Spectacular history, beautiful walks from one piece of antiquity to the next. Merida is a must stop for Classical Antiquity interests.

The other smaller and newer aqueduct. The original roman one (three columns) is situated next to the roman circus. Big difference on workmanship.

The aquaducts built in ancient times to supply water to the town are impressive engineering and archetectural monuments

It is located in the town where it doesn't look like a tourist area. The aqueduct itself is very impressive, but the surrounding area is not. I luckily got parking lot right in front. Took a few photos and left straight away.

The way this piece of ancient technology was put together is worth the visit. There is 1 passage for cars trough this aquaduct but a campervan wouldn't pass. Close to this masterpiece there is even a bigger one. Merida is worth the visit!!!

A short walk from the town to the aqueduct in the park is well worth it. Not restored but all the three-tier arches are in tact, free and pleasant to walk in park
