My Fiance and I went there for dinner and had an amazing time! Neither of us had been before. Our waitress Sky was so kind and attentive, and once the staff found out we were celebrating our engagement they helped us celebrate to the max. We got fried green tomatoes for our appetizer and that was delicious. Our entrees were the strip sirloin and Duck breast and both us of wanted more after eating it. Then we decided to splurge and get the dessert board and coffee and WOW. Every dessert on there was amazing. They also slipped in an extra dessert on there for us since we were celebrating. Overall everyone was so incredibly kind and welcoming from the valet, to the hostesses, our waitress, and the rest of the staff. It was such a sweet way for us to celebrate!

Google
I do not normally start a review about food with the bread that comes first before your entree. But...the sour dough bread, heavily buttered, is placed on their hickory smoked grill and that extra flavoring kicks the taste up to the next level! I believe I could have ordered more bread and just ate that alone for an entire meal. However, we did order scallops and the duck breast which were cooked to perfection in their own special way. The online menu better describes the additional ingredients than I could do but the meal was very sumptuous.

Great experience overall. The appetizer (a seafood option—I forget the name) was packed with flavor and a strong start to the meal. The strawberry salad was also fantastic. I had the tenderloin for my entrée, and it was cooked perfectly—very tender and flavorful, though it could’ve used just a touch more salt. Still, excellent overall. For dessert, I had a sampler with cake, brownie, and peanut butter cake. The regular cake was my favorite; the others were good but just not my personal taste. Service was friendly and attentive throughout. My whiskey cocktail was just okay—nothing special, but acceptable. The location is beautiful with a great vibe inside and on the patio. Definitely worth a visit.

Google
The atmosphere was great, and the service was excellent. The fried green tomato appetizer with crab was a standout, and the shrimp rigatoni was delicious. The duck entrée didn’t quite hit the mark for me, but overall, a great experience — I’ll definitely be back.

My wife and I went here with reservations for our wedding anniversary. It’s a quaint little place and reminds you a bit of a lodge with farmhouse vibes. When we got there they had complimentary valet parking though we did tip the parking attendant as we left. The staff was friendly and did check on us regularly throughout our meal. The menu at this restaurant does change with season. On this night I went with the New York Strip with cowboy butter, crispy shallots and oven roasted carrots. It was at least 39 minutes after we ordered before our food hit the table. The steak was tasty with the cowboy butter but was a little overcooked to my order. I had asked for medium but it was more like medium well and on the edges it was well done. The carrots had a good flavor but were a little more al dente than I prefer. At $53, I was hoping for more options for choice of sides and more than just one. I didn’t ask if there was a choice so there may have been but the menu seemed to be set for each dish. We did have a Caesar salad prior to dinner which was good but the croutons were very hard and tough to chew into without fear of breaking a crown. My wife went with the Gulf Flounder Picatta. The fish was a nice size piece of fish. The crust though was a bit bland and the caper butter sauce was ok. My wife did swap out her sweet potato puree with regular mashed potatoes. They were ok as well but nothing special. My wife did order an extra side of braised collard greens with hearth smoked bacon. The greens were good with a little spicy kick. We only had water for drinks and our bill with tax and tips totaled out at $135. It was a special occasion so I was fine with it though it may be considered pretty pricey for just a regular sit down meal. We would go here again but would probably look closer at the menu since it does change to help us make the decision if we would return.

Google
Hosted a special Wedding Day Brunch for 15 people and thanks to the amazing Acre staff our daughter and son in law had a memory-making event. The food was exceptional ( I will be craving that pimento cheese and meatloaf!) and the caring service was top-notch. This is the place to go in Auburn to create lasting memories.

Google
We are from out of town and this place met all of the checkboxes. The cornbread and bread pudding is a must try, but literally everything on the menu was incredible. Our server was so attentive and gave amazing recommendations. I wish we had this restaurant back home. We had the cobia, duck, beef tenderloin, and red fish for entrees.

