Hawker atmosphere, serving both halal and non halal. Some stalls are in long queue. The beverage stall keeps asking to buy drink, it seems they won't stop until we buy! Uncomfortable.

Adam Food Centre is one of to go-to whenever I’m craving local food. So many great stalls in one place — from nasi lemak and mee goreng to satay and prawn noodles. Everything is packed with flavour and reasonably priced. It gets busy, especially at night, but totally worth the wait. The vibe is lively, and there’s plenty of seating. A proper makan spot for sure. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

An absolute gem. “Heritage” indeed, even with new tables and a fresh coat of paint, Adam is THE place to spend a perfect afternoon of eating ad drinking well.

was here with friends for early dinner (around 5pm-ish). the place wasn't crowded (yet) during our visit. just feel that the quality of food is not as good as before and compared to the ones in newton. what we ordered: seafood fried rice (from the chinese stall). it was tasty enough. however i think the seafood wasn't fried together with the rice. it was placed at the bottom. satay and bbq chicken. the taste was good. chicken satay was juicy but the mutton and beef were quite hard to chew. stingray was also good. i like it spicy that way. fresh lime juice was a little too sweet. but probably just had to wait a while more for the ice to melt so it'll be less sweet. overall the meal was okay.

Indian rojak at Adam's Indian rojak is excellent, especially the gravy. The char tow kuey & sambal stingray was good. Airy & clean & was not too crowded on a Thursday early evening

Google
Hawker food atmosphere. So queue, collect and return your food and trays. Still lots of memories here. Good to see it being retained and serving the public. A bit expensive for teh halia $2.

Food is decent but not as good as before. Black carrot cake burnt, chicken wings bland, maggie goreng bland, bbq lala salty.

Bit late at night (10pm) so most stalls closed. Great mee goreng though on my first food in Singaoore for 18 months

Yelp
One of my favourite hawker centres. It has the Adam Road Noo-Cheng Prawn Noodle and the Adam Fishball Noodle. The ice kachang was very refreshing here.

Yelp
My coworker took me to the Adam food centre for nasi lemak. This Hawker centre caters to a more local crowd and gets really crowded during lunch time. I had the nasi lemak from Selena Rasa Nasi Lemak. They make everything to order so the line will move pretty slow. I ordered the royal flush which comes out to a little over 5 Sing dollars. The fried chicken is crispy and juicy and my favorite part of the plate. The rice is fragrant and aromatic. I didn't care so much for the paste component in the banana leaf. Additionally, I would have my egg cooked over easy and not have a fully cooked yolk. Overall, the dish was tasty but wouldn't want to wait in line for 30 minutes again.

Yelp
I always thought Adam Road Food Centre is too far away to make the trip for some local delights. That is, until the Circle Line opened, and suddenly it is quite convenient for those living near the Circle Line stations to get there. Now I will head there once a month or once every 2 months for either breakfast or lunch. It is not so crowded before 1230pm. Adam Road FC is best known for the nasi lemak. I have tried it twice in my life and frankly I think it is quite over rated. It is nice but not enough for me to join the never-ending long queue. I much prefer the bee hoon goreng with fried egg from the Indian stall next to the famous nasi lemak. Next to it is the Indian rojak stall which has pretty good selection and dip. The only draw back is there is a minimum spend on the Indian Rojak so you cannot just get 1 or 2 items. I also like the mee soto stall which tends to be sold out by 12pm. The fish ball noodles stall is also very good. The fish balls are bouncy and sweet. For teh halia or teh tarik, I like ordering from the stall nearer the fish ball noodle place or next to the Chinese dessert stall. The stall nearer the Indian rojak has very diluted bandung (rose syrup drink) and weak teh halia. Yelp Feb 2014 Challenge: 8/28

Yelp
Rekindled love for a school days food haven, which I recently rediscovered with convenient access now available via the DTL Botanic Garden MRT stop. Delicious flavourful prawn mee broth that is quite unlike any other, fragrant tasty black carrot cake that is not too oily, arguably one of the best around. The famous yummy Nasi Lemak stall is not available for dinner unfortunately. Do budget time for queues during peak hours.

Yelp
I came here twice, once via a UYE, then came here again. Adam Road is fairly accessible thanks to the MRT where it's a short 5 minute walk from the Botanic Gardens MRT. I was fascinated by this Food Centre because Andrew Zimmern came here. I've tried the following here: 1. (2 stars) Sup Tulang (Mutton Bone soup). It's ok, but if you get a hold of a bad bone, which I did, it can be disturbingly gamey, and for $S10 an order, there's no room for imperfection. Doubt I'd ever want this again. 2. (2 stars) Rojak, I tried this twice. You pay a la carte for pieces of various things from liver, squid, shrimp, etc. that are deep fried twice. Conceptually, it's gross and by the second time, I concluded that it's fried grossness and the sweet sauce is too sweet. Just not my thing I guess. 3. (4 stars) Prawn Noodle Soup, excellent quality in the broth here. Noodle's good. 4. (4 stars) Refreshments, the Ginger Milk Tea is super good and cheap here. 5. (3 stars) The Nasi Lemak is supposed to be very good. I had it and it's good but nothing memorable. I wouldn't wait in a large queue to have it. All in all, I guess your rating on Adam Road Food Centre will correlate over whether you prefer Malay/Indian/Muslim style Singaporian Food. I'm not into it because there's too much sweet added to the flavoring. The prawn noodle soup is the only item that pleases my palette.

