A.D. 1768 Boutique Hotel (Ragusa Ibla, Sicily) 5 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In Ragusa’s historic quarter of Ragusa Ibla, there’s a seemingly limitless supply of 18th-century Baroque architecture, and a.d. 1768 Boutique Hotel, named for the year of its construction, is a prime example. Even in such rich surroundings, it stands out, with a privileged position alongside the cathedral and the Piazza Duomo. But for all of this aristocratic residence’s evident history, in typical Italian boutique-hotel style its proprietors are not shy about incorporating modern and contemporary influences — here the Baroque and the 21st century exist comfortably side by side." - Tablet Hotels

What a beautiful luxurious, loved, well cared for boutique! The owners are so sweet and really take pride in their boutique. The rooms were very clean, well cared for and decorated so elegantly! The breakfast was incredible, and the ambiance of the entire boutique is just stunning. The town is absolutely beautiful, and there are so many close by walkable restaurants and shops! This place is a must stay!

We stayed at this charming little hotel for one night and can wholeheartedly recommend it. From the beautiful inner courtyard, an elevator takes you up to the lovingly renovated and very spacious rooms, each with a balcony. The location is perfect for exploring Ragusa on foot. The staff was extremely professional and genuinely friendly. Breakfast was excellent, and the lovely lady hosting it brightened our morning with her warm smile and detailed explanations of the Sicilian specialties. We would come back anytime. Thank you so much!

The staff was exceptionally kind and professional, helping us with everything we needed. We parked down the hill and walked up with our luggage in just 5 minutes (though they also offer a transfer service if preferred). The design of the place is absolutely beautiful, clean, tasteful, and a perfect blend of old and new, with a refined sense of style. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful - made from local, organic, traditional and healthy ingredients. The owner explained the dishes and, upon our request, shared the fascinating history of the building and its renovation. It was a truly fantastic experience - highly recommended!

The friendliness yet professionalism of the staff was exceptional. Customer service is at the forefront and they looked after their guests so well from arrival to departure. The breakfast was thoughtfully prepared offering a variety of food and catering for food intolerances. The front of house staff (Elisabetta I do believe) went over and above to make our stay comfortable and memorable. She greeted us, helped with luggage as did other lovely staff, and assisted us with finding a street parking spot (very difficult to find in Ragusa). Our suite was more than comfortable and we thought the dedication to the owner’s grandfather was a very special touch. What a lovely acknowledgment of his dedication and love of his family. There was a large and thoughtfully decorated living room for guests. The hotel was close to the lower Ragusa with plenty of restaurants. Thank you AD1768 for a memorable stay.

Beautifully refurbished hotel set in an ancient palazzo in the heart of Ibla, with a mix of modern furniture and antiques. Suites (€200/day incl. breakfast in high season) are excellently soundproofed and truly enjoyable to stay in, with comfy beds and modern baths.

Exquisite elegant hotel 10 steps from the piazza de duomo. Beautifully and creatively decorated. I enjoyed spending time in the living room admiring the original fresco with soft music in the background. Great and abundant breakfast options beautifully presented. The service was flawless providing assistance to ensure visitors enjoyed the beautiful city of Ragusa Ibla.

This place is something special, a restoration of an ancient building that has been transformed into a high-class hotel. The service is unbeatable, and the charming landlady tells an inspiring story about the construction of the hotel.