Google
Acre in Auburn exceeded all expectations during our visit. Cody, our bartender and server, delivered exceptional service throughout the night. His knowledge of the menu and attention to detail made our dining experience unforgettable. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and every dish was perfectly prepared and flavorful. From start to finish, Cody’s professionalism and friendly demeanor truly stood out. We highly recommend Acre and will definitely return for another outstanding meal. Five stars all the way!

Yelp
Our evening began on a high note, thanks to our exceptional waitress. Her warm demeanor and extensive knowledge of the menu immediately put us at ease. We were particularly impressed when she shared a fascinating backstory about the chef, revealing his notable appearance on Iron Chef. This personal touch only added to our excitement and anticipation for the meal to come. We kicked off our dining experience with two appetizers: the beef tartare and the "chicken fried" bacon strips. Both dishes exceeded our expectations, with the tartare boasting rich, savory flavors and the bacon strips striking the perfect balance between sweet and smoky. My partner and I were so enamored with these flavors , savoring every last bite. For "SUPPER" my fiancé and I decided to share two delightful dishes. We started with the Redfish on the Half Shell, which was cooked to perfection and boasted an impressive flavor profile. The fish was tender, flaky, and simply melted in our mouths. We paired it with the Strawberry and Walnut Salad, a refreshing and sweet combination that complemented the savory fish beautifully. The crunch of the walnuts and the juiciness of the strawberries added a delightful textural element to the dish. To accompany our meal, my fiancé opted for a glass of Elijah Craig, a rich and full-bodied bourbon that paired nicely with the bold flavors of the redfish. I, on the other hand, chose a Bloody Mary (one of the best i've ever had) which provided a spicy and tangy contrast to the sweetness of the strawberry salad. The drink's savory flavors also complemented the fish nicely, making it a great choice for the meal. To finish off our delightful supper, we indulged in the Heather's Chocolate Whiskey Stout Cake, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. The rich, sweet flavors of the icing was perfectly balanced by the deep, dark flavors of the stout chocolate cake, But what truly set this dessert apart was the subtle yet unmistakable hint of bourbon that lingered on our palates long after the last bite. It was as if the bourbon had infused itself into the very essence of the cake, adding a depth and complexity that elevated the entire dessert to new heights) The combination of the bold, dark flavors and the subtle bourbon notes created a truly unforgettable taste experience. It was the perfect way to round off our meal, leaving us feeling satisfied, content, and already looking forward to our next visit!

Yelp
Best meal I've had in a month. Great ambience, terrific service, very clean. Some top level steak tartare. Really delightful redfish. Would visit very often if I lived in town. The bar was a great way to get in quickly and then get out again and back on the interstate, very convenient if you dont have an hour to kill.

Jill L.

Yelp
Always love going to Acre for a special occasion. It may be a bit expensive but it's well worth it. Thanks for taking such supreme care of your patrons!!

E B.

Yelp
Salad & entree were very tasty. Dessert was slow arriving & so-so. Even though we went early, service was a little slow. Sitting by the bar made it a bit loud.

Sam M.

Yelp
Came here for a large group reservation and they were very accommodating and service was good. Menu was great, and everything was tasty. Unfortunately our multiple fish orders were not all the same size and required a refry, which was handled well. Definitely would come back here with a group again!

Kiki H.