Yelp
Adam is crowded during lunch and dinner so I usually come for late breakfast, afternoon tea or late supper. Parking is limited and make sure you have coupons. I am not giving this place 4-stars because US VP Joe Biden was here but it was does have good stalls and you need to know which one. Our favorites are.... 1. Mee Soto and Mee Rebus. Always long line and $3.00. Must add "bargedil" for 50 cents and worth it. Serving size has shrink but still sedap. 2. Mamak teh tarik and teh halia still authentic 3. Nasi Lemak - There are 2 good stalls and expect long lines. I tried both but the one at the end is just so so and service is slow. The better one closed on Friday and I cannot remember the name. The rule is follow the long queue lines. 4. Fruit Juice - Must try them here for cheap and good. 5. Indian Mee Goreng is really good here. I have to agree that ventilation is poor and does get stuffy and hot during lunch time. Evening is better but parking is a problem. Since I am back to Singapore every 1-2 years, I definitely visit here for Mee Soto and Mee Rebus.

Yelp
I walked past what looked like a somewhat ramshackle building located amoungst a number of churches and sort of scratched my head wandering what it was. However, as soon as I saw the universal symbol for leave your tray here I suddenly realised that it was a hawker's market, so I decided to pin-point this place to have my lunch. I only discovered it by accident, but I have come to realise that this places are almost uniquely Singaporean. I always have trouble working out what I want, though you know which are the popular hawkers (and apparently some of then even have a celebrity status) because there are huge lines outside their stall. This one does get quite crowded at lunchtime - I had some difficulty finding a seat, but I must say that I do love the atmosphere of this place (even though it is quite small).

Yelp
This is a must place to visit every time I went to singapore. The food was great and the place is pretty clean too! This place is always crowded, however I always managed to find a place to sit. I really love the food from "ADAMS RD SEAFOOD" stall. my fav is their sambal stingray. Their sambal stingray is one of my reasons to keep returning back to singapore however today I tried their ikan siakap sambal. IT TASTED EVEN BETTER! Definitely worth the visit!

Yelp
Teh Halia from Taj Mahal ($1) - 2 stars Diluted and not spicy. Tasted like water. Soursop juice from Fruitopia ($2) - 3 stars Way too sweet. Would ask for less sugar the next time. Mee hoon pattaya ($6) - 2.5 stars Way overpriced for noodles and egg! Not impressed.

Yelp
I actually come by really often (more than once a week), usually when I miss a bus and the next ones a while away (there's a bus stop by College Green nearby). It's a ripoff, although you see many regulars and recognizable faces in spite of that. The prawn noodles are famous, but it tastes pretty salty, yet flat. And my mom likes to use the word "cheating" wrt amount you find in your bowl! The nasi lemak is famous too, but it's so-so only.. Probably only famous because the portion seems quite big and you get a huge piece of fried chicken. The prata (I think they have a few stalls that sell prata though) is not bad, especially the fish head curry, but it sells out super early (I went at 9am and no fish curry already :S). There's a really good drinks stall that sells good teh and teh halia though. It's quite obvious which one - the one with a queue and doesn't need to tout! Their Masala is disappointing though. That said, it's hard to find cheaper food (relatively speaking...) in the area located so conveniently. If you have a car, can check out Greenwood area also (you can walk too, about half hour tops - it's like 2 or 3 bus stops up and a walk in). They have 2 stalls selling good fishball noodles and malay food there amidst the bars and restaurants.

Yelp
Sorry to say but I'm not fond of Adam Road Food Centre, despite being a big fan of hawkers and following them around Singapore... I would much rather hop on a 165 and be in Holland Village's Hawker or go to one of Chinatown's more obscure hawkers for more fun. The ventilation here is horrible (only topped by Chomp Chomp!) and I remember ordering prawn noodles and getting a small bowl of noodle soup ($4) with anything else besides some yellow egg noodles. Wow. The saving graces here are the shaved ice stall which serves a mean Ice Kachang ($0.80 if I recall correctly) and it's a place to go if you're sick of Island Creamery and need some local flavour to spice up your life. Wouldn't go for the food though.

Yelp
A good hawkercenter for those who like Malay/Indian style foods. There is not many chinese food stalls here, among few of them are the prawn mee and fishball mee stalls
