tried this place for the first time tonight and I think it's a definite five star experience. It's an old industrial building, touched up really nicely to create a fun and very cool ambiance. There is an open kitchen and nice lounge furniture. The food is great, I had the prosciutto appetizer (excellent meat quality), the veal with mushrooms (delicious sauce), and parfait dessert. All were excellent, perfectly seasoned, perfect size, and very high quality of ingredients. The house red wine was 2005 Oronero from Sicily (Cabernet/Merlot), way above what you normally get in a restaurant at that price point (CHF 9). The place is really difficult to find (under a bridge) and the restroom resembles a little too much the past industrial building era rather than a fine restaurant. But add it all together, it's still a highly recommended restaurant.

The ambiance is very nice for happy hour. The food is good, very little portions and is overpriced. I would recommend to go for just a drink, the food is better elsewhere.

Good location and small but well selected menu. The venue is hip and this place is an ideal restaurant if you want to have a good dinner and some drinks after that. In general the service is friendly although slightly slow and 'chaotic'. The menu changes often and the wine list is good.

uniquely fun place for basel. entertaining interior, pretty good food, if you want something more than the usual restrained swiss approach to restaurants, then in basel, this is best choice! great place to take foreign guests.