Yelp
This was my favorite meal on my trip to Atlanta and Auburn. Our server was so friendly and helpful. She knew the menu very well and ultimately changed our minds on our entree selection (which was the right call!) My cucumber margarita was really good. Refreshing, well executed and balanced. Needed a bit more tequila for me (I'm from So Cal and I like my margs STRONG). My husband started with a Caesar salad. Big portion and he loved it. I had to try the fried green tomatoes. They were so amazing! I loved the pimento cheese that came with it. This was my first time trying pimento cheese so I have nothing to compare it to but I LOVED Acres version of it! My husband had the redfish on the half shell which he enjoyed. I had the gulf cobia, a fish I've never even heard of before, and it wad amazing! Maybe one of the best fish dishes I've ever had. For dessert we shared the peanut butter pie and OMG this dessert was IT. Amazing spectacular give me fourteen of them right now. The pie was perfect! The torched banana meringue is really what sealed the deal for me. Our whole meal was very fresh and very delicious as expected for a farm to table restaurant. The portions are great and the pricing is more than fair. Definitely make a reservation especially for dinner on a weekend. We saw tons of people getting turned away while we were there. This is THE place to eat in auburn. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
Good, but I was still a bit underwhelmed. I had high hopes for this place, given that I had been driving by it since it opened up when I was in college, but never got a chance to try it. I ordered the boudin balls, summer chicken orecchiette, and fried ocre. The boudin balls were the best part of the meal. They were filled with beef brisket from what I could tell, and the spicy mustard and pickles were excellent complements. The orecchiette was great - creamy, soft, and well-garnished. I also really enjoyed the ancho chili-honey sauce - that was a unique combination of sweet and spicy. The okra was good, nothing to rave about though. The reason I was underwhelmed was because the chicken was underwhelming. As the center piece of the entree and meal, I expected it to be the best part, but it took a back seat to the sauce and pasta. It just seemed too plain to be paired with such a creative sauce and fine pasta. I would recommend a braised half chicken or roasted cornish hen - something that stands out. All in all, a good farm to table meal with some creative and tasty elements. I just wished the chicken matched the level of everything else.

Yelp
Open on Mondays! I sat at the bar, which was nice. Attentive staff. Looked like people were there on dates or with family/friend get togethers. Food was tasty and plentiful.

Brice G.

Yelp
We were in town for bid day and excited to try Acre, as it was the first time we have been able to get a reservation. This is my first ever review on yelp. I travel 30 weeks a year. Maybe the ambience, bar, drinks, all gave us false hopes. Being seated with a reservation, the fried okra app was by far the best dish of the night. My wife got the Whole Pompano, it was decent but the sides left much to be desired. I got the Redfish, it was a generous size piece of fish, but the seasoning on top was horrendous. It was like they dumped a whole bottle of blackened seasoning on top. The crispy potatoes came out luke warm, like they had been sitting under a heating lamp for 2 hours. Maybe we caught Acre on the back end of a busy weekend. Very disappointed dishes for $40.

Steve B.

Yelp
First of all, I what a really cool vibe you get at this restaurant. The place just looks awesome. I ate at the bar because I was traveling by myself and had really great service. For my appetizer I ordered the "Gas Station" Boudin Balls. They come with a mustard based sauce and house made bread and butter pickles. Don't think your normal Louisiana type boudin balls. Those have been kicked up in a huge way, and they were fresh and hot. If you have ever read my reviews, hit food should be hot. There were fresh out of the fryer. And so good, and you get 5 with an order. I had to get three of them to go. Then the Smoked Brisket with Over Easy Eggs, Brabant potatoes and toast (the brunch menu is available, at least on Friday). This is a tricky combination. You have three things that are hard to get right. Brisket needs to be tender with a really good bark and a sauce that does not overpower it. Next the fried eggs. It is tough to get over medium right. Most people don't cook them enough, and many go too far. These were just right. The potatoes were on point, crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside.. And Everything was hot. This is a can't miss place. Fantastic atmosphere, great service and food that is from local sources, cooked fresh every day and delicious

Megan R.

Yelp
Acre is one of my favorite places to eat brunch in Auburn! Innovative menu with great service! I made a reservation online which was super convenient on a particularly busy weekend. The biscuit was a dream & the cool ranch tots were surprisingly good!

Kaia

Yelp
Amazing service, food, and prices. You can really tell how fresh everything is. Will definitely be returning next season for their new seasonal menu! p.s. HIGHLY recommend the beef tartare. The portion and quality were outstanding

Sarah T.

Yelp
This wasn't our first time to visit Acre, as it's become an automatic stop whenever we visit Auburn. Anna Grace was a phenomenal waitress, super happy to be doing her job and had a smile the whole time-- all while taking care of multiple tables spread out throughout the restaurant. She was also training a new waitress, so she was really hustling. My husband had the ribeye. This was hands down the winner for the night with amazing flavor that I never thought we'd like on a steak! I had the diver scallops. They were cooked perfectly and had an amazing broth poured over them table side. We also tried the carrot cake for dessert. I didn't realize when we ordered it that it's also gluten free. Neither of us are gluten free, but it says a lot about the pastry chef to be able to create something that's friendly for food sensitivities and you don't think something is missing when you taste it. We love the cozy atmosphere at Acre and we'll continue visiting each time we visit the loveliest village!

Lawrence P.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Baked oysters were out of this world, chicken fried bacon was also delicious (I thought it would be too heavy/greasy, but it was perfect), duck was perfectly cooked and tender as well.

Big G.

Yelp
"Best restaurant in Auburn" yeah right. Place sucked ass. The name "Acre" is just horrible in my opinion. The menu sucked, waited over an hour for our food, food was decent but I was so hungover I couldn't even enjoy it. Didn't like my waitress, she wasn't very outgoing and her attitude kinda sucked. Dont even get me started on the Valet. Kids were nice and doing their best, but cars were so backed up I was trapped in the parking lot for like 10 minutes. The restaurant itself is very nice and has potential. Overall was a pretty horrible experience though. Would have rather gone to Guthrie's

Rosemary G.

Yelp
Another great dinner at Acre. Always fresh ingredients and delicious new items on the menu.

Steve S.

Yelp
Acre is definitely one of the top spots in Auburn. Between the ambience and the service and the food you really could not ask for more. Save room for the brown butter ice cream.

Michelle M.

Yelp
If I could have given this restaurant 10 stars I would have. The best server Anna Grace made our experience even better. Her wine suggestions were spot on. The red fish was spectacular. The steak tartare was the perfect first course. The lamb shank was cooked perfectly and the olive/ hummus/ harissa accompaniment was perfect. Do not miss this restaurant!!

Adam C.

Yelp
Had the pan roasted scallops, cornbread appetizer and carrot cake and it was all fantastic. Service was attentive but not over bearing and the waiter knew the menu extremely well. The atmosphere was more casual than I was expecting to be honest: closer to a business-casual than formal and everyone was very friendly. Prices are high but 100% are worth it.

Elizabet S.

Yelp
I went to the acre back in May to celebrate my wedding anniversary, and we loved it. Meals were delicious, and waiters were kind and friendly.

Payton H.

Yelp
We went here for a birthday dinner this week. We started with the boudin balls and the Cesar salad. My husband really enjoyed the boudin balls, as he really enjoys brisket and anything bbq. The Caesar salad fell short. Something in the salad was very bitter and we couldn't taste the dressing very much. The sourdough croutons were the best part about the salad. For our entres, we ordered the scallops and the rigatoni. My husband really enjoyed the scallops and the grit cakes. The coconut sauce lacked flavor though. My rigatoni was OK. The sauce was great, the sweet corn was fresh and sweet, but the shrimp tasted very fishy, and the noodles were undercooked. I'm sure they were going for an al dente texture, but the noodles had a hard bite to it. I had my husband try it just to make sure it wasn't me, and he agreed that the noodles were not cooked enough. We had to wait almost an hour to receive our entres. We had to wait at least 20-25 minutes just for our starters to come out. The caveat to this was that they were busy, but we were very hungry. Our waiter was great! We were just expecting a little bit more from Acre especially with the buzz surrounding its reputation. We would come back, but I would order something different.

Chris S.

Yelp
Food is good and service is good, but this is definitely an Auburn elite restaurant. If you're not rich, you will feel poor going here haha.

Rob M.

Yelp
I've got bad news for you. 1856 is number 1. True gourmet food deserving of a Michelin ranking.

Thomas F.

Yelp
We were in Auburn for a quick visit and decided to try Acre. We started with a cheese board, fried okra. All the meals were well prepared and the ambience and service were superb. Try it, you will love it!

J M.

Yelp
The hostess was either rude or inept I couldn't say for sure. We did not have a reservation but we arrived around 11:15 to eat lunch. There were many groups that were sat before us. After waiting over 30 minutes we approached one of the young ladies working the front desk. She claimed that she had lost our name. We were sat soon thereafter and our server was really nice. We ordered the laminated cornbread which was delicious! I ordered the brisket meatloaf. It was like eating a warm meat paste. I would say that the meat had been overworked. The sauce on top was delicious and the mash was tasty. I would not recommend it to anyone. My husband had the Cuban which was good. The building is well put together and the table service was nice.

Tasnia M.

Yelp
Good but inconsistent. Nice dining area and all but main thing I remember is that food quality felt different each time we went. Worth a try.

Tracy H.

Yelp
First- the service is always great! Second, the food, always phenomenal. And last but not least, the atmosphere is inviting. We visit family in Auburn a few times throughout the year and Acre is a staple during our visits.

Cint T.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere GREAT FOOD....First time there is was good, Ill be back for sure. Service was good as well.

Curtis M.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Auburn, possibly the best. Usually need a reservation, for it is always pretty packed. It is a fancier restaurant, so expect some pricier food choices...but the price is worth it...very good food.

Hope D.

Yelp
Flavor town for sure! The Bacon was out of this world delicious. The desserts were divine and so many delightful appetizers. The service was impeccable. Great low key fine dining vibe. I mean the deep fried bacon and the cornbread were the show stoppers but everything was fantastic.

Chris G.

Yelp
Horrible experience at the Acre Restaurant-Auburn DIRTY RESTAURANT!!! Arrive to the restaurant today for lunch and was sat at a dirty table. When I asked if it could be cleaned I was told by the hostess that it was cleaned already, I asked her not to try and convince me when there is clearly still food on the table from the last guest. The plates brought to our table were not clean and came with smudge marks and dried food. The menu to order from was stained with some type of food grease on most of the menu. Since cleanliness was not a priority in the dining area where I was sat I did not want to chance any unsanitary food coming from their kitchen so I decided to leave. I asked to speak to the manager before leaving to address the cleanliness. On arrival the manager was nice and friendly. I explained the lack of cleanliness and pointed the the young lady (hostess) the problem originated with. The manager asked me not to point or say anything about her in her presence because how it would "make her feel." At this point he suggested we move to another area to talk and we moved outside the front door. The manager continued the conversation outside by saying "I need to defend her (hostess) and I take responsibility for the dirty conditions" I appreciate his willingness to be responsible for the unclean conditions at this restaurant. I was taken back the lack of accountability of the staff by the manager. This would have been an easy fix it solution......clean the table, bring out clean plates and installed menus to order from but none of this happened. This was my first time at Acre and clearly will never return. I would NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE GOING HERE until the cleanliness improves.

K W.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in the Auburn area. The staff did a good job making recommendations.

Mary Ann R.

Yelp
Fantastic food and service!!! A terrific spot if you are ever in Auburn!! Recommend lunch.

Bryan H.

Yelp
I didn't take pictures but we all loved our food. I wished they had some kind of table bread option besides the cornbread though. We were there for Sunday brunch menu I think. I had the Blue Plate Ribeye Steak Frites, which was very good (steak cooked perfectly and tasty, fries, and aioli). Kinda wish there was a vegetable of some sort but all good. My Son had the chicken fried chicken and he said everything was good. The place was clean, service nice and prompt, atmosphere pleasant....couldn't ask for a better meal in Auburn.

Erin C.

Yelp
Ambiance was good for a date night. Food was mediocre and the carrot cake was salty. Service was slow but the staff kept checking in on us and updating us on the status of our food.

Andrew S.

Yelp
This is a highly recommended local restaurant downtown in Auburn. I had to circle the block 3 times since you can't see the restaurant from the alley and once you locate this business, parking is difficult in their small lot and some cars start to park illegally along the side of the alley because they are too lazy to walk half a block where street parking is available. Service is very good once you arrive. The food is just okay, burger was an 8 out of 10. I didn't feel or taste the reputation this place has in Auburn. It's quaint, has outdoor seating but very limited with their hours of operation.

Erin K.

Yelp
Had the most perfect dinner celebration at Acre for my brother's graduation! The food was delicious, our server was very knowledgeable, and vibes were perfect for a family dinner out on the covered/indoor patio! They had a valet service out front which was super convenient for a busy weekend, and would definitely recommend a reservation if you're ever in town

Steveq E.

Yelp
This is a must eat at destination. Farm to table from their own gardens and orchards. Brisket meatloaf, really!! The food and the atmosphere were outstanding. You must eat here.

Noelle M.

Yelp
Wooooow! This was hands down the best meal we've had in town. Every dish was delicious and beautiful. Presentation and flavors were perfect. We got the duck and halibut entrees and went ham on date night with the tartare, strawberry and walnut salad, and lacquered cornbread starter. We were talking about it and think it's one of the best meals we've had ever, not just in Auburn. Loved the local centric purveyors--the fresh and quality ingredients really stood out. Maggie was out waitress and you should definitely ask for her! Make a reservation ahead of time on Resy.

Jason G.

Yelp
Acre is an automatic choice when visiting our Auburn student. Been multiple times and loved it every time. They are on Resy for reservations. Last night they had just changed their appetizer menu and added a couple of fish items on it. I really enjoyed the Pompano ceviche with dill pita chips, it had a little kick to it, but not overpowering. For my entree last night I had the grouper, which is more Cajun than I thought it would be, but with crawfish, sausage, and potlikker, I should have known...it was so flavorful but be warned that it was spicy. Our server Emily was outstanding! She recommended for dessert cornbread with salted butter ice cream, which is one of the more bold dessert recommendations I have been given, but I am always up for a challenge...unbelievably great choice, however! Follow Emily's recommendation for a one of kind Southern dessert!

John H.

Yelp
Worst restaurant in Auburn. They can't even make a hamburger without turning it into a charcoal bricette covered in bitter grass clippings on a rubberized bun. I've given them three chances with equal results. Sad.

Luke O.

Yelp
Unique, fancy, local, southern. I always take people here when they are visiting from out of town and Acre never disappoints.

Jeff P.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner during a college visit with a group of parents. The server was super great and attentive to our table of 8. She was awesome actually. Getting the original round of drinks was a little slow, but to be fair there were a couple other large tables that had just arrived slightly before us. So not a big deal. The food had great presentation and were all very prepared. Very tasty. The menu is a little limited with 3 seafood entrees, a steak, and poultry dish. There may have been one more special. All really good. The only slight complaint was that the restroom could have been cleaner and seemed to need some slight maintenance and cleaning. But not anything specific.

Albert R.

Yelp
2nd time going to this place and food was Mediocre, this is the 2nd time we went to this restaurant, the staff (especially the Mgt or host staff ) was not able to accommodate our large party in 1 table but we were separated into 2 tables, the server was very nice but she talked as if we only ate at a fast joint or greasy spoon diner our entire lives. I will not be back.

Chris R.

Yelp
Service was great and brunch included a mimosa was wonderful-had bacon and eggs, which came with a huge biscuit and tater tots.

Joe W.

Yelp
Great local place. Upscale southern fare. Staff is friendly, give you time to enjoy the process of a meal. You will not feel rushed, but catered. Perfect place for a special meal.

M D.

Yelp
Have eaten there twice when in town and two great experiences from the food to ambiance to service. We will be back. Highly recommend

Tia J.

Yelp
Everything tasted so good! My tomato soup was so rich and creamy, and complemented perfectly with the grilled cheese. The grilled cheese had sliced tomatoes and bacon on it as well. I love that it is a farm to table restaurant. We were also able to try a specialty bourbon that is hard to find. I want to go back just to try more stuff

Jessica W.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Acre. The atmosphere was very relaxing, with low lighting and southern-style accents. We were served quickly and I appreciated the recommendations given by our waitress. The Boudin balls were my favorite! My husband and I really enjoyed the spicy mustard and pickles that came with it. He had the flounder and I got the wolffish (both were special features this evening). The food was fresh, though the portions are small. We were expecting this, so it wasn't anything to complain about. Onto the cocktails! I got the Beet Bama and it was SO GOOD. My husband ordered Sweater Weather followed by a Call Me Old Fashioned. I finished my meal off with a very tasty chocolate martini. Highly recommend. To me, this is definitely a spot for more of a special occasion. We plan to visit again in the future!
